Disclaimer: Me no own Pokémon.
Chapter 11: This is the end of the training montage( For now).
Day 3
A new day meant new challenges and today was no different either. Like all days, it started with me freshening myself up before preparing breakfast. Today was the day for training the remaining two Pokémon but before that I had to give the others their routine for the day. Charizard and Blastoise were to remain doing what they were doing yesterday but with the addition of Venusaur who needed to train on gathering energy in non sunny weather.
Pidgeot were to guard the camp for the first half of the day before lunch and I told her to continue on her weight training. As she was fully evolved, she could now start earnestly training with weights as her body would no longer have any negative impact from such training. She who started with rock that weighed around 10kg (1kg = 2.205 lbs) could now up it to around 40kg without being burdened. While this may seem a little too much, but it was the proof on how powerful a Pidgeot was compared to its pre evolved form.
After Charizard and co left to the fall, I decided to go back into the deeper part of the woods as I did in the first day. Both Haunter and Kadabra were really close in level to the wild Pokémon here just like Wartotle. However, although they were relatively strong, the wild Pokémon here were no pushover either.
I started the day with Kadabra for whom the day was a wake up call. He was relatively untouched in previous battles but a few wily Vulphix who knew Will-o-wisp ended his overconfidence. Also, a lot of Pokémon in these parts knew dark type moves and were fast enough to actually land a hit on Kadabra. He actually had to make use of his other moves like Recover for once and was able to push back eventually. However, the close fights meant that he had to take a rest every half an hour or so which took a huge chunk out of his levelling progress. But by the time the allotted four hours were done, he still gained 5 levels which took him to level 35 which wasn't that great when compared. He did learn Role Play but that move was not that important as Kadabra's innate ability was already OP.
Lunch was over pretty quickly and Pidgeot was relieved of her guard duty as I ordered Blastoise to take over for her. The other two had to continue their training but without Rain Dance to hamper them. Pidgeot decided to continue with the weight as she was not that tired. I added an extra 10kg because Pidgeot were known to be able to carry fully grown adult men on their back while flying. I wanted her to be able to battle while carryin similar weights which would strengthen the body as a whole. In fact, I myself started my weight training after eighteen, but it didn't deter me from lifting a little here and there.
For a ten year old, I was unnaturally strong physically which could be choked up to my position as 'The Chosen One'. So I could lift much more than what kids my age should be able to. But for now, I will hold back on this kind of training.
Training with Haunter was much easier as compared to Kadabra who needed a little more time to properly adapt. Her Hypnosis and Dream Eater combo was still unbeatable but I also used other moves like Night Shade and Shadow Punch regularly as these moves were also instrumental to the future. Plus being extremely reliant on one set of moves was not good and could backfire if we ever came across a Pokémon who is resistant to abnormal status or has ability like Insomnia.
As such, we went ahead and battled a lot of wild Pokémon which in the end helped Haunter gain ten levels in the four hours and took her to level 42. She also learned Destiny Bond and just needed three more levels to learn Shadow Ball. This meant that I was now completely prepared for Sabrina, even in the worst case scenario. However, Sabrina was not my end goal and as such I was not going to slack off in the next four days. I had originally wanted to hit level 40 for all my Pokémon, but as of now, even level 45 for all was not out of hand.
After dinner, I went to sleep early as usual. In the future, I would be conducting training sessions in the night but that step needed to wait until I assembled my team for the region and collected all the badges. If all went as I planned, I could get all the badges with four months to spare before the League started.
Results for the day: Kadabra: Level 35, Haunter: Level 42.
Day 4
Today was originally supposed to be the day to train Charizard and Pidgeot but I decided to scrap that plan in favour of training Kadabra. The entire day was solely for Kadabra and the others were given their own training schemes. Charizard was to practise flying with Pidgeot as opposed to the usual Flame training as his flying speed needed improvement. Blastoise needed to work on his control over his cannons while improving his overall aim and firing speed. This was done with the help of Venusaur who will provide his petals as target for Blastoise. This in turn would help Venusaur to reduce the damage he received from water attacks.
