Author's Notes- I don't own Dragon Ball Super. The show and manga are created by Toei Animation and Akira T. Here's Episode Twenty Four of the story. This is Caulifla's past, before she met Kale. The Misadventures of Caulifla and Kale: Episode Twenty-Four- "Caulifla's Past"
Planet Sadala, Hospital Parking Lot (Thirteen Years Ago/ Year 767)
In the parking lot of the Sadala Hospital, a car parks near the building. The left car door opens, revealing a saiyan male with a blue outfit under his armor. He has black, medium hair, black eyes, a short, black beard on his chin, and has a dark skin tone. He looks in the car at a woman, who has wild, black hair, black eyes, a pink tube shirt, blue baggy pants, and an over-sized stomach. She angrily stares at the man and says that they should hurry, before it pops. He nods, before closing the door, going over to the other side of the car, and opens the door for the woman. She has some difficulty coming out of the car, but with the help of the man, she's able to get out of there. Afterwards, they walk into the building and into the waiting room. The woman rubs her stomach, like she's full of something. They see a door that has to the words, "Waiting Room" and opens it. They go into the room and find some seats to take. The woman sits on a green chair, causing it to make some squeaking sounds. The man walks to the office and tells the nurses that he's here with his mother for a pregnancy check up. After the nurse writes his name and his mother's name, he goes back to the green chairs and sits next to his mother.
?: Mother? (Looks at his mother) Why do you feel angry? We're out of the car and in the waiting room, so…
?: (Looks at her son) Renso! Can you please shut the hell up!? Nine months ago, your father made love to me and I got pregnant because of his dull mind. "I don't know that a condom is necessary during sex!" Yeah right! Nine months later, I look fat and now in a bigger mood than last time.
Renso: Yeah. I know that he had to leave to do his final mission, but it's alright. (Pats on his mother's back) You don't have to feel bad. You're going to have another child and I have a feeling that he or she is going to be a special child. (Smiles)
?: I hope that you're right. You are nominated for the next captain of the SDF elites next year, so that's a sign!
Nurse: Coli! Renso! The doctor will see you now!
Coli: Great! I don't want to wait on this damn chair and judge my own weight change again! (Gets up and walks to the doctor's office)
Renso: (That's mother for you. One of the strongest saiyans on this planet.) (Gets up and walks to the doctor's office)
Coli, Renso's mother and her son, walks into the doctor's office and performs some screenings. He says that the baby is fine and in a few minutes, she'll have her child. Coli is confused of what the doctor said "in a few minutes." Renso looks at his mother's pants and says to her that they're leaking. Coli looks at her pants and screams. Her water broke! After that, the doctor tells Renso to call the nurses and give Coli a hospital gown. He does that in five minutes and gives his mother the gown.
Planet Sadala, Hospital (Fifteen Minutes later)
Coli is on the hospital bed, trying to push the baby out of her. The doctor tells her to push harder and harder. Renso, who's holding Coli's hand is in pain, due to her squeezing his hand too hard. The doctor see the baby's head coming out and tells her to push one more time. Coli feels like she can't make that last push, but she's a warrior at heart. She doesn't give up that easily! She gives one more push, while screaming to the tops of her lungs. The doctor catches the baby in his arms. Coli takes some deep breathes, relieved that she delivered her second child. The doctor wipes the blood off of the child, wraps it in a pink blanket, and give the baby to Coli. Her vision is blurry, but she can still see her child's face. She smiles, thinking of how precious her new child looks like. Having the same black eyes as her and having that wild hairstyle. She looks like a miniature version of her. Renso sees his new sibling and smiles, too. He's glad that he has a little sibling and has more responsibilities. The doctor walks up to the two and says that the baby is a girl.
Coli: (looks at the doctor) Really!? A girl? (look at her daughter) This is perfect! I have a daughter!
Renso: I have a little sister.
Doctor: So...Have you thought of a name for her?
Coli: Well...I was going to call the child "Verde", but since I have a daugher...I'll name her Caulifla
Renso: (Looks at Coli) Caulifla? Why that name?
Coli: Since my name is Coli and she looks like me, I thought that she would have a name that sounds more like me. Caulifla!
Baby: Gehgehgeh!
Renso: She likes the name!
Coli: (Looks at Caulifla) Caulifla...You're going to be a special saiyan. I just feel like you will have special friends and be one of the stongest saiyans on this planet. Just...Like..Your...Mother… (Closes her eyes)
(Life support machine stops working)
Doctor: Coli! Nurse! Help!
