I had a giant writer's block and a lot of things came up. If anybody is still here to read this, please enjoy! Also apologies in advance, this was my first time writing action so it's not the best.
Send my beta some love!
Aiedail Liadeia is a blessing and they deserve it.
Trigger warning: panic attack.
I will put two - in front of where it starts and ends so you can skip through it and not miss anything.
Yuuga yawned once again, rubbing his tired eyes. The rather sudden reduction of food hit him harder than expected, one meal a day used to be much easier to do. This morning he had actually spoiled himself a bit, after finding some extra yen while cleaning. He bought himself some cheese and paired with the dry bread they had, it wasn't actually that bad.
Their homeroom teacher had suddenly announced a trip, something about a Trial of Rescue. His concentration had started waning at that moment, another wave of tiredness disrupting his focus. He just needed to survive a bit more, keep his makeup on perfectly so his paleness didn't stand out with his shiny self. His muscle mass might suffer and make training harder, but he just had to do better! He should have been more frugal from the start, he knew a month like this would come, it always did. What an idiot he truly was…
As he was quietly changing into his hero costume, a pang of loneliness hit his chest. It was so quiet with him being the last one in, but he really couldn't change with the rest of the boys. It would raise too many questions.
Ah, who was he kidding?
They wouldn't notice anything. Not the scars, not the paleness or the lack of sparkles. Nobody ever did, why would anybody notice now? After all he wasn't special , he wasn't even worth noting. A weak, fake, ugly boy. He wasn't even fully Japanese, he wasn't fully French, but some sort of mixed, hideous mess.
Tears forced their way into his eyes, throat tightening up as the thoughts continued to spiral. His breathing suddenly became very laboured, making him gasp in short bursts. Disgusting sounds left his mouth as he tried to get any air, if anybody heard him they might mistake the sounds for a dying frog.
His view of the room was covered with tears, nose disgustingly clogged up and it all seemed so unnecessary. His heart was beating in his throat, and it made him feel like he couldn't stay up anymore.
He was going to be married off, he should be happy. He had met the girl yesterday, she was lovely, nice and funny. Her quirk had perfectly manipulated his beams with grace and beauty, the kind he could only dream of. He should be thrilled . Nobody else would want him, if they weren't forced to marry him. Nobody liked defective quirks. Nobody liked sissy boys. Nobody liked ugly people. No girl would love a freak like him, much less a boy. Much less Tokoyami-
The glove in his hand dropped to the floor from the shaking of his hands, he knew he should pick it up. But he couldn't, not in this state anyway. His legs threatened to give out, his balance starting to waver as well. Quickly he sat down, an absolutely ugly sob finally leaving his lips. He covered it, which was just another mistake. He wasn't sure if he was supposed to breathe or cry, both demanding his attention. He started taking breaths in and out, trying not to let the hiccups or another wave of sadness hit him.
For a moment he could get a hold of himself, he reached into the locker and got out his towel. It smelled of sweat and cheap perfume, but it was better than nothing. He blew his nose into it, slowly clearing his airway as he was able to cry into it as well. It wasn't a shower or the mirror room, but it should muffle him good enough. He had to move away from it to take a few breaths, before another sob hit him and he was right back in it. The texture was rough and it scratched at his sensitive skin, though the feeling was rather grounding at the very least.
A few more bawls left him, each one weaker than the last. Once he was sure he wouldn't start crying again, he opened his tired eyes and got up. Oh sweet Maria, his makeup was entirely ruined! For such a stupid reason too, go crying for no cause! It had scared him he had to admit, where had it come from? Though usually Aoyama's sobs were quiet, more akin to the loudness of a whimper. Well, he didn't have time to ponder at the moment.
The makeup had smeared off a bit, revealing the dark circles he had meticulously tried to hide in the morning. He sighed as he watched himself in the mirror, a sort of numbness in his chest. He wasn't sure why it couldn't go away, he hated it. It made him feel so...fragile. He stared at his own bloodshot eyes, a face of ruined makeup, snot and tears; his fringe and front hair a mess from the towel. He watched himself blink, a frown on his lips. He closed his eyes, opening them once more to see himself back into the neutral expression in the 'V' smile. There, now to just fix his makeup and actually get out there. A few sparkles bounced off his skin as he felt a tad lighter, though the emptiness in his chest persisted through all his preparations.
