Chapter 24: Through my Enemy's Eyes

At Necrafa's lair, Tazma was sitting on the ground copying old magic.
"Ugh copying old magic onto parchment? We have spellpads now, this is so humiliating. At least she has Nick and the Trix out and moving. I hate that old crone." Tazma mumbles when Necrafa comes in.
"Did you say something?" Necrafa asks.
"What? No I just said these scroll tubes. The chrome is lovely." Tazma said.
"Necrafa." Looking up they saw Nick and the Trix walk in.
"We have the titan you asked for." Icy said as they held up an amulet for her.
"Ah excellent, this one will prove quite useful to me." Necrafa said taking it.
"It be nice if you let us keep one once in a while." Darcy mumbles.
"We do all the work." Nick said.
"Excuse me?" Necrafa asks grabbing the 5 of them and lifting them into the air. "I see you all still haven't learned your lesson. Do you know how I reward my most loyal servants?"
"You chuck them through portals." Stormy growls.
"Dreadbane was a worthless pile of bones, but I thought you 5 had vision." Necrafa said holding them out towards the portal she threw Dreadbane through.
"No! We do!" Icy yells.
"We can get you as many titans as you want!" Nick said.
"I can help you!" Tazma said.
"Tell me, before I lose my grip." Necrafa said.
"I-I have information. When I was a starling at the Astromancers I heard of something, a prophecy. If we find it you can take your revenge on Drake City." Tazma said.
"See you do have vision when properly motivated." Necarfa said pulling them away. "Let these be your first taste of true power." Necrafa said summoning 5 glowing masks. "Find me this prophecy and I can give more, much more."
Taking one the 5 of them grin evilly liking the sound of that.
At the Astromancer Base, Nova Terron and the Astromancers were looking down at the Mysticons and Seekers but this time they had Montehue, Teien, Aisha, Lucas, Lady Nimue and Grier for backup.
"Really? Was all this necessary?" An Astromancer asks.
"Call it a safety net in case you guys try anything funny." Grier said.
"I can't believe you created a new Huntik Foundation." An Astromancer said.
"Well excuse me for wanting reliable help." Dante said when Nova Terron noticed Lady Nimue.
"Nimue I should have known you would be involved." Nova Terron asks.
"Nova Terron, long time no see." Lady Nimue smirks.
"Who is responsible for reforming this once abandoned organization?" A female Astromancer asks.
"That would be us." Dante said as he and Ryou stepped forward.
"Dante Vale, of all the sneaky and conniving." Nova Terron growls.
"You really want to go there after all the sneaky garbage you guys have pulled on us? You called us here for a reason so I suggest you stop your whining and start talking." Ryou said.
"Very well, in light of public opinion, we've decided to drop your status as outlaws." Nova Terron said.
"Took you long enough." Tecna said.
"However, this doesn't excuse your reckless and disobedient behavior." Nova Terron said.
"Uh with all due respect what you call reckless and disobedient we call…" Arkayna starts.
"Nailing it." Piper finished causing Proxima to huff.
"Oh get over it." Zhalia said.
"We also believe a public apology is in order." An Astromancer said.
"Great, we're waiting." Musa said.
"We meant you." He corrects.
"For what? Saving the realm?" Zarya asks.
"If anything you idiots owe us the apology." Ryou points.
"Excuse me?" Nova Terron asks.
"No he's right! We were this close to destroying the codex at the Crystal Archipelago, but then you idiots flew in and ruined it. It wasn't our fault they got away with the Codex it's yours!" Arkayna said.
"Whoa." Sophie said surprised at Arakyna's reaction when the door opens to reveal Malvaron.
"Malvaron so glad you could finally join us." Nova Terron said.
"Perhaps you can talk some sense into them." An Astromancer said.
"Don't bother. We were just leaving." Arkayna growls storming out with everyone following her.
"I have to say Nova Terron. I am disappointed in what you have become." Lady Nimue said as she left.
"Go ahead I'll catch up." Malvaron said walking in.
"Your Mysticons and Seekers are out of line what do you have to say for yourself?" Nova Terron asks.
"Actually I was hoping you would do all the talking." Mavlaron smirks before snapping in fingers and Nick and the Trix walk in.
Before Nova Terron could even react Malvaron attacked.
Down the hall, Arkayna was leading the Seekers and Mysticons out and Montehue was laughing loudly holding his sides.
"Did you see the look on his face?" Montehue asks.
"I gotta admit Arkayna that was impressive." Sophie said.
"Mess with the Dragon Mage you get burned." Zarya said.
