What's up, guys?!
That's right! I'm back on this fanfic!
Sorry, it took literal months to update. I am taking my time to update each and every delayed fanfic before the year comes to an end. I don't know if I'll succeed in that, so let's see how that goes.
DISCLAIMER: I DON'T OWN ANY TV SHOW. CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY WE DO THIS DISCLAIMERS? LIKE SERIOUSLY, WHY?
Now on to the chapter!
Chapter 11: The Power of Ice
Another day began for Tatsumi and everyone else in the hideout. Once again, he was given the duty to cook for everyone else, however his mind couldn't help but recall everything that has happened just recently. Mine was dead, his best friend was some kind of a coma, and barely anyone had seen Acnologia since yesterday.
He found his feelings for Mine to be depressing, and quite ironic. Mine always had a prideful ego, and yet at certain moments she showed a genuine heart that was admirable. Whether it was the stroll through the Capital, or their missions together, Tatsumi couldn't lie. Her ambition and determination to see things through till the end was very admirable. Too bad she never got to witness her dream of a new country (A/N: At least to his knowledge)
He ended his train of thoughts and looked over his shoulder. Akame sat across the table while staring at Sheele as she ate some veggies. But it was increasingly getting awkward for the latter.
"Uh…Akame, not to sound rude, but…you're staring so intensively." Sheele smiled sheepishly.
Akame blinked and sat straight. Her face expression showed genuine concern.
"Apologies. I was just making sure that you are okay." She replied.
Sheele smiled. "Right…"
Tatsumi was amazed by them. Neither of them seemed to be weighed down by Mine's death. In fact, they were carrying on with their day, almost like nothing had happened.
'I've come to realize…just how heartbreaking this line of work can be.' He thought.
Back in Sayo's room, the Dragon God, Acnologia, stared down on Sayo's comatose body. Magic was still emitting from her body. It was kind of dazzling to the dragon slayer's eyes. They were healing her body in a gradual pace. No doubt, she'll wake up once the repairs were done.
His mind went back to his conversation with Irene. The enchantress's words confirmed his suspicion. An old friend of his had returned from the grave, which was a bit upsetting.
'Ever since I chose the path I did, there was only one regret I had…' He paused and caressed his finger through Sayo's black hair. 'So…it really is you, Lara. I wonder how you'll feel if I told you how I almost killed your daughter…I'm a terrible person. I know.'
Then his mind flashed back to Wendy Marvell, and the many things that he had done to her.
'That girl…Just who was her father?' He wondered.
Just then, he was jerked out of his thoughts when he heard the door. Someone was about to come inside the room. He could've stayed and seen whom it was, but he had another idea. He blended into the shadows and observed what would happen next.
"Uh…hey, Sayo…"
Tatsumi sighed when he saw her comatose body. He stared depressingly at her for a moment, and closed the door behind her.
"I really need the prep talk…Lately, I've had a lot going on in my head, and…" He paused as he sat on a chair next to her. "What am I saying? It's not like you can hear me."
After a few minutes, he spoke again.
"You probably didn't know this, but…you were really amazing out there. You were so fast…and strong. You were basically on a whole new league…If only Ieyasu was around to see it, he would've been so surprised."
He chuckled for a few seconds before the frown returned. He rubbed the back of his head.
"I think I should be honest with you…I feel like I'm slacking behind in this line of work. Crazy, I know, but that's how I've felt lately. You probably know this already…Mine was killed by the empire. Sure, she was a bossy midget, but she was still a good person in her own way…A part of me really wish I could've see more of her."
He sighed. "Anyway…I really want to be like the others right now. You should've seen Akame and Sheele…Both of them have moved on like actual pros. Meanwhile, I keep feeling this weight on my shoulder…Mine wouldn't be happy if she saw me like this. She'll probably call me a newbie, and tell me just how much I suck…Is it weird I miss that?"
Acnologia continued his observation. He could sense the conflict coming from Tatsumi. It was understandable due to his lack of experience. Sayo would've felt the same way too. So after a few seconds, the teen rose from his seat and smiled weakly at Sayo.
"Try and get better, Sayo. Just like you, I'm gonna try my best."
With that, he walked out of the room, completely unaware of the blue eyes that has been watching him.
The Dragon God emerged from the shadows and stared at the door. He turned his gaze onto Sayo, and heard her sleepily mutter something.
"Tatsumi…"
"You're worried about him." Acnologia muttered. "Very well. I will see what I can do."
The empire conducted countless torture and brutal deaths on anyone who dared to oppose the empire. Most of the time, these people were the innocents who were trying to make a living for themselves.
But none of that mattered to the empire. In the Capital, they even had a whole building dedicated to the brutal torture and killing of the innocents. One of such places was a favorite for Esdeath.
But today was a bit sad for her. Though she had visited the facility many times, today would be her last. A new goal had crossed her heart, so she only visited to say her goodbyes. Acnologia's defeat had exposed to her just how weak the empire was.
Of course, she'll miss everything. The empire had granted her many privileges that has been unseen before. But she was going to stick with her philosophy. The strong must crush the weak. There was no other way but servitude.
"If you lower the temperature a bit, you can prolong their suffering a bit." She said, stretching her arm to a giant cauldron.
The giant cauldron functioned much like a boiler to torture and kill the innocents who were unfortunate to be taken in there. Their screams were loud and horrific, as their naked bodies burnt severely before their lives ended. It was a cruel way to die.
Esdeath didn't see it that way. She saw their act of torture as poorly done. So she made an example by freezing the cauldron. The muscular and ugly men in charge immediately bowed to her, thanking her for the lesson.
She snubbed them and turned away. "Think of this as a parting lesson from me to you. That will be all."
She walked away from the scene while seeing nothing wrong with the tactics adopted by the empire. If anything, she was going to miss having this much privileges.
"That's Esdeath-sama for you…A true sadist." said of the torturers, blushing as he watched her leave.
"Yeah…She's a sadist in heart and soul." Agreed his companion, also blushing.
Another of them interjected. "I heard how she cruelly executed the royal family of the Northern Tribes by playing with the princely hero's heart. She basically had him like a dog."
"Wow."
"Incredible."
"Now that's a woman who you can't reckon with." He added.
Esdeath heard them well, even with the far distance between them. A constant and brutal training tends to make that happen.
But she wasn't happy or proud in the very least. If anything, she was holding back from destroying the whole building. She could tell from their conversation that they hadn't heard about the failure in the Northern Tribes. Obviously, the empire was keeping hush about it to save face. But that only made them weaker in her own eyes.