Just before he left, he heard the buzzing of his phone. He looked up, hesitantly reaching to check. His blood froze once he saw the caller ID: Papa.
It wasn't unusual for him to call during lunch break or during class, if he forgot when Yuuga had classes, to inform him of something. Like what he wished for dinner or that he may stay late. But for some reason that day a thought formed in his head that scared him.
' Please not him, anybody but him.'
Yuuga gasped, starting to cough. What was that?! What was wrong with him? Before he could waste more time, he answered.
" Hey squirt!" The voice on the other side was happy and upbeat, Yuuga concentrating to make sure he didn't miss anything.
"Hello Papa." He spoke with a raspy voice, putting a hand on his throat. He really hated when it did that. Yuuga cleared his throat as Papa continued to speak.
" How ya been? "
"Quite well, t-thank you. How is work?"
" Doing fine! Our customer has us working on this giant project! I just wanted to check in on you, you doing fine?"
"Of course, I am fine Papa! You worry too much."
" Well I still should apologize for how I acted yesterday, it was probably embarrassing to have your dad be on the date with you! And before that, it was a bit of an oopsie to spend so much money on a watch. I'll do better next time."
"It's q-quite fine Papa...Really it is." Yuuga exhaled, closing his eyes and leaning against the cold metal of the lockers.
" Yuuga, you do know I love you. Right? You are mon petit garçon!"
Yuuga's heart clenched at that, he hadn't heard that endearment in so, so long. He wanted to cry once more, he had missed it.
"And you are mon fort Papa." He spoke back, a genuine smile blooming on his lips as he relaxed.
" Heck yeah I am, my champ. So, why aren't you in class?"
"H-Huh?"
" I don't really hear any steps or people around you and you are a tad echoey...are you skipping class? "
"I w-would n-never Papa! We are just heading out you see to a t-training simulation, I am just the last one in the changing room!" He feverishly defended himself, freezing up in fear.
" Hohoho, just joking! You really shouldn't take it seriously.~ Well good luck with it anyway! Papa loves you." Just like that he hung up before Yuuga could have said goodbye back, leaving him staring at the open locker and himself in the mirror. A young, skinny mixed child. His pale skin and bright hair contrasted highly against the dark wallpaper behind him. A look of pain echoing in young violet eyes.
Once he came out, Mina wrapped an arm around him scaring the daylights out of him while doing that. Before he could push her away, afraid of becoming trapped, he instead looked at her with an unblinking stare, keeping his smile up.
"Where the hell were you?! Did you go make your costume from scratch?" She teased, Yuuga looking down with a mad blush. His selfishness knew no bounds, he had kept them waiting for so long.
"Do you not know, the dazzling Aoyama must be simply perfect before he presents himself? You should know that by now!" He scoffed, smiling back at her. The numbness in his chest persisted, though around Mina it dampened. If only for just a second.
"Whatever, sparkle butt! Come on, we need to sit together on the bus so we can complain about the finale of Shining Diamond! Unless, you wanna sit with your boyfriend?" She wiggled her eyebrows with a mischievous smile.
"Oh shut up mademoiselle." He gently bumped her shoulder as they walked toward the gathering crowd and the yelling Iida. They hadn't really been able to talk during the training exercise with All Might, so it would be good to catch up on her. It would distract him at the very least.
It hadn't distracted him really. Mina ended up joining the discussion about quirks. with Kirishima seeming worried about the plainness of his quirk. He vaguely heard Midoriya comment that he could go pro with such a quirk, but that thought irked Aoyama. It really shouldn't, but jumping to such conclusions about hero work made him feel a tad uneasy. From the numerous lectures he got, he knew a good quirk wouldn't help you too much unless you knew how to sell it to make yourself a brand. So he spoke up, Mina looking at him and for once not interrupting him.