"We have done so much good. Unifying the codex, saved the city, gathering titans and seekers and they have the nerve to say we need to apologize?" Arkayna asks.
"Even so anger is not the way to make a point." Teien said.
"True but speaking from experience those guys don't listen very often." Dante said.
"They hardly ever." Lady Nimue said.
"Well even so they can't treat us like that and expect us to fall back in line." Ryou said.
"Ryou makes a good point.
"Look they grind my gears too but maybe we should hear them out." Em said when they heard loud smashing noises from the Astromancers room.
"Wow, Malvaron is really giving them a piece of his mind." Zhalia said when Malvaron came walking in with Cathy and Scarlet.
"Sorry about the wait. Took a while to calm Tersly down." Malvaron said.
"Not to mention Red Nile had to run off to somewhere and Vivian wouldn't sit down." Scarlet said.
"So how did it go?" Cathy asks.
"Wait a second. If you're here who's with the Astromancers right now?" Ryou points.
All of them pause for a few seconds when they heard an even louder explosion snapping them out.
"By the Hammer of Harmon the Astromancers are under attack!" Em gasps.
Inside, Astromancers fired their attacks but Darcy cartwheels in and both her fists glowed.
"Dragonfist!" Darcy said nailing them both in the gut.
Proxima fires a blast of magic but Icy repels all her attacks with ease.
"Is that really the best you got?" Icy smirks.
"I don't need to justify myself to you!" Proxima attacks but Icy blocks and fires a blast knocking her away.
"Stand strong! We can't let them win!" A female astromancer said as she was blasted away by Nick and Stormy.
Chuckling Malvaron uses dark tendrils to lift Nova Terron up.
"What do you want?" Nova Terron asks.
"The prophecy. Tell me where it is." Malvaron said pulling him.
"The prophecy is too dangerous. I can't. I won't." Nova Terron said.
"Then I will pry the secret from your mind." Malvaron said summoning the mask Necrafa made and placing it on his head.
From outside, all the Mysticons and Seekers blasted in to see the information be pulled out through the mask.
"Evil is not a good look for me." Malvaron said.
"Who are you?" Grier asks as Montehue threw an axe but Malvaron blocks it before changing forms revealing it was Tazma.
"Tazma." Malvaron growls.
"Couldn't fool you little brother." Tazma said.
"Well now it's a party." Nick said as they were circled.
"You can't win. You're outnumbered and outmatched." Teien said readying knives.
"It would be unwise to try and fight." Scarlet said.
"We don't need to. We got what we came for." Tazma said.
"Wendigo!" Stormy said pulling out an amulet and from it, a wind-based titan appeared which released a giant tornado blowing everyone away and when they recovered they saw the enemy had escaped.
"Dang it! They got away!" Cathy said.
"Starmaster!" Turning around they saw Proxima running to Nova Terron who was on the ground in pain. "Are you okay?"
"The prophecy." Nova Terron said.
"Prophecy? What's he talking about?" Ryou asks as they all walked over.
"What did it predict?" Dante asks.
"It predicted the Apocalypse. Only Nova Terron knew where it is." An Astromancer said.
"And now so does Tazma." Zarya said.
"Did I mention I hate my sister?" Malvaron growls.
"Stop her or the realm is doomed! Doomed!" He said.
"Alright we're gonna need a stealth team to help us get this back." Ryou said.
"I'll come with you guys." Zhalia said.
"I can help too." Lucas said as he and Sophie stepped up.
"I've gone on quite a few stealth missions myself." Aisha said.
"The rest of us will stay here and make sure they don't try anything funny while you're away." Tecna said.
"Be careful and watch out for Necrafa." Dante warns.
"We will." Ryou nods.
"Alright everyone, it's Magic Hour!" Arkayna said.
At Necrafa's base, the 9 of them flew in on the Griffins when they noticed a guard all by himself.
"Piper." Ryou said as Piper threw her hoop and it destroyed him.
"Goodbye creepy demon guard." Piper said.
"So this is where Necrafa lives huh? Spooky." Lucas said.
"Stay close we don't want anything crazy to happen." Zhalia said.
Sneaking in behind some rocks, they saw Necrafa talking to Tazma, Nick and the Trix.
"According to the memories I stole from Nova Terron we need the Codex to unlock the prophecy." Tazma said.
"But I threw the Codex into the portal after I was freed." Necrafa reminds.
"We'll find a way to retrieve it." Tazma said.
"Maybe if we sent our titans in, we could get it." Nick suggests.