After giving the orders to the other Pokémon, we entered the deep forest again. Kadabra was now motivated to not perform as badly as yesterday and bring in good results. Yesterday was partially my fault as well as I couldn't find a good enough strategy to cover his vulnerabilities. So we decided to go on an all out offensive today instead of being on guard like yesterday. There were a lot of close calls, but in the end the training speed was much higher this way. Also Kadabra now tended to stay a long way away from his opponents just so that he could avoid their attacks using his superior speed.
The day went by in this way and we didn't even return for lunch as I had prepared lunch beforehand. The entire day, we trained and by the end of the day, Kadabra reached level 45. He learned Psychic very early so it helped in making the training easier. He learned Trick which could be a little help in the future but was not that important for now. As for Psychic, mastering it was paramount as it was going to be one of his most powerful attacks from now on. With the advent of Psychic, Confusion no longer had a purpose and I guessed that he needed a little bit more time to adjust to the power of that attack.
We returned by the evening to find that the others had returned too. I had already prepared lunch for them and kept each one's lunch separately and my Pokémon were sensible enough to eat their own food. I started cooking dinner after taking a bath in the river where I was joined by all my Pokémon as well which in turn helped to further our bond. After dinner was done, I just let everyone rest and went inside the tent to sleep. While I was laying there, I started thinking about my future course of actions.
Although I wanted to catch all of y previous Pokémon, in the end it was not a viable option. Some of them were simply not that good for a high level fight. In fact, one of my major shortcomings in my last life was the fact that I often caught weaker species of Pokémon. I only caught Weedle because there was a quest from the system. I didn't want to catch a lot like Gary, only the quality ones. There were only a few more Pokémon from the region that I wanted to capture and I already knew where to find them. As such, many of my old Pokémon would be uncaptured but I didn't feel too sad about it. After all, life is all about change.
In fact, the thirty Tauros was one of the dumbest moments of my life. I had to trade 29 of them to trainers throughout the regions since I was not able to utilize any of them. Even the main Tauros that I used never made it into my main team. Tauros, however were good bargaining chips for trade as they were exceptionally rare outside of Kanto. There were variants like Boufallant in Unova which were a variant of the Tauros that migrated from Kanto during the Ice age. Since Unova had more Pokémon fighting for survival, the Pokémon there are much more combat oriented as compared to the Kanto ones. Tauros due to its excellent physique was wanted all over the world primarily for farming. As such many regions held festivals for them for trainers who owned a Tauros so that they could trade them. However I preferred to train my own Pokémon so I wouldn't be catching them.
In fact many of the Pokémon found in other regions have their roots in Kanto which is the birthplace of the Pokémon species. As they left for new lands in search of better lives, they gradually grew different characteristics to better suit the environment over generations. This doesn't mean that all Pokémon had their roots in Kanto. There were a lot of Pokémon indigenous to the different regions.
I went to sleep soon after and the day was over.
Results for the day: Kadabra: Level 45.
Day 5
Today was a rather unique day as in I actually took four of them to the training grounds. Today was all about getting to that benchmark of level 45 and I was sure I could get it done by the end of the day. The other two who were already at the level was left with the guard duty. First up was Venusaur who with the help of the previous combo, got there in just two hours. He also learned Growth which was going to be instrumental in long battles so I asked him to practise using his attacks in Tandem with Growth. I had other plans for him but that was not to be implemented till a much later stage.
Venusaur due to being so large was also slow. His speed was compensated by his excellent use of his vines but I couldn't just put all my money on just the vines. So I ordered him to learn how to move himself faster. Make no mistake, no Venusaur would ever be as agile as say, a Charizard. But that didn't mean that he should just be a sitting duck for attacks. In fact, tanking was one of the things Venusaur were famous for due to their high defences but that made them an easy target for Pokémon with type advantages.
