He pulled a gun out and aimed it at Hank. He had aimed it right at Hank's forehead for a clean shot. "Shall we test that theory"
Hank had kept his cool, this wasn't the first time a gun had been aimed at him, probably won't be the last. He wouldn't admit it but he was terrified. Terrified that Marco would kill him and then Dani would be forced to grow up without the only true parent she has. He swallowed hard as he just looked at the gun.
"If you kill me, you'll have my team and half if not all of the Chicago PD hunting you down" Hank told him sharply.
Marco chuckled dryly. "And you think that scares me? Please"
"You highly underestimate my team"
"You underestimate me"
"I'm not scared of you Marco. Not now. Not in this lifetime"
"We'll see about that"
Marco then pistol whipped him, knocking him out, Hank was knocked unconscious, his head bleeding from where he was hit. He didn't care what happened to him. All he cared about was what happened to his little girl. And that she was safe.
Meanwhile
Adam, Kevin, Erin and Jay were at one of the safe houses, they were all on the floor as the house was being shot up. Jay thanked god that Dani was upstairs being hidden from all this. The young detective knew if anything happened to the young girl, hurt or not Hank would raise all kinds of hell.
The gun fire had stopped for a brief moment, that had given the four detectives some leverage. Jay and Kevin carefully opened the door and started firing back. Kevin managed to hit one of the windows on the car. Jay had injured one of the shooters.
Once the shooters realized they couldn't do it anymore they took off. They sped down the street. Kevin chased after him trying to get a license plate. He managed to get the first three letters but that was it. He ran back.
Jay went back to help Erin and Adam up, Kevin had run back inside. "I lost them"
"How the hell did they find us?" Jay asked.
"They tailed you guys from the hospital," Adam answered.
"You guys talk this out. I'm gonna go check on Dani" Erin said, rubbing the back of her head. It was still sore from when she got whacked.
Erin went up the stairs and began looking for the young girl while the three men stayed down stairs. Jay was fuming. How could he have been so stupid and let them be followed?
"Jay, this ain't your fault man" Kevin told him.
"It might as well be" Jay says biting his jaw. "Voight trusted me to look after and protect Dani and look at what happened. We were followed. She could have been hurt, killed, or taken. Erin was already hurt. That was on me because I didn't keep my guard up"
"You couldn't have known you guys were followed. It could have happened to any of us" Adam spoke next. "Don't beat yourself up man. Dani's here with us. She's safe. She's protected. Erin got knocked out but she's fine. She'll be ok"
Jay simply just nodded trying to let Adam's words sink in. "Any more news on Voight and who took him?"
"Someone kidnapped Voight?" Kevin asked, surprised.
"Antonio is looking into with Alvin and patrol. They believe Marco could have had one or more people sneak in somehow and grab him" Adam answers, reading a text off his phone. "Will found some scrubs in the staircase, Antonio requested the footage and Kim told him that Hank was missing from his room"
"This ain't good"
"We gotta find him and fast," Jay said.
Erin was at the bottom of the steps with Dani by her side, the young girl had heard that her father was missing. Her eyes were wide, her small hand squeezed Erin's tightly. The female detective bent down to the young girl.
"It's ok sweet girl, we'll find your daddy. I promise" Erin assured her softly.
"Is...is daddy gonna die?" Dani asked, her voice full of fear.
"No, no he won't sweetie. He's very strong and very brave. He'll never ever leave you or any of us"
Her little lip had wobbled. "I want daddy"
"Oh honey" She embraced the young girl.
"Kev, you and Ruzek get her out of here. Get her someplace safe, keep your eyes on her. Erin and I will work the scene here and we'll tell Antonio" Jay told his partner.
"Copy that" Adam nodded.
He had gone over to the little girl. "Dani, come on sweetie. You're gonna hang out with me and Kevin for a little while"
"I wanna help find daddy" She sniffed.
"You can't honey, it's too dangerous, I promise the others will find him"
"Pinky swear?" She held out her pinky finger.
The young detective gave her a soft smile and hooked his pinky finger with hers. "Pinky swear"
She then nodded and Adam hoisted her up, he, Kevin and Dani then left. Antonio then left Med and went to wear Erin and Jay were to see what was going on there. He arrived to see the two looking over the scene.