"No you will retrieve it, personally." Necrafa said shocking them.
"What? No!" They panicked as Necrafa grabs all 4 of them.
"Don't come back without it." Necrafa glares before throwing them through the portal.
"Yikes, remind me never to work for an evil witch queen." Zarya said.
Seeing his evil mother, Ryou couldn't help but choke up.
"Ryou?" Sophie said noticing Ryou was starting to shake in fear.
"Sorry little nervous." Ryou said.
"That is the Queen of all evil." Aisha said.
"We gotta sneak past her and get to that portal." Piper said.
"We need some kind of distraction." Zhalia said.
"What can possibly get that woman's attention?" Em asks.
Ryou pauses before getting an idea. "Something she can't resist." Ryou said standing up. "Wait until her back is turned and jump in."
"Ryou what are you—" Before Piper could finish Ryou walks out kicking a rock alerting Necrafa.
"Who's there?!" Necrafa asks raising her scepter when Ryou walks into the light causing her to pause.
"Been a while since we were alone like this." Ryou said as Necrafa lowered her staff and laughs.
"I knew it was only a matter of time before you came back to me." Necrafa said walking down to him.
"He's not serious is he?" Lucas asks.
"She's gonna kill him." Aisha gulps.
"No she won't and we know why." Em said.
"Ryou's buying us time, come on." Arkayna said as they snuck past Necrafa.
"I must say I'm surprised to see you showed up on your own free will." Necrafa said when Ryou noticed everyone jump into the portal. "But I can sense you're hiding something." Necrafa said raising her staff to Ryou's neck so she was looking him in the eyes. "You still fear me, don't you?"
As Ryou looks into her eyes he tightens up remembering the attack on Drake City and her turning him into the Dragon of Destruction.
"Oh Ryou don't worry. You don't have to fear me. I bet if you gave me a chance you'd enjoy standing at my side." Necrafa said as Ryou steps back in fear. "You are scared. Perhaps this would suit you better."
Necrafa's mask glowed bright before it changed shape to reveal a woman with long black hair and brown eyes causing Ryou to gasp.
"No way." Ryou said.
"Yes, Ryou meet the face of the woman who carried you as a baby, the face Dante Vale fell in love with, the face of your mother." Necrafa declares.
In the portal, everyone was struggling to keep it together as they flew to the other side.
"I love interdimensional travel!" Piper said.
"I hope Ryou can stall Necrafa long enough for us." Sophie said.
"Just to be safe we better hurry." Aisha said.
"How long does this go on for?" Lucas asks.
"And how long are we gonna be spinning?" Em asks.
"Hopefully before the princess losses her lunch." Zarya said as Arkayna was holding her hands to her mouth trying to not barf when the portal ends and they fall out crashing into a desert.
"Again! Again!" Piper cheers when Arkayna runs off to hurl.
"Yeah I don't think so." Sophie said as they all got up.
"So this is where Necrafa was imprisoned." Lucas said looking around.
"That's why she's so cranky." Piper said.
"Among other things." Aisha said when Zarya spotted some tracks.
"Looks like they went that way." Zarya points. "If we hurry we might—"
Before Zarya could finish Choko started chirping loudly pointing in the opposite direction.
"No, this way Choko." Zarya said when Choko hopped on Piper's shoulder and chirped.
"Stop it Choko that tickles." Piper said when Choko ran to Zhalia's leg and pulled.
"Alright fine, what is so important?" Zhalia said turning around and when she did her eyes widen. "Uh guys we have problem."
Turning around all them saw a giant sandstorm heading towards them.
"Brace yourselves!" Arkayna yells as the storm knocks them all out.
When Arkayna started to wake up she saw Piper and Choko looking down at them.
"Yaay. You're awake." Piper said.
"What happened?" Arkayna groans as everyone else started to wake up.
"You snoozers were asleep forever. I was so bored." Piper said.
"Ugh my head feels like Kymraw used it for target practice." Zarya groans.
"You do this often Sophie?" Lucas groans.
"Sadly yes." Sophie said as they all stood up.
"Uh guys where are the tracks?" Aisha asks looking around.
"The storm must've covered up their tracks." Em said.
"Great, just great." Arkayna groans.
"It's gonna take forever to find them now." Sophie said.
"Yeah that's the bad news." Piper said.
"Is there good news?" Zarya asks.
"Yep, I saw a garden over yonder." Piper points.
"How over yonder? You're an elf." Zarya reminds.
"Yeah you can see pretty far." Em said.
"Yeah, that's the badder news." Piper said.