"Ah yes, going pro! But don't forget that heroes have to worry about popular appeal! You have to sell yourself~" He leaned into his hands, watching the three classmates in front of him. "For example, my navel laser is both strong and flashy. Perfect for a dazzling pro." He tried to sound confident yet casual, feeling though as if he was just going too far. It wasn't that good of a quirk. But admitting would be hypocritical, no?
Though then Mina decided to speak.
"As long as you don't blow up your stomach!" Mina smiled, making Yuuga freeze and look up at her with a look that screamed: How dare you betray me .
He shook the hand off his shoulders, the others continuing the conversation without them.
"Hey!"
"That is what traitors get, you wounded me Mina." He teased, while she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. The conversation lulled between them, Yuuga looking at the back of the bus where Tokoyami and Mezo were talking. For a moment he stared at the two, before looking away. Fumikage had been rather flaky lately, it worried him quite a bit. He would sometimes catch him staring, but he would say he wasn't doing anything like that. Then another day he would be around Shoji as if his life depended on it. Something was up, but he couldn't put his finger on it.
Soon though, the bus stopped in front of a giant building, which fascinated Yuuga. It was sleek, modern and yet felt classic. It had an air that it had and would stand for many more years.
They were greeted by Thirteen, Mina next to him seeming excited.
"She is so awesome! Like the stuff she does is amazing." She whispered to him during the introduction speech, Aoyama nodding along. He knew about her, his own Maman would sometimes gush about her. Thanks to her he was well-versed in rescue heroes. He had met many of them as well, each of them feeling so humbling to him. They did so much, not expecting as much thanks as those who beat up criminals. As a child he had wanted to be one of them, but well...he couldn't exactly collapse from being sick while rescuing people, could he?
Once the short speech was done, Aizawa started to speak but was caught off by a giant black hole opening up at the fountain. What was going on? Yuuga looked at his other classmates looking just as confused as him. What emerged was a young man with dismembered hands all over his body, a giant hulking bird of sorts and more villains. Yuuga's jaw dropped, and quickly covered it with his hands. What was going on?!
Mina next to him froze, Mezo tensed up. He couldn't hear anything, just watched in horror as their teacher threw himself in danger. Bakugo and Kirishima followed, trying to attack what seemed like a man made out of mist. For everything going on, he noticed that he seemed to have some really fine eyeliner.
He blinked, shocked at his thoughts. Freaking priorities! He could wonder about simply fabulous makeup later. Soon the space around them became darker, the man becoming a giant cloud of smoke like matter. What was happening? Were they going to die? What would he do to them?!
For a second he considered using his laser to get away. He could take glass to the armor and be fine. If he was able to take being thrown against walls and mirrors, this should be nothing. But what made him stop was Mina next to him, a look of pure horror on her face. Mezo was already ready to fight, watching closely in case he needed to do something. And Tokoyami...he couldn't leave them alone. Not if he wanted to call himself a friend .
He looked at Mezo and caught his eye, before the mist started lowering itself.
"Mina, stay safe." Yuuga told her, before pushing her at Shoji who grabbed her and Sero, ducking down to protect the two with his own body. As he did Aoyama saw Tokoyami looking up. He was at the edge of the group...maybe if...if Yuuga used his quirk he could push him out of the way and keep him safe as well. He didn't have time to think more than that, simply act. So he did just that. The familiar buzz of his belt filled the air around him as it fired to push Aoyama back, he contemplated on getting both of them out of the reach, but the ache in his stomach protested. He would only have enough momentum to push Fumikage to safety...he hoped it would work.
"Take care!" He sadly smiled, pushing him out of the reach. Tokoyami shouted for him to stop this foolishness, a look of fear on his face. As he fell backwards, Dark Shadow suddenly appeared without warning. He stretched forward, reaching and hugging Yuuga. The momentum pulled Aoyama and Tokoyami closer, before the darkness covered both of them.
