Ki Master

Chapter 12

3rd P.O.V

Author Notes: Whoowhoo time for chapter 12. And from Rin's perspective~ This will be fun since we'll see what happened between him and the intruding demon while Ming Xia was getting her strength back. I do not own Blue Exorcist.

3rd P.O.V

It was a blur of white, green and black as Rin panted puffs of air. He had no clue how long he had been running, but he didn't care. His legs had to keep going, to make as much distance as possible so his mother couldn't get hurt.

Doing this also gave him a chance to come up with some sort of plan. His powers were still sealed from the potions affects, practically leaving him defenseless against the demon, so he had to think-and fast

"Get back here boy!" Rin could only count his lucky stars that this dirtbag was the sadistic type, loving to play with his victims before killing them. Now if only he could figure out exactly what type of demon this bastard was the teen wouldn't have to run with his tail between his legs.

And he didn't even have his tail out. "You can't run forever!" With narrowed eyes Rin tried to pick up the pace, ignoring the exhaustion creeping up on his limbs when he suddenly heard what seemed like a sharp whistle.

He tried displacing the sound with his ears-but it was already too late. "AH!" Something ripped through his clothes, slicing his pale, sweating skin. The attack threw him off balance, his foot catching on the slick snow. His body lurched forward, sliding painfully across the cold ground.

Groaning he forced his way to his knees, hissing as the snow jostled onto the hot blood leaving his wounds. "Dammit." This was the worst possible position for him to be in. Injured, lacking his powers, and no weapon to assist him. Hell he wasn't even near any trees to snag a rough branch from.

His little escape led him to what looked to be a clearing. A solid hundred feet at least, he wouldn't have a chance. "I think our little game has gone on long enough." That condescending tone was pissing him off to no end. Oh how he wished he had his powers back so he could kick his ass.

"I'll admit, it was brave of you to lead me away from her. Foolish, but brave all the same. Still, it was a pointless plan. As soon as I kill you there will be nothing nor no one to protect her." That wasn't true. Rin knew for a fact that Yukio was still somewhere in the forest.

No doubt armed for any dangerous run in. Even if he died, his twin would be more than capable of taking this guy down. "Don't count me out just yet you lame excuse for a boogie man! Why don't you reveal yourself? Or are you too chicken to face a human!?"

The fifteen year old pushed himself to his feet, smirking despite the pain he was in. He was all talk at this point, bluffing was all he could do in order to buy time, but much to his surprise it seemed to do the trick as he was finally able to see what his opponent truly was.

It takes a few moments for Rin to rack his brains on what the demon in front of him was. He was never good with memorizing the various types of creatures that lived in Assiah. But the wings, big nose and fan make it pretty obvious. Just his luck he was dealing with a tengu.

"What the hell is a Tengu doing here? Isn't there a mountain you should be perching!?" The powerful bird man was scowling, not at all liking the boy's backtalk. But before he could even say anything a harsh sound hit their ears. "AIIIIIIEEEEEEEE!"

The entire forest shook, with both males paling as they felt something powerful come their way. Though their whitening complexions were from two different perspectives. For the Tengu, he was absolutely astounded at the raw energy coming quickly to their destination.

That slowly closing distance showing more animosity and malice then anything he's faced before. Rin however...knew exactly who was coming. He recognized the enraged scream and incredibly strong aura with ease. His mother was coming and she was PISSED!

In the time she's gone on what could be best described as a 'rampage' was only three times if this was to be counted. The first time was when he was in second grade. He had seen a little girl being bullied and defended her, telling the mean boys to leave her alone.

Of course being the protector meant those bullies went after him instead. Picking on him, pushing him to the ground. It didn't take long for him to snap and hurt them, his instincts going wild. The teachers threw him into one of the old storage sheds as punishment until Ming Xia arrived.

This was around the time when Rin's powers were starting to come forth. And from how he was being treated left her desiring blood! Everything in her screamed that she mutilate every last one of the wretched humans standing before her.

Still she kept herself in check, instead spewing horrible words and threatening to sue the school for their unjust mistreatment of her child. To say she left the teachers and principal quaking in their boots was quite the understatement by the time she finished.

The second time was when Rin was jumped in middle school-then expelled. Though it was at this point her body was starting to weaken, she still stood proud, tall and pissed. She couldn't believe the ludicrous statements coming from the other parents' mouths.

Because her son was different, he was to be blamed? He had done absolutely Nothing wrong, if anything the boys that hurt him were wrong because they were killing birds for fun, like it was some sick twisted game. Yet Rin was the villain?

