A/N: I don't own KHR or any of its characters.

I watch as Kyoya spars with - um, a baby. A literal baby. Slightly confusing, but honestly, the mafia world is strange, who's to say fighting babies aren't a thing? Because from the looks of it, this fighting baby kicks buttttttt. Seriously, this guy - I mean baby (again, wtf) - is hands-down the strongest baby I've ever met… he's probably stronger than anyone I've encountered at the Vecchio compound.

Said baby twirls in the air with amazing speed, avoiding a barrage of swings from Kyoya's tonfa. With every swing I swear Kyoya gets quicker, more ferocious, despite the tire.

"You've improved since last time." The baby in a red cotton shirt with a red pacifier draped around his neck says. "Don't you think it's time to give your friend a chance to participate?" The baby looks at me with a soft smile.

Kyoya just glares, immediately jealous of his lost opportunity to keep fighting a worthy opponent.

"Oh, don't stop for me, I'm just watching." I shake my head.

"Nonsense, you're the honored guest, please." He jumps back from Kyoya, while motioning me into the courtyard.

Kyoya's glare intensifies. I send him an irritated glare right back that says - it's not like I'M the one asking to fight!

I hop down from my perch on the wood patio, quickly taking up stance - right hand up in front at a vertical and left hand in the defensive.

"Ohhh?" Fon smiles wider as he gets into the same stance.

I smirk, "Your move."

"As you wish." He burts forward. The first swing of his fist is so powerful, even the air around it cuts dangerously. But I move with the torrent, agiley flipping backward. As I flip, I land on the vertical wall, quickly boosting off of it straight toward him. My fist swings forward. He blocks with one hand, the other swiping quickly at my body in motion in the air. I twirl right avoiding the swing.

Fon smiles, "You know some martial arts?"

"That's what this is called?" He lifts his brow at my answer. "I'm just copying what you did earlier."

I crouch low to the ground, legs spread, fingers tensed into claws.

"You think you're ready for that stance after watching me once?" He questions, incredulous.

"Once is just enough." I smirk.

I launch my attack, aiming for pivotal points on the body to weaken his muscles.

His eyes widen, as he counters all my attacks. His leg kicks up, I jump back, unfamiliar with this stance.

My eyes zero-in on his movements. It plays out as if in slow-motion, every flex of muscle and angle of his body I memorize.

"Tea is ready." Chieko-sama's voice, soft but commanding, echoes over the courtyard.

Fon and I glance at each other and relax.

"And snacks?" I ask.

Chieko-sama chuckles. "No snacks, though you and Kyoya can run to the pastry shop and grab some strawberry daifuku to go with the tea."

"Yatta!" I sprint for the door.

"You took too long." Kyoya chimes in from the side as we exit the house.

"You were sparring for 4 hours straight… Who's the baby anyway?"

"Fon."

"They certainly are energetic aren't they?" Chieko-sama smiles at me.

"Hibari-san is as fiery as always. His strength is monstrous and he's improved far more than I thought he would since last year." I take a sip of oolong tea - my favorite. "And she's sharp. Vecchio you said?"

Chieko nods. "An inconsequential family. Nothing of note in this generation."

"How did they find her?"

"A distant relation. Her father passed suddenly and she went to her only living kin. My informants tell me… there was something strange in the matter. They couldn't discover anything further on that incident, but her birth father you might know."

"Eh?"

"He was a famous scientist. Dr. Ohsumi."

Fon's brows furrow, questioning, "In a family?"

"He was poached by the Estraneo family on many occasions."

I still - "THAT Dr. Ohsumi." I set down my cup, looking seriously at Chieko. "Hatsu wouldn't have been more than a few years old… She couldn't have survived if she were with him."

I look at Chieko, who stares back with strong, sure eyes. She believes that Hatsu WAS there. I see it clearly in her gaze.

"Even more so reason to believe she'll be dangerous if she's placed in the wrong environment." There were plenty of rumors swirling about how the Estraneo family wanted to make use of his developments in destruction and regeneration at the cellular level. But anything around that would be long gone by now. Destroyed along with that family.

Chieko's eyes twinkle in amusement. "But won't they have so much fun together."

I smile in response. They certainly will. "You've chosen her then?"

She only smiles in response.

"His parents won't be happy."

A vicious cough suddenly racks her fragile body. Still she seats up straight and her voice booms with pride - "As long as I'm head of this household, they will have to accept it. I will require your assistance when the time is right."

I hop to her side, filled with worry.

"Chieko-sama you…"

"Don't worry, Fon. Just a small cold"

I balance on the bridge railing as we walk into town. Kyoya walks on the sidewalk to my left. We walk in comfortable silence, as the sun sets - the orange hues glittering across the water beneath me. A peaceful moment until -

"STOP! THIEF! Someone catch them."

A group of 6 hooligans, looking in their late 20s, zips past us on the opposite sidewalk. Bundles of cash in each of their arms.

Onlookers scream, running in the opposite direction.

Kyoya glances at their disappearing figures. "Herbivores. Shall we have a little contest?"

"You really think you're a challenge for me? I can still whoop your ass Kyoya."

He pulls out his Tonfa. "Then let's see who can defeat 3 first."

But I'm already sprinting past him, my foot barreling into one of the delinquents back.

"AHHh. Who the hell -" His face turns to me from the ground, but I swiftly kick him out cold, teeth flying out of his mouth. "ALREADY ONE FOR ME."

"Two for me." Each of his tonfa swiftly hits the stomach of the two men charging at him.

"Tch." My fist makes contact with the next, then I flip kick for the last.

"THREE!." "Three." we exclaim at the exact same moment. Light groans sounding from around us from our incapacitated assailants.

Kyoya and I lock eyes. "Okay but I would've finished earlier If I were using my weapons."

Kyoya scoffs. "You don't use weapons."

"What? I do."

"Since when?"

"Since ALWAYS, you just haven't seen me use them."

Kyoya looks at me, incredulous.

"Seriously, you never noticed? Like in my stance?"

He quiets, actually giving it some thought. "You don't have any style of fighting besides copying everyone else."

"Well that's PARTIALLY true, I'll give you that. I'm still working on it, I mean I grew up in the Vecchio compound where fighting style is just muscle. At least I have some sort of strategy - all you do is charge straight forward"

"I'm strong."

I roll my eyes. "Well it's no fun to TIE. That just feels like unfinished business."

"Nggghh." One of the delinquents groans on the floor, trying to push himself up. I kick into his ribs ruthlessly, for good measure. "AGH!" he spits up blood. "You'll pay for this, you brats. Our boss won't let you get away with this."

Kyoya smirks. "Then we'll discipline this whole town."

"Fine, we'll proclaim the winner then." I smile back at him.

How fun.

Chieko-sama and Fon sit in darkness. The sun has long gone from the sky.

"How far is that pastry shop?" Fon sweat drops as they wait for the two kids to come back home.