"This day just gets better and better." Zhalia said as they started walking.
"I hope Ryou's handling himself better than us." Zarya said.
Back in the castle, Ryou was uneasy as Necrafa circled him examining him. Seeing a human face on that demon body was pretty weird.
"So due to an accident you lost all your memories." Necrafa said.
"Yes." Ryou said.
"Small complication. It doesn't matter." Necrafa said before walking to her throne and sitting down. "So what if you can't remember your past. You don't need that. You only need to look to the future. Tomorrow is yours for the taking, but you have to want and to have it you need power."
"And say I do join you and I help you get this power? What are gonna do after throw me away like you just did with Tazma and the Trix?" Ryou asks.
"Those 5 are only clinging to limited usefulness as they have to survive. You are different Ryou, my blood flows through your veins. You have a power that you've only begun to scratch, but you let your fear stop you from reaching your full potential." Necrafa said.
Ryou pauses and realized she was right. Every time he went wild and the Dragon of Destruction came out was because he was scared and angry.
"Why are you telling me all this?" Ryou asks.
"Oh Ryou, I'm your mother, I created you, and what mother doesn't dream of their child following in their footsteps." Necrafa smiles.
"Your footsteps lead to the apocalypse." Ryou said.
"Ryou give me a chance. You're my Dragon of Destruction and the sooner you accept that the sooner we can rule together." Necrafa said snapping her fingers and to her right a second throne appeared.
In the desert, Tazma, Nick and the Trix were walking through the sand looking for any sign of the Codex.
"My minions rise up. Spread out and find the Codex." Tazma said creating shadow creatures that took off in different directions.
"Remind me why we're risking our lives for this old bag of bones for some dumb prophecy?" Stormy asks.
"Because if we don't she'll get rid of us like she did with Dreadbane." Nick reminds.
"Oh like you're one to talk. I bet once Necrafa finds out about you wanna take Mysticon Tactician's status she'll probably kill you on the spot." Darcy said.
"Stop your whining. Once it reveals the prophecy we can use it to become more powerful than Necrafa herself and she will cower before us." Tazma smirks.
"Ooh I like the sound of that." Icy grins.
In another part of the desert, the Mysticon and Huntik Seekers were struggling to make it through the desert.
In the lead, Lucas took off his jacket and put it over his head to keep cool.
"Hey girls pick up the pace. That Codex isn't gonna find itself." He calls out.
"How are you not tired?" Zhalia pants.
"One I thing I learned from my many MANY competitions with Ryou was how to pace myself and not tire out quickly." Lucas said.
"Well that's great for you but not so much for us." Zarya said.
"I'd kill for a slush gulpie right now. Or even a tall glass of water." Piper pants.
"Yeah." All the girls said in agreement.
"Probably best not to think about it." Arkayna pants when she looks ahead to see Gawayne in a small pool of water and a glass of lemonade. "Water!"
Running forward Arkayna leaps up but ends crashing into the sand.
"What the?" Arkayna said.
"It's the heat, you probably saw a Mirage." Em said.
"Really?" Arkayna said when Mirage Gawayne appears across from her.
"You're so out of it you're hallucinating about me." Mirage Gawyane mocks before disappearing.
"Come on Arkayna pull yourself together." Zhalia said when she a mirage of a young her but dancing with a bunch of other kids who were here friends. "Whoa I knew some good moves."
"Zhalia snap out it, there's nothing there." Em said when the mirage changed so Em saw multiple Kasey's dancing in front of her. "I like this mirage." Em smiles.
"Sorry guys I guess you're just not as strong as—" Before Zarya could finish she saw Ryou standing across from her holding up a slush gulpie, a plate of snorkablls and a video game console.
"You look like you could use a break." Mirage Ryou said.
"Oh baby." Zarya ran to him to hug him but goes through him and falls to the ground. "Ugh I couldn't even get one sip." Zarya groans.
"Sip? Zarya what is going on?" Aisha asks when she sees a mirage of a pool and she saw Ryou waving at her.
"Hey Aisha come take a dip." Ryou said.
"Now that's what I'm talking about." Aisha grins reaching for her jacket to take off.
"Aisha no!" Sophie said stopping her. "These mirages are driving us all crazy." Sophie said when she looks to see a mirage Ryou winking at her sitting at a fancy dinner table causing her to sigh as he held up a big pitcher of water.
"Guys my mirage is pretty big." Piper said.
Turning around they saw the large shadow wasn't a mirage…it was Dreadbane.
"That's no mirage!" Em gasps.
