Loki grabbed Amaliya by the hand pulling her along behind him through the hallway and down the stairs. He paused letting her hand go and turned to her giving her a silent order to stay at the base of the stairs. Liya nodded hoping to stay rooted to that spot on the marble floor. Loki continued down the second set of smaller steps before flipping the cane in his hand, now holding the base he raised the staff and hit the man in uniform in one effortless motion knocking him unconscious. Liya felt her foot move to help the man but resisted pulling it back to meet her other foot as tears streamed down her face.

She watched him forcefully make his way through to the center of the expansive room to a man behind a stand that was amplifying his voice. There were screams and the attendees running out of the way. Loki grabbed the man behind the stand pulling him through the retreating crowd and throwing him onto a stone table shaped like a beast of burden. He threw the man with little effort, looming over the frightened mortal before pulling out the device that Agent Barton gave him in the bunker.

Liya watched in horror frozen where she stood as the humans rushed by her grazing her and knocking her somewhat off balance but she stood where she was told to. Loki jabbed the object onto the face of this man, over his eye. He screamed and writhed from the pain under the Asgardian. The other humans screamed and fled as quickly as they could into the cold night air.

Once the act was done and the room was near empty the Trickster turned to Amaliya holding out his hand for her. His Midgardian garb shimmered away to reveal his Asgardian suit along with his helmet and cape, the cane was now the scepter once more. Liya's gown shimmered away as well revealing the outfit she had been wearing since they left Titan. She went to the prince's side not without a few stumbles; she was still not used to those boots.

Loki followed the crowd outside with Amaliya in tow. There was a noise coming from a vehicle coming at them Loki blasted it with the spear causing it to flip over. Liya stopped in the street watching the machine skid to a stop.

"Amaliya," Loki called and she hurried to meet him.

People were still screaming and trying to get away from whatever fate the alien had planned for them. They were scared and Liya could feel that fear invade her body and mind, there was no other word but terrified to describe it; unclear, unfinished, and panicked thoughts impounded on hers. The Vanir tried to push them all away but there were so many people around her, she stumbled to Loki and grabbed the spear, the power of the Mind Stone enveloped her once more pushing all the thoughts away from her mind. Liya stood there strong and in control once more emitting a golden hue around her body and her eyes matched the radiance that engulfed her.

"Kneel before me," Loki commanded the crowd but they continued to scream and try to run. Loki pounded the scepter into the ground and duplicates of Loki appeared around the scared throng corralling them like cattle. "I said…KNEEL!"

His voice echoed around the group quieting them. The humans then dropped to their knees with no question. They all looked at Loki, fear driving their actions. Amaliya looked at the Trickster with shock, what was he playing at.

The Asgardian walked through the crowd of now cowering mortals, "Is this not simpler? Is this not your natural state," he asked them his arms outstretched turning to see Liya he held out a hand for her. The princess slowly walked toward him joining him in the huddled mass of humans. He continued, "It's the unspoken truth of humanity that you crave subjugation. The bright lure of freedom diminishes your life's joy in a mad scramble for power, for identity." He gave a huge grin, "You were made to be ruled," he turned to the Vanir, "In the end, you will always kneel."

"Loki what are you doing," Liya whispered to him.

"Just be patient Dove," he told her with a kiss on her hand.

Liya looked behind the Trickster to see an old man get up and stand proudly. "Not to men like you," he said firmly.

Loki turned and chuckled, "There are no men like me."

"There are always men like you," the old man told him.

Loki laughed again pushing Liya in front of him, "If you would be so kind Dove," he pointed the spear to the old man, "Look to your elder people, let him be an example."

"No," Liya said harshly in hushed tones.

"You leave me no choice Amaliya," he told her as he fired the spear at the old man.

A man jumped in front of the man raising a shield and deflecting the blast back to Loki. He pushed Liya to the ground so the discharge hit him instead of the princess. It knocked the Asgardian to the ground.

The man spoke, "You know, the last time I was in Germany and saw a man standing above everybody else, we ended up disagreeing."

"The soldier," Loki growled out getting to his feet, "a man out of time."

"I'm not the only one who's out of time."

A jet appeared above the crowd as they moved away from the fray in panic, "Loki, drop the weapon and stand down."

The Trickster fired at the jet but is maneuvered out of the way. Loki snarled pulling Amaliya to her feet, "Hide," he ordered.

The Captain attacked Loki with his shield but the Asgardian avoided it moving the soldier pushing him down to the ground with the scepter, "Kneel!"

"Not today," Rogers said kicking Loki in the face and they continued to struggle.

Amaliya looked on with shock; she had to do something, but what. She looked up at the jet hovering trying to get a clean shot at Loki. Then loud and obnoxious music started playing out of the jet and something came into her vision. This had to be Iron Man. He landed and fired, what must have been a repulsor blast at Loki knocking him down. This gave the Captain time to get up and move to Iron Man's side.

"Make a move Reindeer Games," Stark said holding his hands out at Loki ready to fire. Loki raised his hands and his helmet and cape shimmered away. "Good move."

Rogers was breathing heavily as he said, "Mr. Stark."

"Captain," Tony returned.

"He was with someone from what the cameras showed," Steve said looking around the darkened streets.

Liya rushed to Loki's side in plain view of Iron Man and Captain Rogers, "Are you hurt," she asked frantically looking over him.

"You mean the leather clad groupie," Tony nodded towards the princess.