Upon getting outside the building, she looked over to the direction of the Imperial Palace. The huge structures were impossible to miss. She was supposed to have an audience with the emperor and the prime minister.
'None of that matters now…'
She paused and had a flashback to her defeat at the hands of Acnologia. The Dragon God was immensely powerful. Esdeath already knew that he had been holding back on her. A powerful man like him could easily level down the Capital in a blink of an eye.
That's why she was growing fond of him. She always served whoever was the strongest. She was never the type that wanted absolute power. It would've gotten in the way of her inhumane interests.
Esdeath was no fool. Though she had been cocky against the former dragon king, she knew absolute power when she saw it. The empire was already strong without her. There were men like General Budo who made sure of that. But she knew better than anyone. Acnologia was the strongest being in the world.
And so she walked away, not to the Imperial Palace, but to leave the Capital. If she had given herself some time to think, she wouldn't have left the Northern Tribes. After all, the only one who would know about Acnologia's whereabouts would be the little princess that he protected.
At the east of the empire, a battalion of one thousand soldiers was dispatched to contain the situation in town, north of the Capital. The towns' guards witnessed the huge numbers approaching their walls. They were about a thousand of them, with each man sent to make a lesson out of the townspeople.
Fortunately, the town had a great protector, who was also partly to blame for the mess the townspeople were in.
Now clad in just her feminine underwear despite the winter wind, the master of Gray Fullbuster, Ur, leapt into action, literally.
Only a few soldiers caught sight of her, and even then it was just her silhouette. When she landed in front of them, they came to a halt. The ground tremored for a moment before it passed away.
The frontline's sudden halt caused a bit of a ruckus. Soldiers behind them bumped into each other and began to complain. The commander, seated on his horse, was also annoyed by the sudden interruption.
"What is the meaning of this?! Do they know that we're on a scheduled military campaign!?" He barked.
The forty-something year old commander heard the mumblings around him. They mentioned something about a woman in just her underwear standing in front of them. Just that alone aroused the commander by a little bit. His perverted face showed itself, and he demanded for his binoculars.
With it, he laid eyes on Ur's body and almost drooled upon making eye contact.
"Oh? Has the townspeople decided to send one of their own as a…sacrifice?" He licked his lips. "Not bad. But…I would've expected like a hundred of their sexiest to be here. Not that it would matter."
His perversion was shared amongst his men. Ur was a sexy beauty despite being a mother in her original world. She had the sexy curves and the breast cleavage to prove it. But if the men had paid more attention, they would've noted the cracked earth underneath her feet. So only the men in front were a bit wary of her.
"Hey! Listen up!" Ur yelled, catching their attention. "I know you the empire sent you here! You were told about a rebellion being staged here! But that isn't true! The town's lord lied to the prime minister! You do not have to invade! So if you have any humanity in you, I urge you all to return to the Capital! The people here simply wish to live in peace!"
There was a brief silence as her words sunk in. Ur hoped for the better, but she was immediately proven wrong. The men immediately erupted into laughter, which only aggrieved her.
The laughter ended, and the commander snickered.
"Bring her to me. I wish to see her up close." He ordered. "Oh, and tell the men to keep their hands off her. Once I am done with her, they can have their turns. I promise."
His order were relayed to Ur, who complied despite the perverted stares she was getting. A path was made just for her to go through. But the walk to the commander annoyed her a lot. The soldiers' eyes on her butt and chest were so obvious to the woman. But she held back, for the sake of the townspeople.
"You are the commander." She addressed him while hiding much of her disgust.
The commander was a muscular man, with brown facial hair. The horse he sat on was covered in armor. He had a perverted grin on his face as he motioned her to come to him.
"Yes, I am. Please come closer." He said.
"This is fine." Ur refused strictly. "You can hear me from here."
He chuckled and motioned his hand to his soldiers. The two soldiers behind her pushed her, causing her to stumble a bit. By the time she regained herself, the commander's hand closed in on her chest. Then he groped it.
"You have nice knockers here." He said with a perverted grin. "Here's the deal. I may reconsider what you said if…you will spend the time with me. Being in the military can be so lonely. I am quite backed up, if you know what I mean."
"I see…"
Ur's anger intensified. A visible vein showed itself on her face. But the commander didn't seem fazed her by obvious frustration. He just kept chuckling while fondling her breast.
At last, Ur couldn't take this insult anymore. If the commander was going to play that way, then she was going to make him regret it. So she smiled widely, hiding any aggression she had towards him.
"I can do that." She said.
A huge cheer went across the battalion. The commander chuckled before he came down from his horse. He removed the lower part of his armor, and was about to pull down his underwear when Ur got closer to him seductively.
"Allow me."
She reached to his groin and grabbed it. A great sensation went across his body, but then he noticed something wrong. It wasn't the sensation of pleasure, but rather a deeply cold sensation.
Ur had actually frozen his groin. When that got to him, he released an bitter cry and stepped away from her awkwardly. The soldiers were shocked. None of them had expected her to control ice. It was reminded them off a certain general.
"You've really done it now…" Ur's fake smile dropped. A scowl took over as she balled her fists. "All you had to do was back away. But your perverted ass just couldn't take it. Worse of all, you allowed me to touch that disgusting thing of yours…"
The commander could only utter. The shock and pain wouldn't allow him to utter anything else. His feet were already staggering. Ur decided right there to put him out of his misery. So she raised her right foot and kicked the man right in the chin. His body was sent flying into the air, with the neck broken due to the kick.
"TAKE RESPONSIBILITY IN HELL!" Ur cried out.
Every soldier was flabbergasted as they watched their leader's corpse fly across them. The reality soon set in on them, though. Anger took over, and that alone turned to rage. There were no longer bewitched by Ur's sexiness. They wanted blood now.
"You bitch!" cried one soldier.
"Die!" yelled another.
All soldiers front and surrounding her were now on her case. Swords and guns were drawn, with several of them already charging straight for her. Ur could see and sense their movements, before acting on her own accord.
Her speed was beyond the average human. She punched several men in the face, even the ones wearing helmets, without flinching, and kicked several that tried to come from her sides and behind.
A lot of their bodies were sent flying. Ur surprised a few of them when she would grab their swords and either break it with her bare hands or deflect their swings in such a way that the men would cut and kill themselves instead.
Then Ur grabbed one soldier whom she dodged by moving aside. The man's gun was knocked out of his hand before she grabbed his chestplate and spun him around.
He became her weapon, as well as her shield. More soldiers were knocked to the ground, with many of them dying on impact. Others tried shooting at her, but she used his body to protect herself.