"Dreadbane!" Zhalia gasps as they all drew their weapons and took fighting stances.
"Get him!" Arkayna said as they all leaped in to attack.
Firing arrows, hoops, and blasts of magic they smash into Dreadbane knocking him to his knees.
"Stop. Please." Dreadbane begs.
"You'll pay for what you did." Arkayna points.
"I mean you no harm." Dreadbane said getting up.
"Yeah right and Cyclops can wink." Zarya said.
"Wait they can't wink?" Em asks confused.
"Yeah you need two eyes to wink." Lucas corrects.
"He's right, otherwise it's just a blink." Dreadbane said.
"Unleash the Dragon!" Arkayna said.
"No!" Em said knocking Arkayna's arm up so the dragon shot into the air.
"What are you doing?" Arkayna asks.
"We can use him to help us find the Codex." Em said.
"Yeah and this guy doesn't exactly look like he's in fighting shape." Zhalia said.
"Look at his head." Sophie said as they noticed a giant crack on his skull.
"Hmm maybe that's why he doesn't remember us." Zarya said.
"This is the guy that kept Dante prisoner?" Aisha asks when Choko walked up to Dreadbane.
"Please don't hurt me, I can't stand violence." Dreadbane said.
"I don't think he remembers him." Em said walking up to him. "Hey it's okay Dreadbane. We won't hurt you."
"Who is this Dreadbane? My name is Reginald." Dreadbane said.
"Hey Reggie nice to meet ya." Piper said as Dreadbane shook her hand but ended up shaking Piper's whole body.
"Would you like to come visit my garden?" Dreadbane asks.
"Your garden? Yes please. See things are looking up." Piper said looking to Arkayna who growls annoyed.
In the other part of the desert, the 5 of them were started to get hot and tired while the phantoms were searching all over.
"So thirsty." Icy said.
"Focus, we have to find that Codex." Tazma said when one phantom stopped and pointed to the sand.
"They found something!" Dracy said.
"Our ticket to freedom!" Tazma said they ran to it but when Tazma used her magic to pull it out it was just a boot. "A boot? A boot?!"
"You stupid pieces of shadows!" Stormy snaps blasting them away before turning to Tazma. "This is all your fault!?
"My fault?" Tazma said.
"You just had to be the kissup to Necrafa and because of that we're stuck in that place because you don't have a backbone!" Stormy said.
"Oh I don't have a backbone? She sends you four out to get titans for her. You're nothing but chore monkeys!" Tazma said.
"At least we do something! When was the last time you did something useful?" Icy asks.
"Same to you! You four are pathetic!" Tazma said.
"Well welcome to the club because you're as bad as us!" Nick snaps.
"Ugh damn you Necrafa! You sent us on a fool's errand." Tazma said.
"Because you are fools." Turning around they saw a Mirage Tazma behind them shocking them.
In the castle, Necrafa led Ryou to the window where they saw a great view of the dead area.
"Just think Ryou, once I have the prophecy you and I will rule everything and destroy anyone who gets in our way." Necrafa smiles.
"But there would be nothing left to rule." Ryou said.
"Oh don't you worry. We won't kill everyone, those who stand down will be our servants. And as my son, I will make sure you could have anything your heart desires. Power, titans, your own city, and I'll even give you some living servants. After all I might want a grandchild someday to keep our empire strong." Necrafa said causing Ryou to freeze.
'Wow, demon parents can embarrass you just like human parents.' Ryou thought before turning to her. "Say I did join you. What would happen to me?"
"With your powers alongside mine, you and I will destroy the Mysticons and Seekers. And once I grab Dante, the family will be together again, but this time you two won't get away like last time." Necrafa said as her face turned back into a mask.
"Last time?" Ryou asks.
"That memory is locked deep inside, maybe I can help." Necrafa said as her boney finger glowed black and she touched his forehead causing Ryou's eyes to widen as he saw a memory.
Flashback:
We find ourselves in Necarfa's castle, but in it Dreadbane was pacing back and forth.
"General Dreadbane!" Tibion said coming in.
"What is it? Can't you see I'm busy." Dreadbane said turning to the skeletons.
"We found something on our search. It has her mark." Tibion said getting his attention.
"Bring it in." Dreadbane said.
Clearing a path, four skeletons pushed in an object covered in dark cloak with the mark of the Spectral Hand.
"What is in it?" Dreadbane asks walking over.
"We don't know sir we cannot open it. All we know a large amount of dark power is inside it." Tibion said.
"Then allow me. Dreadbane slams his sword down on it but a dark barrier repelled Dreadbane's attack making it fall back.
