A few nights earlier

Julius waited in his room; his window wide open. He had hoped Hector would actually decide to take him up on his offer and meet him here, but it was starting to seem like he would never show up.

"Alright, Rose." Said a voice, and Julius turned to see Hector materialize in the window opening, hanging from a nearby tree by his tail.

"You wanted to see me," he said, flipping into the room, "so, here I am."

"I just want to ask you a few things," Julius said, standing up.

"Oh, yeah? Like what?"

"Well, to start, I just learned that I am being put into a bit of a makeshift team for the Vytal tournament, but we still need a fourth member. I know you said you wanted to go on your own, but you're a pretty good fighter. We could use someone like you. Once we win the tournament, you can be on your merry way. Deal?"

Hector thought for a moment; this would definitely distract him from his mission, but it might also be an opportunity for him to get the trust of those opposing the White Fang. He decided to take that chance.

"Well," he said, "I always did want to be in the tournament."

"So, you're in?" Julius asked.

Hector nodded, "Why not?"

Julius smiled, "Alright. I'll tell Ozpin in the morning."

"Is that the only thing you wanted to talk to me about?"

"No. There was one other thing. It's clear you hate the White Fang, so I'm here to offer you something."

This got Hector's interest: "What could you possibly offer me?"

"An alliance."

"I'm listening."

"I may not seem like the kind of type to do something like this, but I've been working on getting together a more underground kind of team. We work behind the scenes, rooting out and striking whatever evil organization comes around. I've got two other members on already, but I still need one more; preferably someone who is willing to stand up to the White Fang."

"I'm in." Hector said without hesitation.

Julius looked in surprise: "Just like that? I still got a whole speech here."

"Just like that. I've been hitting the White Fang for a while since I left. Knowing you well enough to trust you, I'm fine with joining this alliance."

"Well, alright then," Julius said, and he took out his scroll, typing something into it.

"What are you doing?" Hector asked.

"I'm inputting your name into the team file. Hopefully, this should finally get us the team name." Julius said, and after a few moments, said, "There." And showed the file to Hector. Hector looked at the screen and saw four different people on it: Julius, Roman, himself, and Slayer.

"Wait, Torchwick is in on this?" Hector asked, surprised.

Julius nodded: "He's been my eyes and ears in the crime dealings lately, as well as a few other things. He's a pretty good actor: pretending to be a full on criminal; he's got everyone fooled but the ones on this team."

"Is that right?"

Julius nodded: "With you added, the team is now official. I'm calling us Team JRHD."

"Jarhead? Wasn't that the name of a special Atlas team from a long time ago?"

"Yeah, but I think they changed the name now to something else. I can't remember what at the moment, but you get the idea."

Hector nodded: "Well then. JRHD it is."

With that, the two shook hands, solidifying the alliance.

Back in present time

Team RWBY and RHPD just finished watching JNPR's victory over Team BRNZ. A fight that started as a fight, but ended with a rather amusing conversation and Nora straight up hitting everyone out of the arena with her hammer. The final fight of the day was between SSSN and INDG.

"Well," Julius said, "Looks like they saved the most amusing for last."

The others nodded in agreement.

"Good luck, Neptune!" Weiss yelled. Neptune pointed back at her from the arena, then noticed Team NDGO and winked at them.

"Ladies…" he said.

Weiss, angered by seeing this, then pointed and shouted: "Break his face, NDGO!"

Then. The two halves of the arena were decided. The first to appear was a rocky desert.

"Yeah!" one of the NDGO members said, "Home field advantage!"

"Don't get too cocky," Sun said, "I happen to be from Vacuo myself."

"Oooh, the ocean!" another NDGO member said as the second arena half was revealed to be a beach island surrounded by water and had a wrecked ship on the island. Neptune spun around, saw the water, and got a terrified look in his eyes.

"Uhhh, what's wrong with Neptune?" Ruby asked. Blake and Julius had their heads in their hands, shaking their heads in disappointment; they both realized the same thing.

"Oh no," Blake said.

"Oh no is right," Julius said.

"Why? What's wrong?" Ruby asked.

"Neptune's scared of water." Julius said.

"Wait, his name's Neptune, and he's scared of water?" Slayer asked, confused.

