Small warning: From this Chapter on we may dive into the dlc more or less. I did not play the dlc myself and I took some creative liberties with Jack. Yet I still want to make sure you will be warned.

Time passed by and changes came into action. Jacob fell in love with Lilian, they became a couple.
The thing with the Marquess was quickly settled and Jacob could convince Lilians father that he was the man Lilian was going to marry.
One lovely summer evening, Jacob proposed to Lilian.
And one fine day in autumn, they got married.

Jacob had been insecure about telling her the truth of his profession, but she had just said 'And if you were a dangerous serial killer, so what? I will hide the corpses."
And thus, he knew that he had done the right thing.

The wedding had been a big party. Some Rooks had attended, Evie and Henry had also been there. The two had not yet moved to India, but the preparations were almost done.
Edward had not attended the wedding but given the newly-wed couple an expensive gift. A very own house somewhere in a quieter but decent part of London.
The gift had been a total surprise to Jacob, as he had thought the carriage would bring them to the train.
The driver opened the carriage and handed Jacob the letter.
'Dear Jacob,
I know you love the train but it is maybe not the right place to start a family. Hence I allowed myself to buy this home for you, with furniture and all. The paperwork we can deal with later, because for this a lawyer has to be present. This way was the only way to make it a surprise for you. Have fun in your new home and I do hope it's all to your likings.
Best Wishes
Edward'

Jacob smiled brightly after he had read the letter. This was amazing! He looked at the house and moved out of the carriage. Then he helped Lilian to get out safely ... In fact, he kept her in his arms. Time to honour the tradition. He would carry her into the new home.
"Lilian, this house, it's ours now. Edward bought it for us. It's so amazing! He's so generous."
"Really?", she gasped and held onto Jacob. "You really have to introduce me to this Edward some time."
"Oh, I will. You would like him, he's a nice guy."

The house was in typical Victorian style, but with bright colours to lighten the mood. The windows allowed for alot of light inside. The furniture looked comfy and inviting. The kitchen was pretty modern in all. The living room even had a fireplace. The bedroom even had a generous bed for the couple to sleep in.
The only room that was not with furniture was - upon a small note by the door - the room for a possible baby.
Edward had not dared to also take care of that. That was not his job.

"It's beautiful, Jacob.", Lilian said, as she took off her shoes. Her feet hurt from dancing at the wedding. She moved to hug and kiss Jacob. It was the best day in her life...

It was about one year after that, when gruesome noises from upstairs sounded as if a demon was to be exorcised.
In the living room which was at ground level, Jack tried to ignore the sounds coming from above. He was soon having a step sibling and he didn't like it.

Jacob and Lilian had adopted him about half a year ago, because Lilian had found they should be doing something noble. Sharing their joy in life, as she put it. And Jacob had agreed with her. They had adopted Jack from Lambeth Asylum. And in the beginning it seemed that the boy didn't know happiness. But Jacob would not give him up easily.

Now, Jacob had stayed by Lilians side for as long as possible, but the midwife had sent him out, saying that it was women's business.
"Hey Jack? Everything alright? ...Don't worry, she'll be fine. I know it's difficult for you.. that you'll be having a sibling now.", Jacob softly said.

Jack looked up, when Jacob spoke to him but he ignored him and looked unhappy.
He had been through alot. Had seen things that no child should see. The Fryes were good to him but now it would probably change.

Finally, the wail of a baby was coming from the room above.
Jacob rushed upstairs in excitement.
"It's a boy.", the midwife told Jacob with a big smile.

Now Jacob would not go away easily. He gently pushed the midwife aside and moved to see his lovely wife and their newborn son. "Lilian, my love. How are you?", he kissed her forehead.
She was sweaty and looked like she had run a marathon, but she was smiling and held a small bundle in her arms. The boy was beet red and had calmed down by now. He snuggled against his mom.

Jacob was overwhelmed with joy. This was his family!
He took the bundle with his son into his arms and looked at him.
"I felt better, but I'll make it. I .. still need a bit. You may take him... show him to Jack.", Lilian said. She was getting cleaned up still and also needed some rest.

Jacob nodded and held his son carefully in his arms. He went to go downstairs. He saw Jack already stand at the lower end of the stairs.
"Hey Jack. Do you want to say hi to your new brother?"
Jack looked at Jacob with dismay. "He's not my brother.", and with that, he ran out of the house.
"Jack? ...", Jacob kept himself from shouting. He didn't want to upset the baby in his arms.

The baby boy in the meantime, had snuggled onto Jacob and fallen asleep. He felt that his father had a relaxing aura about him.
Jacob was a bit confused and moved back to see Lilian. She too had fallen asleep.
The midwife took care of the last things and tidied up.
"Don't worry, young man. This is entirely normal behaviour. It'll get fixed in no time. Don't worry."
"You think so?", Jacob asked.
"Of course."

Jacob thought for a bit and then spoke up. "Anyway, thank you so much for your help. I'm glad we could call upon you."
"You're welcome. Have a nice day."
