It's early morning in the Air Temple Island.Tenzin strode into his room where his family was all sleeping on one bed. He smiled at them and sat down. Jinora was the first to wake.
"Daddy, you're home. We waited up for you. Is Korra okay?"Jinora asked.
"Yes. She's fine, sweetie."Tenzin replied.
Ikki stretched out her arms and Tenzin pulled her into a hug.
"I was scared. I thought she wasn't coming back." Ikki said.
"I'm sorry you were scared. But everything is going to be fine now. I promise."Tenzin said.
In the infirmary,Korra woke up.She rubbed her eyes and saw Jotaro reading a book.
"Jotaro?"
"Oh,you're awake."Jotaro said.
Korra smiled."I,um,I never got the chance to thank you,Jotaro.So,uh,thanks."
"Don't mention it.I'm just glad you're safe."Jotaro replied.
Korra grinned then hesitated."There's 1 thing I haven't told you yet,Jotaro."
"What is it?"Jotaro asked.
"When I was in that box,I had a vision of Aang."
"What did he tell you?"
"He was warning me about Tarrlok and his bloodbending and stuff but after the vision was over,I had another vision."
"Really?"
"I saw you and that DIO guy.You were going to burn him but then he screamed 'THE WORLD'.And that was it."
Jotaro's eyes widened and he hesitated."You should probably get up.Pema has made breakfast for us."
"Oh,ok."Korra said as she got out of bed but Jotaro stops her.
"Wear some pants first."Jotaro said and Korra looks down and is shocked to see that she's in her underwear.She quickly covered herself with a blanket.
"Sorry!"Korra said.
Later everyone is at the dining hall and are eating food while Korra is gorging down Pema's food.
"Easy,Korra.The food's not going anywhere."Jotaro said.
"Sorry,I haven't been eating in 24 hours.I was trapped in a metal box,remember?"Korra said.
"Yeah,I do."Jotaro replied.
"The food tastes great, Pema. I'm starting to feel like myself again." Korra said.
Pema smiled."We're so glad you're all home safe."
She stood up and started taking plates. Asami joined her.
"Korra, I realize you've been through a lot, but I need to know everything that happened." Tenzin said.
Korra nodded. "Well for starters, Tarrlok isn't who he says he is. He's Yakone's son."
"It all makes sense. So, that's how Tarrlok managed to Bloodbend us without a full moon." Lin said.
"But how did you escape?"Where's Tarrlok?"Tenzin asked.
"Amon captured him and took his bending."Korra replied.
"What?"Tenzin was shocked.
"Yeah, Amon just showed up out of nowhere and he almost had me too.Then,Jotaro and Naga found me."Korra said.
Tenzin stroked his beard. "This is very disturbing news. Amon is becoming emboldened. Taking out a councilman, almost capturing the Avatar, I fear that Amon is entering his endgame."
In the kitchen, Pema cried out. Asami ran to her side.
"Pema! Are you all right?"Asami asked.
"The baby is just kicking really hard is all. I'm fine."Pema replied.
"Should I get Tenzin?"Asami asked.
Pema shook her head. "No reason to worry him. It's nothing."
Just then Mako walks into the kitchen carrying a teapot.
"Can I get some hot water? Korra needs more tea."Mako said.
"You're a Firebender.Heat it yourself."Asami said.
"I'm going to step out, in case you 2 need to talk."Pema said as she walks out.
"Is there something we need to talk about?"Mako asked.
"I've noticed how you've been treating Korra.You have feelings for her, don't you?" Asami asked.
"What? No! She was taken by a crazy Bloodbender! How did you expect me to act?" Mako asked.
"I like Korra. But you've been keeping the truth from me this whole time."Asami said.
"The truth?About what?"Mako asked.
"You're really going to make me say it?"Asami asked.
"Yes, because I don't know what you're talking about."Mako said.
"The kiss,Mako.I know."Asami said.
Mako stuttered."I...well...I...Bolin told you didn't he?"
"Don't blame your brother for what you did! Do you have feelings for Korra or not?"Asami asked angrily.
"Look, things are crazy right now. Can we deal with our relationship problems later?"Mako said as he took Asami's hand but she pulled it away.