The man died from the many gunshots he received. Ur was done with him once she threw him into a group of gunmen. Another soldier tried to sneak up behind her with his sword. He would've gotten his way, but Ur ended his approach. All she did was smash the back of her fist into his face without looking back.
"M-Monster!" cried out soldier. His eyes were wide. He and his comrades saw the pile of bodies surroundings her. "She's a fucking monster!"
His life came to an end when Ur leapt and smash her knee into his face. As she landed on the ground, the men around her shriek and stepped back. The cold eyes she casted on them sent shivers down their spines.
"D-Don't be deterred!" encouraged one soldier. "She's just one human being! Imagine the reward we'll get when we kill her!"
"He's right…" gulped one soldier. He nodded nervously.
"You think so huh?" Ur questioned.
Foggy ice emitted from her hands. In a blink of an eye, that soldier who encouraged his comrades was dead. His head was sent flying, with blood splattering on the earth and on a few of his comrades.
"Ice make: Draggers!" Ur called out.
In both of her hands were two daggers made of ice. As some of the soldiers were utterly speechless in shock, she took more of their lives. No one could follow her speed. The scared soldiers could only watch as a blur cut through their comrades, causing their blood to shoot everywhere as their dying cries ran through the air.
"I…I don't want to die!" yelled one soldier. He caught a silhouette of Ur and began shooting. "Die! Die! Fucking die!"
Tears were running down his face. He really was scared for his life. But it didn't matter in the slightest. Ur approached him with no bullet holes and curved her dragger right through his chest and face.
"You first." She said.
A group of soldiers became desperate and began firing upon her. Ur reacted by tossing one of her ice daggers into one of them. It cut into the man's chest while she closed the gap between them and killed another with a swift move of her icy weapon.
She ended the bloodbath by stamping her ice dagger into another soldier's skull. But of course, that was just for the group of gunmen. There was still a few hundreds to deal with.
More soldiers became desperate. Fear prevented them from running away, because even they knew that fleeing the scene would just attract Ur's attention. She was the boogeyman to them.
So more bullets were sent her way. But Ur was unaffected, unlike them. Their comrades were cut down as she weaved through them with relative ease.
"Stop! Stop! We're killing each –"
That soldier died as he was killed by his own comrades. But his voice managed to reach the others, who were then left in shock at the carnage they caused. More bloody corpses lay on the battlefield, with Ur standing in the middle.
"I think these are yours!" Ur said and swung her arms.
Through her fingers, she shot the bullets she had caught and sent them back to them. The bullets were encased in ice, thus they tore through the soldiers and killed more men that were behind them.
"S-Spare me!"
"I don't wanna die!"
"Someone…save me!"
"She's slaughtering us like lambs!"
"Don't kill me!"
These men were now petrified with fear. Ur ALMOST pitied them. But she knew just how dangerous they were. She even scoffed at their selfishness. They weren't even considering their comrades.
"I gave you guys the chance to leave! But you didn't listen!" Ur barked. "You allowed your own disgusting sexual desire to get the better of you! And now you ask for mercy?!"
Deep down she was unhappy with what she was doing. But she was furious now. Their cowardice brought her to this point, where she then slammed her hands on the ground and summoned more of her magic.
"At least die with honor!" She cried. "ICE MAKE: WAR MOUNTAIN!"
Just like the name suggested, Ur created an actual mountain made out of ice. The ice spread across five miles, and reached the height of twenty feet. Any soldier caught in its path were frozen in an instant. Barely a hundred were able to survive, and that was because they were out of the attack's range.
"RUN! RUN!"
"FUCK THIS! I'M LEAVING!"
"THE TOWN! WE CAN SAVE OURSELVES THERE!"
Ur's eyes widened. The town's giant gates were closed, but she couldn't take any chances. She went this far just to protect the innocents that were hiding behind those walls. So there was no other way around this.
So she shot out of the carnage she created and seemingly hovered above the fleeing soldiers. They were still far from the town, which gave her the opportunity for a last devastating attack.
She held both hands together, leaving a gap present, and summoned more of her ice magic.
"MAY THE HEAVENS BRING CRUEL JUDGEMENT ON YOUR SOULS!" Ur cried out, attracting their attention. "ICE MAKE: GOD EXCALIBUR!"
A huge shadow casted on the men. Some of them scattered while others were too pertrified to do anything.
Their reaction didn't matter now. Ur's god Excalibur's size was twenty feet long and fifteen meters wide. In a way, it looked like god was delivering a harsh judgment upon mankind.
Once the sword made contact, it didn't matter if the soldiers were in the way or not. They were killed by it directly or indirectly. A massive shockwave swept across the field, causing a major disaster.
The shockwave killed many of them, and caused an avalanche-like incident which shot and gulped more soldiers. They died either on impact with the ground or were swallowed by the harsh snow.
By the time it was over, there wasn't a single soldier left alive.
"Amazing…"
The town's captain stuttered as he and his subordinates witnessed everything unfold.
"Just…Just who is that woman?" asked one guard.
The captain smiled. "A hero. That's who she is."
Ur was back on the ground, with her back facing them heroically.
Esdeath rode on a dragon-type Danger Beast, while heading to the Northern Tribes. She had only one goal in mind, and that was to find Acnologia. The empire was too weak for her to continue her servitude.
"Are you really going ahead with this?"
Esdeath heard and stomped her foot on her winged beast. It came to a stop, and she looked over her shoulder and laid eyes on a red-haired woman in a skimpy black outfit, large chest, and a big hat, floating in the air with a staff in her hand.
"And you are?' She asked intimidatingly.
The red-haired was none other than Irene Belserion.
"Quite disrespectful." Irene paused. She studied Esdeath face and shrugged. "I assumed you've heard. I, Princess Irene of the empire, have returned."
"Ah yes, I heard about that lie."
"What?"
"Spare me the antics." Esdeath rolled her eyes. "Do you take me for a fool? I know a lie when I see one. The previous emperor may've had siblings, but they all died during the power struggle. But then I return and hear that, that fact never existed, even though confidential imperial records prove otherwise."
"They could've been lies. Did you think of that?"
"I did. But do you want to know what's funny?" Esdeath asked rhetorically. "I look back at those records, only to then find your name and everything about you has replaced those previous facts…almost like it was done by magic."
"Oh?" A grin appeared on Irene's face. "Aren't you the smart one?"
The enchantress was impressed. Only strong-willed individuals could see through her memory enchantment. Even the likes of General Budo was deceived due to the magic. No doubt, Esdeath was on a whole new level.
"So who are you really?" Esdeath asked, demanding an answer.
"Just a somebody." Irene answered. "If I recall, you had a run-in with a certain dragon while you were in the Northern Tribes. Your forces were almost annihilated, and your pride has never been the same, as a result."