For training his body, first thing that he needed to do was to get used to using his legs. He needed to work on how to walk properly before we could even start on his agility. He needed to at least walk for a few hours before he could start agility training. I left him to conduct his walk before going back to continue training.
Next to follow was Pidgeot who was also really quick in reaching the required level. The fruits of her daily training were also starting to show as she was slowly getting much more agile as each fight was over. She even started doing mid air acrobatic stunts which showed that she was now used to her new body. Typicall, a newly evolved flying type Pokémon would take about a week to get fully adjusted to their body unless their evolution was delayed. But in her case, she was now completely used to it as she was doing a lot of extra training in the side.
She reached the target in two hours which spoke volumes about her increased skills and we soon went for lunch. Charizard and Kadabra were helping each other train by using Kadabra's psychic powers to increase Charizard's weight which helped him in flight training. Charizard could get much more agile as time goes by and this training was also a good way for Kadabra to polish his psychic powers. I went ahead and prepared lunch and after the regular break of an hour, I left Pidgeot and Venusaur at the camp and returned with the other two.
Venusaur was given orders to continue practising his walking and Pidgeot was taking a rest for the day. The other two decided to continue their previous training. After we reached the forest, I ordered Haunter to warm up before going to Blastoise who was going to be the focus of the training for now. Blastoise currently had no major deficiencies other than his speed, which was not something that could be improved by a lot. However, Blastoise could increase his defences to the point where even super effective attacks could no longer be much of a threat to him. But this was going to be on the back burner for now as there wasn't enough time to spare for now.
Blastoise didn't need much time to finish as he was simply too powerful for the Pokémon here. The levelling was finished in an hour. He didn't learn any new moves but his mastery over his current moves were increasing. The precision of his water gun was now extremely high and he could even snipe Pokémon flying fifty feet in the air. A few unlucky Fearow became his targets which was one of the reasons why Blastoise was able to level up as quickly as he did.
After Blastoise, it was the turn of Haunter who didn't need any particular mastery over her attacks. We tried all kinds of attacks just to make sure that she could use all of them perfectly. By the time she reached level 45, he learned Shadow Ball which was a great thing. We stopped the levelling for the day before heading back to the camp. There was a lot of time left for us so I decided to conduct a mock battle between them.
Just to avoid type advantages, the first match was Charizard vs Pidgeot. Both of them were tired so I asked them to do it in moderation. A common practise among trainers that have a full team is to let them battle each other. It was a good way to train but the best method was to let the Pokémon fight on their own and simply supervise them. It was a good way to let them try and reach their best without the pressure that losing would cause a problem to their trainer.
The match between Charizard and Pidgeot was primarily an aerial one as Pidgeot was too fast for Charizard to get a good hit in. He tried his best to connect his attacks, and to his credit, some even managed to graze her. They went back and forth with their exchange with Pidgeot also getting a few good hits in using Gust. I eventually called them off with the fight ending with no clear victor. In the first place, mock battles were not about winning as even wins would yield no exp. Charizard now understood what it will be to face a faster opponent in the air. Pidgeot also got acquainted with fighting someone that can take her out in one good hit.
The next battle was between Venusaur and Kadabra which was pretty interesting as Kadabra was able to restrict Venusaur's movement but couldn't launch an attack himself. Kadabra's entire psychic powers were spend on preventing Venusaur from launching an attack which left no room for a counter. Venusaur for the most part was trying to brute force his way out and get a hit in. Eventually Kadabra gave up as they were getting nowhere. He was teleporting around the field like crazy. He still couldn't launch an attack as the vines were always at him before he could launch a serious attack. It was like a game of whack-a-mole but evidently Kadabra faltered for just a moment and got hit. I decided to call the match there as I got what I wanted.
"Good job buddy. But you now know that you'll eventually come across Pokémon that will force you to attack very quickly right?" I said as Kadabra shouldn't get cocky in the future. The thing about Psychic types is that they tend to get overconfident if they do not fight good opponents for a good while. Hence, this would serve as a reminder for him.
