Hello after such a long time. Why did I never update? I completely forgot about doing these in my free time. But 2020 is a new year so time to put a lot of my free time into these fanfics (hopefully). Enjoy this one for now I guess...

Edit: I started this at the start of 2020 and what a crazy year its been. Couldn't even get a single chapter out in the whole year...

(Read till the end for updates)

Underground Magic Island

Kanto Region

Viridian Forest, 6AM

Yellow just finished her early morning walk as she made her way back to her house. Every morning, she goes through the Viridian Forest helping out the bug and grass pokemon. Whether it would be feeding them berries or healing injuries, she would always be a mother figure to all of the pokemon in the forest. This morning's walk slightly drained Yellow, however, as she had to constantly use her powers to heal a lot of pokemon (for some reason there was an innumerable amount of injured pokemon). It was still early so Yellow decided to get some shut eye for an hour before going on with her day (usually she would be making breakfast at this time). As she made her way to her room, she proceeded to take off her shoes and hat so she could easily relax.

'I wonder why there were a lot of pokemon that were injured today?' she thought to herself as she proceeded to lay in her bed.

Just as she closed her eyes and exhaled a deep breath, there was a knock on her front door.

'Oh please, not now.'

Yellow turned to lay on her side and went under the covers to drown out the knocking and act as if she wasn't home. The knocking wouldn't stop however. In fact, it got louder and faster.

'Just go away, go away.'

Then the knocking stopped. Yellow sighed in relief. It was finally time for her to get some shuteye. But then she heard a voice outside.

"Looks like she isn't home, I guess we're gonna have to break in."

After hearing this, Yellow jumped out of the covers and rushed to put her shoes on. She dashed out from her room and, almost tripping down the stairs, made her way to the front door, just before the strangers could break their way in.

"WAIT!" Yellow shouted as she jammed the door open. But as she was opening the door, someone's hand was still on the doorknob and that person went flying into her house. Yellow opened her eyes and saw Gold standing in front of her.

"WHAT WAS THAT FOR?" Emerald's voice came from deep inside her house.

Yellow sighed

Later

"AHAHAHA, OH MAN WAS THAT FUNNY!"

"SHUT UP, GOLD!"

Gold and Emerald were sitting on the couch in Yellow's living room as she was making breakfast and explaining the situation of how Emerald went flying into her house. She didn't expect the company but it was nice to spend time with her juniors for a while. She then finished her morning pancakes and brought a plate to the living room for Gold and Emerald.

"Enjoy," she said as she set the plate on the coffee table. Gold and Emerald started to dig in.

"Anyways, what brings you two guys here so early in the morning?"

Gold set his orange juice glass down. "Well actually, Professor Oak entrusted the two of us in some top secret super special mission in the Viridian Forest just for us. Its top secret so we can't tell you."

Emerald shook his head. "He says special mission but we were Professor Oak's last options. Also its not top secret if we had to ask Yellow for help so-" *POW*

Gold punched Emerald in the arm.

"OWWWW! WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!"

Gold cleared his throat. "Anyways, there's something we need to investigate in the Viridian Forest, so can you come with us?"

Yellow nodded, "Sure, I have nothing else to do anyways. And for some reason I saw so many injured pokemon in my daily walk this morning so I think there's definitely something going on."

"Cool lets get going right now," Gold said as he finished his last pancake.

A few minutes later

The trio made their way to the entrance of the Viridian Forest when an old man stopped in their way. Gold and Emerald tried to ignore him and keep walking but the old man grabbed onto Yellow's hand and started dragging her away from them.

"Hi hello there. I see you have a pokedex there. Why don't I teach you how to catch a pokemon?" the old man asked her. He was very reluctant to show her for some reason.

"Uh no, I'm good," Yellow replied as she broke from the old man's grip. "I'm in a hurry right now to the Viridian Forest so I can't right now."

Yellow tried to walk away but the old man grabbed her wrist again. "Oh please, all rookie trainers need to learn this before they go on their pokemon journey." This time the old man had a stronger grip so that Yellow wouldn't be able to let go. Just then Gold and Emerald came running back to Yellow to see what was going on.