"The cage is protecting whatever is inside. Nothing can open it." Tibion said.
"Then we will hold onto it until we can find a way. Put in another room." Dreadbane orders.
As they wheeled the object out Dreadbane looks to the statue of Necrafa.
"My love, I will find a way to save you. I promise." Dreadbane vows.
Little did he know a shadowy figure was sneaking in.
"Found you." It mumbled.
When the skeletons left the object in an empty room, the figure emerged from the shadows revealing it to be Dante with a determined look on his face.
Walking up to the object he held out his hand to see the barrier.
"Breakspell." Dante said as the barrier crumbled and shattered.
When it broke Dante heard a faint crying coming from in it.
Looking inside he saw a baby Ryou inside wrapped up in a blanket with Necarfa's mark on his hand crying.
Instantly a sad look appeared on Dante's face.
"There, there it's okay. Daddy's here, daddy's got you." Dante said picking him up. "I know, this world is scary and it's my fault. She tricked into creating you so she could create a monster…but I promise you will never have to be that. Your future is your choice, Ryou." Dante said as Ryou looks to his dad and stops crying.
Dante was about to turn and leave when he heard a noise.
"Who's there?!" Dreadbane said he saw Dante holding something and the object was open. "Give me that!" Dreadbane drew his sword.
Acting quickly Dante kicks the cradle towards Dreadbane who slashes it in half before running to the window and leaping out.
"Help me, Kipperin!" Dante yells as Kipperin wraps around Dante and he flies off into the sunrise with Ryou.
"NOOO!" Dreadbane roars.
Flashback End:
Zooming out Ryou pants heavily before looking to Necrafa.
"That idiot Dreadbane didn't know your true value but your father did that's why he took you away from me." Necrafa said.
"No…dad took me away because he wanted to give me a choice. Let me choose the person I wanted to be." Ryou said.
"And now I'm offering you a choice." Necrafa said.
In the desert, Dreadbane had set up a tarp for shelter next to a beautiful garden filled with lotuses.
"Oh this is nice." Piper said.
"How long have you been here Dreginald I mean Reginald?" Em asks.
"For as long as I can remember." Dreadbane said.
"Did Necrafa send you here on a quest?" Zarya asks.
"Who is that?" Dreadbane asks.
"Yeah right, like we're supposed to believe that." Arkayna said.
"I don't know if it's a lie he's doing pretty good hiding it." Zhalia said.
"Are you here all alone?" Aisha asks.
"Just me and my garden." Dreadbane said showing them a huge field of them.
"Impressive, why did you plant them all like this?" Piper asks.
"You know I don't remember. Would you like some water?" Dreadbane offers holding out a bowl.
"No!" Arkayna said swatting it away. "You may have them fooled Reginald but not me."
"Arkayna there's being right and there's being mean." Lucas said.
"Focus, we need to find the Codex." Arkayna said.
"Maybe Reggie can help." Piper said.
"Excuse me but have seen a big book anywhere?" Sophie asks.
"Ah yes I do remember having a book, it had a big disk on it." Dreadbane said causing them to smile.
"That's what we're looking for." Aisha said.
"Alas I lost it." Dreadbane admits.
"Where?" Zarya asks.
"There." Dreadbane said pointing to his massive garden.
"Oh boy." Em said as all of them cringed.
In the other part of the desert, Mirage Tazma was following the five of them.
"Leave me alone!" Tazma said.
"Ignore it, we're hot and tired." Nick said.
"Would you like some help?" Mirage Tazma asks.
"We don't need help from a mirage." Tazma said when her mirage walked in front of them.
"Why do you conspire against Necrafa?" Mirage Tazma asks.
"Because we're better than her." Tazma said.
"Oh really? You let a dumb troll double-cross you, you lose the codex and a handful of amulets and the Mysticons and Seekers humiliate you all again and again." Mirage Tazma said. "You're all too weak."
"Shut up!" The 5 of them snap exploding in rage.
In the garden they were searching high and low for the Codex when Piper noticed some lawn gnomes.
"What cute little gnomies." Piper said.
"I widdled them myself. Hey have you heard about the gnome that wouldn't eat his vegetables? He wouldn't touch them gnome matter what." Dreadbane said as they all chuckled lightly.
"He needs to work on that." Em whispers.
"You guys aren't seriously buying this are you?" Arkayna asks.
"Arkayna we've literally given him a million openings to attack us but he hasn't once." Aisha said.
"Look at him." Lucas said.
