Walking the two miles to the cemetery, sitting down facing her mother's headstone, tears were dried on her cheeks and music blasting through her earbuds.
She felt empty, and lonely. She needed to start thinking about her after graduation plans. A part of her already knew what she wanted, but she didn't want to leave home. Now realizing… There isn't much for her here, she wanted to explore. Her thoughts were interrupted by the buzz of her phone. Opening her text messages
" You okay baby? Jax told me what happened" Gemma
" Yeah I'm NOT sorry I blew up on Clay either , I'm gonna stay at dads for a day or two , I kinda wanna be alone , visiting mom now" – Sage
" Okay Sweetheart see you soon" Gemma
Kissing the top of her mother's headstone and took her time to walk to the place she didn't really want to go since the argument with her dad , but it was the only place she would be left alone.
Sage walked into her dads quiet empty house, and decided to start some dinner. Placing her self her plate of Spaghetti and garlic bread, and her dad and walk through the door.
"Didn't expect to see you here" Jack said as he took off his hat and place his car keys on the counter.
"Yeah I just wanted some quiet to think, thinking about mom, my future too I guess. Dad how do you feel about me going to school after graduation. I've seen a few shops downtown by School that are hiring, I can start saving up" she gave a weak smile as she set him a dinner plate.
"It's good you get your head out of the clouds and out of this town, away from them, I'm going to eat, get cleaned up and go to bed, I have a 2 AM work shift" Jack finished his dinner and got up and placed his dishes in the sink and disappeared

-One week later –
Gemma shock Sage out of her thoughts has she dazed out her window
"You OK sweetheart you haven't been yourself since the argument with Ope. Jackson said you won't return his calls or text either he's your cousin babe he's worried" Gemma said as she sat next to her
"Oh aunt Gemma , I'm fine! just a lot of my mind lately I need time to myself to think. I already talked this over with dad , , I've been thinking about what I'm gonna do after graduation. That might like to go to Arizona. I know it's a long drive but I won't mind, see I did my research and there's a Beauty school I'm interested in, I have a plan, take a year or two off, get a steady job or two while I'm down there just so I could be financially stable, then start school"
" You sure ? Beauty school ?" Gemma took Sage's hand in hers
" Yeah I'm sure , well my mom and I used to always have a girl night before she… Got sick. We used to always do each other's hair and make up, polished her nails rainbow colors all the time, so it'll be like living a constant good memory of mom. In the meantime I hope you won't be mad, but I applied at that new ice cream place 'scoops' and I start next weekend.. I could look for some babysitting or pet sitting jobs on the side. It's time to spread my wings and fly on my own " she smiled
"I understand that, and I'm proud of you, you can still help out at the garage and I'll continue to pay you as long as you feel that you're making the right decision. When time comes I'll make some calls and help you find a place to rent. I'll even help you with the first two months rent, I don't want to see you struggling over there by yourself" Gemma let go of her hand and got up