"Hey old man, lay off. We're kinda in the middle of something right now," Gold said as he grabbed Yellow's free arm.

"Yeah, you're creeping her out dude," Emerald followed up.

Suddenly the old man's eyes grew wide as he pointed at Gold and Emerald. "Wait a minute, you boys are the ones that broke my door this morning letting all the weedles in my house escape!"

"You guys what?!" Yellow was dumbfounded. 'But why am I also not surprised?' she thought to herself at the same time.

"Oh no. We gotta get outta here," Gold exclaimed as he tried to run away while holding onto Yellow's arm. Emerald used this opportunity to push the old man away and free his grip from Yellow's hand.

"Go go go, let's go!" he yelled. The old man fell on the ground and yelled at the boys holding his fist in the air.

"You rotten dex holders!"

The trio was able to run out of Viridian City and to the path leading to the Viridian Forest. They were able to take a breather and slow down now that they were out of sight from the old man.

"This is why I hate coming to Viridian City," Gold sighed as he was catching his breath.

"Yeah also I'm glad we didn't run into Green," Emerald said thinking about the time Green made him do a super hard training session last time he visited the Viridian City gym. Now the trio was finally able to make their way to the entrance of the Viridian Forest.

"Alright we're here. So now what?" Gold looked around to see if anything looked weird or out of place.

"Hey look over there. What's that?" Emerald pointed over to the path on the left. There was an injured Metapod laying down near the roots of the tree. Its skin was losing its color and it looked like it was laying down for a very long time. Yellow started running first to help the injured pokemon. Gold and Emerald followed up after looking around to see if anything else seemed out of place. Yellow made it to the Metapod and place her hands over it so it would start healing.

"Another injured pokemon. I really wonder what's happening in this forest." Yellow thought out loud. She knew that something was happening in the forest but she needed to find the source of all the problems.

"Maybe we should take a walk around the forest," Gold suggested.

Emerald rolled his eyes, "As if we weren't gonna do that already. Thank you captain obvious."

Gold and Emerald went into an argument and started a fistfight. They started rolling around on the ground. Yellow ignored them and walked on the trail to the other exit of the forest. As she walked, she saw another Metapod lying on the ground. She rushed over to it and healed it up.

"Who did this to you?" she asked the Metapod.

"Metapod, metapod!" it replied.

'Doesn't know, huh?' she thought as she set the Metapod back in the tree it was hanging from. She kept walking down the trail until she heard a voice calling for her.

"Hey! Yellow? Where'd you go?" she heard Gold's voice ring throughout the entire forest. She didn't realize how far she walked away from them until hearing how far Gold's voice sounded away from her. She was about to run back to them, but tripped over the roots of one of the trees.

"I'm right he-" Yellow tripped over and fell to the ground, except she never landed. The ground opened up just as Yellow hit it, and she fell through the grass. Yellow watched as the ground closed up above her and screamed as she fell through the darkness. But it didn't last long as she landed quicker than she thought. Except it wasn't a landing she expected.

SPLASH

Water splashed everywhere on her. Her clothes and hat became wet.

'Is this a lake?' she looked around her surroundings. The only thing she could see was her reflection in the water. She tried reaching out to see if some pokemon fell in the water with her, but she felt nothing but the cold water. Thankfully, it wasn't as deep as she thought it was so she slowly got on her feet. Drenched in water, she tried taking small steps to get out of the water. If only she had pokemon that could help her see in the dark. She didn't want to walk too far as the ground could get deeper so she stopped in place.

"Gold! Emerald!" she yelled up at the hole she fell through, except she couldn't see a hole. And no matter how loud she yelled, the boys could not hear her from the other side. She kept looking around to see if there were any signs of life. Then as she turned to her left, she saw a tiny light in the distance. She tried squinting to see if she can make out what the light was. But unfortunately she didn't know, so she decided to slowly walk towards it.

Yellow suddenly felt a rush of wind as she was walking. She crossed her arms together to keep warm as she was still drenched in water. The water became more shallow as she got closer to the light. She could see that the light was getting bigger and bigger as she dragged her feet in the puddles. The darkness started to fade away as the light filled her surroundings and got bigger and bigger. Pretty soon, she could see that she landed in some sort of underground cave and was walking towards the exit where the light peered through. At this point, she felt safe enough to run so she dashed to the light and the exit of the cave. As she reached the exit and looked out, she was amazed.

