It was Friday, and Kamiko didn't have classes. She had handed in her art project a few days ago, so she didn't have to go to the studio either. The manga artist has been working on her work in the Ground Zero agency since the morning. It was an awfully rainy day today, so neither Ground Zero nor Chargebolt was out on patrol today. Bakugou can't use his explosions when all his sweat was being washed away by the rain, while Kaminari wanted to avoid accidentally electrocuting people in the rainy weather since water is conductive.
"Phew, it is pouring outside!" Kirishima exclaimed when he got back to the agency. "I need to re-gel my hair." He shook his head at the doorway like a dog shaking the water out of its fur. He took the thin poncho off of himself and put it on the hanger by the doorway. The red-haired hero stomped on the doormat to get all the mud off his feet.
"Hey welcome back! How was patrol?" Kaminari asked. The blonde hero held two mugs of hot tea and handed one to Kirishima.
"Well, boring I guess. Nothing much going on today especially with all that rain going on. But boy is it cold outside. Thanks, man! Gosh, and it was so hot yesterday. The temperature just suddenly dropped!" Kirishima thanked his friend.
"Tell me about it," Kaminari sighed. "I thought I'd be okay but two minutes after leaving my house I had to go back and grab my jacket."
Kaminari and Kirishima made it back into the heroes' office, where Bakugou was sitting at his desk and staring out the window. "Hey, I've been wondering..." Kirishima leaned over to Kaminari. "Is it just me or are the two of them acting kinda strange the past few days?" He pointed to Bakugou by the desk, and then Kamiko who was sitting at the table Inazumari set up for her all the way at the corner of the office.
"You noticed too?" Kaminari whispered back.
"Yeah, it's like they're avoiding each other or something... Did they get into a fight?" Kirishima asked.
"I don't think so, earlier when Bakugou bumped into Iki-san today he even apologized to her," Kaminari replied.
"He what?!" Kirishima whisper gasped. He quickly pulled Kaminari out of the office so neither Bakugou nor Kamiko could hear them. "He apologized?!"
"Yeah, he was like, 'Sorry.' And then he just turned away and walked away," Kaminari mimicked Bakugou's voice and expression with accuracy.
"That's the problem!" Kirishima exclaimed.
"What? He seemed pretty polite to m-" Kaminari cut himself off when he realized what was wrong. Bakugou polite?! Do those two words even go together?! Now that he thought about it, since when did Bakugou learn to apologize?! Kirishima nodded as Kaminari's face began to show horror and realization. Kaminari slowly covered his dropped jaws with his hand, looking down as he tried to wrap his brain around reality. "Dude I'm scared."
Kirishima and Kaminari stuck their heads at the doorway looking in. "Something is definitely going on between them. I can feel it," Kirishima said.
Bakugou glared outside in the rain. The water gliding down the window made it really difficult to see what was going on outside, but even so, Bakugou's eyes were glued to it. If he turned his head his eyes would immediately dart towards the shitty woman, and he doesn't want that.
He's seen her enough, especially in his dreams the past few days. There isn't one night she doesn't haunt him in his dreams. One night she appeared as a bunny girl, and another night she appeared in a slutty female version of his costume. He can't do this anymore. He can't see her with the same eyes as before.
But the more he tried not to look at her, the more glances he'd steal.
She's wearing a white short sleeve t-shirt with a pink bunny print on the front with a matching pink skirt. Bakugou didn't like the color pink, but damn does it look good on her. Cute. She put her hair up in a half up half down ponytail again. She's been wearing that hairstyle pretty often lately, and he had to admit it looks...decent. Better than that messy bun she always does when she's lazy.
Bakugou gazed at her as she sat in the corner on the opposite side of the room from him. He could only see a little bit of her profile view, but he immediately noticed the unusual coral shade on her lips. They look...glossy. Is she wearing makeup? But today is Friday! She doesn't have school! Why would she wear makeup?
Suddenly Kamiko let out a sigh and leaned back in her chair. Bakugou immediately turned his face away, taking interest in the way water glided down the windows outside.
Kamiko groaned softly as she placed both her hands over her face. She can't rub her face because she has mascara on, but she really wants to out of frustration. Again... She groaned to herself. She flipped through the previous panels, and there he is, Bakugou. It's not exactly Bakugou, but it definitely isn't Takumi either. On the first page, she drew today Takumi was still Takumi. Big bright smile, short spiky hair, slim figure. But gradually and gradually you can notice Takumi's muscles becoming bigger, more defined, and his hair getting a little puffier and spikier. The gentle look on his face began to look more arrogant and annoyed, until the last panel she drew, where Takumi had turned entirely into Bakugou.
Fuck! "NNNRRRGH!" She grunted loudly as she pulled herself back up. Time to start editing, first the hair. This is why she was so glad she was a digital manga artist. All hail ctrl+z! But serious I need to stop! Kamiko thought. As much as she finds Bakugou's body to be A+++ extreme fine, she has a deadline she needs to meet! She doesn't have time to be thinking about his biceps, or his six-pack, or those amazing deltoids, and his sexy fa- AAAHHHHH! Kamiko slammed her tablet pen on the floor as she shot up from her chair. I can't do this anymore! I need a break!
"Whoa there! Hey! Iki are you okay?" Kirishima asked nervously. From the other side of the room, Bakugou looked over at the girl, raising a brow. Does she not feel good? Maybe she's cold, wearing only short sleeves and a short skirt. Should he get her a jacket?