Renso: Mother! Are you okay!?
Doctor: (Picks up Caulifla and gives her to Renso) Take the baby and leave! We need to revive her as best as we can!
Caulifla: Wah! (Cries)
Renso: Mother! NO!
Renso is pushed out of the room and the door shuts close. He has his sister in his arms. He's worried to death about his mother's condition. Five to ten minutes later, Renso, along with Caulifla in his arms wait in the waiting room. The doctor comes back with a sad expression on his face. He tells Renso that Coli didn't make it. Due to a terminal illness that she got ten years ago, she's gone. Coli dies after giving birth to Caulifla. Renso is heartbroken to hear his mother's death. While holding his sister, he looks at Caulifla, who smiles at him. Maybe Coli isn't completely gone. He has her last gift to Sadala that he has to take care of. Afterwards, Renso says thank to the doctor and will have a funeral for his mother. He walks out of the room with Caulifla still in his arms. He's sad that his mother is gone and he has no words of his father coming back. He feels that he has to be more responsible in caring for his sister and protect Sadala from harm. This is Caulifla's journey of becoming Sadala's unnecessary saiyan prodigy.
Planet Sadala, Renso's Cabin (Five Years Later/ Year 772)
In Renso's cabin, the captain of the SDF elites is sleeping in his room. While he's sleeping, a small figure passes his room and into the kitchen. The lights come on and reveals a five year old Caulifla. She has a pink t-shirt on, purple pants, and black shoes. She walks into the kitchen and looks at the cabinet. She flies up to the top shelf, grabs a box of cereal, flies to the left side of the shelf to get a big bowl, and flies to the table. She pours the cereal into the big bowl, until it completely fills it. She puts the cereal next to the bowl and quickly gets the gallon of milk. Caulifla pours in the milk into the bowl, causing the cereal to float up to the top rim of it. Once that is done, she eats her big bowl of cereal. Renso, who's still asleep, smiles, thinking of the best day of his life. While he's sleeping in his room, another figure passes his door and into the kitchen. It sees Caulifla eating cereal. The figure doesn't like her eating a favorite cereal. It walks into the room to reveal itself to Caulifla, who drops her spoon and looks at the figure in terror. Renso is still asleep, but wakes up, after a scream disturbs him.
Caulifla: AHH! Stay away from me!
Renso: (Wakes up) Huh!? What's going on!? (Runs out of the room and into the kitchen) What the hell?!
Caulifla: (Looks at the figure, who's on the ceiling) What's your problem!? Get down from there!
Renso: (Looks at the figure) Marionette!
Marionette: (looks at Renso with a blank expression) …
Renso: Marionette. What's going on? Why are you on the ceiling?
Marionette: I was going to get me some cereal, but your sister took the last parts of it. I got mad and started to climb on the ceiling. (Smiles)
Caulifla: (Charges her attack to Marionette) Whatever! You shouldn't scare me like that!
Renso: (Stops Caulifla's attack) Caulifla! Don't shoot any energy balls in the cabin!
Caulifla: Fine! At least tell her to come down and eat another cereal in the cabinet. (Crosses her arms)
Renso: (Sighs) Marionette...Can you please come down? I have your other favorite cereal.
Marionette: (Narrows her eyes to Renso) Is it the one with the colorful marshmallows?
Renso: (Nods)
Marionette: (Climbs down to the floor) I'm sorry for what I've done.
Renso: Good! Now I have to get ready for my mission. Marionette. Since you're coming with me, prepare yourself.
Marionette: (Nods)
Renso: (Looks at Caulifla) Since I don't have a sitter to watch over you, I have to bring you along and…
Caulifla: I have to be on the mission! (Makes a happy expression)
Renso: ...No. You'll be staying in the headquarters and behave like a good girl.
Caulifla: (Grunts) Really!?
Renso: Of course. I'll have someone to watch over you, while I'm gon- (Hears the phone ring) Can you wait for a minute? I got to get the phone. (Walks to the phone)
While Renso gets the phone and answers it, Caulifla is mad for not being able to go onto one of her brother's missions. She really wants to travel into space and fight some real foes. Marionette, who's looking at Caulifla, stares at her with the most blank expression. Caulifla sees this and quickly turns her head, so that she doesn't get creep out by that expression of hers. Renso listen to the message and nods as it keeps going. He says okay and hangs up. He sighs, knowing that this day has been changed. A gas leak just arrived at the headquarters and they want all elite soldiers to come to the building to take care of it. He looks at Caulifla, worried that he has to bring her with him, while he takes care of the situation. "Maybe everything will be fine. As long as I'm in the building with her, then nothing will happen" are Renso's thoughts, before he returns the kitchen for some breakfast.
