Now for my question: Do Sonic fans sometimes do stuff better than what SEGA does?
Sonic: They ALWAYS do things better than Sega! Check out a bunch of Sonic Forces mods that improve level designs, physics, and even the Overclocked mod which improves the story. You'll see what I mean. Also, compare Sonic Mania, which was made by fans, to an unmodded Sonic Forces.

I take it you are likely getting sick of Green Hill Syndrome, but how do you feel in general about almost all your adventures starting somewhere green? I get that your personality may find them more free to run around in compared to a city, but all but four of your main adventures [that I know of] start in some tropical or plains-like area (the exceptions being Under Ground Zone, City Escape, Route 99, and Tropical Resort.)
I don't mind it as it's just a level theme that in itself does not affect gameplay or level design, but it does seem like a lot of the recent adventures use tropical island-themed levels. And there's quite a few with a certain checkerboard ground type…
Sonic: You make a good point, but at least these Green Hill knockoffs have SOMETHING to differentiate from the typical Green Hill Zone. Even Emerald Hill Zone feels different. And I actually PREFER that zone over Green Hill since it has better music, greener grass, a less generic name, and for bonus points, it's where I met my buddy Tails.
Tails: Yeah. And Sonic's not the only franchise where the game typically starts in a grassland world. Just go onto TV Tropes, and search the trope "Green Hill Zone" (yes, a trope was named after Sonic's iconic level). You'll see tons of examples of grassland starting levels. You can also look up "Palmtree Panic" (Sonic CD!) to see examples of starting beach levels.

Sonic: Don't… remind me… My favorite memory was the time where Eggman and I accidentally injured Santa in a battle we had, so we were forced to deliver presents for him. And… we actually had fun with it. For once, we set aside our differences and acted like true friends. That tells me that there is a soft side in the Eggster, which I can appreciate. But we're still enemies. Christmas is the one day we act as friends, but the other 364 days, he'll dedicate his life to destroying me.
Tails: At least you managed to see a nicer side to Eggman. That's what matters.

Sonic: A Metal you wouldn't be that bad, I always have fun fighting him. Maybe I could have you fight Metal one day. You'll see what I mean.
IDW Sonic: Anyways, it's a weird feeling the first time, but once you get used to it, you'll enjoy it. So the wisps phase into your body and convert some of their hyper-go-on energy into fuel that you can use. Then depending on the type of wisp you use, you undergo a temporary transformation. They usually make you invincible, but there are some exceptions.
Tails: Why don't you see it for yourself.
A cyan wisp appears and goes inside Sonic X.
Sonic X: Wait, wha?!

Sonic X transforms into a cyan laser and bounces all over the place at super fast speed before the wisp exits.

Sonic: Yeah, that is true. They did have a lot to work with. However, there does need to be some more original plots so the show has an identity of its own. So the Metarex Saga was welcome.

Sonic: Maybe, but here's the thing. Blaze is entirely different from me. Gender, personality, species, personality, looks. They all contrast from me. Eggman Nega on the other hand is barely any different from Eggman besides having a different color scheme. His name is literally just Eggman's with the word "Nega" added to it. The Rivals series even retcons the whole dimension thing, saying that Nega is Eggman's more evil descendent. So, I'm not sure what to think.
