STEP ONE: GET GINNY'S HELP
What was the saying again, get the hard work out of the way first? Hermione groaned as she looked at her list. None of these steps would be eas,y but it would be so hard to get Ginny's help. Especially after her previous attempt to contact her through the Floo had not worked.
Maybe she could write her a letter? Multiple letters— like how Harry had told her about Hogwart's attempts to contact him after his family had prevented him from opening the original addressed to him.
But that would take so long, Hermione groaned and tried to think of any other ways she could get into contact with Ginny.
Maybe she could Floo and hope she'd pick up this time.
And then it hit her. She should go to Ginny's flat.
Why had it taken her so long to think of that? For someone so often called the Brightest witch of her age, Hermione sure felt like her head was made of fluff sometimes. Especially right now.
Hermione decided to change before going out since she was in a casual tee and shorts.
As she got dressed, she went over the steps of the plan in her head again wondering if it would even work? Would it? It would have to. Otherwise, she would be done for. There might even be enough time for this to work.
What am I doing, Hermione thought, am I really doing this? Yes. Yes, she was really doing this. Who would she be, if she didn't do this?
As she finished putting on her suede brown ankle boots, she glanced at the mirror; she normally never wore the yellow sundress with cute white flowers that Ginny had given her right after she had graduated from Hogwarts, but Hermione hoped Ginny would see it and see that Hermione was making an effort to dress up and how important this plan was to her and how she was being genuine about this plan.
Hermione stepped out of her flat and apperated.
She arrived at Ginny's doorstep with the loud crack of apparition, but luckily the neighbors did not notice so much that they decided to investigate.
Hermione rang the doorbell with a sense of urgency as she remembered that Draco had pretty limited time. A countdown that could end at any given moment according to him.
Why wouldn't Ginny open the door?
Hermione rang the doorbell again, beginning to rock back and forth on the heels of her boots. What was taking so long? Was Ginny not home? If Ginny was not home, this entire trip would have been a waste.
Just as Hermione was about to reach for the doorbell a third time, Ginny opened the door.
"Hermione?" Ginny looked surprised but opened the door more regardless, letting Hermione in.
"Hi Ginny. I know things between us has been a little…" Hermione trailed off as she wasn't sure how to complete the sentence.
Ginny nodded. They kind of just stood there in the hallway until Ginny gestured to the living room and the two of them headed over there.
Hermione saw a girl she had never seen before.
"Farah, this is Hermione. Hermione, this is Farah" Ginny introduced the two of them.
Farah, the most beautiful girl Hermione has ever seen with brown skin and dark brown eyes so dark they were almost black, smiled at Hermione as she got up from the couch and approached Hermione to shake her hand, and said, "It is so good to meet you, Hermione. What brings you here today? Ginny and I were just talking about our quidditch strategies for the next match."
"Oh, that's so cool. I hope you guys win. I haven't been to a game in ages; hopefully soon I will have some free time and can com. But yea, I'm just here to ask for Ginny's help. I apologize for interrupting your meeting. I had no idea Ginny was in the middle of a quidditch meeting." Hermione smiled at the girl.
Ginny's friend was so nice and polite.
"No worries, we were just wrapping up. I need to get to a meeting with the brand sponsoring me soon anyway. They are working on a custom quidditch hijab for me at the moment," Farah smiled before saying goodbye to the two girls and leaving the apartment.
Ginny and Hermione sat down and Hemrione almost started to speak, but Ginny cut her off.
"I did not want Farah to be dragged into this mess," Ginny began, "otherwise I would not have even let you in. So whatever you have to say, say it quickly."
So Ginny was still upset with her, Hermione thought, but at least she was willing to listen.
"I came up with a plan to apologize to Draco," Hermione started quickly, wanting to get it all out. She rushed through her plan as she described it to Ginny, who was staring at her with a thoughtful look on her eyes.
"Okay…" Ginny slowly responded, clearly still gathering her thoughts. "You really need me, don't you?"
Hermione nodded in response. Had she been convincing enough? A million thoughts raced through Hermione's head as she waited for Ginny to continue.
"Fine," Ginny said with a small huff before smiling, "You have to make it up to me though for everything."
"Yes, of course," Hermione laughed with relief, "My treat next time at Fortescue's?"
"Deal, let's shake on it," Ginny responded, sticking her hand out and the two women shook hands before putting their heads together to figure out the rest of their plan.
AN: I know I said last time that I would update soon, and I did honestly plan to! I just couldn't figure out how to do the second half of this chapter right and procrastinated on the dialogue, which is sort of my weakest point when it comes to writing. But practice makes perfect and hopefully an improvement can be seen as I go through this story! Also this chapter is a lot longer than the last one, yay! Also, I did add in an OC in this chapter. I hope you guys like her! She probably won't have too much involvement in the rest of the story unless I need her to but yea! Beyond that, I have not written Chapter 10 yet but I do have an outline so hopefully I will get it to you guys soon! And as always I would really appreciate it if you reviewed! Please let me know if you liked it, or have any constructive criticism, I will try to take it into consideration as I do wish to improve my writing skills! Thanks for reading! :)