Once they emerged, the sight that greeted them was an empty city with rain pouring down on them. A harsh wind blew, sending a shiver down his spine. Dark Shadow was still clinging to him, but he didn't seem small and innocent as he usually did. He looked bigger, his eyes holding a look more akin to a wolf than a puppy. Both Tokoyami and Dark Shadow spoke in unison, looking at him.
"What was that?!" Both were on the verge of yelling, Aoyama couldn't help but flinch.
"I-I was s-saving you! You were at the edge of the g-group and you could have been pushed out! I cannot carry Mina or Mezo. But I could get you t-to not get hurt." His throat tightened once more, had he done something wrong?
Tokoyami heavily exhaled, speaking after a beat of silence.
"What a mad banquet of darkness we have been thrown in. We should move into one of the buildings." He looked up at the raining sky, a shiver going through both of them as the wind howled.
"Shiny boy! You shouldn't have done that." The dark silhouette frowned, starting to slowly let go. "We are strong, you know? You should have ran. Went somewhere safe." Yuuga blinked at the slightly better vocabulary, what was going on? But also ouch , he was right but it still hurt a tad to be called out like that.
"I simply could not call myself a hero if I did not help my friends. We do crazy things for the people we like." Tokoyami seemed a bit browned off, looking at the two of them.
"Can we please-"
But he could not continue his sentence as Dark Shadow yelled.
"DUCK!" Both of them did as told, a bone-chilling sound of something hitting a wall. Yuuga looked up to see it being a sharp and giant icicle. Where had it come from?
They didn't have time to get it answered as another came flying, barely missing Aoyama's feet. He jumped up, as the ice cracked so close to him, embedding itself in the asphalt.
"Hold on to Shadow!"
Tokoyami started to run for cover, Dark Shadow clinging to him so he wouldn't fall behind.
"Where should we go?"
"Finding shelter should be our first priority. Possibly-"
They rounded a corner of a rather large building and nothing could have prepared the two of them for what was next.
They skid to a stop as they were greeted with a terrifying sight. A horde of people who seemed to have been waiting for them on the street. Others appeared from the alleys, some came from the buildings all around them. They smiled from the windows of the buildings and two flew down from the sky. A piercing sound made Aoyama look back to even see one come from a manhole, his hands like sharp rocks.
There was no escape, they were surrounded from every corner. Tokoyami took a step back, the two sharing a look.
A moment went by and another, the villains barely taking a step forward. That was odd, shouldn't they have been attacked by now? Dark Shadow and Tokoyami both had their eyes go all over the place, sharing a few glances. Probably another one of their mental conversations.
His classmate took a step closer to him, starting to murmur.
"I think they don't know what we can do."
"What do you mean?!" He whispered back, though now they started walking towards them with cocky expressions.
"They haven't attacked us yet. They didn't go for your belt or Dark Shadow. They tried a cheap tactic with the icicles. Perhaps we could still get away from them."
Before their conversation could continue, Fumikage's eyes widened and he moved swiftly. Before Aoyama realized what might have happened, his back was against a cold wall of the building they had walked around to get into this mess. Tokoyami's back was turned to him, his arms stretched backwards towards him.
Before he could stop himself, his cheeks were tinted pink. There wasn't much space between of them and-
Could he maybe think straight for five minutes?! They would die if he couldn't keep his focus. He looked at where they had been standing a few moments ago, his blood froze at the sight. A sharp dagger was lodged into the road, still it still sparked with what he could guess was electricity.
"Look at these two idiots! Who wants the birdhead?" Spoke the villain at the head of the group, his hand moved in an odd gesture before the same sort of dagger was thrown from the group. This time Aoyama forced himself to act quickly, his hands pushed Tokoyami down. He hadn't accounted for that Dark Shadow had still held a tight grip on him. They ended up on the floor, the whooping and laughter became louder.
"Come on! Let's leave some dead students for the Symbol of Peace!"
Both quickly got up at those words, as Aoyama shook in his costume. They were clearly outnumbered!
But Tokoyami kept calm.
"Surprise." He muttered, Aoyama turned his head in confusion. "We're cornered, we cannot possibly fight like this."