"I'm already microwaving my brain trying to find logic in that." Hector said.

"Why would you microwave your brain?" Penny asked. Before Slayer could explain that it was a figure of speech, Oobleck started the fight.

"3 ,2, 1, BEGIN!" he said. The second he did, Neptune shot up behind Team NDGO and went up to the top of the rocky cliff.

"Neptune!" Sun said, "What are you doing?!"

"Uhhh, getting the high ground!" Neptune replied.

"On the enemy's side?"

"They would never expect it!"

"He's not wrong." Dew said.

"Let's get em," Nebula, the NDGO leader, shouted, and the fight began. Sage went down first after being blown away by Gwen's dust tornado. Then, SSSN evened the playing field by taking down one of their members, Gwen. The fight continued on for a bit longer, with Neptune staying as far away from the water as humanly possible. Sun ended up next to one of the trees on the island in his battle with Dew. Getting an idea, he hit the tree, catching the two coconuts that fell and throwing them at his opponent. However, Gwen knocked them back with her staff, and one of them nailed Scarlet in the groin, immediately KO'ing him.

Julius, Slayer, and Hector cringed.

"That seemed a BIT much." Slayer said.

"He'll definitely be feeling THAT in the morning." Hector said.

"He's probably feeling it right now." Julius said.

Weiss rolled her eyes: "Boys…" she said.

Back down in the arena, Sun was struggling to hold his own against the rest of NDGO while Neptune stood with his back to the water doing absolutely nothing.

"Neptune!" Sun yelled, "What are you doing?"

"Oh, you know!" Neptune said, "Just guarding this sector, yeah, just guarding."

"There's nothing TO guard, Neptune!"

"Guard this area, right."

Hector yelled from the seats: "Get your head in the game, you big baby!"

Blake rolled her eyes in amusement; Hector may have left the White Fang, but he still retained that competitive enthusiasm she and Ilia always found annoying yet fun.

"I could really use some help, Neptune!" Sun yelled.

"Uh, yeah, well, I think it would be better if you guys came over here!" Neptune said, still trying to avoid the water.

"I know you're afraid of water, but I could really use some help!" Sun shouted.

"Fine, I will, just get out of the water!" Neptune yelled. Sun leapt bac from the beach and landed behind Neptune, who then turned his weapon to electric spear mode and, tiptoeing to the water as fast as he could, jammed the spear into the water, sending massive amount of electricity through it and KO'ing all three of the Team NDGO members in the water.

"And with that, Team SSSN comes out victorious." Port said, "You know what I would call that victory?"

"Shocking?" Oobleck asked.

"No. Well earned. What you said was terrible."

Down in the arena, Neptune and Sun were doing a ridiculous victory dance.

"Well, looks like the little dorks get to move on." Yang said.

"It would seem so," Slayer said.

"Neptune and I are gonna have a talk about his fear of water," Hector said.

"I don't think your idea of a "talk" is going to help with anything," Blake said, "You're probably going to just shove him into the fountain."

"And that's a problem how?" Hector asked. Julius rolled his eyes in amusement; how Blake and Hector were EVER friends seemed almost a

Meanwhile, in a bar outside of town, the bartender, as well as a gruff man with a red cape and black hair, watched the fight unfold.

"Well, that fight was pretty close," the bartender said.

The other man just grunted.

"Come on," the bartender said, "You've been sitting here all day like that. What fight are you here for?"

The man looked behind him to see an Atlesian transport with blue streamer-like attachments on the engines fly towards one of the Beacon landing pads.

"That one," the man said, standing up and leaving the bar.

Back in the arena, Oobleck's voice came over the PA.

"And that concludes the fights for today. Everyone please leave the coliseum in a CALM AND ORDERLY FASHION!"

"Well, looks like we gotta go," Slayer said, "the general wanted Penny and I to report to him after the fights."

"You go on ahead," Julius said, "We'll hang later."

Slayer and Penny walked off, Penny waving back to Ruby. Then, Weiss looked up, noticing the same transport fly overhead, and a big smile appeared on her face.

Julius looked up at the transport: "You know who's on that?" he asked.

"She's here." Weiss said, quietly but happily.

Julius looked back up, then nodded his head in understanding; there was only one person Weiss would be this happy about seeing.

Winter had arrived.
