Remus POV
We had no classes today since it was a Saturday, so we slept in until I woke everyone up by throwing pillows at them, (which may or may not have caused a pillow fight). Then, since it was December, and it was snowing we decided to go have a snowball fight.
After I was sure my body was ice I said "Can we go back in?" I said my teeth chattering. I think I'd gotten to many snowball hits
"Y-yea I agree with R-Remus." Said Peter who also looked like if he stayed out here any longer, he would become a popsicle.
"Sure! We can go in the common, and discuss a few prank ideas, we came up with." Said Sirius giving a sly grin.
"With hot chocolate!" Said James grinning back
We made a stop to the kitchen for hot chocolate then went to sit by the fire in the common room. Sirius took out his list and started reading off of it. "Put a potion in the lunches to make everyone grow beards, bring snow into the common room, Curse the Slytherins- "He was about to go on but I stopped him.
"Wait wait wait. I have another idea, not that those are bad ideas," I added. "If we want to do a really good prank, I have something in mind.
Everyone was looking at me, closely no doubt wanting to hear my idea.
"Well, what do you suggest Remus?" James asked grinning
"Well," I drawled. "We could…" I leaned in closer to tell them my idea. "That's brilliant!" Peter said grinning.
"Yeah!" Said James, and Sirius.
We decided to do our prank on Christmas since that's when it would make most since to do it. Until then the marauders were going to do Hogwarts a favor, and lay low.
Since we decided what prank we would do, we were bored. I suggested we get an early start on homework, but my idea got turned down by everyone.
But in the end we had no idea what to do so my idea won, and we went to the Great Hall, to finish up work.
I was just showing Peter how to do the transfiguration homework, when Professor McGonagall came up to us.
"Well, boys it's nice to know that you are doing your homework." She brought up a list. "I need to know whether or not you are staying at Hogwarts for Christmas break."
Since none of us had any plans besides the prank we all signed the list to stay. According to Sirius, his younger brother, and parents were going somewhere to celebrate Regulus for being a "good boy "and, James said that his parents went to visit his grandparents. Me, and Peter didn't have any plans.
After we all finished our work, we went back to the common room where we ran into Lily. I didn't know weather to laugh or save my friends. Lily was looking at them like they were disgusting things that she scraped from the bottom of her shoe. James was looking at her with the same look. I quickly broke the tension by saying, "hey Lily" She turned to me, and said "Hi Remus? Are you planning on staying at Hogwarts during break?"
"Yup! What about you?"
"I'm going home. I miss my family a lot. Even though, someone might not have missed me." She added quietly and sadly.
I knew who she was talking about. When we were in the library, Lily told me about how her older sister Petunia was jealous that she wasn't a witch, like Lily, and how she even asked Professor Dumbledore if she could come to Hogwarts. Lily tried to comfort Petunia, but no luck.
I felt like if we stood in silence for any longer a bomb would blow up, so I quickly said, "We should go Lily." I think everyone got my hint, so we all separated.
When we were in our dorm, James said, "I don't know how you can stand her Remus, you must have a spell or something."
"Nope. No spell, just a face-to-face conversation. You should get to know her better."
James shrugged, and plopped down into the bed.
"Guys cheer up! Tommarow' s quidditch!" Sirius said jumping up and down.
"Oh yea ! I almost forgot!" James said getting up. "I can't wait for when I get to try out for the team."
"Who's it against?" Peter asked.
"Slytherin" I groaned.
"Don't worry Remus, Gryffindor will knock the Slytherins back to the dungeons." Said James grinning.
We spent the next hours studying and reviewing on quizzes, (though I think James was secretly writing down prank ideas), having pillow fights, and trying to transfigure a flobberworm into an owl (no luck). Finally, it was around 10, so I said, "Lets go to sleep, if you guys don't wake up tommarow I'm going to leave you and go see quidditch myself."
When I finished, I saw Sirius mimicking me behind my back, so I conjured an extra pillow, and threw it right in his face. I quickly closed the curtains to my bed, so Sirius couldn't do throw it back. I said good night to my friends, and fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
Lol, I think its a tradition to end my chapters with them sleeping. Hehe I'm gonna be mean and not tell you guys the prank idea that Remus had until actual Christmas. (Sorry!) Please review!