"So what!? We surrender?" He whispered in alarm as the villains got closer with every passing second.
"We pretend to." Fumikage raised his arms as if in surrender, Dark Shadow mimicking the action. Yuuga didn't have much of a choice in this, so all he could do was the same.
"We surrender, we do not have the energy to fight this pointless fight. You agents of darkness have won."
They seemed actually stunned for a second, before they all started laughing and already celebrating.
"That was easier than expected!"
"Stupid kids."
Two villains appeared from the group, one in a bright red costume grabbed Tokoyami's arm and forcibly twisted it behind him. Dark Shadow disappeared with a grunt, looking to be in pain as well.
"Ah!"
"Just start walking chicken."
Yuuga was next, though he was lucky his arms were just pulled down and then behind him.
"Where are we going?"
"You'll see. We set up a nice place to leave your bodies."
The walk wasn't long, they passed a few more buildings before they were pushed into the middle of an intersection. The one who seemed to be the leader, stepped forward with a wicked grin.
"Since you two little bunnies seemed to have given up easily, your death might just as well be as easy. I promise it will be painless...mostly anyway." He chuckled, both of them did their best to look at their surroundings. Villains wherever the eye reached, nothing to offer possible protection either.
The leader produced a scalpel from his coat, Yuuga felt his knees shake. Before he could descend into panic, Tokoyami's voice cut through the cold day.
"Revelry in the dark! Come forth, Dark Shadow!" In the next instant, the group leader had been picked up by Dark Shadow who seemed so much bigger than before. He was thrown at the nearest group of villains, shouts broke out at his sudden landing between them.
"We need to keep our backs covered." Yuuga nodded, they stepped so their backs were pressed together. His feathers slightly tickled Aoyama's neck, but it made sure so he knew he was there.
The next attack was a flurry of snow and Yuuga cut through it with his laser before it could blind them. The rain was already making aiming difficult, but this was just ridiculous.
"Dark Shadow!" Tokoyami yelled behind him, Aoyama heard a loud bang as if two strong forces collided with one another. Before he could turn his head around, he noticed more villains appearing from the alley next to them. He needed to focus! He shot at anybody coming too close, he even had to use the ones on his knees. What surprised Yuuga was the yells coming from Tokoyami's side. The criminals seemed terrified of something.
"Are you okay back there?" He asked, trying to look back and see what had happened.
"The knights of darkness are fine! Do not look back." Tokoyami spoke urgently, though something felt extremely off. His voice seemed strained, but why would he be? He had good stamina in training, unless he was hurt? Surely he would have made a sound if he had gotten hit though.
Their plan wouldn't work for much longer as they were hit with a strong stream of water, at least Yuuga had the luck that his glasses covered his eyes. Both were sent barreling in different directions as they got hit again with two different streams.
"Merde!" He barely got up before having to avoid a hit to the face, instead he punched the criminal in their gut. While they were out of air, he pushed them away with his hands and then his quirk. The hit had them go through a wall. Yuuga groaned, wanting a second to collect himself. But he didn't get the chance.
He heard a loud whistling coming behind him, making him throw himself hopefully out of the way. He had barely missed getting hit by what looked like electrified daggers. They had ended up hitting another enemy coming to get him from the front, the one throwing them looking at Yuuga.
"Come here, brat!" Another shining dagger was thrown, Aoyama moved once more .The weapon lodged itself in the car that had been behind him, the metal creaking loudly.
He knew they didn't have them in bulk, since there was a pause between each of the throws. He then heard a loud roar behind him, he looked over his shoulder to see a woman stampeding towards him. This might just work.
He whistled loudly, catching the attention of the villain with the daggers who already had new ones in his hand. Gotcha~
The steps behind him were getting ever louder and louder, so he turned around with a flourish of his cape. His view was rather smudged from the glasses, but he needed them. If he got blinded too badly, he could be injured easily.