It was magical. There was a beautiful lake, shimmering with bright water that came from a nearby waterfall connected to a stream. There were many deerlings and tropius that were drinking from the lake. The palm trees that grew near the lake were all different colors ranging from pink all the way to aquamarine. Yellow's jaw dropped in amazement as she watched the sun slowly setting near the horizon. The warm light shone onto the the prairie that was next to the lake and Yellow could see the Sawsbuck, running off into the distance.

"Hey Yellow, you made it!" someone called out to Yellow from her right.

Yellow turned but didn't see anyone. Instead, there was a metapod that hopped towards her. Yellow ignored it and turned to the left to see if anyone was there.

"Its me Yellow. The Metapod," it spoke as it tried to grab her attention.

Yellow jumped in surprise. "YOU CAN TALK?!"

The Metapod chuckled. "Down here, pokemon can reveal their thoughts and communicate with humans. That hole that you came through is the border that cuts off the world above from this place. And only true Viridian citizens that have the power to understand pokemon emotions can come down here."

Yellow was still dumbfounded and couldn't comprehend what was going on. A new world existed under the world that she lived in, and she didn't even know.

"So, uh is there any way I can get back to my world?" she asked.

"Of course, but before that we kind of need your help Yellow" the Metapod replied. It started to hop away from her and towards the lake. Yellow followed it, still in awe of the paradise she was walking through. A small path through the prairie is what Yellow walked down on her way to the lake. Fireflies were starting to come into her field of sight as the sun was close to setting. Eventually, Yellow and the Metapod made it down to the the shore of the lake. She could see many goldeen and magikarp swimming in the waters away from her as she made it to the shore. The Metapod stood near the shoreline and stared off into the waters.

"The problem here is that there's something at the bottom of this lake that we can't seem to get rid of. We don't know what it is and all of us have tried to remove of it before but our mouths and hands aren't big enough to carry the thing away. In fact, some of us don't even have mouths or hands," the Metapod hopped up and down as it said that last statement.

"So all I have to do is get rid of the thing that's in the water?"

"Precisely. You might have noticed the sheer amount of injured pokemon in the Viridian Forest. That is because they drank the water here in this lake. Usually the water is supposed to be pure, but it has become tainted because of the thing that it has affected all the pokemon who drank it."

"Sounds pretty straightforward," Yellow said as she took out her pokeballs and her fishing rod. She attached her Omastar pokeball to the end of the fishing rod then extended her line back. She swung her rod and the pokeball flew far into the lake. She waited for the pokeball to reach the bottom before releasing her Omastar from the ball.

'Thank you, Yellow," the Metapod sighed in relief.

"No problem, Metapod. Omastar might not have tentacles long eough to grab whatever is down there but.." the line started to tug towards the water, signaling that Yellow could release the Omastar from its ball. Yellow pressed a button on her fishing rod, letting out the Omastar from its ball.

"With its hydro pump, it should be able to push out whatever's down there, out of the water." Yellow insisted.

Right as she said this, an explosion could be heard from under the water and it splashed all the water out of the lake and onto the shore. The various fish pokemon all flew out of the water and flopped around looking for water as they landed on the shore. The Metapod hopped toward a nearby cattail to avoid all the water that was raining down from the sky. Yellow put her hat back on to hide under her hat, only for her dry hat to become wet once again. She kept her eyes in the air to see anything suspicious flying in the sky. Her Omastar slowly swam back to shore after completing its task. Yellow walked up to her Omastar to put it back into its ball. Suddenly, she felt something hit her hard in the head and fall to the ground. She rubbed the area that she got hit to ease the pain, then looked around the ground to see what hit her. She looked left, then right. Finally she turned around to see an unusual looking object on the ground. She picked it up to take a closer look. Upon turning the object to see the front, she came to a realization, she has seen something like this before.

"This looks kind of familiar. Isn't this Gold and Emerald's?" she questioned herself as she took a closer look. On the corner of the object, she could see small letters written down.

'Property of Gold and Emerald. To activate stink bomb, throw bomb against hard surface to expel chemical reaction.'