Just like in elementary school she verbally tore the school, and the guilty children's parents to absolute shreds! Her patience was officially gone and though wasn't happy with his expulsion, quickly realized he was far better off learning from her then anyone else.

Now? She was-not necessarily back to perfect health, but she was no longer succumbed to her weakened, starving state. She was far done playing the peaceful pacifist and Rin was going to see that as she suddenly appeared before them.

Her eyes were glowing, no pupils could be seen as Ki surrounded her majestic form. Her fluffy tail behind her was stiff, practically jerking while she snarled. Within a matter of seconds, practically a blink and she was in front of the tengu, her claws extended.

He just barely able to dodge the blow. "How can this be?! You're not supposed to-" She gives him no time to finish that sentence nor gain distance. Her movements were fast and instinctual as she reached for him. Growling himself he raised his fan, summoning a huge gust of wind to blow her back.

However she easily recovered, choosing to shift forms, becoming a huge black fox with accented green highlights when the moon illuminated her form. Even more surprising was that she had not one tail, but nine as she roared at the tengu.

"A kitsune!?" The avian man was suddenly pushed back by a blinding light, temporarily stunned as he crashed into the thick forest brush. Giving Ming Xia enough time to approach her injured kin. "Ma?" Never has he seen her like this, but he knew it was her.

She gave a small smile as she nuzzled his hair. "We have much to talk about once this is over. Show me your wounds." Gingerly he does as he's told, revealing the slashes made on his legs and back. Whining slightly she presses her nose onto the afflicted skin.

Blinking Rin feels the pain start fading and looks, finding his mother press her face to each wound, healing them with her own Ki. He could see the light surrounding her body dull as she does this. "Mom stop-that's enough." He didn't want her to make herself sick again trying to heal him.

All he got was a breathless chuckle. "Hush Rin. Let me work my magic." It was a few moments of silence, by the time each and every single cut on Rin's body was fully closed was when the tengu collected his bearings. Angry and ready for round three now.

"So, this is the infamous protector I've heard so much about. A kitsune. Specifically the nine tailed fox. To think I'd finally get to meet you in Assiah." Ming Xia huffed as she stood, flashing her nine magically infused tails menacingly.

She couldn't help but find herself irritated with his comment. "Fool. I am not of Japanese descent. Though my cousin and her chaotic antics are quite reputable, know I am a Huli Jing-a fox fairy. Not that the difference will truly matter."

To her it really didn't, as the Japanese and Chinese stories around fox based demons were nearly identical in abilities and origin. Not to mention she was going to murder this cursed intruder for all the bullshit he's caused. Still she felt she had to clarify.

Last thing she needed was to be compared to her cousin back in Gehenna. The elder shape shifter was anything but domestic back home and Ming Xia refused to be mistaken for her. Summoning her magic-and the Ki around each tip of her tails ignited a ball of fire.

Glowing in the same shade of green as her mortal hair she strikes! Combating against the harsh gales her enemy formed. "You'll have to better then that my dear." She growled as she rushed forward, firing as much of her Ki-embedded flames. Making them stronger then usual.

On top of being harder for the irritating demon to dodge. "Grrr take this!" Frustration was clearly seen on her features as she skids across the snow covered ice. It's been so long since she's properly shifted forms, let alone used her abilities in combat.

Even when he trespassed into her territory several times before she never was truly able to make full use of her powers. It was mainly the wards and chants that formed from her mouth that kept him away. All she could do back then was strengthen her protection spells and barriers, keeping his attack at bay.

Now though? She had a chance to end him-and that's what she planned to do! With a bone chilling howl she jumped high into the air, allowing the moon to blind the tengu as gravity took course. "Impossible! Stay away."

Just as her fangs and claws embedded into his neck-a barrage of bullets pelted their frames. Rin watched in horror as both fell into a bloody pile. The tengu within moments disappearing into a puff of smoke and ashes, covering his still mother's body.

"Rin!" Immediately his blue eyes swerved towards the trees. "Are you alright?!" There he saw Yukio, panting with sweat dripping down his face. In each hand was a gun gleaming in the moonlight, both nozzles smoking.

To be continued

Author Notes: Well I have to say I got quite a bit done in this chapter. Ming Xia showed up, healed her son's wounds and went to war...only to get pelted full of bullets. Next chapter we'll see if I kill her off or not, big fun there~

But sadly that is it for now. Guys thank you all so much for reading the story so far. Please feel free to fav/follow/review as it would mean a crap ton to me. I'll be seeing all of you next time. Tchao for now~
