Sonic and Shadow were at home watching TV and relaxing.
Sonic is now thirty weeks pregnant and doing fine.
He only has eight weeks until he has the baby and they were excited.
Eggman had agreed to the truce until the baby was two months old.
He was leaning on Shadow with his eyes shut and Shadow had his arms around him smiling.
Suddenly Sonic felt his stomach tighten strong and winced.
Then he groaned a little and Shadow heard him.
"You alright?" he asked.
"Yeah, just a little tight."
Shadow nodded.
He had been looking after him since the day Sonic became pregnant.
Two hours later they were in bed and Sonic was having trouble sleeping.
His stomach had been getting tighter and more often all day.
Shadow had been keeping an eye on him all day but was fast asleep right now.
Then he groaned quietly with his hands on his stomach.
He knew he was going to be in labor soon.
When he fell asleep he knew he wasn't going to get much sleep.
The next day they were in the living room after lunch and watching a movie.
Sonic's stomach had been bothering him even more all day worrying Shadow.
Suddenly he felt the strongest pain yet.
"Ah!" he yelled.
"Sonic! You alright?" Shadow asked.
"No. My stomach really hurts."
Then he felt his pants get wet.
"Shadow, it's time!" he said and Shadow got up.
"Alright, let's go bring you to bed and then I'll call Tails." he said and Sonic nodded as Shadow picked him up and carried him.
When he was all set Shadow called Tails.
"Hello?" Tails said.
"It's time so twirl up those two tails and get over here!" he said.
"OK! Be there in a few. I already packed it all up."
"Good."
Then they hung up and Shadow waited.
"Twirl up those tails?" Sonic said and snickered.
"What? He uses his tails when something like this happens." he said and shrugged.
A few minutes later there was a knock on the window.
Shadow turned around and saw Tails smiling and waving his hand with his two tails twirling.
Then he opened the door and Tails flew in then stopped next to Sonic.
"OK, let's see what's going on." Tails said and opened his bag.
Then he took something out to see where Sonic was.
"Hmm, looks like you're at six. Have you been feeling any pain like this lately?"
"Yeah. All night last night." Sonic said and winced.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Shadow asked.
"You were tired and you had been helping me all day." he said and winced hard.
Shadow sighed and shook his head along with Tails.
"Let's just get this done. I don't know how long this will take but we'll see." Tails said.
They nodded.
"How long do you think this will take?" Shadow asked.
"I don't know. Each person is different."
He nodded and held Sonic's hand.
"Don't worry. I'll be with you the whole way." he said.
Sonic smiled then winced and squeezed his hand.
"Get ready for a broken hand Shadow." Tails said and laughed.
Two hours later Sonic was at seven.
He was moving for a second then winced and took a deep breath.
"Don't worry, you'll be done soon." Shadow said gently.
Sonic's eyes started to water and he fought tears.
"It hurts so much Shadow." he said.
"I know it does but you need to wait a little longer."
"Ahhh!" Sonic yelled and started to cry. "I just want to be done!"
"Shhh, I know you do but like I just said you need to wait a little longer." Shadow said and gave him a kiss. "I have a question for you."
"What is it?"
"Will you marry me?"
That shocked both Sonic and Tails.
"You're asking him to marry you in labor?" Tails said.
"Try and keep him busy."
"Yes. I'll marry you." Sonic said then winced.
Shadow smiled and gave him a kiss.
It had been six hours and he was ready.
"Push!" Tails said so Sonic pushed as hard as he could.
Then he took a deep breath.
"Push!" he said and again so he took a deep breath and pushed.
He squeezed Shadow's hand hard while he did that.
He was tired, sweating and hurt.
"I can see the head. Just one more." Tails said so he nodded. "Push!"
Then he squeezed Shadow hard and pushed as hard as he could.
Then they heard crying and smiled.
"There we go. It looks like we have a little girl." Tails said smiling and handed her to Sonic.
He was tired but still smiling holding her.
"Hello. I'm your mommy and this is daddy." he said.
"She looks just like you." Shadow said smiling.
"She does."
"What's her name?"
"Maria."
Shadow looked at him in shock.
"You'd name her after Maria?" he said and Sonic nodded.
He was getting tired after being in labor for six hours and not getting to much sleep the night before.
"Why don't you get some sleep?"
Sonic nodded and Shadow took Maria.
Then he was fast asleep.
Shadow smiled then looked at Maria.
"You look just like him. All you have from me right now is the eyes." he said.
Then she yawned and dosed off.
"She looks just like Sonic but the eyes." Tails said.
"I know. We wondered what she was gonna look like." Shadow said and put her in the crib they had in their room.
"Now the question is, will she have what you have or not?"
"We'll see."
Three hours later Sonic was up and the others were at their place.
"She's so small and cute!" Amy said.
"She really is. But you know she's early." Sonic said.
"She'll be fine Sonic." Tails said.
"I know, I'm just worried."
"Don't worry, she will be fine." Shadow said.
Sonic looked at him but nodded.
A few hours later they were all at home and Sonic and Shadow were asleep.
Shadow was going to take the night feeds because Sonic went through the pregnancy and labor.
