Jurassic World: Die Hard
Epilogue
Author's notes: This is it. The epilogue of the story.
Disclaimer: I don't own the Jurassic Park franchise, it's characters and such. They belong to their respective owners. However, I own the OC on it.
Anyway, read and review it. I hope you'll all enjoy it.
Hangar – Costa Rica
The next morning, at the hangar in Costa Rica, many survivors of the Jurassic World Siege are placed there as an evacuation center and emergency shelter. There was security around the area to prevent reporters from getting in.
Inside the hangar, a crowd people were inside it. A triage was set up there as well. Some injured were tended to by doctors, medics and volunteers from Red Cross and other organizations. Families in the hostages stood by together in relief. Barry, whose wounded arm was patched up, was looking around and called for a medic in both French and English.
At the center of the hangar, Karen and Scott looked around for their sons and Claire. They were both very anxious to see them and they haven't exactly slept all night and had a long flight to get to Costa Rica. While searching for them, Claire was sitting on one of the chairs while stroking Gray's hair, who was relaxing on her. Zach was sitting behind her. Claire had bandages and stitches on her face for the cuts and abrasions from Nolan's beating, as well the fight with Cullen. Her left hand was wrapped in bandages from a minor cut wound from glass during the fight with Cullen. She also has some scrape wound on her right shoulder. She also had a blanket on her. Zach has stitches on his left cheek from the hit from Chernov.
As Karen spotted her family, she let out a sob and she covered her mouth as she was feeling very emotional. Then she and Scott, who spotted his sons also, were coming over to them. Claire, as she kept her hand on Gray's hair, turned her head and saw Karen and Scott coming. She whispered to her nephews, "Boys, it's your parents. It's your parents." Zach and Gray saw their parents coming to them. As Gray slowly got up, Claire whispered to Zach, "Come on, come on." Both brothers came to their parents. The emotional Karen embraces Gray while Scott hugs Zach.
"Are you okay?" Karen asked in the emotional tone and Gray silently nodded. As Scott kissed Zach, Karen sobbed quietly as she embraced her youngest son.
Claire looked on, felling choked up and apprehensive. She was very nervous and was trying to keep herself from crying. After Karen kissed her youngest son, she saw her younger sister. The teary-eyed Karen came to Claire and they embraced. Claire then broke down and cried as she held Karen.
"I'm so sorry." Claire mumbled the word out loud as a tear came out of her left eye.
Karen shushed her and pulled away by inches. "Are you okay?" Karen asked while holding to Claire's shoulder. Then she noticed the bruises and stitches on Claire's face. Karen felt horrified when she saw Claire's battered face. "Oh, god. What happened to your face?" Karen asked with concern on her voice.
Claire sniffed out a little to composed herself and said in a low tone, "Don't worry about me. I'll be fine." Karen briefly looked Claire's face and acknowledged silently. Then she moved away from her. Claire, relieved to be reconciled with Karen, watched as she gently pulled Zach away from Scott and Gray and hugged him.
Claire, feeling more composed, focuses her eyes on Owen, who is tending to someone. Then she saw him speaking to the girl she recognized as the one who saw her father get killed in the Aviary. She knew that Owen was telling her that the man who shot her father is dead. After a moment, the girl's mother arrived and embraced her. As Claire watched his for the moment, she turned her face and saw Chelsea's husband reuniting with her and their daughters. She smiled upon seeing that. Chelsea, Mandy and Lily waved at Claire and she waved back at them. Then she turned her face back at Owen, who looks back at her.
Both Owen and Claire approached each other and stopped at the safe distance at the center of the hangar. As they looked at each other with longing expression on their faces, Owen noticed Claire's somber look and asked, "You're okay?"
Claire's breath hitched for a bit. Then she answered in a low tone, "Yes. I guess it's over and..." She let her voice trail off, unable to continue what to say.
Owen knew that Claire was processing everything she went through. "I know. It was...a harrowing time for us over there." Owen said in an understanding tone. Then he said in a low, serious tone. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you from what you endured in the control room and the lab." He felt bad for unable to prevent her capture when he and the others were in the wilderness with the raptors when the Indominus made them their alpha.
Judging by his tone, Claire can see that Owen felt guilty for failing to protect her from what Nolan and his goons had done to her when they captured her and her nephews. Wanting to reassure him, Claire replied to him, "Don't be sorry, Owen. You came for me and my nephews and you got us and a lot of people out. That's what matters."
Owen was silent for the moment. Then he said to her, "Not just me, Claire. It was you, Barry and everyone who helped. You helped me out a lot and I know all this was tough on you. But I couldn't stopped it without you."
Claire's snorted a little upon hearing that. She said in the low tone, "Thanks. And I could've gone through this without you." She felt appreciated that Owen gave her praise over everything she helped him through their ordeal on the island.
Owen silently nodded to her on that. Claire had a look of apprehension and doubt. She had tears that she was trying to hold back. After a moment of silence, she asked in a tone "So what do we do now?"
Owen looked at her in the eye. He said to her in a clear tone, "Probably stick together...for survival."
What Owen said put a smile on her Claire's battered face. After seeing her smile, he let out a small smile. Then he said to her, "Captain Davis and the others want to debrief us back in the Abraham Lincoln. Maybe after we speak the officials about the ordeal, we could go to the ship's galley."
After a moment, Claire replied in a low, but pleased tone, "Sure. That will be good." With that, Owen and Claire walked together as they were were leaving the hangar.
"One of the worst terrorist attacks in world history has ended since late night." One reporter said in the voice-over as Owen and Claire walked together out.
"Reports say that over 400 people died in the siege, including the ones on the island, the destroyed ferries and the destroyed." Another said in the voice-over.
Isla Nublar
Isla Nublar was in view in the Pacific Ocean as one reporter said in the voice-over, "Miraculously, over 20,000 people got out of Isla Nublar alive."
"Jurassic World has been declared closed down permanently due to the repercussions that resulted from the Jurassic World Siege." Another reporter said in voice-over as the camera zooms closer to the island.
As the camera moves closer to the island, another reporter stated in voice-over, "A number of InGen, Masrani Global, military and political officials were either found dead or have been arrested in their involvement in the conspiracy to illegally militarized dinosaurs that lead to the Jurassic World Siege."
The view of the abandoned control room building is shown as another reporter said in voice-over, "It is reported that Dr. Henry Wu has somehow eluded capture. A worldwide manhunt has been initiated on him."
The T-Rex was coming to the helipad of the control room as an reporter said in voice-over, "It was confirmed by Velociraptor trainer Owen Grady and former Jurassic World Operations Manager Claire Dearing that the mastermind responsible for Jurassic World Siege, Extinct All Dinosaurs leader Sean Nolan, is dead."
As the T-Rex was on top of the helipad, one reporter said in voice-over, "It was announced by the White House a hour ago that the President will personally award Owen Grady and Claire Dearing the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest decoration a civilian can received. Despite all efforts to contact them, Mr. Grady and Ms. Dearing remain unavailable for comment."
The T-Rex looks at her kingdom, now completely abandoned of humans and now only inhabited by dinosaurs. The T-Rex lets out a loud, triumphant roar, claiming the island as hers once again.
Author notes:
The ending of the story: The epilogue of this story is largely unchanged from the ending of Jurassic World. The changes and add-ons I did make on it was the part where Karen sees Claire's battered face and her reaction to it, Chelsea and her daughters reuniting with her husband, the Owen & Claire scene was expanded and the voice-over of the reporters reporting the aftermath of the the Jurassic World Siege. I hope that's a good way to end this story.
Anyway, please give a review of this story.
