It had been months since Noctis had left the school he found a small island in the middle of the sea and had started his training. He had been there to see how Ichigo tamed his hollow so he tried the same thing sitting, closing his eyes and going into his inner world. The first time he did this the Hallow nearly took over the Island was no longer there when Notcis woke he was floating in the sea panting hard from the corner of his eyes he saw the same man again the wolf like mask on his face hiding it a slow nod this time from the masked man before a blink took him from view . It was midwinter now and Noctis was in the middle of fighting his hallow his blade cutting down trees in his inner world the beasts sword doing the same the clashing leaving the ground cracked both had bloody bodys panting hard the masked man was overseeing as it turned out that was Noctis's soul reaper powers and he was colder than Noctis would have thought for his powers being flames . The beast had no name and Noctis could still not hear the name of his sword even as they talked and tried the soul reaper powers were strong but the sword itself was being stubborn. This was going to be the last battle as Noctis lifted the sword and put all his remaining power in it the beast doing the same flames shooting off making the swords look longer then they were and with a roar both bring their blades down rushing each other before a flash of light filled the inner world the soul reaper powers even with the mask turned and covered his face from the light .
Back outside Noctis's eyes snap open his face having a weight as he reached up feeling a mask and muzzle of sort as he took the mask off looking at it , It was the same as the wolf mask his sword wore making Noctis chuckle looking around the snow around him for a 100 feet was melted from the heat that was rolling off his blade before he calmed down the heat. Falling to his knees sighing hard the mask braking into nothing as he let out a roar of victory over his hollow.
Meanwhile as notice had been training in the wilds the world went on without him and at the vital festival Cinder had returned and using her teammates powers tricked pyrrha into killing penny bringing hords of grim down on the city Pyrrha had died in the battle to Cinder and Ozbin had disappeared as well most believing he had died as well not much other new had gotten out .
As Noctis learned this he rushed as fast as he could to his team he sensed them all on the Island he had first landed on when coming here in fact they where staying with Ruby and yang it took minutes to flashstep there landing outside the front door his heart racing as he was inches from opening the door in his mind asking himself if he had the right to even be here now after leaving them.
Before he could choose the door opened and standing in the doorway was Tai yang his face was tired and the moment he saw Noctis he went from rage, sorrow and forgiveness in seconds hugging the boy tightly . " Noctis you're alive i thought you had died or something!" Tai shouted out, getting the other people in the house to all turn and move to the door, the voices of Noctis' team shouting out as well as Rubys . Noctis felt he should run fear that they would all be mad at him and hate him now , But to his shock they all rushed out jumping on him hugging him in a massive bear hug Nora crying somewhat as rin simple looked away Juane did have a look in his eyes as he hugged Noctis even Ruby had an odd look as Noctis was now laying under a pile of bodys sighing to himself happily "i'm sorry that i left i was dealing with some inner demons that needed stomping down" Noctis said with a grunt as he lay there everyone jumping off him after a second pinching their nose Juane choking Ren speaking in the flat tone he always spoke in "uh..Notice you smell like moldy sea water and wet dog maybe you should take a bath " Nora laughing softly and agreeing with Ren shouting out" oh yeah that's totally what that smell is !"
Everyone laughed before yang walked into view Noctis only seeing her left side before she moved back from view . Tia looking over and rushing off to check on her Noctis looking around in a lower voice abit choked up " im..sorry i was not there when my team needed me if i was pyrrha would still be al…" before Noctis could fishen a fist slammed into his cheek Juane was looking down he hair covering his eyes but tears could be seen rolling down them before he Juane shouted out " It's no ones fault but mine! " Juane turned and walked back inside mumbled a sorry while Ren and Nora followed after Juane waved to Noctis leaving Ruby and Noctis alone standing outside . Ruby was feeling awkward next to Noctis and after a short time she stepped inside " well let's get inside and get you clean up okay " she said without looking back at Noctis as he followed and closed the door.
