"Why are you here?" Came Kikyos dark deep voice, "Have you come to kill me, or perhaps your brother?"

"Be not a fool, Miko."

She stood up; she had been picking herbs. "Then, why have you come?"

"I come seeking answers; you will speak."

She turned, "If I refuse?"

"Then I will kill you, do you fear the one they call Kagome so much?"

"I do not fear her, for she is locked away, is she not?"

His eyes narrowed. "You will tell me of the jewel."

"Do you not already know?"

"The story that has been told is not truthful, I grow tired of these game, Miko, you will tell this Sesshomaru and now or should I should tell your beloved half breed of what occurs at dusk?"

It was her turn to narrow her eyes. "Did your father not write of this,"

"That is not my question, Miko."

"The Miko fell in love with a demon of great power, but he already had a demon wife and a human mate. Another loved her, she loved him, and he loved another"

That oddly sounded way to close to home to him.

"It is a never-ending cycle, do you not see?" Kikyo's word sent a tingle up his spine. "Many love her, she loves him, and he loves me."

He wanted to growl at her,

"Kagome did the very same thing as the other and the others before her; she gave her life up for love, I, however, did not."

"Naraku interfered," Sesshomaru stated,

"The Miko had meant to lock herself in the jewel knowing your father would be the only one to control its power, but in the end, she had to force her soul out, she was not as strong as she thought she was and to make matters worst your father died the same night."

Foolish all of them.

"She had meant to lock herself away so that he would take control and at night she would be his, but as you can see, her plan failed, and we were left with that horrible thing, and now the Miko Kagome has done the same thing."

"Incorrect," He stated,

"Minor details changed, but in the end, she gave her life for that thing."

"Why is the jewel's power to strong if it was only meant as a tool?" He asked,

"Lord Sesshoamru, I am surprised that you ask such a thing. Have you not seen your brother's strength when his passion is running through him? Her sadness, her love, her power, and the demons inside that she fought is what caused such a fuss, and now Kagome, whose power is much stronger than the ones before though raw and unchecked, is locked in it."

"She placed her barrier around it so that only I could touch it?"

"Why do you not ask her this yourself?"

"Hn," He would. "Did the Miko not seek a way to be set free?"

"She knew how to be released from the jewel, I believe."

"Believe?"

"They both died; tell me, did she not leave letters to your father."

He made a fist at his side. "Ah, I see, then you already have the clues to your answer."

"Kikyo!" They heard Inuyasha call,

"Coming Inuyasha," She looked at the Demon Lord. "You should return; dusk will arrive soon."

Kikyo walked away. Damn, everything pointed back to the letters. While they were full of info, there was no direct answer when it came to her freedom; she kept that a secret.

It didn't sit well with him; he would have to let Kagome read them. It was her or someone else. Since she was stuck and with him, it had to be her.

Sesshomaru turned and went back to the West.
