The Super Avengers

The Super Avengers is my first attempt at a fanfiction, it's a Modern-ish Marvel focus-point, but putting it in a world with a lot of Disney's other stuff, and a lot of my own stuff. The plot deals with The Avengers having to escalate in a world with rising threats regular methods can't defeat. The age of quantity is over. The age of quality has begun.

11. Recruitment 12, Dark Dan

Candidate #12:

Hero Name: Dark Dan.

Real Name: Master Dark Dan.

Description: muscular, 6-foot-tall, Caucasian-man, with green eyes, and a big dark afro. Likes to wear black runners, black jeans, black T-shirts. He often has a black winter jacket, notepads to remember spells, dark sunglasses, and many swords. If he starts enjoying the fight he will happily fight with nothing more than swimming trunks.

Origin: He doesn't know at this point in the timeline (I do not like his casual use of "this timeline").

Citizenship: He is not a citizen of anywhere, and only appears a handful of times on handwritten records.

Powers: Intelligence 5, Strength 4, Speed 2, Durability 7, Negative Psionics 7, Dark Chaos Magic 6, Bloodlust Ki-Techniques 3, and Fighting Ability 6. Rare Trait, Martial Arts prodigy, abilities in melee are much higher than they appear.

Skills: Arcana 6, Business 6, Intimidation 7, Morale 6, Perception 6, Powers 5, Psionics 6, Social Media 3, Techniques 3, Trickery 4.

Ceiling Turrets: PASSED*, used some kind of Asgardian rune magic to cause an EMP but this caused a lot of collateral damage to the building.

Burning Building: PASSED*, spoke to the fire and asked it to come back after the test, building much easier to search but I didn't like staring at a ball of fire with an evil-Halloween face waiting to fall upon the building again.

Bank Hostages: walked in and demanded to be shot at… which confused the robbers, then suddenly they all seemed to be hit into a back wall as if a strong telekinesis was used, he said it wasn't telekinesis (angry Iron-Man sounds).

60 Second Spar: vs. Spider-Man, PASSED*, wanted to fight 6 Spider-People but only got to fight the original Spider-Man. Just walked up and punched Spider-Man in the face once. Spider-Man was worried his nose was broken and yielded, his Spider-Sense couldn't see the attack coming. Dark Dan told him after he can't become totally reliant on the Spider-Sense.

Red Flags: Just everything... but he's very serious about legally fighting bad guys for money and glory. Seems full of secrets but I'm not sure I want to know his dark truths.

Deployment: Probationary-Intern Avenger, more than powerful enough to be an Avenger but I want to keep him under heavy watch for now. Maybe Dr. Strange will vouch for him later, or have a heart attack.

Interview Highlight:

Jean Grey "Why can't I read your mind?"

Dark Dan "You don't want to. I was hoping Hulk would show up. He's a man shaped like a monster. I'm a monster shaped like a man. I had this speech planned with great metaphors."

Black Panther "Disconcerting, and why would The Avengers want another monster."

Dark Dan "You don't want me, you need me to deal with big problems. I'm very strong. I also have other abilities."

Iron Man "Hey gang, we'll give it 5 more minutes for Dark Dan to show up before we quit for the day."

Jean Grey "Tony, can you not see him standing right there?"

Iron Man "Who?"

Jean Grey "J.A.R.V.I.S., tell Tony there's a guy right in front of him."

J.A.R.V.I.S. "Sir, there's a man answering questions right now, I will play a recording for you."

Iron Man "Why are you showing me a video of an empty room?"

Jena Grey "Oh my god Tony."

Dark Dan gets annoyed and suddenly Iron Man can see Dark Dan.

Iron Man "Oh my god, there's a man here!"

Black Panther "Impressive."

Jean Grey "I thought you were an atheist."

Iron Man "I was."
