Only two people have just shown up in his tower without being his followers at the time and they had intimate knowledge of him and the Netherworld Tower, which Strange does not. If you've ever played the second game, you'd know that happens.

Because they have an enemy that is still attempting to take over the city? Because I haven't written it hitting them yet?

Chapter 10:
Xavier's School of Gifted Slaves
Grim came out of his Netherworld gate in the Latvarian embassy to find his subservient slave, Dr. Doom waiting for him.
"My lord, I was informed you would be coming, so I prepared distractions for you," Doom said, gesturing to what used to be known as doombots, but modified to suit their new master's look. The newly named Overbots activated their hologram matrixes to appear as identical versions of Grim himself.
"Well done, Victor," Grim said, "I plan to take a little trip so have some of the Overbots give anyone watching a distraction."
X-23, Punisher, and Selene stepped up behind their master as he gave the former tyrant his orders.
"My lord, maybe we should have Satana, Morgan, and that annoying pest join them to add some additional distraction?" Selene suggested.
"Not a bad idea," Grim said, "Do it, Victor."
"As you command. Doom will achieve your success," Doom nodded and headed off to do as he was ordered.
"See that you do," Grim said before Grim and his allies headed off, using a secret passage Doom had set up long before he became a slave to the overlord.
Grim and his team sat in the tram that would take them through the tunnel.
"So, how have none of the Avengers found this tunnel anyway?" X-23 asked.
"I was curious about that as well," Selene said, "Doom's used his admittedly sophisticated technology and magical abilities to put this tunnel out of phase with this dimension. Makes it impossible to detect the tunnel."
"Explains how he's able to move his tech throughout the city when he's on one of his attacks," Grim said.
"So, what is this place that we're assaulting?" Castle asked, "Should we expect major resistance?"
"Probably," Grim said, "But that's why we're going. There are plenty of potential slaves for us to collect there. They'll be a big help when launch larger assaults on more heavily guarded locations."
"I'm actually familiar with the place," Selene said, "It's a school that trains young mutants in using their abilities and home to a vigilante group of them. They've involved themselves in the situations of others including myself. Their skills are not to be underestimated."
"Yes, and there's someone there that Laura would no doubt like to meet," Grim said.
"Who's that?" she asked, a curious expression on her face.
"Your father," Grim replied.
She looked at him in shock, "What?"
"Well, not exactly your father, but I had the Tinkerer examine some of the files from where we found you. Turns out you were cloned from someone named Logan or the Wolverine. I wasn't familiar with the name until Black Widow and Emma Frost told me more about the different teams they know about, including the members and one on both teams is known as Wolverine. I'm guessing it's the same one."
"Why wasn't I told?" Laura asked.
"Wouldn't have done any good. If you knew before we were ready to go after them, nothing would have changed," Grim said.
"I suppose," she said, "I want to deal with him myself."
"I figured you would," the overlord replied.
They came out of the tunnel to find a van waiting for them. Emma Frost was waiting for them inside it.
"Hello, my Overlord, I trust we're ready to deal with them?" Frost asked.
"Yes, you informed our inside people of our impending arrival?" Grim asked.
"Yes, they'll deactivate the automatic defenses and will do what they can about the defenders before we arrive," she said.
"Good," Grim said as the van drove off towards the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. After a couple hours, they pulled up in front of a large gate marking the entrance for the large estate. Grim and his followers came out of the van and moved to the gate. Grim thrust his arm out and sent a surge of the symbiotes' tentacles out of this armor to grab the metal fence and ripped it off its hinges. Grim then summoned a fireball in his hand and torched a good portion of the perfectly maintained shrubbery.
"That should get their attention," Grim said and, sure enough, within minutes, a group of people dressed in matching jumpsuits charged out of the main building to face off against the Overlord and his allies.
"You must be the overlord we've been warned about," the man in the middle, who was clearly the leader and was wearing a visor, said.
"Glad to see my reputation precedes me," Grim said, unworried by the numbers as his allies and minions took their positions around him.
Grim looked around at the motley crew before him, having learned many of their codenames if not their real ones: Cyclops, Wolverine, Storm, Colossus, Rogue, Psylocke, Jean Grey, Ice Man, Angel, and Beast.
"My stars and garters, you were foolish to think you could take us on by yourselves," Beast stated, "Our numbers alone will far surpass yours when the rest of our team arrives."
"You think so, huh?" Grim said, smirking beneath his helmet, "They do seem to be dragging their feet and that beloved Professor of yours seems to be a tad silent. I wonder why that is."
"What did you do? Tell us!" Cyclops demanded, his eyes flashing behind his visor.
"Me?" Grim asked with a mockingly shocked and confused tone, "I just got here. What could I have possibly done?"
"Doesn't matter!" Wolverine growled, "I say we tear him to shreds here and now! What he did to Cap is enough to deserve a bloody death!"
"Aw, don't be like that," Grim said, "Even after I helped bring about this little family reunion, too."