"Have a wonderful evening, madam." He sent her a kiss, before having himself fall forward. His quirk activated, sending him upwards into the air and just in time too. The woman hit the car head-on, getting stuck in the trunk of it and sending it barreling towards the other villain who started running in hopes of somehow evading it.
He aimed for the nearest roof, his plan had him landing gracefully and fabulously as possible and keep on moving.
Instead a small scream left him as he realized that he couldn't balance himself in the air. He landed on the solid concrete, rolling rather messily until his momentum finally let him stop. He let out a sigh of relief, before nervous racked his already aching body. His arms and torso felt like they were going to bruise pretty badly later.
He felt the adrenaline rush slightly slow down, his mind starting to catch up with the situation, as he took a moment to finally clean his glasses.
His nervous laughter only got louder as another jolt of pain went through him his effort to get up. How did he survive all that?! He needed to get out of here, he needed to run! Or at least meet up with Tokoyami again, he would surely have a plan to get them out. He needed to.
He couldn't rejoice long as he was grabbed from behind in a sleeper hold, the villain threatening to put a spike through him if he struggled. He was stuck!
Merde, merde, merde!
It was getting hard to breathe, his surroundings seemed dark. Why was this so hard to get out of?
Out of nowhere an idea struck him, it was either that or probably death.
He removed the armor on his arm swiftly, the villain seemed confused by the action. He swung it between his legs and hit the man behind him perfectly in the groin. The man squealed and let go, there was a splash as he fell into one of the many puddles, while holding his injured balls.
Yuuga put the piece of armor back on in a sloppy way, he didn't really have time to dawdle and try to fully attach it back. Once he somewhat recovered, he saw a few other villains staring at him from the roofs dumbfounded, the men wincing. So without hesitation he shot at them, a few fell on to other roofs or on to the hard, cold ground. He should worry if he hurt them, but it was either him or them. And he really did not like the idea of dying like this.
Yuuga started looking around the city to find Tokoyami, while jumping from roof to roof with his quirk. Why hadn't he thought of this sooner? Though his stomach had started to hurt, it was nothing he couldn't withstand. If anybody was in his way, they were blasted away.
Where were those two? They couldn't have been far.
They weren't, but the sight he was greeted with was terrifying. Dark Shadow was about the size of Mezo if not bigger, and tearing through villains, sending them through walls, windows and into cars without a care. Tokoyami was holding himself against one of those cars, panting and yelling at him to slow down. The beast pointedly ignored him, laughing a way that sent another chill down Yuuga's spine. This wasn't the Dark Shadow he knew. This was something entirely else. Something much more monstrous. As he thought that, he watched him grab a villain and play with him as the man screamed for mercy. Without warning he discarded him like an old toy, tossing him towards another group of villains. He grew and grew, while Tokoyami looked to be in more pain with every moment that passed.
The rain seemed to only intensify and Yuuga quickly had to clean his view once more. What he saw, made him freeze. A woman appeared in one of the windows, moving her hands so the rain formed together into...another icicle. A big one too.
"DARK! FUMI! WATCH OUT!" A scream left his lips, a beam leaving his belt to hit her. But as it did, she had already launched the sharp icicle down anyway. At the trajectory and speed it was going, it could pierce Tokoyami's skull. So without hesitation Yuuga jumped into the air, propelling himself backward. At the speed he was going, the armor piece he had sloppily put back on creaked. It didn't matter, he would be able to take the hit with or without it.
Everything felt like it was either going too fast and too slow at the same time. The weapon felt like it went too fast, while his own movement was too slow. Would he even be able to save him? He squeezed his eyes, his mind racing frantically.
Please, please, please let it be me. Don't let him get hurt. Please, it needs to be me. I'm not-
His eyes opened as he felt something cold against his skin, relief spreading all over him. His eyes saw the giant icicle, before the sharp pain spread from his shoulder. His eyes closed once more from the sudden ache, howling from the pain.
The icicle made him violently change directions, making him slam against a wall and rolling down. His back was to the street, everything seeming eerily quiet.