The final battle for the day was between Blastoise and Haunter which was more of a shooting contest than a battle. Blastoise was continuously shooting water at Haunter who was materialising in and out to avoid them. Sometimes Haunter would counterattack with Shadow Ball which did some damage on Blastoise. Eventually, Blastoise timed one of his attacks to hit Haunter who was just materialising and that did some damage as well. I decided to call the match there as both of them now understood what they were lacking in.
Dinner was over pretty quickly and we went to sleep. While laying on the tent, I asked the system.
'Hey system? '
'Yes Host.'
'Is there a way to evolve Haunter and Kadabra without actually trading them?'
'Yes there is. It's called a local link. But the Host is currently unable to use that feature. The system advices the host to ask again after defeating Leader Sabrina.'
'I see.' Nothing else was said and I went to sleep soon after.
Results for the day: All level 45
Day 6
Today was a day reserved for Charizard. I wanted to see how much I could level him before the end of the day. I made breakfast and lunch before moving to the training grounds. I didn't give any specific orders to the others and they were free to do as they liked. Kadabra was the first to ask Venusaur to train with him while Pidgeot went back to her weights. Haunter went to practise Shadow Ball and Blastoise was shooting birds in the sky.
Charizard's training was intense today. I asked him to practise Slash on trees until they broke and had him practise Flamethrower until he ran out of flames. When he over exerted himself, Blaze kicked in after which training was given to ensure that he could use the boost provided by it sufficiently and without straining himself. The number of Berries that I ended up using was huge and a few Super Potions were used up. But the payout was worth it.
When Charizard really pushed himself, the flames on his tail sometimes showed a light blue outline which was indictor of the blue flare. But there was a lot that needed to be done before he could use it as a standard fare. Also, practising attacks didn't mean that we were slacking on levelling training. We were consistently attacking every Pokémon that we came across, sometimes even in hordes and the result was pretty fantastic. We crossed the level 50 mark by the evening when the system gave out a notification.
Achievement Unlocked: Halfway there.
Details: Reach Level 50 for your starter Pokémon.
Reward: An additional 20% boost in all stats of Charizard [Permanent] [Stackable].
Note: This achievement is one of a kind and shall not be available for any other Pokémon from now on. This is mainly because the creator loves Charizard a little too much.
When the notification rang, Charizard gave out a piercing roar which shook the entire forest before being enveloped in a bright light. Although it didn't look like he was evolving, by the time the process was finished he was now well over 4 metres tall. Also his wings were now much longer as well and looked slightly more muscular.
After the entire fiasco died down, We went back to a little more training so that Charizard could adjust to his new powers. The increase in stats was no joke as his Flamethrower was now evident as even I could feel the increase in power. It took us more than two hours before his control went back to normal and I was tired as well.
We went back to the campsite where the others were waiting patiently. Charizard's growth was not missed by them but they didn't say anything about it either, opting to question him on a further date. We finished dinner and went to sleep pretty soon afterwards and as I was tired, I went to sleep quite quickly.

That's it for today. I think this chapter was not that good but I had to write it anyways.
But the good news is that the target of 50 reviews has been achieved. So from now on, till the end of the next three chapters I will collect all the recommendation for Pokémon that you guys want in the team. The list so far is
Riolu
Deino
Houndour
Dratini is not involved as I already had plans to incorporate it into the story before someone recommended it.
The victor will be determined on the basis of which Pokémon gets the most recommendations. Also, you are free to choose any one from the first 5 Gen and that needn't be the ones mentioned above.
So review lots and let me flex.
Also, the Charizard bit was done so because I wanted him to be the strongest member of the team but if Dragonite was introduced with hacks, then that Position would have been in jeopardy. So I decided to fight Fire with fire and turn Charizard into absurdly Op for his class or outside legendaries.
The Next chapter is going to be an original creation as in that whatever happens in there is completely made up by me. Stay tuned for more and please Review.