"Who's a cute little foz? You are yes you are." Dreadbane said petting Choko.
"That's it! I've had enough of this act!" Arkayna said.
"But I am just a humble gardener." Dreadbane said.
"You're a monster!" Arkayna snaps summoning her staff and fires a blast of green flames forcing Dreadbane to duck but it burned one his flowers.
"No! My lotuses! My love!" Dreadbane said running to it.
"Arkayna. What the heck was that?" Sophie asks as she and Em pulled her away.
"He took my parents. I can't forgive him." Arkayna said.
"And we don't expect you too, but if we wanna find the codex we gotta work with him." Em said.
"So stop being a whiny baby and wait until we find the book." Sophie said.
"My love, my queen." Dreadbane sobs.
"Wait your queen? Do you mean Necrafa? You planted these for her?" Arkayna asks.
"I planted these for the woman I love. The sparkle in her eye filled with such wisdom, her face as flawless as a porcelain mask." Dreadbane said.
"The whole mask thing total red flag." Zarya said.
"Yeah it take it from Dante, she's not as amazing as you think." Zhalia said.
"You loved her, didn't you? All those horrible things you did was out of love to bring her back." Arkayna growls.
"Aww you're just a big softie." Piper said picking the petals off a flower. "I love you, I love you not, I love you, I love you not."
Hearing this Dreadbane gasps as he remembers Necrafa throwing him into the portal.
"Necrafa! Why my Queen?! Why did you abandon me here?!" Dreadbane asks ripping flowers out of the ground when Arkayna gasps.
"Wait a minute, the flowers are his queen. Em!" Arkayna said.
"Way ahead of you." Taking out a seeker orb, Em threw it into the air and did an aerial scan of the area around them. "Projecting aerial scan."
In front of them they saw the garden was the shape of Necrafa's mask.
"The garden is Necrafa." Zarya gasps.
"But what's that?" Lucas asks pointing to a sparkle in the eye.
"It's the Codex! Great job Lucas." Sophie smiles.
"Come on before Dreadbane remembers you guys too." Aisha said as they ran to that spot.
Nearby on the cliffs, Tazma, Nick, Icy, Stormy and Darcy were panting heavily as they tried to attack Mirage Tazma but couldn't.
"See? Too weak." Mirage Tazma mocks.
"Shut up! We are the best seekers in the world." Icy growls.
"Keep telling yourself that, in the meantime that one Mysticon Tactician is better than you'll ever be." Mirage Tazma said.
"Shut up!" Nick said leaping at her but misses and falls to the ground.
"I am the Mistress of Shadows! I bend to no one!" Tazma said but ends up tripping and falling.
"You are your own worst enemy." Mirage Tazma said before disappearing.
Groaning all of them were exhausted and worn out from trying to fight back.
"Come children." Looking up they saw Necrafa looking down at them. "Put all your trust in me and I will make you stronger than you ever thought possible."
Grinning all of them stand tall and see the garden in the shape of Necarfa just below the portal.
"Long live Necrafa." Tazma said.
"And may the Seekers." Icy starts.
"The Mysticons." Stormy adds.
"And anyone else who stands in our way." Darcy adds.
"Suffer." Nick finishes.
Down below in the garden, they were all searching through the flowers.
"Man this is a thick garden." Aisha said.
"Come on, it has to be here." Arkayna said moving some flowers away when she finds the Codex. "Yes! The Codex!"
"Excellent." Tazma said appearing in with the 4 Seekers behind her.
"We'll be taking that off your hands! Darkfog!" Nick said creating dark cloud around Arkayna before Icy leaps in and knees Arakyna in the gut before kicking the Codex into the air.
"Oh you don't!" Lucas said about to run in when Nick blocks his path.
"Dragonfist!" Nick said with a glowing fist.
"Honorguard!" Lucas said blocking it.
"Where's Mysticon Tactician? He's next." Nick asks.
"Sorry the position of his rival is already taken!" Lucas said dispelling the barrier and kicking Nick backwards.
As Darcy catches the Codex, Aisha moves in and throws a series of punches and kicks but Darcy blocks.
"Hmm not bad, but I'm better!" Darcy said as darkness surrounded her nails and she nails Aisha sending her flying back.
Turning around Darcy throws the codex to Tazma who catches it.
"Enjoy your time here, the weather is a bit much." Tazma said as a sandstorm flew in and they made their escape.
"Dragon Mage look out!" Dreadbane said pushing Arkayna out of the way as a few gnomes hit him on the head making him fall to the ground.
"Reginald are you okay?" Arkayna asks.