The ice general hid her shock well. She only narrowed her eyes suspiciously on the enchantress.
"No one in the Capital seems to be aware of this. I assumed the empire was hiding it, but…is it possible you had a hand in it?"
"I did."
"And you know about Acnologia?"
Irene laughed. "Know about him? I'm the reason he exists."
Esdeath's eyes twitched. She was surprised by Irene's revelation. If Irene's words were true, then a lot of things made sense. No one could pave her way into the empire like the enchantress did unless she had the power to do it.
"Sadly, I do not speak on the details with traitors." Irene added.
Before Esdeath knew, the atmosphere around her chest suddenly ignited into a red explosion. She was sent flying off her Danger Beast, and supposedly crashing to the ground. Her Danger Beast flew off.
Irene wasn't done, however. She flew and slammed her staff right down on the exact spot. As such, a shockwave happened and tore the ground apart within a mile's radius, destroying anything in its way.
The dust cloud began to clear up when the enchantress noticed something. Esdeath wasn't there. Then she noticed someone 'flying' straight at her from the corner of her eye.
"Pathetic." She commented cockily.
The enchantress attempted to stab her staff into Esdeath. But she was taken aback when she instead stabbed an ice sculpture of Esdeath. She barely looked the other way, before Esdeath came and kicked her right in the stomach. The impact sent her flying several feet back.
'Nice move. But not enough.' She thought and chuckled.
The enchantress did a backflip and skidded back. Then she stabbed her staff into the ground, causing all the upturned trees to enchant into giant snakes. All of them flew straight for Esdeath with their menacing large mouths open.
"I was almost impressed. Almost." Esdeath emphasized.
The ice general snapped her fingers, causing all the snakes to turn into ice. She would've gloated about it, but her instincts picked up. She looked up, barely just in time to stop Irene, who came down on her with her staff.
"Hmph!" Esdeath humored. She held the enchantress's staff with both hands on the sides. "Come now, can't you give me a better fight?"
"Oh, don't mind me. I'm simply testing your strength." Irene smug.
"Very well. Don't disappoint me, though."
"Believe me, I wouldn't dream of it."
Both women could feel their adrenaline rushing through their veins. When Irene pushed herself back and landed on her feet, she locked eyes with the ice general and widened her smirk. From there, both women charge at each other and clashed with one another.
Esdeath, with her sword, and Irene, with her staff, caused a shockwave which rocked the earth under their feet. They fought against each other with their weapons, trying very much to overpower each other.
Irene managed to land a kick against Esdeath's stomach, causing her to skid back. But it had no real effect by Esdeath, except giving her an opportunity. The ice general swung her sword in the air, thus sending ice slashes straight for Irene.
Irene simply huffed with a cocky smile and pushed her arm forward. Within a blink of an eye, the slashes turned into birds which flew away from the scene. She then widened her open hand and shot four huge red beams at Esdeath.
Esdeath leaped back and avoided the first beam. It exploded on the ground she once stood on. She then made a turn and jumped away against, causing that beam to also explode on impact with the ground.
The third and fourth beam were a bit tricky. The former maintained its trajectory while the latter split from its partner and did a U-turn for Esdeath's back. Esdeath never dropped her guard for a second when this happened. She waited her time.
Both beams from the back and front. Esdeath anticipated their arrival, and jumped out of the way when they were close enough. As such, the beams collision with each other caused an explosion and a shockwave which shot her higher into the air.
Esdeath's plan had worked perfectly. Despite flying uncontrollably in the air, she intended for this to happen, hence she regained her composure in the air and created an ice long bow and arrow.
"Is she planning to shoot an ice arrow at me?" Irene wondered and shook her head. "No, she's planning something."
Esdeath unleashed her long ice arrow at the enchantress. Irene responded by raising her staff. She wanted to play along with Esdeath's idea, thus she acted like she was going to stop the attack.
Her eyes widens a tiny bit. The arrow was growing in size. Irene had to fly backwards before it could hit her with half the size of a skyscraper. But it soon became apparent that Esdeath had taken that into account too.
The ice arrow stabbed into the ground and unleashed a freezing effect across the landscape. Irene was affected once her feet touched the ground. Half her legs were encased in ice.
"Now feel my wrath!" Esdeath stated proudly. "RAINING GLACIERS!"
She made three huge ice beams to shoot out from the clouds. Irene was only able to watch them before all three of them slammed down on her, creating several large ice shards that sized up to twenty feet.
Esdeath landed right in front of it within seconds. When she lay eyes on her creations, she witnessed Irene's body frozen in the ice. The enchantress's grin still remained, despite her predicament.
Silence took over before the ice exploded into tiny pieces. Irene stood comfortable once again, and dusted her hat.
"I was almost worried." Esdeath said. "I almost thought I ended the battle a bit too soon."
"Sorry about that." Irene replied and wore her hat again. "I wanted to see your reaction. Perhaps your battle against the arcane dragon taught you a few lessons. So allow me to impart a lesson to you too."
With that, she struck her staff on the ground. Suddenly, the icy grounds were enchanted into lava. Esdeath was a bit taken aback, but leaped back just in time.
Irene followed up by firing another round of energy beams. With Esdeath in the air, it would be impossible for her to avoid all of them, especially when the ground was literally lava. However, the ice general was known for defying the odds.
With one motion of her hand, she created a hovering ice platform above the lava and landed on it with both feet. She, however, had to jump off it when one of the energy beams came for her, and thus continued to make more hovering ice platform as a way to jump, backflip and cartwheel her way from the incoming attacks.
The energy beams reconvened behind Esdeath. This time, they formed into a bigger and stronger energy beam, which then flew straight for her.
Esdeath welcomed it by pointing her sword at it. An accumulation of ice particles suddenly surrounded the tip and formed into a bigger and stronger ice ball. She then launched it straight at the incoming energy beam, resulting in a powerful collision.
An incredible shockwave swept the landscape, shooting lava everywhere as a blinding light came from the source. Tiny ice shards flew across the air and evaporated while the ice general was nowhere to be seen.
Irene raised her hand to shield her face. Despite what happened, she hovered in the air with a nearly unfazed body. She just possessed an intrigued smirk on her face.
"What's your objective?" asked a familiar voice.
"Hmm?" Irene locked eyes on her.
Esdeath headed towards her with her sword stretched by her side. Each step she made, she would create an ice platform before her heels could touch it. This way she won't fall into the lava below her.
"You heard me. What's your objective?"
Irene chuckled. "Tell you what? Beat me, and I'll tell you everything."
