I completely forgot an in- or outro for last chapter so, well, here's one. I'm kind of done with the serious stuff for now, so how about we make it a little more Gorillaz-ish, huh? Throw in some stuff that's way to random for a normal story like in the actual Gorillaz lore? A green baby, maybe?
The past week had been great. Murdoc had never been in such a good mood, not even 2D eating his favorite crackers could wipe the smile of his face. Mainly because he was 'getting it on' with his oh-so-lovely girlfriend again, but he had been looking forward to this particular day all week. Today was the day his favorite liquor store opened up again. It had been shut down because one of the liquor brands apparently contained some sort of drug (which is the brand Murdoc loves so much ofcourse), but the store manager assured that he got rid of it and was just going to sell unlaced liquor now. Ofcourse, that was a lie and Murdoc knew that. He was already getting ready to leave when Lily walked into the bathroom.
"Oh, goodmorning", Lily yawned while ruffling her already ruffled hair. She gave Murdoc a kiss on the cheek and turned on the sink to brush her teeth.
"Mornin'. Are yew comin' with me? I was just about to go to that old liquorshop I love so much. I've been waitin' to have a droplet of Flybane Jenkins since it closed down a few years ago", Murdoc excitedly said with his mouth full of toothpaste.
"Oh, really? Only heard of it a few thousand times this week, must've forgotten", Lily laughed as Murdoc rolled his eyes. "But I have to pass, I was going to check out that old videogame shop on the corner."
"Videogames? Satan, Noodle and D really fouled yew up."
Lily poked him in the side, receiving a toothpasty choke from Murdoc, before she spoke, "You go get your liquor and I'll go get my games, you grumpy old goth"
"Fine, fine, your loss!", Murdoc said as he patted Lily's head and left the room.
Lily chuckled to herself and got dressed. She swiftly grabbed her shoes and jacket and left the house. She was in a great mood too, ofcourse. Things with Murdoc had been going great and she was glad school was almost over. In a week summer break started and she could enjoy everyday with her weird little family. Oh, how she loved that little family. Maybe even more than her regul- oh crap, my regular family! I'm going to have to tell my mom! Lily suddenly got nervous. She didn't know how her mom would respond, especially after keeping the Sallow-situation a secret for almost a year now. At first, she didn't want to tell her mom, but after a while she kind of forgot about it. She was so occupied with Murdoc and the band, trying to become accustomed to her new lifestyle. How could she tell her mother she got abused by her host parents, almost raped by the father, moved in with a somewhat complete stranger and eventually fell in love with that exact stranger when it happened almost a year ago? She quickly shook those thoughts from her head, trying hard just to focus on the videogamestore's location, which worked as the store slowly came into sight. It was a small shop, illuminated with all kinds of game related neon signs and covered in stickers, flyers and posters of movies she'd never even heard of. She peeked inside before actually entering.
She quickly found what she was looking for and was already making her way back home. '2D's going to lose his mind over this.' She found exactly what she was looking for in the shop, 'Evil Dead: Hail to the king!' She got all excited when the front door of Kong's came into sight. She could already hear 2D's little squeeks when opening up the little present she got him.
When inside the house, she ran as fast as she could up the stairs to 2D's room. She threw open his door, tripping over several pieces of trash that littered the entrance of his room. 2D squealed in surprise and fell of the side of his bed.
"Stu! Look what I found!", Lily shrieked as she got a game out of the little plastic bag she was holding.
2D's eyes shot open and his smile grew as big as it could get. He ran up to Lily and snatched the game out of her hands.
"Where did yew find this? I've been looking fer this fer ages!"
Before Lily could awnser, 2D noticed the label on the plastic bag she was holding. "Gameside? Are yew serious? Yer saying I could've just looked inside that crappy gameshop at the end of the street?"
Lily laughed but got interrupted by the doorbell.
"I'll get it!", Lily said while rushing down the stairs.
Kong studio's
"Sugar! Yew need to see this! Remember Flybane Jenkins? Forget that! The guy has this new liquor laced with co-" Murdoc frowned in confusion upon entering the living room, seeing as Lily wasn't there and he was just talking to himself. He shrugged and looked around the house a little.
"Sugar! Lily?", he shouted, walking into the hallway Lily's room was in.
