Giyu's pov

The crunch of the snow underneath our feet echoed throughout the forest as we made our way to our destination, Though I wasn't paying attention, lost in thought about the events that occurred just yesterday. 'She loves me...But... I'm not worthy. I'll just let her down as I did them. But how long has she loved me? do I love her back?.'

It all made his head hurt when he thought about it so he began thinking about something else.

'why think of something else? you want to know the answers do deny it'

"Yoo-hoo, Tomioka-san"

'but perhaps maybe if I don't acknowledge her I won't ponder about the subject'

"Tomioka-san!"

'huh, what?!'

"huh yes, Shinobu-san?". He turned to her looking her in the eyes before they drifted down to the rest of her face. 'those eyes, they compliment her smile very well.'

"been calling you for almost four minutes," she said "look at the kid' she spoke as she pointed off to him. 'What is wrong with him?.'

The boy sat on the ground holding his head with both hands, he seemed to be muttering something. "What's wrong with him?". She shrugged before she spoke "He's been muttering those same words for a while before he just sat down.

I walked over to the boy to get a closer look, and to figure out what he was saying. "hey are you okay?"

"those eyes...those eyes...those eyes..". I placed one of my hands on his shoulders. But before I could he grabbed onto my wrist with surprising strength. He then looked up at me his eyes seemed to be a darker red then just a second Ago.

I tried to yank my hand away but his grip just grew stronger. The boy's right hand traveled down to his nichirin blade. "breath of time: the cycle of the sun and moon."

The boy's grip loosened before his hand was completely gone. His body disappearing before me. "Shinobu! he attacking!"

"breath of water Jū Ichi no Kata Nagi: Dead Calm"

'i can't hurt the kid so I'll use my defense attack to block'

"Tomioka-san watch out there tw-" *shik!*

'he managed to get past my move!?'

a large segment of giyu's hair fell to the ground.

"breath of time: Timeless slash"

*chink*

giyu managed to block that attack with a swift slice of his sword

"Giyu I can't really help you in this situation without hurting him!"

"it's alright I got thi-!"

"breath of time: dead man's final breath"

Giyu's eyes widened at the tremendous speed the boy had 'theres no time to block!'

The cool steel blade severed giyu's head from his body with a thud.

blood poured from his neck, his vision going black in an instant.

"NO!..." A female voiced screamed.

But as I was dying the world became a black swirl of images

"...Do you see... how easily the mind...can be controlled and twisted."

I looked around to see a figure sitting on a throne.

long black hair cascaded down the pale man's head. He was unusually skinny and frail.

the man had Infinity written on his eyes " (the kanji for infinity written across them all. looks like this 常).

"can you feel...The pain that.. lurks behind happiness. perhaps your too stubborn to know"

Giyu looked down to the side trying to not think about those memories.

"Ahh...You do know the pain, but maybe you haven't felt enough pain"

The man held up his hand with his thumb and index finger pointing up. He let a sinister smile spread across his face.

'what...where...' was all Giyu could think at the moment. in a split second Giyu head seared with pain, his vision becoming blurry.

"yes...feel the pain...feel...true pain"

Giyu fell to his kneed as the man cackled and watched him grunt in pain

Images filled Giyu's mind things that he didn't want to see. Until it, all stopped at one scene. The pain had died down enough that he could stand and look around.

Everything was destroyed. Blood...everywhere.' how did the head quarters end up like this' He thought to himself as he studied his surrounding. Something had caught Giyu's eyes.

He walked towards it to see that it was a very familiar Butterfly hair pin Splattered in blood.

*cough!* "help..." said a strained female voice.

'that voice...'

"I'm coming!" he shouted, running towards the sound of the voice only to find himself in horror. His eyes widened at the scene blood, splattered every surface that he saw. The smell burned his nose.

"Tomioka...San?..". He ran up to her dropping on his knees. He tried everything in his power to stop the bleeding, But I just wouldn't stop.

Her skin was cold to the touch, her lips a pale blue colored. her eyes alight purple.

"Kocho...". He moved a hand to his face. It was so cold...

"Tomioka-san...I love you *cough!* live a Long life for me...Okay?"

He couldn't find the words he wanted to say. he just closed his eyes and began to cry.

"Please don't go...Not you too.."

He held her hand up to his forehead. But Her grip loosened before slipping out of his grasp.

Her dead distant eyes stared at him. Her smile still present on her face.

He held her body close this his chest, resting his chin upon her head sobbing. It looked as if he were to be shielding her body from death, hoping she would wake back up.

Until the world faded, her body disappearing from underneath his. everything was black... It felt as if he were falling and falling forever.

"life is just a game...And I am the conductor of that game" The deep voice spoke as Giyu plunged into an ink-black liquid.

His lungs screamed for air. He tried to swim back up to the surface, but his arms and legs felt like lead.

"you can never escape your past". He could feel hands gripping onto his legs pulling him down. Deeper into the inky abyss. "NO! I can"

"you can never escape your shame". He stopped struggling as he let his body be pulled down. "i-i can't...do anything."

"Tomioka-san, Tomioka san!".

A female's hand reached into the black liquid. holding it's hand out for Giyu to hold. But he was to far away grab on.

Giyu-sat up straight with a gasp as he woke up from a nightmare. Sweat dripped down his face.

He panted loudly. And His chest hurt badly.

"Tomioka-san, Are you okay?". Giyu felt two arms wrap around his back.

He turned to see Shinobu, Her normal smile resting upon her face as she laid on the bed under the covers.

'it's okay now...it's okay now, she's fine, she's fine. see there no blood, she fine'

"I'm fine" he lied

"Giyu, I know you're lying. Your sweating everywhere. and your heart is beating then it should.

He looked at her. considering if he should tell her about his nightmare.

"I had a nightmare."

She nodded before she spoke. "about what?"

He hesitated for a moment. "About you...You were...You were". Tears began to fall down his face. "You...Died...And I couldn't save you. I couldn't do anything."

She lifted his head up to meet her violet eyes. "I'm alive and well, Tomioka-san. Nothing to worry about. she kissed his cheek. "now let's go back to bed now okay? you need to rest."

He laid back down, wrapping his arms around her waist. closing his eyes once more. "I love you" was the last thing he heard before drifting off to sleep.

A/n-hoped you guy's enjoyed that chapter. I almost made myself cry writing this (Lol). Anyway's for the next chapter I wanted to include some of you guy's Oc character to the story (spice it up a bit).