"Hey you guys alright?" The senior detective asked the other two.
"Were fine. Dani is safe" Erin replied. "Adam and Kev took her some place safe"
"What happened"
"Looks like we were tailed from the hospital," Jay answered. "Fresh tire tracks when they came to a stop" He pointed to the marks on the streets. "And the bullets look to be from a 9 mill" He picked up a bullet.
Antonio sighed and rubbed a hand down his face. "Alright, this is what we do. Gather what you can from here and head back to the district. We'll work everything from there"
The two detectives nodded understanding. Once they all gathered up the evidence they went back to the district to look for Hank.
While
Hank was coming around the first thing he felt pain and a lot of it. Marco had a bat and took a few swings at Hank's ribcage. The older man screamed in pain. He refused to give in. That wasn't him.
"Tough guy eh" Marco smirked.
The gang banger turned and grabbed something, he grabbed a taser. "Let's see if your tough now"
Looking at the weapon in Marco's hand, Hank would never admit it. He was scared. Terrified in fact. Was this the way he was gonna go out? Tortured to death in a beat up house? Dani would be all alone. Justin and Serena were gone, Hank is the only true parent she has. He couldn't leave his little girl. Not in this cruel evil world. Not alone.
When Marco got close Hank flew his head forward headbutting him, the gang banger stumbled back and chuckled dryly. "You'll pay for that you son of a bitch"
"You don't scare me Marco" Hank spat. "Nothing you do scares me"
The smirk on his face grew. "Oh really? Let's really test that. Who should I go for this time? How about Antonio or Jay? Maybe the goof Adam. There's always Kevin. I could always pay dear Trudy and Kim a visit. No wait I got it, how about little Erin and Alvin"
Hank scowled, growling slightly. "Leave my team alone"
"Or what? What are you gonna do?"
Lifting himself up a bit the older man brought his legs up and launched them out kicking Marco back against the steps. "You just made a very big mistake"
He left the room and made a call. "Take them out. All of them. Then bring me the kid. I'll set it up for you"
District 21
Antonio, Jay, Erin, Alvin, Kim and Trudy were all back at the district working the case. Erin was trying to push down her feelings and emotions. Jay went over to her.
"We'll find him. Hank will be alright" Jay comforted her.
"We can't lose him Jay. He's the only father Dani has" She choked up a bit. "He's the only father I have"
The young detective embraced her. "We'll find him"
"How can you be so sure?"
"Anyone who kidnaps or threatens Hank Voight. They aren't very smart"
"I hope your right Jay"
Antonio went to Mouse. "Mouse I need the security footage pulled from Med. Find me the footage from Hank's room and find me anything from the parking lot we need to find the people that took him and the car"
"On it" The tech said quickly, starting to type.
Trudy rushed upstairs. "Dawson with me now"
The senior detective followed her. Downstairs was a kid with a box, looking over Antonio rushed over. "What can I do for you"
"A dude paid me a hundred bucks to drop this off for intelligence" The boy said.
"What was his name?"
"I don't know. He gave me this and the money. Said to drop off the box for intelligence. That's all I know"
Antonio took the box and went upstairs, Trudy got one of her patrol officers to get a description from the boy.
Going back to the squad the senior detective ran up the steps. He opened the box to see a dvd and a phone. He took out the dvd and swallowed hard. Mouse pulled the screen out. They put the dvd in, popping up on the screen was Marco beating and tasering Hank.
Hank was screaming in pain and agony, his body was bruised badly. He was bleeding from his head, his nose, and some of the wounds on his body. They were all sickened and disgusted. Erin left feeling her stomach was queasy.
The phone in the box rang. Antonio picked it up and answered it.
-Dawson.
-If you want your Sergeant back alive, I suggest you do exactly what I tell you. Marco came on.
-What do you want?
-Don't act stupid. You know what I want. I want Dani.
-I'm not involving a child in this Marco. She's just a little girl.
-Bring me Dani or I kill Voight.
Before the phone went out there was a loud BANG!
