"Well this one is pretty nice" Ty says as few weeks later as he looks a jewelry case as Caleb walks over to them as they stand in a jewelry store
"No that one isn't the right one either" Caleb says as he looks at the necklace "There's just something still missing"
"You realize we have looked at almost every piece of jewelry in this store" Ty says turning to look at him
"I know" Caleb says as he looks at him "But I just want it to be perfect, Cass is getting ready to have the girls and our seventh anniversary is coming up"
"Yea I know" Ty says looking at him "It's hard to believe that Lyndy is going to be seven years old"
"Wedding day that I'll never forget" Caleb says as he looks at him "Getting married and a goddaughter born on the same day" he says continuing "So do you know what you're doing for her birthday yet?"
"Well we have a party planned for her friends from school that Saturday before" Ty says looking at them "And then we'll just have a quite dinner at home on her birthday with everyone"
"So the surprise" Caleb says as he continues to look down at some of the jewelry cases "Do we need to save that for her birthday?"
"Yea I think she should get that on her birthday" Ty says as he looks at him "Two of the surprises that she's getting"
"What else do you have planned?" Caleb says as he turns back to Ty as he is looking across the jewelry store as Caleb flips to look at where he is "What is it?" he says continuing "What is Mitch doing here?"
"I don't know" Ty says as he looks at him "I know him and Lou have been pretty serious in the last few months since they got back together but" he says pausing as he and Caleb look at each other
"You don't think" Caleb as Ty continues to give him a look as they look back at Mitch
Later that night Jack is in the living room reading the newspaper as Mitch walks in "So it's kind of quite in here tonight huh?"
"I suppose it is" Jack says as Mitch walks over as he sits down on the couch "I thought you left after dinner"
"Well I was" Mitch says as he looks at Jack "But there's something I need to talk to you about" he says continuing "So where is everyone, is Lou here?" he says looking at him
"Lyndy is in bed, Ty is out at the barn working on some stuff in the office, Katie went over to a friends house after dinner, and Georgie and Jade are up in the barn loft doing something" he says continuing "And to answer your other question, no Lou is not here, she went to help out at Maggie's" he says continuing to look at Mitch "So now that we've established where everyone is" Jack says as he puts the newspaper down "what is it that you want to talk to me about"
"Well you know that Lou and I have had our rough patches" Mitch says as he begins "But these past few months have been great and I've never been happier, or surer of what I'm about to ask" he says looking him "And I know Lou doesn't need permission from anyone to do anything but I"
"You want to ask Lou to marry you" Jack says cutting Mitch off as he gives him a confused look
"How did you know what I was going to say?" Mitch says as he looks over at Jack
"Because I've been here before" Jack says as he looks at him as they hear the screen door slam "You're acting the same way as Ty did when he came to me about proposing to Amy"
"What about Amy?" Ty says as he comes walking through the living room "Oh" he says looking at them "So has he asked yet"
"You knew too?" Mitch says as he turns around looking at Ty
"Caleb and I saw you at the jewelry store earlier today" Ty says looking at him "We kind of suspected" he says continuing "I'm just going to go check on Lyndy and go to bed, let you two have your time" he says as he walks down the hall
"Well so much for the speech I had planned" Mitch says as he takes a breath as he looks back at Jack
"And your sure about this?" Jack says as he looks at him
"I've never been surer about anything else" Mitch says as he looks at her "And of course I'm going to ask Tim but I wanted to ask you first" he says continuing "And I promise I'll always be there for her and take care of her Jack"
"Okay" Jack says as he sits up straighter "But you have to remember it's not just Lou that you have to think about, you also have to remember that Georgie and Katie are also a part of this deal"
"And I'll love them like they're my own" Mitch says as he looks at him "I already do" he says as he looks at him
"Lou has been through a lot over the years" Jack says as he looks at him "And these last few months, I haven't seen her this happy in a long time" he says continuing "So yes" he says as Mitch continues to look at him "You have my blessing"
"Thank you Jack" Mitch says as they both begin to stand up at Mitch shakes his hand "So can I ask you something" he says as he looks at him "Did you question Ty like this when he asked your permission to marry Amy?"
"Oh I questioned him much worse" Jack says as he smiles a Mitch
"I heard that" Ty says as he walks across the hall into his room as he closes the door as Jack and Mitch smile at one another
A couple weeks later Ty walks into Lyndy's bedroom as she sits on her bed "Sweetie" Ty says as he sits down on her bed "Did you have a fun birthday?"
"Yea" Lyndy says as she looks at him "And I loved my surprise" she says referring to the pony that she had received earlier that day
"Well I have something else for you" Ty says taking a breath as he pulls out a necklace box as he opens it exposing a necklace of a horse shoe with a star in the middle as Lyndy looks at her "I bought this necklace for your mom years ago" Ty says pulling it out of the box "And she wore it almost every day after that" he says beginning to put the necklace around Lyndy's neck "I've been waiting to give this to you when you got old enough" he says continuing "And now that your seven I think your ready to have it" he says as his phone starts going off as he pulls it out of his pants pocket "Hello"
"Ty" Caleb says as he is on the other end of the phone "Can you watch Jackson?" he says continuing "Cass is in labor"
"That wasn't supposed to happen for two weeks" Ty says as Lyndy flips around to look at him
"I know that" Caleb says as he hears Cass yells behind him to hurry up "But they're coming now"
"Yea that's fine" Ty says as he looks back at Lyndy
"Okay great, we'll bring him by on the way to the hospital" Caleb says as he walks toward the car "I mean what are the odds of this happening twice on the same day"
"About the same odds as lightening striking twice in the same spot" Ty says continuing "See you in a little while" he says hanging up the phone as he looks at Lyndy "I guess we're going to have some company" he says as Lyndy continues to look at him
Later that night Ty is sleeping on the bed as his phone begins to go off "Yea" he says as he picks up his phone
"They're here" Caleb says on the other end of the phone as Ty lifts up looking at the bedside clock "Ava was born at fifteen till midnight, and Amy was born at ten till" Caleb says as he continues "Since it's so late is it okay if Jackson just stays there tonight"
"Yea that's okay" Ty says as he lays back down "Last time I checked he was cuddled up with Lyndy asleep"
"Thanks man" Caleb says on the other end of the phone "Okay I'll talk to you later" he says hanging up as Cass is laying behind him with both babies in her arms as one starts to cry "Hey now what's wrong?" Caleb says as he walks over sitting back on the bed with Cass as he smiles at the babies "why so fussy?" he says as he puts his head against Cass's "You did great" he says as they continue to look at the babies
