Ace's group soon arrived at the power plant known as The Core thanks to Havok's piloting skills on the X-Jet as Forge soon radioed in.
"If we can shut down this power plant, we'll take away Apocalypse's primary source of energy. But watch yourselves - Nuclear Reactors don't take kindly to a lot of rough stuff." Forge said.
"Right. So what's the plan, Forge?" Mari asked.
"Find a console that's hooked into the building-wide network and attach your transceiver to it." Forge said.
"And that's where you come in to hack the systems right?" Simon asked.
"Right. It'll let me see what we have to do to shut the reactors down." Forge said.
"Got it, leave it to us." Lei said.
The group made their way through the core interior as they soon found a console and attached the transceiver to it.
"You're good to go, Forge. The transceiver's attached." Mari said.
"Good job. Give me a second to look around." Forge said. "Okay, the good news is, we can permanently shut the core down. The bad news is, if we do it wrong, we wind up killing everyone in a ten-mile radius."
"Let's try to avoid doing that." Mari said.
"I agree. Find the reactor security area. It contains a console that'll let you drop the force field in the reactor area. Forge out." Forge said.
The group soon headed to core security and destroyed the control that powered the force field, therefore dropping it and allowing them access to the blue and yellow reactor areas as they soon went to lower the control rods and destroy the coolant pumps as the last thing left to do was find the primary power console and activate it, thereby fusing the rods and rendering the reactor useless. They then made their way to the core interior as they found a very strange male humanoid blocking their path. He had glowing red eyes, four arms with the upper ones holding an axe and hammer in its right and left hand respectively with his head as the main body.
"Who...or what the hell are you?" Saki asked.
"Your worst nightmare, kid. The name's Sugar Man, though I know you don't know… Ya know?"
"Is this guy Candyman's distant cousin or something?" Kagura asked.
"You can go and make all the jokes you want. But the thing about me is, I'm from an alternate future, one where Apocalypse took over the world. Ah, but then the X-Men had to go and ruin it all. Still I managed to escape to this timeline. And Apocalypse was willin' to take me in. I tell ya, that guy's as good as gold in any universe." Sugar Man said.
"How sickly. Do you really believe that?" Angelo asked.
"I wouldn't expect any of ya's to understand anyway. But, enough about me, chums. I gotta get busy and kill all ya's. Don't wanna go upsettin' the boss man, ya know? Apocalypse's got a real wicked temper… just like me. Hahahahaaaaa-!" Sugar Man said before one of Madama Butterfly's hands punched him straight in the face.
"My god, will you shut the hell up?" Simon said.
"How do you consider that future good? That future sounds like a living nightmare." Jessica said.
"Apocalypse is nothing more than a tyrant, not stopping until he conquers the planet and crushes it under his heel, now get out of the way...or this is gonna get ugly." Lei said. "We're shutting this place down."
"Just try it, I'll slaughter the whole lotta ya." Sugar Man said, charging towards them.
"Go, Ice Smash!" Koren said, as an orb of ice appeared on Sugar Man before bursting.
"Seraphic Thunder!" Ace called, switching Celestial Twilight to Batootha and launching it in its Orb form allowing it to rain bolts down.
"Summoning Hexas!" Belladonna said. A serpentine woman with four arms appeared as she waved her arms, calling down a raging lightning storm.
"I call upon Jormungandr!" Riesz said, as a serpent dragon with its body wrapped around a rock appeared and unleashed a green flaming breath.
"You posers are tougher than you look!" Sugar Man said before he fell flat on the back of his head.
"Now for the console." Mari said, activating the control console as multiple monitors and other control consoles soon blew up. "Alright!"
"That's the end of Apocalypse's power supply. Let's head back to camp and see if the others are back too." Ace said.