It felt cold and out of place, like if one would put a stick under their arm and hold it for multiple hours. He felt his body heat up for a second as another wave of adrenaline hit him, the pain dulled at the moment. His heart was pumping in his ears, he blinked as he saw nothing through his glasses covered in rain, again. He really needed to get something better.
He heard Tokoyami yell, but what followed couldn't compare to that. It was a beastly roar, seconded by the screams and shouts from what he was guessing were the villains.
He couldn't really turn around, his body refused to move. His whole injured side felt so cold, so numb. Soon, a sort of warm something was oozing down from his armor. He looked down, taking a wild guess that it was probably his blood. The screams got louder and louder, but what caught his attention was Tokoyami's voice, whatever that caused his shouts and begging wouldn't stop. Something was horribly wrong and Yuuga didn't feel right just waiting there. He needed to turn around. He needed to help
He suddenly felt a sharp pain in his shoulder and sucked in a breath. He refused to give it the satisfaction that it had made him scream twice. It felt horrible, like his muscles were being stuck with millions upon millions of pinpricks. He could focus on this stupid injury later, first he needed to help.
He mustered what energy he had, breathing had become a chore without any kind of upfront notice. How rude. After another second he flipped himself, luckily he would be leaning on his uninjured side.
He balanced himself, going into position enough to keep his knees and belt free. He could barely see through the glasses, but he had a feeling things were getting worse. The screams were getting louder. So he fired multiple shots, each one strained his body. He did so a few times, the street lighting up at the strength of the beams as he did his best to aim towards the shouts. He just hoped it would distract Dark Shadow, so maybe Tokoyami could get him under control or something. He had mentioned that he adored shiny stuff.
He heard a loud crash, though it didn't matter. Exhaustion had hit him so hard from so many shots. The hand that was keeping him up slipped as he couldn't really control it anymore. It had gone limp for some reason, as the pain returned fiercer than before. He whined pathetically on the soaked ground, his every breath getting harder and harder to take. It felt like heaving through wool, hard and it barely gave him any oxygen.
He was shivering like a dog on the floor, everything felt so wrong. The sound of the rain seemed distant the more he tried to listen. Like a mere echo, all he could see through his glasses was a figure approaching him. They were running, but with a noticeable limp. He heard a voice, but it scrambled into another echo before he could get through the fog of his mind and unscramble the message. A pair of something wrapped around his middle, two voices now starting to mingle. They were fighting over something with how loud and angry it sounded. He let out a whimper, struggling to stay awake.
He was picked up, mewling at another jolt of pain. The hands that held him were firm under his knees and near his hips.
The pain tripled, tears started to try and leave his eyes. His glasses were removed and he was greeted with the underside of Tokoyami's face, the beautiful beak and his ruby eyes, that held a grave look as they looked down at him every so often. They caught his for a moment. Suddenly Aoyama felt scared. What had happened again? Why was he being carried?
A dark head appeared in his vision, gently tapping his face. It was saying something, but he couldn't really catch it. Why was it doing that? Couldn't they just let him rest? It had been such a long day of training after all. His vision got blurry and dark, another jolt of pain forcing a sob out of his lips.
"It h-hurts...it h-hurts." He got out with a ragged voice, closing his eyes.
"I probably cannot fathom the pain you are in. But please stay awake, I am getting us somewhere to treat you." Tokoyami spoke loudly, wincing himself every so often. Wait, he could hear them?
"Are you ok-okay? Did t-they hu-hurt you?" Yuuga was able to get out, as his vision started to swim again. Dark Shadow shook him strongly, making him grimace at the pain.
"For somebody who took an icicle to the torso, you are very concerned with my health. Just stay awake, I shall be fine." Tokoyami looked down once more, concern painting his features.
"H-How b-bad is it?"
Both of them glanced at where the pain was coming from.
"It is certainly not good."
AN: Before we end things, good news about part 2. It (hopefully) won't take multiple months to come out. It's already written out and I just need to tweak it and send it out. Fun fact the two parts were suppoused to be one giant chapter, but luckily my beta is smarter than me.
Don't be afraid to comment and stay safe you lovelies!