'A stink bomb of course. But how did it get down here?' Yellow thought to herself.

"You're probably wondering how on earth did this object get down here perhaps?" the Metapod suggested. Yellow smiled.

"You read my mind, Metapod. Its a stink bomb by the way."

"A stink bomb, I see. Well, when one of the pokemon in the forest was coming down from here, this stink bomb passed through just as the borders closed. It flowed down the river and sunk to the bottom of the lake."

"And then the stink bomb went off and the chemicals dissolved into the water. Then the pokemon drank the water and became injured, I'm assuming?"

"Right you are. But thanks to you, now we can drink clean and pure water."

Yellow sighed. "Yeah, it was my pleasure. I still have to chew out two people though," she glared up at the sky, then shook her head. "Anyways, is there a way for me to get back up to the top?"

The Metapod nodded. "Yes, we will get you ready for that right now."

The Metapod turned around and called to the other pokemon. Soon, the bug pokemon of the paradise came flocking towards the Metapod and Yellow. There were butterfrees and beautiflies along with vivillions. As well as a couple volbeat and illumise.

"So are we gonna fly back up there or something? Because I have my own butterfree," Yellow responded.

The Metapod shook its head. "Oh no no. We have something else planned. Its the first time we ever did this, so hopefully this works out."

"Wait, what?" Yellow looked puzzled.

Just then the various butterfly pokemon started to circle around Yellow as she started to slowly walk backwards in dismay. The sun could barely be seen over the horizon, so the illumise and volbeat lit up their tales and flew in circles around the butterfly pokemon. Before Yellow could move any farther, the pokemon blocked the path behind her and stopped her in her tracks. Yellow frantically looked around to see if there was an opening, but her efforts to escape the tiny vortex failed to no avail. She looked back forward towards the Metapod with a worried expression. Then before she knew it, she was faced with a bright orange powder that sprayed all over her face. The butterfly pokemon then flew upward in unison while still spraying their powder. The illumise and volbeat dispersed to escape the orange powder that fell from the sky all over Yellow.

"You could have just told me it was sleep pow..." Yellow couldn't finish her sentence. She was feeling drowsy. She rubbed her eyes and tried to take one last look at the pokemon paradise. She could feel her knees feeling weak, as if they wanted to give in and lay down. The Metapod hopped closer to her as the sleep powder started to disappear.

It spoke to her right before she lost consciousness. "See you up at the.." But she fell asleep before being able to hear the last part.

Later

Yellow's eyes opened. She was heavily breathing. The grass that she was laying on felt soft and warm. She looked around to her right and left.

'I'm back,' she thought. She sighed in relief as she sat herself up. Surprisingly, her clothes were no longer wet and her pokeballs were back on her belt. In her right hand she was holding the stink bomb she found at the bottom of the lake, and her hat was in her left hand.

"Yellow? Are you there?" she heard Gold's voice echo through the forest. She stood up from the grass and put her hat back on. She started to run and follow the sound of Gold's voice.

"Gold? Emerald? I'm over here!" she shouted to them to see if they could hear.

"Where!" she could hear herself getting closer to Gold's voice.

'I wonder if they're near the entrance, maybe I should go there,' she thought. She followed the path back to the entrance of the Viridian Forest. Then she turned the corner of a tree and ran headfirst into someone.

SMACK

"Ow, my brain!" Gold fell to the ground with both hands covering his head. Yellow fell to the other side and put one hand on her forehead.

"Oh, there you are," Emerald chimed in as he saw his two seniors on the ground rubbing their injuries. He helped up Gold to his feet, then helped up Yellow right after.

"Yellow, did you find anything out of place?" Gold asked, still rubbing his head.

Yellow nodded. "Yeah there was this hole that I fell through and then I passed out and woke up in some underground magic island. It was like a pokemon paradise."

Gold and Emerald looked at each other. Gold then asked Yellow, "Uh, did that all happen while I was rolling around on the ground with Emerald, or did you make all that up?"

Yellow looked puzzled. "I'm not making this up. I was underground for like 30 minutes. There were talking pokemon there and.."

"Yeah, yeah alright we believe you okay," Emerald cut her off before she could finish.