"Reginald is gone…I am Dreadbane!" Dreadbane roars revealing that blow had jogged his memory back.
"Great now he remembers." Zarya groans as Dreadbane swings his sword firing spikes at them but Em blocks it with her shield.
"I miss Reginald! Fly, Phoenix Fly!" Piper said firing a phoenix knocking Dreadbane back only to see Tazma, Nick, Icy, Stormy and Darcy making their escape.
"They're getting away!" Arkayna said.
"Not for long! Zarya!" Zhalia yells running ahead with Hyperstride.
Firing multiple arrows Zhalia uses them as stairs as she leaps up and kicks Tazma making her drop the Codex.
Stormy dives down to get it when Sophie blasts her out of the way allowing Arkayna to pick it up.
"Got it! Now let's get out of here!" Arkayna said when Icy, Darcy and Nick move in as Stormy and Tazma get up and surround them.
"In the name of Necrafa none of you will leave." Tazma said when spikes flew in and knocked them all back.
"Necrafa will betray you like she betrayed me!" Dreadbane declares.
"She betrayed you because you were a lousy servant!" Nick said as the 5 of them fired their attacks but Dreadbane retaliated.
"Now's our chance!" Arkayna said as Zarya fired an arrow with a rope through the portal and they flew through it.
"You're not getting away that easy!" Nick yells as they chase after them.
In the castle, Necrafa looks to Ryou and holds out a hand.
"Join me, and we can rule the realm as mother and son." Necrafa declared.
Ryou was about to give an answer when suddenly the arrow flew out of the portal and all his friends flew out with the codex.
"What?! The Mysticons?!" Necrafa gasps.
"Hey love what you've done with the place." Zarya said.
"We'll just take this with us and leave!" Piper said grabbing Ryou's hand and pulls him out.
"No!" Necrafa roars when Tazma, Nick and the Trix fall out near her. "Stop them!"
"Don't worry my Queen, we will!" Tazma said as they chased after them.
Running to the griffins the 10 of them took off.
"Did you get the Codex?" Ryou asks.
"Right here." Arkayna smiles.
"Thank goodness, I couldn't another minute with that woman." Ryou said when Necrafa flew in.
"Uh looks like you might have to." Aisha points when Tazma leaps in and wrestles with Arkayna.
"Give me the Codex!" Tazma yells when Necrafa fires a red beam intending to hit Arkayna but she ended up blasting Tazma.
Using their bracers Em and Zarya blast Necrafa making her fall back.
When she recovered Necrafa looks to see Ryou looking back at her.
"This isn't over Ryou." Necrafa declares as they flew away.
Back at the Astromancers Base, the Mysticons and Seekers brought the Codex to them.
"You know I actually feel a little bad for Dreadbane, but thanks to him at least we have this." Arkayna said holding it up as the Codex floated towards Nova Terron.
"Excellent work Mysticons." Nova Terron said when he noticed the Dragon Disk was missing. "The Disk? Where is the Dragon Disk?"
"Tazma must've ripped it off in the fight." Ryou said.
"The disk was the key. Under a full moon it reveals the prophecy." Nova Terron said.
"You had one simple quest. Stop Tazma from getting the prophecy." An Astromancer said.
"Hey you try stealing from Necrafa and tell us if it's simple or not." Lucas said.
"Yeah what did you idiots do to help?" Aisha asks when Teien scolds her.
"You do not use that kind of language. But you she's right you are idiots." Teien said.
"Even so all we need is to stop the prophecy, right?" Zarya asks.
"Yeah we do that and no more doom." Zhalia said.
"Wait a minute…we just need a Dragon Disk. Then we already have one." Ryou realized causing them to gasp.
"He's right we do." Piper said.
"The disk we made." Em smiles.
"Well I'll be looks like our Tactician figured out a strategy for us after all." Nova Terron smiles looking at Ryou.
As Nova Terron and the Mysticons and Seekers held their prophecy up to the full moon they didn't know Tazma, Nick and the Trix were doing the same with Necrafa.
Up in the sky the light from the disks showed the prophecy to all of them.
"What does it say my Queen?" Tazma asks.
"Doom for our enemies and proof he is meant to come back to me." Necrafa states.
Little did they know from the portal using the line the Mysticons used to escape Dreadbane was able to climb out before falling to the ground free from his prison.
Up in the sky they translated what the prophecy read.
When the twin stars unite
The spectral beast will take flight
Its roars will herald a new dark age
From the chaos, the Dragon of Destruction will rise
And the Dragon's roar will purge the realm