Planet Sadala, SDF Headquarters (Forty Minutes Later)
Renso, Marionette, and Caulifla leave the cabin and enter the headquarters of the SDF elites. Caulifla looks at the place and is somewhat disappointed of how it looks. Completely white and boring structures are her thoughts of why she doesn't like. Renso sees one of the elites in a hazardous protection suit and walks to him. Marionette, who's holding a cobweb in her hand, looks around the area, like she's a surveillance robot. Caulifla really doesn't like having her around her a lot, Once Renso is done talking to the elite, he tells the girls that there's a "Safe Area" for the rest of the soldiers to relax, while the gas leak gets fixed. They walk to the safe area for some relaxation. Marionette sits on chair, while playing with her cobweb. Renso sees another door that leads to another room and tells Caulifla that she'll be in that room. They have colored pencils and paper for her to draw. She gives him the usual angry expression, before leaving the room. "Just like mother." are Renso's thoughts, before he hears a familiar voice. Meanwhile, in the other room with colorful decorations, Caulifla sees the paper and colored pencils on a table. She gets on the table, into a chair and starts drawing. While she's drawing, she's thinking of why she can't be on Renso's missions.
Caulifla: (That dumb brother! He knows that I'm at least as strong as he is! How is that he gets to go on missions with his creepy girlfriend, while I have to stay in the headquarters with no fun what so ever! Gr...I wish that I could be something greater than the captain of SDF elites little sister! Mom...Although I haven't known her for a while, I've heard that she's a great warrior. She fought in many battles and comes back with no marks on her body! That's amazing! I wish that I was more like her. I wish...I was something important to this planet.) (Hears the door open)
Renso: Come on. She's over there. (Looks at Caulifa) Hey!
Caulifla: (Looks at Renso and a little girl) (who is this girl? She looks like she might have a panic attack.)
Renso: Caulifla. This is Kale. She's the daughter of one of my friends. I want you to talk to her. Get to know each other more. (Leaves the room)
Caulifla: (Great! Now I have to talk to this shy girl, while he goes to finish his "mission!" This day is just getting much more boring by the minute!)
Kale: H-Hi!
Caulifla: (Looks at Kale) Hi there! My name is Caulifla. What was your name again?
Kale: M-My name is K-Kale.
Caulifla: Oh. Alright. (Sighs) This days just gets more "surprising" for me.
Kale: A-Are you okay? You look sad.
Caulifla: I'm fine. Just bored that's all.
Kale: Oh. Daddy says that we have to stay in the room, so that he and your brother fix something.
Caulifla: Right. The gas leak. (Looks at the door) Maybe… (Smiles) Hey Kale! (Looks at Kale)
Kale: Yes.
Caulifla: How about you and me go somewhere fun? We can go to the training room and play with the toys. What do you say?
Kale: Um...I don't think that we should leave the room. I fear that my daddy is going to get mad at me.
Caulifla: I promise that we'll come back to this room, before your dad and my brother come back to check on us. Got it?
Kale: ...Okay.
Caulifla: That's great! (Gets off of the table and grabs Kale's arm) Let's go! (Runs to the door)
Kale: AH! M-Maybe this was a bad idea! Daddy! Help me!
Caulifla grabs Kale's hand, leaves the room through the exit door and runs to the training room. Caulifla sort of found a friend to play with. They reach the training room and play in it for thirty minutes, before coming back to the safe area. Once they return to the training room, Renso is standing there with his arms crossed and has an angry expression. Caulifla looks happy to see her brother here, until he starts yelling at her for not following his rules. She wasn't expecting him to yell at her. Renso keeps yelling at her for not being able to follow any rule that he gives her. He also says something that sets her off. "You and our mother are the same! You'll never be a warrior, if you act more like her!" are Renso's words to her. Caulifla has enough of this and yells at him for saying that to her. "I will be more like my mom! Whether you like it or not!" are Caulifla's words to Renso, while getting close to him. They keep arguing, until the room starts to shake. They stop yelling and look around the room to see what's starting the earthquake. Caulifla does see the source, but it's not a thing. Kale's glowing green, while covering her ears.
Kale: Make it stop! Please!
Caulifla: Kale…
Collard: (Walks into the room) How's everything going? (Looks at Kale) Kale!
