Dawn of Injustice: Return of the Mavericks Secret Report 2 (Sons and Daughters of Shadows)
Disclaimer: This is just secret reports that may or may not be canon to this AU. Secret reports contain references from quotes, poetry and other contents that may be a topic of controversy. This is focused on Dark Slayer's arrival, along with the Umbra Witches and Sword Master: Alastor.

This time, let us delve into the background of one of Cicada's Founders.
In a different world similar to this, there is this realm that was once infested by creatures of malice and darkness. The Demons as they called it once belonged to the Underworld, a realm of desolation and ruin. The legions of the Underworld once conquered this version of the realm until one of those demons awoke to justice and became the Legendary Dark Knight. Thousands of years ago, this Knight sealed away the path to the Underworld and brought peace to humanity. After that, he fell in love with a human woman and sired two sons. Once he is nearing his end, he gave a memento to the two boys, his own swords that he used on saving humanity. These two boys will soon face tragedy and will become rivals. The elder crave for power of his heritage (hating his humanity) while the younger despises the other half that caused them so much grief (hating his devilry). Their rivalry made them clashed so much but in turn they are the ones that taught them to accept their individual difference and halves. And soon their world almost fell once more to the legion of darkness, until they continued their father's legacy and saved it once more. The elder left his son to care for that world to join his brother to close the Underworld's gate once more.
The soon the brothers unite and their bonds repaired. But even then, after their brotherhood rekindles, so is their rivalry.
Once more the two fought a friendly match to decide who is the victor. These two are…
Dark Slayer - Named from Publius Vergilius Maro (Virgil Knight). Bore many names such as Nelo Angelo/Dark Angel, Gilver Bluehide, Urizen the Dark King, V the Nightmare Shadow, The First and The Last. Wields the Blade of Separation, Yamato the Katana.
Alastor - Named from Dante Alighieri (Dante Knight). Bore the names: Sword Master Alastor, The Dauntless Royal Guard of Humanity, Bianco Diavolo/White Demon, Mercenary in Red, The Gunslinger: Antonio Redgrave. Wields dual pistols; Ebony and Ivory, and the Magic Sword of Awakening; Rebellion (which soon evolved into Legendary Sword Dante after fusing with the Blade of Sparda).
Dark Slayer: Don't you dare say it!
Alastor: Hmm, [Shoots two enemies] Jackpot!
After that interruption they continued their fight.
Alastor: Why'd you leave me hanging? We used to love saying those!
Dark Slayer: I have no recollection.
Alastor: Really? Lemme jog that memory! [more enemies came but she slashed them] A little Virgil…crying in the corner. Because mommy got mad.
Dark Slayer: [shreds plenty of his foes] I recall seeing you cry on the corner when father raise his voice.
Then their fight continues.
Alastor: Heh, how will they feel if they see us now?
Dark Slayer: Why does it matter? We're still here, aren't we!?
Alastor: Yeah, you're probably right.
Their brawl still concluded in a tie but the power surge from severing the Qlippoth Tree caused rifts that opened a path to other dimensions. A rift that even Beatrice/Trish and Lady/Mary Anne Arkham ended up investigating and getting caught.
Soon the brothers and the girls, along with two other voluptuous vixens, found themselves in this dimension (Earth-D015). Those girls would later introduce themselves as the Umbra Witches, Jeanne and Cereza/Bayonetta. The power surge did also granted them youth and alteration to their physique, but still retained their overall power. With no idea nor any plans on figuring things out, Dark Slayer set out to do what he's best at: looking for knowledge and power. While Alastor set up a base to at least have somewhere to stay, if ever they couldn't come back (yet). They learned that in this world, there are superhuman called Meta and they are designed to protect this world… until it was decided that they are dangerous and had to be banned.
Dark Slayer: A world that prohibits freedom and usage of one's power. How absurd. After all… Might Controls Everything. Without power, you cannot hope in progressing nor protecting. Those who restrain desire, do so because theirs is weak enough to be restrained. And being restrained, it be degrees becomes passive till it is only the shadow of desire. And the restrainer or reason usurps its place and governs the unwilling.
[AN: I bold and italicize the sentence that belonged to William Blake. It is because that Vergil holds utmost respect to the power of the poet and the poem that he will always quote verses or words from him as homage.]
Dark Slayer now sees the error of the government and look through the files of the heroes and other meta-humans. He now became interested in both defending the citizens of this world (as from Dante's influence and his last shred of humanity, V) as well as teach a little lesson to this ridiculous politics (his way of revolt and enlightening the evolved species).
Dark Slayer: Now I'm "MOTIVATED"! I looks like my brother's wish on idling in this world will be granted afterall. Let's see then… Active evil is much better than Passive Good. Tigers of Wrath are wiser than Horses of instruction. I must create a system or be enslaved by another man's; I will not reason and compare: My business is to create.
Soon, he used the Yamato to cutoff his arm and replace is with another arm (as homage to his son, Nero). As he summoned three creatures as his aide (Griffon, Nightmare and Shadow. The three familiars of V) he recites another homage.
Dark Slayer: Without contraries is no progression. Attraction & Repulsion, Reason & Energy, Love & Hate, are necessary to human existence! Now go! Report to me anything you can find that will interest me!
This will inevitably make Dark Slayer meet Lincoln and discover his ability to sever Meta-Genes from one's body like separating both Human and Demon Halves of himself. The sword can cancel or erase the effectiveness of meta-genes due to it's severing nature. He then gave Lincoln (Firecracker) some wisdom to survive now that his hero days were over… for now. After this, Vergil, along with Dante, became mercenaries working for the government while the Umbra Witches; paranormal investigators along with the other two girls, Trish and Lady. Dark Slayer and Alastor (as their aliases) drawn the attention of those who desire to return the heroes and the rise of Meta-activity. Afterall, energy is an eternal delight. And he who desires but act not, breeds pestilence. So it is written.