"Really?" Esdeath asked, sounding interested. "You'd be advised not to look down on me."
"Oh trust me. I won't." With that, the enchantress stretched her right arm. "Disappear."
A ball of red energy engulfed her hand. Suddenly, the atmosphere around the entire landscape sparkled with red lights before being engulfed in a giant explosive red ball.
Constant explosions and the lava resulted in the skies being covered by pitch-black smoke. Irene was still okay, despite the damage she caused. The earth had opened up more lava, to the point whereby the heat would melt the average human being without even touching it.
Irene wasn't concerned about that. She looked around for Esdeath, and locked eyes on the ice general eyes. Esdeath emerged from the smoke on her dragon-like Danger Beast, and flew straight for her.
Esdeath sent another round ice slashes from her quick swings of her sword. Irene was unfazed, and even stretched her arm towards them. This time, Esdeath's attacks were enchanted into tiny bubbles.
Esdeath saw an opportunity, and closed the gap between them. Her Danger Beast almost took a huge bite out of Irene if it weren't for the enchantress flying out of the way in time.
"Wonderful beast you have there, Esdeath." She said as she saw the beast and its mistress fly pass her. "It would be a shame if someone…enchanted it against you."
The beast's eyes became entirely red, as it fell under Irene's control. Esdeath was thrown off its head after it shook her off. The Danger Beast then made a dive towards her with its mouth wide open.
Esdeath grabbed both up and down side of its mouth. She wasn't about to allow her pet to eat her. Rather, she froze its entire body in one go and hurled the frozen creature straight at Irene. The enchantress flew aside, thus avoiding it.
Esdeath anticipated this, and revealed her true intention. The frozen beast exploded into tiny ice shards, before firing straight at Irene like bullets. Irene turned and narrowly blocked all of them by swinging her staff in a circle. But this was only to buy time for Esdeath.
A long ice pole nearly collided with her. Fortunately, she moved aside before it could actually do damage. But then the pole shattered, and Esdeath came right out of it, only to then swing a strong kick at Irene's face.
The enchantress was mostly unaffected, and grabbed Esdeath's ankle. The ice general hadn't planned this part. Clearly, Irene's durability wasn't to be underestimate.
Before she knew it, Irene threw her against a mountain's side. A loud grunt escaped her mouth, as her back made impact with the rocky texture. But there wasn't any time to recover. Irene came towards her like a comet, and rammed her through the entire mountain. Esdeath crashed landed on a grassland, where the enchantress then snapped her fingers, causing that entire landscape to explode.
"I wonder if I overdid it?" Irene muttered.
She smiled again when the dust cloud dissipated. Esdeath was back on her feet, and stood with her whole body in an armor made entirely of ice.
"Judging from your face, did you think that weak attack took me?" Esdeath inquired.
'So this is Esdeath's thirst for battle.' Irene thought.
"I've only just started!" Esdeath proclaimed strongly.
She raised her hands, which caused large ice spikes to rise from the ground. They were in the hundreds, before all of them were sent flying towards Irene.
The enchantress remained in the air. A number of enchantment went through her mind in that short time she had to react. So she made her choice by waving her staff at the ice spikes. In mere seconds, they were chanted into clouds.
Esdeath surprised her a bit by bursting right through the enchanted clouds. An ice-made sword was in her hand when she swung it for Irene's neck.
'Too slow.' Irene thought.
She swung her leg and kicked Esdeath at the face. But then her eyes widened, and she gasped a bit. She hadn't kicked Esdeath, but instead, it was her armor.
'If that wasn't her, then where –' Irene stopped thinking and looked up.
Esdeath came down with a spin kick. It made contact with the back of the enchantress's neck, and knocked her off a bit. Esdeath followed that by creating an ice platform for her right leg, which then allowed her to do a front kick at Irene's face.
The beating continued when Esdeath caught her ankle before the enchantress's body was flown away. The ice general then tossed her aside and summoned an ice long bow and arrow. Irene's body was now hurtling towards the ground. As another attack, Esdeath shot her long arrow and managed to get a direct hit on Irene's chest.
The enchantress screamed before crashing onto the ground. But in the mere seconds before that, she stopped and smirked devilishly. This hit had barely fazed her.
Esdeath might've sensed this, because she then went to the extreme. She made more ice platforms, and stood hundreds of feet above Irene's crashed site. Then she snapped her fingers and jumped back. A large pillar of ice crashing down on Irene.
"Come on! Don't bore me already, 'Princess' Irene!" Esdeath laughed.
Irene huffed and surprised the ice general. The ice pillar actually hadn't crashed on the enchantress. Instead, the thirty foot tall structure was being held by the woman's one hand.
"Don't tell me this is everything, Esdeath?" She mocked.
Esdeath's eyes widened before her smile widened. Irene shattered the ice pillar into tiny pieces with just a twitch of her fingers. But the battle wasn't over yet. Irene was taken by surprise when a huge blizzard suddenly engulfed the entire landscape, including her.
'So, she can create a blizzard as well. Impressive.' She thought.
The enchantress sensed an attack and retrieved her staff by magic. She then shot an invisible force against a blast of snowy wind coming her way. She had to focus on her surroundings more, as Esdeath, though unseen, began sending ice pillars and shards from every direction.
Irene dodged them all with relative ease. She jumped, flew, and even ducked just to evade them. But then blizzard intensified, and before Irene knew it, she was launched into the air by a snow tornado.
The enchantress's body spun uncontrollably in the air for a few seconds before she regained control. She looked around her and realized something. She was now surrounded by hundreds of huge ice shards from all directions.
'Clever girl.' She thought.
And just like that, Irene was shot from all sides.
Back the ground, Esdeath breathed a sigh of relief. The blizzard calmed down, just enough for her to see the result of her attack.
There was no sign of Irene.
As much as Esdeath enjoyed this battle, she was beginning to feel fatigue. But she pushed that aside. Her thrill for an intense battle such as this one was keeping her going. If possible, she'll keep fighting until either one of them was dead, though she was hopeful of being the winner.
Suddenly, her killer instincts snapped, and she turned and swung her sword to her backside. Irene responded in the same way with her staff. Somehow the enchantress had gotten behind her, which both surprised and excited Esdeath. Now the both of them had their weapons pointed at each other's neck.
"What now?" Esdeath asked, showing a toothy grin.
"I don't know. You tell me." Irene said, matching her look.
Both of them kept glaring into each other. The seconds continued to pass by as they waited for the other person to respond. But there was no indication on it. So it came as no shock when they suddenly burst into a moment's laughter, and withdrew their weapons.
"You're exactly what I need, Esdeath." Irene said.
