Here comes trouble

It honestly surprised me that Sandy accepted the promise ring; part of me thought that she wouldn't, not after last time.

I was hanging out with the guys at Frosty's; even though we weren't in school anymore, we still liked to hang out there, we had been sitting at our regular table when Patty walked in.

I groaned; Kenickie looked at me "You alright man?"

I shook my head "No, guess who just walked in"

He looked over "Oh god! What's she doing here alone?"

Doody looked at me "What happened? Who's alone?"

I glanced over subtly, Doody made a face.

I decided to tell them "Sandy and I were here a couple of days ago and well Patty said that it was surprising that we were all alone, and then she said that you guys didn't like Sandy"

Putzie laughed "Zuko, we love Sandy! That Patty chick is just jealous"

Sonny piped up "Yeah we love her, she's good for you. Patty is crazy man! If she thought she had a chance, she's wrong!"

She came over "Hi boys, what no girls today? What happened huh? Did they get tired of poor little Sandy?"

I was tempted to tell her to go to hell, but then I figured I would let Kenickie handle it.

Kenickie looked at her "For your information Simcox; Sandy happens to be the best thing that ever happened to us, she's a far nicer person than you will ever be! And if you thought that you had a chance with Danny, then you were very wrong!"

She looked at us "Oh I had a chance alright and that prissy little Australian came along and she stole you from me"

She said it loud enough for everyone to hear; some people started to laugh quietly, others started whispering. We knew that she was making a fool of herself just like before.

Kenickie laughed, I could tell he was close to losing his temper "Get outta here, you're embarrassing yourself"

She huffed "Fine, but mark my words boys; she's more trouble than she's worth"

I shook my head "Thanks man; I don't know if I could have dealt with that"

He shrugged "What are friends for?"

We finished up, paid and then left. Doody suggested that I tell Sandy about what happened. I knew I should tell her, but how do I tell her? Do I tell her over the phone? Or in person?

I decided to tell her in person. This could go either way; she will either be ok with it, or she won't speak to me for a while.

I made my way over to her place, her mom answered the door "Hello Mrs Olsen, is Sandy here; there's something I need to tell her"

She smiled "Yes dear, she's upstairs; I'll go and tell her you're here"

I held my breath, for what seemed like a long time; and then Sandy appeared "Hi Danny, is everything alright?"

I smiled softly, not knowing how to tell her. Shes either going to be ok or she's gonna be mad. Let's just hope it's not the latter.

I took another breath "Uh babe, something happened at Frosty's; I was with the guys and Patty walked in, well she kinda said the same thing that she said to us that day. Well she said that I should be with her, I don't want to be with her believe me I don't, but she's convinced if we didn't meet that summer then I would have been going with her"

Sandy stood there, she was oddly quiet. This isn't good, something is gonna happen. I looked at her, I couldn't read her at all, which normally never happens, I can read her like a book most of the time.

She spoke "Thanks for telling me, not only did I just deal with someone I never met hating me, but now I am dealing with it again, only this time it's someone I thought liked me"

She sat down on her front step, her head was in her hands. She looked like she had just been kicked, and she looked so down. Anger bubbled up inside me, no one and I mean no one is gonna make my baby feel down. Not even some low life jealous brat!

I helped her up, I held her hands in mine; I waited until she looked at me, when she did, I smiled at her "Baby, I would never leave you; you're it for me Sandy. You're my one and only, I'll tell Rizzo what's happened and she can help you deal with it. No one and I mean no one will ever make you feel like this again"

She looked at me "No Danny it's ok, I can deal with this one on my own"

I was shocked, where was my sweet and innocent Sandy? Not that I didn't love the new confident Sandy. I did; it's just she's wanting to handle this on her own. Which is pretty amazing too, I'm just worried that Patty might do or say something to get her riled up and I really don't want her getting hurt.

I guess she needs to do this, to prove that she can fight her own battles; she kissed me on the cheek and went inside, about 10 minutes later she came back down, she was wearing the outfit she wore to the carnival minus the heels, she opted for ballet flats instead. Her hair was in a high ponytail.

I was kinda hot under the collar when I spotted what she was wearing, she explained that she didn't feel like wearing the heels. She wanted to be comfortable.

Bad Sandy was back; for one purpose only and that was to deal with Patty Simcox once and for all. We knew that she would be at Frosty's with Tom; so we went there. Sandy turned some heads when we walked in; I kept her by my side until we reached Patty and Tom.

Sandy got her attention "Hello Patty"

Patty looked up and I could see her physically gulp "Oh hi Sandy, what's going on?"

Here it comes

"Stay away from Danny, he will never go with anyone like you; you're too pure! Yeah sure I used to be the same, but I've changed, because it was the only way for me to actually be with the guy that I love, yeah he told me I didn't have to but he changed for me too. You never stood a chance! His friends like me just fine, you can think what ever you want. I actually thought that we were friends, but in actual fact you used me, you pushed me to go with Tom, you knew that Danny hurt me at pep rally, and you just happened to know he was coming over to talk to me that day at Frosty's, you knew that I loved him, you knew that we would be going to the dance together. You also knew that we had gotten back together at the carnival! But you still thought you had a chance? Next time you try something you will be dealing with Rizzo!"

Patty looked to stunned to speak, I was definitely feeling something for Sandy in that moment; I don't think she would appreciate me saying that I wanted her in a certain way in this particular moment.

Sandy turned to me and she kissed me; it was different than any other time that we had kissed, it was full of passion and lust I think. I mean we have definitely never kissed like this before, it was different, but a good different.

We left Frosty's and headed back to her house; I couldn't keep my hands off her. We ended up in her backyard, on the porch swing. Her promise ring glinted in the sun. It was beautiful just like her. We made out for what seemed like an eternity; that sounds pretty good in my head, I'm gonna spend an eternity with her.

Part of me wanted to go to third base with her; but I'm gonna wait until she's ready. I'm not gonna pressure her into anything she doesn't wanna do, I learned that lesson.

Maybe one day in the near future; I'll let her set the pace, I don't wanna rush into anything. But I do know that she is definitely the one for me.