"I'm fine. I just need some fresh air," Kamiko smiled weakly at Kirishima. Her eyes unconsciously glided towards Bakugou's direction, but when their gazes connected she immediately looked away and walked out of the office. Inazumari and Clearvo sat on the sofa in the lounge. Clearvo was playing a video game on his phone while Inazumari was on the call with someone. Kamiko made her way out of the agency, but since it was raining, she just stood by the door, under the roof.
What is wrong with me? She sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. Kamiko has seen countless hot guys, both in person and on t.v. She's not a stranger to muscles, since she used to spend hours drawing them when she was doing anatomy training. She's also familiar with good looking faces, whether it be celebrities, 2D anime characters, or just some hotties she's seen on the streets. But for some reason, Bakugou sticks out like a sore thumb. She was pretty sure he wasn't her type. She's more into the cool beauty kind of look. But for some reason, he's growing on her. By a lot. Is it because I see his face every day? That must be it.
"Achoo!" She sneezed. "Ugh... It is kinda cold." She rubbed her arms.
"Hey." Kamiko nearly jumped when Bakugou suddenly called out to her. When did he- She then noticed the army green jacket in Bakugou's hand. He stretched his arm towards her, but his eyes darted elsewhere. "Put this on."
Is he...worried I might get sick? She originally felt cold, but now there was this warmth spreading inside of her. "T-Thanks..." she muttered as she took the jacket from him.
"Hurry up and put it on. I don't want you fainting out here in the rain." Bakugou shoved his hands in his pockets.
Kamiko chuckled. "Oh my god, you still remember that? I fainted once! You make it sound like I'm one of those rich ladies with a weak body you see in those cliche animes." She put the jacket over herself, already feeling much warmer than before. Oh man... I feel so happy right now. She couldn't contain the smile spreading on her face.
"What was that all about?" Bakugou asked.
"What was what all about?" asked Kamiko.
"Inside the office. You seemed upset," Bakugou muttered. He then suddenly raised his voice and added, "I'm not the one asking. Shitty hair and the idiot are the ones curious."
"Oh! If that's the case I'll just go inside an-"
Bakugou grabbed her hand before Kamiko could put it on the door handle. Kamiko smiled at the blonde as he glared at her in annoyance. "Tsk! Fine! I'm the one asking! You happy?!" He let go of the woman when he made sure she wouldn't open the damn door. She flashed him a close eyed chuckle, the sound of her voice sending tickles inside his stomach.
"You know what Bakugou?" she said amidst her soft laughter. "You really are an amazing hero." Bakugou's eyes widened at her words. Nobody has said those words to him before. People have called him amazing, and some said he was a cool hero, but even he knew that he wasn't a very hero-like hero. People often say he has a villain-like personality, and he admits it. There have been haters when he first debuted that said people like him shouldn't be heroes. Nobody has ever told him that he was an amazing hero. He could tell from the way her eyes narrowed softly at him that she meant every syllable. She often called him 'hero,' but most of the time she did it in a teasing kind of way, and only two times she genuinely called him a hero, once was when he saved her, and once was now.
But for some reason, he saw a hint of sadness in her eyes. It was for a second, disappearing as soon as it appeared. Why? He thought.
"I...was having a little bit of trouble with my manga. But now that I got some fresh air, I'm feeling so much better. Thanks for worrying about me Bakugou. And...thanks for the jacket," Kamiko blushed, placing her hand back on the door handle. "I'm going to go back to work now."
"O-Oh..." Bakugou looked away when she went back into the building. He leaned against the closed door and placed his right hand over his chest. Crap. There's that beating again. He hadn't done any workout today but for some reason, he feels out of breath. Fuck. This is all because of that shitty woman and all that sappy crap she said. He put his other hand over his mouth, his fingers covering his reddened cheeks.
Inside the building, Kirishima and Kaminari joined Clearvo at the lounge. Inazumari went back to his own office to take care of some things. "And my mom saw the mess in my room during the video call, and gave me an earful," Kaminari said.
"Why didn't you just say you're busy and turned off the call," Kirishima asked.
"Oh no! If I did that, she'll just keep bombarding me with calls and lecture me even more. The more I ignore her the crazier she gets. It's better to just get it over with the first time..." Kaminari sighed. The door suddenly opened, bringing in a cold chill. "Brr! Bakugou close that door it's cold!"
"Suck it up weak ass," Bakugou growled at him.
"But dude you should really clean up after yourself. Leaving trash around isn't very manly," Kirishima said.
"Oh. Speaking of cleaning up!" Clearvo suddenly perked up from his game. He leaned his head back on the couch to look up at Bakugou. "Senpai you haven't been back in your apartment for a while now right? It must've gotten pretty dusty there by now." Bakugou froze. Oh yeah. He's right. "I mean you're living with Iki-san right now so it's not like it'll affect you. But I mean with the League of Villains nowhere to be found, who knows how long you'll have to stay with her. Maybe by the time you go back, your place will be covered in spider webs haha!"
Bakugou shuddered. If there's one thing the almighty Bakugou can't stand other than Deku, it's spiders. It's not even that he's afraid of them. If he sees one he'll just blast it to ashes. He just can't stand looking at those creepy eight-legged creatures. He can feel things crawl on his skin just by thinking about them.
Suddenly the explosion hero burst into his office, shouting, "Shitty woman! We're going over to my place tonight!"
"What?" Kamiko nearly jumped out of her seat. When she finally processed what he had just said, she asked, "B-But why?" That came out absolutely out of nowhere.
"To kill the fucking spiders." Bakugou pounded his fist into his palm, setting off a small explosion as he did so.
"...What?"