"So this was really a test. I figured as much." Esdeath replied and placed her hands on her hips.
Irene chuckled and tapped her staff's bottom on the ground. Suddenly, a burst of enchantment magic spread across the entire landscape and more and reverted everything back to the way it was. Even Esdeath's blizzard was cleared up.
Irene studied her face for a few seconds. Esdeath didn't seem a bit fazed by it. The ice general looked around and just appeared impressed by the result. Then it dawned on the enchantress's mind. The ice general knew that she has been holding back all this time.
"So, I assume your comment earlier about me being a traitor was a lie." Esdeath said.
"Depends on your response." Irene replied.
"Then enlighten me." Esdeath sheathed her sword and crossed her arms under her chest.
"All I ask is for your continued servitude to the empire, except you'll secretly be under my command." Irene revealed. "Your power is quite enough for my plans to come into fruition."
"Really? I would've thought a woman like yourself would've found someone else."
"Believe me, I tried." Irene said, and sounded disappointed. "I knew a powerful man whom I then extended this offer. He was quite powerful. Even stronger than you, I'll say. But his arrogance was too much for his good, and he got killed by Acnologia."
"You sound disappointed. Some men can be like that, unless trained."
"Quite." Irene nodded. "But he's in the past. Dead and gone. That's why I demand your absolute loyalty, if you agree to join my cause."
"And your cause is?"
"To take this world by the horns and bend it to my absolute will." Irene grinned and balled her fist at Esdeath.
"You say that, and yet…I sense you could've done it already by yourself." Esdeath paused and widened her sly smile. "Not many can walk into the Imperial Palace and pretend to be a lost princess of the empire."
"You and I both know why I do this."
"Of course. It's Acnologia, isn't it?" She asked and snubbed her. "Pathetic. If you can't match up to him, doesn't that make you weak as well? I only serve the strong."
"I am quite aware of your ideology, Esdeath. I can assure you that this will remain at the end."
"Excuse me?" Esdeath raised a skeptic eyebrow.
"You served the empire while a dragon like Acnologia walked the earth. And now that you've met him, don't you think there's someone who can rival and surpass his power."
"If such a person does exist, then I shall serve him or her with all my might."
"Good, because you have met her."
Esdeath's eyes widened before she burst into a laugh. Irene was unfazed by it, and even remained composed when she stopped.
"You're actually serious?" Esdeath asked. "I respect your power, but in the eyes of Acnologia, we're weak."
"For now, yes. But you seem to forget what I told you in the beginning. Acnologia wouldn't have exist if it weren't for me. I'm the only one who knows how to defeat the Dragon God for good."
"Oh really?" Esdeath questioned. She still seemed skeptic. "Then why haven't you exploited it?"
"Because I need time. And that's where you come in, my dear."
"Explain."
"Join me and I'll give you greater battles unlike anything you could've imagined. This is a better offer than going to a dragon who denied you a quick death."
Esdeath frowned for a bit. Her mind recalled the last words Acnologia had told her.
"Get your life in order."
She smirked. If she thinks about it, that was a command by the strong. So she can interpret a servitude with Irene as following that order.
"Very well. I accept your offer." She said. She then knelt on one knee and bow her head. "I, General Esdeath of the imperial army, swear her allegiance to you alone."
"Good. Now rise. I have a gift for you."
"A gift?"
"Of course." Irene moved aside so Esdeath can see what she was about to see. "Someone of your strength and power still needs a laptop."
Esdeath's eyes widened. Three familiar Teigu appeared from thin air and circled one another before joining together in a flash of red light. Once the enchantment was complete, a young man stood in place of the Teigu, before bowing down to Esdeath.
"It is an honor to serve you again, Esdeath-sama." said the young man.
He wore the black and white uniform of the Three Beast Warriors, and inherited certain features from them. From Nyau, he possessed his blonde hair color, his cat-like eyes and teeth. From Daidara, he inherited his hulk-like body and beard. And from Liver, he took his moustache and his good mannerism.
"I present The Beast Warrior, a powerful pet who even the likes of Night Raid's Akame and Bulat cannot possibly defeat."
"Impressive." Esdeath grinned. "I cannot wait to see him in action."
It was nighttime across the Capital and the hideout of a certain group of assassins. But while most of them were asleep, there were a few who were still awake. One of them just so happened to be Tatsumi, wearing his winter coat from the village. Winter has set in, so the cold was a bit of a bother for him.
The teen couldn't sleep, for personal reason. He figured that a glass of water would help him. So he headed into the kitchen, where his eyes widened a bit in shock. Seated on the dining table was Acnologia.
"You're awake?" Tatsumi asked.
"I don't sleep." Acnologia answered. "Why are you awake?"
Tatsumi gulped and strayed away from his scary glare. "Uh, I just came for a glass of water. Nothing much."
"Are you sure if that's all you want?"
"What?"
"I've been observing you, kid. You seem conflicted even in your mission with Leone. The girl's death hunts you, doesn't it?"
A frown casted on Tatsumi's face. "Yeah…and so what? Are you going to yell at me again?"
Acnologia remained quiet and simply observed. Tatsumi's anger slowly crept on him as he squeezed his fist and looked down on the ground.
"Trust me, I'm trying. I'm really trying to be like everyone else. I've already been told by you and bro to not allow my emotions to get the better of me. But it's not easy. I can't be as composed as the rest of you."
He began to pant. The teen had said all of those words all at once. Acnologia was unfazed though, and even sighed as he rose from his chair.
"Idiot. Is that really what you think of them?"
"Here it comes…" Tatsumi muttered under his breath.
"I'm not going to yell at you." He said.
"You're not?" Tatsumi asked. He was surprised, and didn't bother looking up.
"Sure." He replied. "Everyone has experienced the loss of a loved one in their lives. The good ones…just know how to hide the pain."
"Tatsumi." Akame's voice reached him.
Tatsumi's head perked, and he looked behind him. Akame was approaching him, wearing her jacket. The teen looked back at where Acnologia stood. The Dragon God was gone.
"What are you doing here?" Akame asked.
Tatsumi sighed to relax his body. Acnologia's disappearance had caught him off-guard.
"I…I just came for a glass of water. What about you?" He inquired.
"I came to give an offering to the dead…" Akame answered and walked past him. Her composure was surprisingly calm. Tatsumi was even impressed, and was just about to address it when a recent memory crossed his mind.
"Everyone has experienced the loss of a loved one in their lives. The good ones…just know how to hide the pain."
"Akame." Tatsumi called to her. The female assassin was about to get the offering when she turned to him. Both of them seemed to make eye contact, with Tatsumi gathering the courage he needed to speak.