Kale: (Stops glowing and looks at her father) Daddy?
Collard: Everything is fine. They're not arguing. Come to daddy.
Kale: (Runs to her father and hugs him)
Collard: Hehe! There you go. (Looks at Renso) What happened here?
Renso: Nothing. I was just talking to my sister.
Collard: Well...Me and Kale should be going right now. See you later! (Leaves the room)
Renso: (Looks at Caulifla) Caulifla...What I said about our mother…
Caulifla: (Holds out her left hand to Renso) You don't have to say more. We're leaving. Right?
Renso: In a little while.
Caulifla: (Sits on the floor) Okay. (Softly cries)
Renso: (I'd pushed the wrong button. Maybe what I said to her was towards mother. If she was here, then she would punch me and Caulifla in the face. That would be funny! I'll let Caulifla be who she wants to be when she grows up.) (Smiles, before leaving the room)
Renso takes care of the gas leak for five minutes. He returns to the safe area and sees Caulifla still on the ground, making the same sad expression. Renso sits next to her and pats her on the back. "Don't worry. You're a special child. Mother said it in her own words. The reason that I said those words to you is that I've got a message from the higher ups about our father's final mission. They said that he's dead. He died during one of the retrieval missions. There was a hole in his stomach and someone shot him." Are Renso's words, while he cries slowly. "I want him to come back and show you the true pride of the saiyans, but that will never happen. I have the only sister on this planet and I yelled at you! I'm sorry!" Renso said, before Caulifla pats him on the back. "You don't have to apologize. I'll be the best saiyan on Sadala! I'll be more than my mom. I'll be the strongest saiyan on this planet and show you that I can be myself. I'm more than my mom. She made me to continue her legacy." Are Caulifla's words. She smiles at Renso, showing him that she has a bright future ahead of her. They both hug, before leaving the building with Marionette. Caulifla does become a legend on the planet, but for the wrong reasons. She becomes an infamous gang leader and saiyan prodigy. She does make friends with Kale, making them sisters in arms.
Planet Sadala, Headquarters (Present Day, Year 780)
Caulifla, who's sleeping in the middle of Jacqui's spaceship hears some screaming and gun shots. She wakes up, after one of the blasts hits the ship. Jacqui tells her that they made it and should be landing soon. She looks at the hatch and sees a lot of saiyans falling from the sky. One of them hits the ship. His body draws out blood and slides off the ship to the ground. Caulifla is confused of what's gong on. Jacqui informs her that there's a battle going on. Before she can describe the full summary, a blast hits the ship again, causing it to spin out of control.
Caulifla: What the hell is going on!?
Jacqui: The ship is going out of control! We need to get out of here!
Caulifla: What?!
Jacqui: Put your seat belts on! We're ejecting out of the ship!
Caulifla: (Puts her seat-belt on) Okay! It's on!
Phatcilia: Jacqui! I can't get my seat belt to fasten!
Jacqui: Phatcilia! (Accidentally presses the eject button) Oops!
(The seats eject from the ship)
Caulifla: AH! Where's the parachute!?
Jacqui: I have the parachutes, but they're not working!
Caulifla: Oh! The hell to this! (Turns super saiyan) I'll catch you! (Grabs Jacqui)
Jacqui: Grab Phatcilia!
Phatcilia: AH! Jacqui! Help me!
Caulifla: (Puts Jacqui on her back, while grabbing Phatcilia) I got her!
Phatcilia: Huh? (Looks at Caulifla) Oh! You have golden hair again!
Caulifla: Enough talk! We need to get to the headquarters!
Jacqui: Fly to the roof of the building! (Points to the headquarter's roof)
Caulifla: Okay! (flies to the headquarter's roof and puts Phatcilia down)
Jacqui: (Gets off of Caulifla's back) Well! I'm going to need another ship for us!
Caulifla: (Turns back to normal) What the hell is going on here? Why are bodies falling from the sky!? (Walks to the edge of the roof) Holy (Bleep)! Come look at this!
Jacqui and Phatcilia see the battle that's going on above them. Many soldiers, both saiyan and sectorian are fighting against dark shadow like figures. Some are able to take them down, while some fall to the ground with bloody injuries. Phatcillia covers her face, not wanting to see more of it. Jacqui is horrified of what's going on. Caulifla is the most scared. She has to find Janet and Cabba and look for Kale. She tells them to go into the headquarters where it's safe. The three girls go into the building.