Inside the house as much the same when Noctis first came here if somehow made him feel safe welcomed and warm but that last one may have been from the fireplace Ruby showed Noctis to the bathroom " i'll get you a change of clothes your clothes need a wash ..or to be thrown out " Ruby joked chuckling Noctis faking hurt and doing an odd pose much like Ruby would do some times which made her laugh more . After an hour in the bathroom Noctis came out walking to the kitchen where he heard the voices everyone turned looking at him again ,everyone but Yang who was in her room resting . Nora was the first to laugh and she laughed hard as Noctis was wearing pink pants and a white tank top with a bunny on it his hair was much longer now , before it ended a few inches before his shoulders now it rested in the middle of his back and the black lines on his face looked a bit thicker . At this point everyone was laughing at Noctis and he stood there taking it as Tia yang was making a new cup of coffee before handing it off to Noctis and in a tone that killed the laughing " So you going to tell me why you weren't there ...when beacon fell? " The mood changed and Noctis froze mid sip before nodding and walking over sitting at the table looking at Tia " i'll tell you..but only you everyone else must leave.." Noctis had a matching somber tone but Ruby was fast to speak " No we are staying ..we are a team and family so whatever you have to say you can say it to us " she finished with a stomp of her foot. Juane was the second " yeah Ruby is right we are your team and you owe us that much man.." The room staring at Noctis as he looked into his cup the black coffee like a void as Noctis wanted nothing more then to tell them but was not sure if they could handle the truth..so his old stand by would have to work..lie so with a hard sigh Noctis started speaking " that night..at the dance when pyrrha unlocked my aura something went wrong do you all remember that ? " everyone nodded Ren saying as if remembering just then" you had been asleep for about 5 days if i'm right" Noctis nodded and kept speaking " yes well turns out my Aura is not ..good? It was to much and was killing me so Ozbin had me talking to someone that could train me ..to control the power that awoke that night " everyone was watching him as he spoke and he could feel the mixed feelings from them before Tai spoke up " is you had your aura locked until that point how where you doing that speed thing? " Tai would say arms crossed looking at Noctis which made everyone's eye widen before looking at him waiting for an answer. With a soft sigh Noctis stood up and started pacing back and forth before stopping and slapping his face with both hands before shouting softly " Damn it i knew i would mess up somewhere …" taking a breath holding his hand up to stop anyone from asking anything before continuing " Fine ...i was sick of lying and Ozbin is not here to tell me to not say anything " Noctis turned pulling the chair out so he was sitting in the middle of the kitchen looking at everyone rubbing his nose before starting for a third time " I'm not Qrows bastard son..im not even from this ...this everything " Noctis swings his hand out motioning at everything around him before he leaned his head back and continuing " i'm from another world the gods cursed me to travel and fix things or help the world then after a while i would be taken to the next all for the crimes of the people that ruled my own world !" By not Noctis was standing and pacing like this was building up for years " i was nothing just a shadow working for the leaders and if i was late or messed up i was beaten" the scars on his body making some sense to them now as he kicked the chair sending it flying and shattering it on the wall as he fell to his knees crying tears pouring down his cheeks " why me i never did anything wrong why must i be punished like this!" sobbing hard taking a few shaking breaths Tai rushed over hugging Noctis rubbing his back as Noctis cried into his shoulder. They sat like this for a few minutes before Yang walked out and stared at them " can you all stop shouting and crying im trying to rest " she watched her father consoling Noctis but she had not heard any of what was said everyone else was taking it in sitting there watching what was happening . Ruby soon joined her dad hugging Noctis then Nora and Ren Juane being the last one to join the hug and Yang just looking on confused as to what was happening before she shook her head turning and heading back to her room . After a few more choked gasps for air Noctis sat up everyone still sitting around him as he spoke in a choked voice " Pyrrha unlocked a part of my soul that could have been worse than any grim and i had to leave to tame it.. I did not want to hurt anyone but..if i had stayed i ..maybe i could.." Breaking down again all the regrets of his long life that build up to this point just boiling over crying so hard he passed out and Tai picked Noctis up and put him in his bed to let him rest everyone other than Yang talking about what Noctis dropped on them .