"I…" He hesitated. "I've been…conflicted ever Mine's passing. I'm trying my best to be composed like…like everyone else…like you."
Akame was triggered by this. Emotions from her heightened, and she would've moved and grabbed Tatsumi in tearful bitterness if not for what followed next.
"But I feel like I'm missing something…You, Leone, Bro…Just the three of you have been able to handle the pain of losing a loved one. I don't know, but I really don't know how to feel about this. Can you please te -"
Akame ran into him and embraced him into a hug. Tatsumi was taken aback, and was just about to inquire about it before stopping himself. Akame was sobbing on his shoulder, with a firm grip on his body as she let out her emotions.
"You can't handle the pain, Tatsumi! You just can't! I've seen many allies die before my eyes! The pain is never easy to get used to! For heaven's sake, I had to bury one of my precious friends with my own hands!"
Tatsumi's eyes widened. Now he was beginning to understand Acnologia's words better. Akame has been hiding these feelings deep down. Now he began to understand what had really been going on.
"But I can never let these feelings out, because they'll affect our next mission! So I have to pretend like everything's fine, when it's really not! We always have to work in the shadows! None of us will be remembered in history! Not even Mine! So what would I do if I couldn't flip this switch?!"
She kept crying on his shoulder, wetting his coat and shirt in the process. Of course, Tatsumi didn't mind it at all. He just stood frozen as Akame's words snuck in deep.
"Now do you get it, kid?"
"Huh?" Tatsumi snapped out of the moment and looked around him. He could've sworn that he heard Acnologia's voice.
He looked down on Akame and returned the hug to her. Crying as well, he quickly snapped out of it when he punched himself in the face. The force of it knocked him to the ground, almost pulling Akame with him.
'I was so stupid! So fucking stupid! Akame knew Mine longer than me! Of course, she'll be upset over her death! She's always been worried about her allies! Just like that time…when I came back from my first mission!'
"Tatsumi!" Akame called
'That's right. I have to remember why I joined this dirty job! I have to get enough money for the people in the village, and…for Sayo! That way the both of us can return home, to the happy faces waiting for us!'
"Sorry, Akame. I was just flipping the switch." He said as he rubbed his pained cheek with the back of his knuckle. "I've been thoughtless up until now. So I'm going to make this promise to you, right here and now."
Akame's teary eyes watched as he rose back to his feet. With his fist raised to her, and a determined look on his face, he made the promise.
"I'll not die! I'll certainly stay alive! I'll never make you experience this pain!"
"Tatsumi…" Akame's eyes widened with hope.
"We'll make a new country…" Tatsumi smiled. "That way we can always see everyone's smiling faces."
"Yeah, that's right." Akame said, rubbing her eyes and ridding the tears.
Acnologia huffed with an impressed smile on his face. He headed down the hallways, with his presence masked so much that not even Akame could sense it.
"He's really like you, Natsu." Acnologia muttered. "All he needs is just the right push to become the man whom everyone can depend on, just like those dragons depended on you. I'm looking forward to his growth."
Irene sipped on a glass of wine. She was wearing a sexy night gown as she sat on the edge of her bed. The enchantress couldn't help but smile slyly. Everything was working out well for her. The emperor was beginning to trust her, Esdeath has sworn her allegiance to her, and now she had gained access to a confidential Teigu.
"I don't know, aunty." said the emperor.
The enchantress reminisced the conversation she had with the emperor and the prime minister. They were seated at a grand dining table while eating.
"No one has tampered with the Teigu for centuries." The emperor added. "And yet you wish to tinker with it."
"I wouldn't advise such." Honest said while chowing down on a chunk of meat. "Only the emperor has the power to wield it."
"Ah yes, the Teigu said to overpower every Teigu. The Imperial Guardian: Shikoutazer. I can see why the both of you would be hesitant." Irene said. "Be at ease, I am only thinking in the best interest of the empire."
"Then you understand." Honest replied. "Besides, there is no greater threat that would require…What did you say again?"
"Modifications." Irene answered. "And to be fair, Prime Minister, there is a greater threat on the horizon."
"You mean the monster you refer to as Acnologia."
"Yes." Irene stated. "I have seen the power he possesses. With the way Shikoutazer is, it won't stand a chance against him. That is why I have a way to modify it to such an extent that Acnologia won't stand a chance."
Both Makoto and Honest glanced at each other. Irene read through them easily. Makoto was cautious of her while Honest was afraid of her. Their eyes went back to her, and then to the young pink-haired girl standing next to her.
"You say that, and yet…Mind my manners, but you have the power to…enchant a Teigu into a human being." Honest said. "You can understand why we would be…concerned."
"You fear that I'll use my Teigu to enchant Shikoutazer into a slave." Irene stated the obvious, surprising Makoto and Honest. "Be rest assured, I have no desire for the empire. If I were, I would've battled along with the other princes and nobles to attain power. I am simply concerned for the security of the empire. Your father would've agreed with me, Your Majesty."
Honest snarled and hid it right away. He really despised Irene, just for being there. She had one edge over him, and that was the weapon of being a family member. Makoto had never interacted well with family members, prior to their deaths. So, of course, it would be easy to exploit that.
"Perhaps, a demonstration of my commitment is in order." Irene said, and snapped her fingers.
The pink-haired girl bowed, and went to work. She disappeared out of the emperor's view, and that of the prime minister, only to return in a few seconds.
"It is done." She said.
Suddenly, the guards cried out in pain, before dropping dead. Makoto and Honest were shaken, and looked around them. Two guards had holes in their chest, one other guard lost his head as it have been vaporized, and five other guards lay in a pool of their own blood with their bones shattered.
"Roman Artillery: Pumpkin was a powerful Teigu before I enchanted her." Irene explained while calming eating her meal. "She may have free will now, but I can assure you that she's loyal to the empire."
"Y-You killed our guards!" Honest yelled and rose to his feet. "Don't you see, Your Majesty! She's about to assassinate you!"
"Quiet!" The pink-haired girl said.
Honest narrowly missed death when she pointed her index finger like a gun and shot a yellow beam at him. It caressed his neck and hit the wall, causing it to explode.
"Stand now." Irene ordered. "I have no interest in the empire. Too much work, not enough freedom. If I truly wanted, I could've done it already. But I won't, because he holds the blood of my dear late brother. So calm down, Prime Minister. I apologize for my servant's overreaction."
Honest was shaken, and looked to Makoto. The kid emperor was in deep thought.
"Your Majesty, don't tell me you are actually considering her words." Honest said. "This may be a ploy to drop your guard."