"Yellow, we saw you gone after we were rolling on the grass so we went to look for you. Then when I turned the corner, we bumped heads remember?" Gold suggested.

"Huh, so you mean..." Yellow was still confused. "Wait, what time is it?"

Gold took out his pokegear. "Just a quarter before 7, why?"

'So then did time not pass in this world at all?' Yellow thought for a second. 'Or was it all a dream?' Whatever that happened had Yellow questioning if what she discovered was real or not.

"Yellow?" Gold tried to get her attention as she was still lost in her thoughts. "Yellow! I have a pokemon here that could use some of your powers."

Emerald brought a Metapod to Yellow. When she saw the Metapod, that was when she snapped back into reality.

"Right okay, just let me hold it," Yellow said as the reached to hold the Metapod. As she held it in her arms, she noticed that the Metapod looked a little familiar to the one that she met in the underground pokemon paradise.

"Wait, this Metapod was the same pokemon that spoke to me in the pokemon paradise," Yellow claimed as she healed the Metapod.

"Look, Yellow. Without any evidence, we can't just believe everything you say alright?" Emerald tried to reason.

At this point, explaining everything to Gold and Emerald would take too long so she decided to forget about her thoughts. "Never mind that," she shook her head as she let the Metapod hop away. "Anyways, I found something that has been the main problem for all the pokemon here." She held up the object that she was holding in her hand.

Gold strangely looked at the object. "Hey, isn't that..?"

"It is!" Emerald chimed in.

"Yup, I found your stink bomb sitting in a lake and contaminating all the water for the pokemon. Now, you think you could explain why I found it here?" Yellow look displeased.

"Yeah that's the one we lost. Last week, we came to Viridian City to prank Green's gym, but we were missing one because of a certain someone," Gold eyed Emerald.

"I wouldn't have lost it if only you packed it in a bag that didn't have holes, stupid!" Emerald yelled at Gold. "And then Green made us do that intense training session because of you!"

"Hey, now who was the one that said they would rather do a training session with Green instead of a test of courage in the Pokemon Tower, huh?"

Gold and Emerald continued to argue over whose fault it was that they had to suffer. Yellow rolled her eyes and was about to give them a piece of her mind but she felt too tired to do so. Not being able to have a power nap after her morning walk and discovering a magical world underground while healing pokemon at the same time drained the most energy out of her than any other day. She could slowly feel her eyes starting to close again. But she was nowhere near her house, she couldn't fall asleep here.

"Gold, Emerald. Since we're done here I think we can just go back..." but she fell asleep before she could finish her sentence. She let go of the stink bomb that was in her hand and started to lean forward, losing her balance and falling to the ground. Gold and Emerald quickly ran to her side. Emerald grabbed the stink bomb before it hit the ground while Gold caught Yellow in his arms before she fell to the ground.

"Well now what?" Emerald asked Gold.

Gold took one look at Yellow and then at Emerald. "I guess we report to Professor Oak that the problem was solved. But we can't mention that we were the cause of the problems."

Emerald rolled his eyes. "Well obviously. But do you think Yellow will tell him?"

Gold looked at Yellow who was sound asleep in his arms. Then he smiled. "Let's hope it doesn't get to that point," he said as he took off her hat and covered her face with it.

And with that, the trio went on their way out from the Viridian Forest and back to their homes.

So you guys are probably wondering whatever happened to my "consistent" upload schedule and why it took so long for this one chapter to come out. Well for one, everything that has happened in 2020 could be a good enough excuse for me. I had a good story idea planned in my head at the beginning of this year, but then forgot about it as the months went on. Then as I came to revisit this unfinished chapter after a couple months, I completely forgot about the main story I envisioned and had to restart from scratch again. I decided to make this chapter a bit longer than my other stories to make up for the time that I haven't updated. If anything, I'm glad that I was able to update this before December. But anyways, thanks to everyone for reading my fanfics and for leaving a lot of positive reviews. I don't know when the next chapter will come out, especially because I'm a lot busier now than before, but I can assure you guys that I'll spend more time on writing new chapters whenever I write them so I can update a lot more consistently. Anyways, bye for now and hope to see you guys in the next update!