"What?" Wolverine asked as Laura stepped forward and extending her claws, growling at the man that caused her creation.
Punisher, meanwhile, was remaining silent and aiming a carbine at the various mutants, waiting to see who would make the first move.
"Enough talk!" Storm said as thunder clouds began to form overhead, "We end him here and now!"
"Agreed, we've stalled long enough," Grim smirked, "Now!"
Just then, Rogue, who had been unnoticed as she was slowly moving behind her supposed allies, before ripping her gloves off to grab Jean's face, draining her of her energy and knocking her unconscious.
"Rogue? What are you doing!?" Ice Man demanded seconds before a psionic blade pierced his chest and he looked back to see Psylocke was there holding the blade and the last words he heard were, "For the overlord."
Wolverine tried to charge at Grim, but Laura intercepted him with a hard tackle, driving her blades into his guts over and over. With a roar, he threw her off of him, but she flipped in mid-air to land on all fours and charge again, extending the claws in her feet to deliver hard kicks to his sides.
Punisher opened fire on Angel and Beast who used their speed and agility to dodge out of the way of his shots as well as the lobbed fireballs of the red minions. The super soldier serum-powered browns attacked Colossus with the greens climbing over him. Psylocke, now exposed to be a corrupted servant of the overlord, used psionic whips and arrows to drag Storm closer to the ground where she had less freedom to aim her weather-based attacks. Selene was using her magic to block the forces from attacks from Storm and Cyclops. Emma Frost was using her powers to keep Jean Grey asleep. Grim and Rogue were attempting to get close to the X-men field leader, but Cyclops wasn't making it easy for them with his optic blasts and training.
Grim shot his rifle gauntlet at Cyclops, winging the X-men leader just as he fired a beam at Rogue. His wild blast hit Storm instead, knocking her out and sending her plummeting to the ground. With her out of the fight, Psylocke turned her attention to Colossus who was frantically throwing the greens and browns off of him, only for them to jump back on him. Grim followed up his attack on the visor-wearing X-man with a swing of his mace, knocking him hard across the face.
Rogue grabbed the wounded man's head and ripped his visor off to force him to fire another blast, this time hitting Wolverine hard as he tried to tackle Laura while she was off-balanced. Rogue then hit Cyclops hard to knock him unconscious. Psylocke used her psionic whip to wrap around Colossus's legs and pull them out from under him. As soon as he hit the ground, the Super Browns piled on him and started pounding on him. Eventually, even the metal-skinned mutant's strength gave in and he was beaten into submission.
Grim grabbed one of the greens by the back of its neck and threw him at the distracted Angel. The thrown green grabbed onto Angel's back and jabbed the wrist-mounted blades attached to his right arm into Angel's right wing.
The winged mutant cried out in pain and plummeted to the ground, crashing hard to the ground. The green followed up by grabbing the back of his head and slamming it into the ground over and over, blooding his face and knocking him out. Beast tried to go to his winged comrade's assistance, but Castle took advantage of the Beast's distraction and managed to wing the blue-furred mutant, knocking him to the ground. The super browns piled on him, keeping him from getting back up.
"Bastard!" Wolverine shouted at Grim when he saw the last of his allies and friends taken down, "I'll gut you like a fucking fish!"
"Just try it!" Laura shouted, "You won't take my master from me!"
"I'll do that and I snap you out of whatever mind control this bastard put you under," he growled.
"He doesn't have me under any mind control," she growled, "He gave me a place to belong and I will do anything to help him! Including taking you down!" she finished by driving a hard, clawed kick to her "father's" neck, making him cough up blood.
While he was wounded, Grim ran up and smashed Wolverine across the face, knocking him to the ground. Grim then reached behind his back to pull something out that he had Doom and the Tinkerer build for him. It appeared to be a metallic collar which he slapped onto the neck of the healing Wolverine.
Laura then grabbed his arms to slap a pair of manacles on his wrists.
"You think this will stop me!?" Wolverine roared, "I'll get out of these even if I have to rip my skin off!"
"Not sure that's a good idea," Grim said, smirking beneath his helmet, "Maybe you didn't notice that your wounds aren't healing anymore. A little something I had my tech guys make up just for you. Deactivates the x-gene that gives you your healing factor. You get any more serious injuries and you'll die. That would be unfortunate since I have much more interesting plans for you."
"I'm gonna kill you," the savage mutant growled.
"No, you're not," Grim smirked, before turning to Laura, "Keep an eye on him while we go collect our newest servants, starting with these ones right here."
Grim went to work hitting each of the captured X-men, save for Wolverine, with the Evil Presence spell. Each of them had their souls, their very beings, changed into dark forms of them; ones completely loyal to Grim.
"Rogue, Elizabeth, take me to the rest of the students," Grim ordered.
"Yes, Master," the two women said before they led him into the main building.
"So, what did you manage to do with the rest of these so-called heroes?" Grim asked his two double agents.