"The choice is up to the emperor, Prime Minister." Irene cautioned. "Let him decide. If he deems it, I will surrender myself for execution."
Makoto's eyes widened. Irene had struck a good feeling from him. She smiled graciously at him, partly to sell it. Makoto returned it and faced the prime minister.
"Sit down, Prime Minister. She's on our side." He said.
Honest was baffled, but staggeringly returned to his seat.
"Aunty, I have a good feeling that I can trust you. But I cannot dismiss the prime minister's concern. Disposing of our guards was improper, but I understand your intention." Makoto paused and looked at the pink-haired girl. "Your Teigu delivers quite the powerful weapon."
"I wouldn't call her a weapon." Irene said. "She has her own free will, after all. It's with it that she wishes to serve you."
"That is true, Your Majesty." The pink-haired girl bowed her head. "I live to serve the empire which has given me this new life."
Makoto smile widened. "Interesting. But I won't lie, it's a bit weird hearing this from someone with the face of Night Raid's Mine."
Irene chuckled and looked at her latest creation. By enchanting Pumpkin, she had brought life to the Teigu. But what made her stand out was obviously her appearance. She resembled the pink-haired assassin, Mine, from her pigtails and to the very pink dress the deceased girl wore.
"Of course, this is for the moment when she'll crush Night Raid once and for all." Irene explained. "Just imagine their confused and horrified faces as they see the look of their friend and ally massacring them. I'm sure it'd be a feast for the eyes."
"We already have General Esdeath, whom we're already organizing a special team for her." Honest retorted. "Do you dare to insult her capabilities?"
"Of course not. I have nothing but respect for the general. But we cannot just stop with her alone. Every avenue must be adopted in order to ensure the security of the empire. I will not allow a group of assassins to ruin what my brother and our ancestors have fought to maintain."
Honest was taken aback. Irene really sounded convincing. His heart his faltered for a moment there. The patriotism coming off from her was blinding.
"So be it." Makoto nodded. "You shall be given access to Shikoutazer, but only under strict supervision."
"Thank you, Your Majesty. You are too kind."
She studied Honest's expression one last time. The Prime Minister was understandably shaken. He had made a fool of himself in front of the emperor. He feared the end of his influence, which was good for the enchantress. Irene was determined to take it away from him.
"What now, Mistress?" asked the enchanted Pumpkin.
She was back in the present, standing by the door in her own night gown.
"For now we wait." She sighed while steering the wine in the glass. "Honest has already requested Esdeath to use Beast Warrior to assassinate the prime minister and his daughter. It won't be long before he'll want you to assassinate another political threat of his. So the real question is IF you'll be willing."
"I hate the man…" Pumpkin muttered and strengthened her resolve. "But if it is to achieve your goals, I shall follow his order."
"Even if it means destroying Night Raid?"
"Yes. Absolutely."
"Good. I expect nothing less from you."
She enchanted the wine and looked into it. Now she got a live view of Beast Warrior heading towards the location of his target. With another turn of her wine, the scene changed into the inside of a carriage.
"Interesting…" Irene's eyes narrowed. "I know whom the old man and the girl is, but…who's this woman?"
The magic coming off the mysterious woman was alerting. The enchantress couldn't help but grin.
"Looks like things are about to get interesting."
Back in the carriage, Ur was discussing with Spear. They were really hitting it off. Chirou could only chuckle at the ladies as they had their conversation. Unknown to them, a great threat was on its way, and it would turn this happy moment into a scene of tears and blood.
Yep! You read that right! More action coming for Ur! Will she win the fight? Can she protect Chirou and Spear? Find out in the next chapter!
I hope you enjoyed this chapter, even though Acnologia wasn't very prominent. This chapter was to setup some things for him.
You can tell from his conversation with Tatsumi that he won't disclose what he did with Mine's soul. This is for the best, since he doesn't want to give Tatsumi unnecessary hope.
Before you ask, yes that is indeed Mine's Teigu, Pumpkin, which has now adopted a human body. And much like Scarlet, she's a powerhouse too.
"How?" You ask.
Well…wait till the next chapter. You can speculate in the reviews. All I can say certain facts about Pumpkin will give her a huge advantage against her enemies.
Anyway, I've received some questions and comments which demand my response. I'd advice everyone reads it.
(By Guest) "When Mine reincarnates in this alternate timeline, will she have all the memories of her past life as well?"
Answer: Since there are readers who are curious about Mine's circumstances, let me explain it here. Mine's been reincarnated a few hundred years into the future, not an alternate timeline. She doesn't have any memory of her past life YET. The state of this futuristic world is peaceful, just like she wanted. So, in a way, she's witnessing the fruit of her labor with the rebellion. But a trigger will make her recall her past life's memory. Hopefully, I can write a chapter of this on a later date.
(By Guest) "Will Spear survive in this fanfiction please?"
Answer: Probably. Her chances of survival is higher than it was in the main series since Ur is involved. But it doesn't guarantee her safety. Sorry. No spoilers.
(By Guest) "If we're being honest it's either fire magic enhancement magic or if I can make a suggestion why not something like swords magic?"
Answer: That would've been fun. It's compatible with Tatsumi. But enhancement magic seems more beneficial for him.
(By Monsterlover96) "You forgot the one weakness all dragon slayers have…their motion sickness"
Response: Can you tell me where this information was supposed to mention in? I can't seem to find it.
(By keybladelight) "Well that Lara Marvell is the ancestor of Wendy and what does Aknseram want to Acnologia"
Answer: Firstly, Lara is not Wendy's ancestor. She's Wendy's MOTHER from four hundred years ago. Keep in mind that Wendy and the other dragon slayers were born at that period of time. And as for that god's intentions, I cannot reveal that yet.
(By Zatil Hhidayah Spensa) "By the way, just wondering if you have read the 100 year Quest manga."
Response: I haven't, actually. But I am aware of some things which occur in the manga, like the Dragon God, Selene, that you mentioned. But I have no interest in dragging her in, except in an "omake" which would be non-canon to the main story. For now, I'm just waiting until an anime adaptation is made.
_)
So that's about it. Someone did bring up Igneel, and honestly I'm not sure if I should. If I did bring him, his role won't have any impactful meaning. I had to kill off Serena and Yuri just to limit the number of FT characters in this fanfic. Lol
And now for the poll!
Thirty-one of you voted in a poll which would decide on which magic Tatsumi should learn.
Here is the result:
Uno Reverse Magic – 3.9%
Illusion Magic – 4.12%
Ghost Magic – 7.22%
Fire Magic – 7.22 %
Enhancement Magic – 10.32%
In the end, enhancement magic won! Look out for that happening in the next few chapters!