"In my room...", a soft voice anwsered.
Murdoc got all excited again, holding a bottle of the new liquor he got as he barged into the room.
"Sweet stuff, look at this bab-...", Murdoc fell silent upon seeing his girlfriend holding an olive skinned infant. "...-baby", he continued.
Lily was frowning, her eyes filled with rage and sadness. The little baby she was holding was obviously related to Murdoc, considering it had a greenish skintone, pitch black hair and even the same red hue in one of it's eyes. Murdoc just stared at the baby in pure horror, blinking in confusion once in a while.
"Did-...did I...euh...miss somethin'?", he eventually spoke.
Lily rolled her eyes and handed him a dirty yellow post-it, "Read it."
I'm too old fer disappointments
Take care of er, she's yer half-sister
'Dad'
Murdoc's eyes twitched a little as anger started bubbling up inside him. He scrunched the post-it in his fist while staring ahead of him.
"That sodding bastard! I swear I'm gonna rip his fucking throat out if I see him again! Knockin' up some fucking prostitute and leavin' that sodding thing at our doorstep!", Murdoc yelled.
"Hey! Don't talk about your sister like that! And calm down, you're scaring her...", Lily said quietly but stern while rocking the baby back and forth softly.
Murdoc scrunched his eyebrows before speaking, "Don't tell me yer already soft fer that thing?"
"Shut up. It's not the baby's fault, is it?", Lily frowned.
"I don't care. It's not staying here."
Murdoc was about to leave the room when Lily stood up in anger. "We can't just abandon her! Where is she supposed to go?!"
"If my father can abandon her, so can I! We'll just drop her off at my father's, he'll have to deal with his own shit!"
Murdoc walked up to Lily, reaching for the baby in her arms. He got confused by Lily's reaction. She held the baby closer to her as if she was afraid to give him the little girl.
"No, We're not doing that! Your father is just going to drop her off at child services or something! She doesn't deserve a life like that..."
Murdoc felt a little spark of guilt flow through him as he looked at the baby. It didn't last long as the memories of his father came flooding back into his head. His father made his life miserable and he expected him to take care of his mistakes? He didn't deserve a life like his either. He shook his head, bringing him back to reality.
"I don't care, we're not keepin' it!"
"She! And yes, we are!"
"I don't have time fer sodding babies! Not yours, someone else's and definitely not my fucking father's!", Murdoc snapped.
Lily took a step back at Murdoc's sudden rage and hurtful comment. Soft tears started running down her cheeks as she hushed the little girl, who was making soft sniffing noises. She took glared at Murdoc before leaving the room without another word.
The kitchen
"Aye Lily, wanna play that new game yew bought? It's bloody grea-", 2D blabbed on as he walked in on Lily feeding the greenish baby. Her eyes were red and her cheeks were stained with tears. 2D stopped dead in his tracks as his jaw dropped.
"Wha-...Yew...yew were pregnant?!", he sheepishly said.
"No..."
"Oh...wait, oh god! I'm so sorry...Murdoc's such a bastard! Bloody cheatin' jerk!"
"No, D, she's his sister."
2D's confused expression only got worse as he listened to Lily's words. He fiddled with his fingers and swiftly grazed them through his hair before sitting down in front of Lily at the table. His face lightened up a little at the sight of the little baby in Lily's arms. He continued to stare at the little creature for a good minute, before realising Lily's state.
"Why are yew crying?", he quietly asked.
Lily looked down at the table and shook her head softly after a little sniff. 2D took the hint and let go of the question. He sighed and looked back at the baby.
"Why is she here? I mean, where did she even come from?", he asked while reaching for the baby's tiny hand.
"Murdoc's father dropped her off, he doesn't want anything to do with her. It's awful..."
"What's her name?"
Lily looked at the baby and back at 2D.
"Good question...I don't know", she said while shrugging.
"Wanna name her?", 2D asked.
Lily smiled and nodded, "what about Iris?"
"I like it"
QLily looked at the happy little baby in her arms and thought for a minute. She felt really bad, the little girl she was holding had no idea of her situation. She looked so at peace. Lily tried thinking about the future and what it might look like, how was she going to raise a baby? And if one baby wasn't enough, how was she going to manage raising two babies with another one on the way...