"Most of them we sealed in their rooms. There's a procedure in place in case someone attacks and the younger students need to be protected. Prevents anyone from make into or out of the rooms. The professor, we sedated with the breakfast. Everyone else we locked in the Danger Room where they were training at the time," Psylocke said.
"Good, let's get to work then," Grim said, "Our army can use some new blood."
Grim went inside the building and set to work corrupting every last student and teacher into his loyal slaves. A few tried to resist, to fight back, but with Rogue and Psylocke at his side, Grim easily had them held down and corrupted as well. Once every last mutant in the school was changed, Grim returned to the courtyard where Laura had impaled Wolverine with a piece of the metal fence through his gut. The older man growled and tried to free himself, but Laura kept him in place.
"So, what are you going to do with him?" Laura asked, "Corrupt or kill?"
"Do you have a preference?" Grim asked.
"Would it matter?" she responded.
"Not really," Grim replied, "Just curious."
"No, I don't care what you do with him," she said, "He might be my 'father' but that means nothing."
"Good, because I have a plan for him," Grim said before tossing her a pair of cuffs, "Found those while searching Beast's lab. Put them on him."
Laura immediately did as she was ordered before the Super Browns grabbed Wolverine and lifted him up, easily holding him in place despite the wild man trying to free himself from their superstrong grasp. Grim led the way to the basement where there was a mostly empty storage room.
"What are we waiting for?" X-23 asked as the group waited just inside the door.
"That," Grim said, pointing to the ground where a lump suddenly formed and bubbled up and down. Suddenly, massive spikes burst out of the ground and a Netherworld portal was formed before them. "Just in time, Grubby."
The digger minion dusted himself off from where he pulled himself out of the ground before saluting his lord and master. Grim and the others headed through the portal.
"Greetings, my lord," Gnarl said, "Might I ask what you plan to do with this wild creature? Are you going to keep him as a pet?"
"Tempting, but no," Grim smirked, "We'll be taking him to the forge. He can…help us there."
"I'm quite curious how, my lord. He doesn't seem too eager to help," Gnarl said.
"I'm not going to give him a choice," Grim said as he and the rest of his group carried Wolverine to the forge. Grim brought them to a halt above the main pool of lava that is used to forge the weapons and armor of the overlord and his forces.
"I'm gonna get out of this and rip all of you to shreds!" Wolverine roared, "Even if you throw me in there, I'll just get out again and kill you!"
"No, you won't," Grim said, "This isn't just molten rock from the Earth, but mixed with the magic of the Netherworld. It'll melt everything that falls inside and we can forge it into whatever we wish. Maybe I'll have your skeleton turned into a chamber pot."
With that, Grim pushed Wolverine in the forge while he roared in resistance as he fell. The wild hero tried to climb out, but the heat and magical molten rock worked too quickly and he quickly melted down into nothing.
"What shall we make from his carcass, Master?" Giblet asked.
"Hmm, make some equipment for our greens," Grim said, "I imagine you could make something interesting for them."
"Yes, mastah!" Giblet said, excitedly before getting to work.
"So, my lord, where are we going to next?" Gnarl asked.
"We need to increase our more scientific team," Grim said, "So we'll 'recruit' some more brainiacs."
Back at the Avengers Tower
Tony Stark sat in his private room, sipping another glass of bourbon as he stared off into space. His door suddenly opened and Pepper walked right in.
"Tony, what are you doing in here?" she asked.
"What's it look like? I'm drinking," Stark said, holding up his glass.
"Should you really be working right now? Don't you think you should be doing some work? What with the overlord still out there?" she asked.
"You think I don't know that!?" Tony shouted standing up and throwing the glass against the wall, "My friend, the best guy I've ever met, is dead because of that bastard and we can't do shit against him! So, forgive me if I wanna dull the pain with a fucking drink! Now, get out!"
"Fine," she said before turning and leaving the room, closing the door behind her.
Stark collapsed back in the chair, sighing.
Meanwhile, Pepper smirked outside his room, "Master will enjoy hearing about this."
With Dr. Strange, Mary Jane, and Spider-man
Mary Jane cried out in pain as she dropped the sword Strange had gifted her with.
"You need to let it do what it is meant to," Strange said.
"It hurts!" she said, panting.
"Because you're resisting it," Strange said, "You have to open yourself to it, let it in."
"Isn't there another way to do this?" Spider-man asked.
"No," Strange said, "This is the only sure way of taking the Overlord down. Now, try again."
"You sure about this, MJ?" Spidey asked.
"People are dying," MJ said as she moved to grab the sword again, "If I can help in any way, I will."
A/N: And there's chapter 10! Please remember to review with any comments, question, concerns, or constructive criticism that you might have. So, I'm sorry it's taken so long for me to update my stories. Between getting sick (not the 'rona, but still not fun), working three jobs, and other life stuff, I just haven't had the time. Sorry again.