Lori - Exuberance is beauty (Based in her speed and leadership)
Leni - The fool that persist in his folly will become wise (based on her klutziness)
Luna - She that face gives no light, shall never become a star (based on her musical persona)
Luan - Excessive sorrow laughs, excessive joy weeps (based on her comedic persona)
Lynn - Great things are done when men and mountains meet (based on her power and enthusiasm)
Lucy - When as sinister person means to be your enemy, they always start by trying to become your friend (based on her broodiness and homage to Helios [which Dark Slayer and Lincoln inevitable defeats and stole her Solarokinesis/Heliokinesis to evolve Lincoln's Pyrokinesis/Thermokinesis])
Lola - To see a world in a grain of sand and heaven in a wild flower Hold infinity in the palm of your hand and eternity in an hour. (based on her competitiveness and outer beauty)
Lana - No bird soars too high if he soars with his own wings. The bird a nest, the spider a web, man is to friendship. But as the birds are to the air, and fish are to the sea. So is contempt to the contemptible. (based on her animalistic instincts)
Lisa - Art is the tree of life. Science is the tree of death. To generalize is to be an idiot. The true method of knowledge is experiment. One thought fills immensely. (based on her intellect)
Lily - The tree which moves some to tears of joy, is in the eyes of others only a green thing that stands in the way. Some see nature all ridicule and deformity… and some scarce to see nature at all. But to the eyes of the man of imagination, nature is imagination itself. (based on her naturalism)
And of course
Lincoln - It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend. (based on his pent-up rage and stress)

Dark Slayer: I shall read to you this poem and you shall understand.
A Poison Tree by William Blake
I was angry with my friend;
I told my wrath, my wrath did end.
I was angry with my foe;
I told it not, my wrath did grow.
And watered it with fears,

And sunned it with smiles,
And with soft deceitful wiles.

Lincoln understood the meaning of the poem. He understood that if he had no proper channel to his emotions and his lingering wrath, Irate may come back stronger than before. Dark Slayer then impart a copy of his poem collection to share with both Lincoln and Lucy (just as he did to his son). Then, he vanished without trace nor goodbye. Believing that they shall meet again, Lincoln departs with new-found wisdom… and ways to channel his energy and emotions.
Dark Slayer: There was no need for us to catch up, Nero. But I do owe you a thanks for restoring Yamato which brought me back here. I lost the right to be your father, but I am proud of you, my son. You've grown up quite well. Perhaps this is the joy my father, Sparda experienced when he sired Dante and I from our mother's womb. Well, this is it… The armies of Ehyeh and heaven will not be pleased if this threat isn't taken care of.
Alastor: Hey, Verg! You coming or what! The Netherworld isn't going to slay itself. Mr. Morningstar is waiting and that Demiurge-dude is getting a little bit twitchy the more we stall the mission.
Dark Slayer: Patience, brother. I get the feeling that won't happen, lest they do the job themselves and break the treaty of Heaven and Hell. (That was a pun based on Blake's poems from " A Marriage of Heaven and Hell")
-Secret Report 2: End-
AN: That's the second of the secret reports. I came to realize that Lincoln isn't supposed to be as brutal when it comes to heroism but there's a reason for that. Just as explained, he needs proper channels to his emotions and he figured that not all of his enemies are willing to surrender and give up their malignant ways, so he do what's needed to be done… even if it means he goes down the path of blood and carnage. It was Dark Slayer that taught Lincoln to know when is to cull and when is to spare, which made him grow impatient of the meta-ban and decided to finally start the coup d'etat/revolution. Of course, Dark Slayer joined (and Alastor, but only because of the bounty and the dark threats that will manifest/draw in due to the fear and wails that the coup will produce).
