Temperance was furious about the situation and everyone in general.
As soon as she returned to the lab, she found out about the found body, which no one had told her.
Of course, the body was discarded because it was a boy's.
But even so, she was furious that they had hidden it from her.
Luckily, her father had found a clue and he and Booth had followed.
She was alone in her office, reviewing the crime scene and reading all the reports about Lindsay and Anthony "Tony" Andersen.
She locked and office and prevented anyone from getting close to her.
She wanted to work alone.
But then the phone rang and she quickly answered it.
In the first few seconds she was silent and then she spoke.
—Hello? Who's talking?
—Mom? (The little voice called) Mom, are you there?
—Joy? Joy? (Temperance called her daughter's name) Honey are you okay? Where are you?
—Mom, listen to me and do what you ask.Mother Linds, (The girl said with disgust) wants a lot of money and wants Dad Tony free. (The girl said fearfully) The money will be sent to you in a text message..and Mom, tell Dad that St. Peter's hymn is most beautiful with bells, three times.
And then the call ended.
She left the office and went to Angela and called Agent Perotta.
—So she called and you didn't call us?
- When I answered I didn't know it was her, it was so fast ... and it didn't even look like her (Temperance said pondering) but she said something we already knew, she's with Lindsay Andersen.
_Okay, I'll try to get the call back.(Angela said) Any call made here is saved by me, so watch what you say.
—Okay, Miss Montenegro.(Peyton said and nodded) And then what did she say, Dr. Brennan?
—That they want Tony Andersen's money and freedom. (Temperance said)
-Anything else?
—A message ... one to Booth. (She was thoughtful) I need to get him back to the lab and listen.
She ran down the halls of the lab, she needed Booth to come back and find out what she meant.
—All done Linds! (Alex said as he entered the house)
—She heard the message without any interruption? (The woman asked anxiously)
—Of course, she already knows what to do, you just have to send the message.
—Soon, my Tony and I will be a long way from that hellish country. (Lindsay said happily)
—And what are you going to do with the girl?
—She's going to swim in the Potomac River. (She said and laughed.)
Joy was leaning against the cellar door listening to Lindsay's conversation.
And she swallowed hard when she knew what would happen to her.
She just hoped that her parents would be really quick and understand her message.
—Any leads on the call?(Booth said as he entered Angela's office)
—Well, the call was made on a pay phone, and what we heard was a recording of Joy's voice.
— So I didn't really talk to her? (Temperance asked sadly)
—No dear, I'm sorry. (Angela said) I'll put it on for Booth.
—Mother Linds, (The girl said with disgust) wants a lot of money and wants Dad Tony free. (The girl said fearfully) The money will be sent to you in a text message..and Mom, tell Dad that St. Peter's hymn is most beautiful with bells, three times.
—Bells? (Hoddings asked)
—Hymn of St. Peter .. (Booth murmured)
And then he remembered the day he took Joy to his first mass.
—Dad, why do the bells ring like that? (She asked curiously)
—Well, they usually play hymns ... this church always plays the hymn of St. Matthew, but they play several saints.
—Can you show me all? (Joy said excitedly)
—Anything you want, just don't discuss religion with your mother or she will kill me.
The girl laughed against her hand and Booth smiled.
—Angela search around the church of São Pedro, empty places or house with little movement, but close enough to hear the bells ringing.
—Do you think she is near a church?
—From St. Peter's church, they ring the bells three times a day, playing the same hymn.
—I see, I will look for it as soon as possible. (Angela said)
Temperance and Booth looked concerned.
—Soon she'll be home.(Hodings said)
—It's what we hope for.(Booth said and took Temperance's hand)
It was night and Joy was in the basement.
She was so anxious and so afraid.
And then she heard a noise at the door and Lindsay came down smiling.
—Good darling, you'll be with your parents soon.(She said falsely kindly)
—I know you want to throw me in the Potomac River!(She said irritated) Why do you hate me?
—Because… (The woman said and sat down next to her) You stole my Tony, he adored you… he was so fascinated by you…
—He is sick! (She said with disgust) And you are so much more, I am a child!
—I know it's not right, but I needed my Tony.(Lindsay said almost lunatically) And then you were adopted by a wealthy, successful couple ... you have everything Jolene.
—I am not to blame for you being a failure!
Lindas groaned in anger and started hitting Joy with as much fury as possible.
When she finished, Joy was feeling like a pile of trash and everything hurt.
—I'm going to have it all and you're going to give it to me. (Lindsay said) I knew that from the day you came into my house, you would be special.
And then she left and Joy allowed herself to cry.
She really hoped her parents wouldn't be long.
Everyone was sitting around waiting for Angela to work her magic. After almost half an hour of work, Angela ran into Temperance's office.
—People! I made it! I found an approximate location.(Angela said and handed it to Perotta)
—Come on. (Perrotta said) I'll call the team. Until dawn you will be with your little girl.
—I'll go with you(Booth said as he stood up)
—Me too. (Temperance said quickly) She's also my daughter.
—Let's go just before I change my mind.(Perotta said)but don't do anything to make me regret.
