EXT. Outside the Police Department Building - DAY (Scene 4.3)
Reid, Rossi, and JJ head inside. Hotch hangs back. Hotch flips open his cell phone.
Hotch: Jessica, hey, is everything alright?
Jessica: Jack is sick- we're good but I thought you'd want to know
Hotch: Thank you- what's wrong?
Jessica: I don't- They're running tests
Hotch: Tests? Where are you?
Jessica: Children's National
Hotch: What- Jessica, how bad is this?
Hotch starts to get increasingly worried. Due to a combination of the heat from the weather (plus his suit) and nerves, his brow began to sweat profusely. He wiped his brow and paced.
Jessica: He's pretty sick. He had a seizure
Hotch: Alright. I'm coming back.
Jessica: No, no. Finish your case I've got him.
Hotch looks upset to leave his son very ill at the hospital, but begrudgingly agrees and ends the call. He puts his phone away, but stands outside for a minute, trying to collect himself before heading inside. Rossi is standing at the door, he must have noticed that Hotch stayed back. He looks at Hotch, silently asking for an explanation
Hotch: Jack's sick
Hotch didn't even stop walking to address Rossi directly when he said that, just walked straight past to the conference room. Rossi isn't offended