"Well, there might not be any relationship to worry about later."Asami said as she walked off.
"Asami!"Mako sighed.
Tenzin and Lin stepped out of the Temple.
"Lin, I, uh, I need to ask you a favour. It would mean the world to me, but I know it could be a uh- a potentially awkward situation. Furthermore-"Tenzin was cut off.
"Spit it out already!"Lin said.
"Will you stay here and watch over Pema and the children while I meet with the Council? With everything that's happened lately, I want to be sure my family is in safe hands."Tenzin said.
Lin smiled."Of course I'll help, old friend."
"I didn't realize you two were out here." Pema said as she strode up to them, carrying Meelo.
"Pema, yes. Lin has agreed to help out around here and keep an eye on things while I'm away." Tenzin said.
"Thank you! I could use the extra pair of hands. Would you mind giving Meelo a bath? He's filthy." Pema said as she gives Lin her youngest son.
"This is not what I signed on for!" Lin yelled.
"Thank you, Lin!" Tenzin called while mounting on Oogie who flies off.
She looked back at Meelo.He was picking his nose and he farted.
"I gotta poo.Really bad."Meelo said as Lin Metalbends a cable around him to avoid touching him while making a disgusted face and walks off.
Meanwhile,Jotaro is sitting on some steps outside the Air Temple Island.He was having a peaceful time until he heard Asami's voice.
"Hey, Jotaro."Asami said.
"What are you doing out here?"Jotaro asked.
"I was walking around until I saw you here.Do you mind if I talk to you?"Asami asked.
"Sure."Jotaro replied.
Asami sat next to him."I'm curious,Jotaro.What's your world like?"
"No benders.We just have Stands."Jotaro replied.
"Stands?What's that?"Asami said.
"The physical manifestation of your fighting spirit."Jotaro said.
"Do you have a Stand?"Asami asked and Jotaro nodded in reply.
"How come I can't see it?"
"Only Stand users can see other Stands."
"Oh.Tell me more."
"About what?My Stand?"
"No.About yourself.I didn't get to know you that much since we met."
"Where do I start?"
"Tell me about your family."
Jotaro sighed."Well,when I was young,my father left me and my mother since he was always on these 'tours'.And we never saw him again.Throughout my life,my mom took care of me since my dad sort of... left us."
"I'm sorry.I guess it was hard for you and your mom.At least you have a mom to take care of you."Asami said sadly.
"Do you have good memories about your mother?"Jotaro asked.
"Yeah.There were a lot actually.I remember taking walks with her,reading bedtime stories.Until,1 night,the Agni Kai Triad broke in and...took my mother away.It was terrible."Asami said and tears were coming out of her eyes.
She brushed them off."I'm sorry.I didn't mean to make things a bit sad."
Jotaro placed his hand on her shoulder."I may not have the same experience as you but if you're going through anything,I'll be there for you."
Asami blushed."Thanks,Jotaro.That means a lot."
"Anytime."Jotaro said as he stood up."I'm going to the library for awhile.Wanna come with me?"
Asami stood up."I'd love to."
Tenzin landed Oogie on the roof of City Hall where several cleaners were scrubbing a dome.
He walked past them but heard electrical buzzing.An electrical disc flew past him and he barely dodged it.The cleaners turned out to be Equalists.They charged at him and Tenzin proceeded to avoid their attacks and sent them flying into walls, knocking them out.
Just then,the door opens revealing Tarrlok's assistant who comes running for Tenzin.
"Ah, I'm so relieved to see you!"The assistant said.
"The other council members. Are they alright?" Tenzin asked.
"I'm afraid not. Just received word from Chief Saikhan. They've all been captured."The assistant said making Tenzin shocked.
"This can't be happening."Tenzin said.
"The leadership of Republic City is in your hands now, Councilman Tenzin."The assistant said.
Suddenly, several explosions rocked the city. Tenzin ran to the edge of the roof and gasped. Several Equalist airships were dropping bombs on Republic City. He narrowed his eyes.
On Air Temple Island, Lin and the Airbender children stared at the commotion in the city. Lin grimaced.
"All right,kids.Time to go inside."Lin said and the kids nodded.Jotaro,Korra and the others ran out.
"We heard explosions. What's going on?" Korra asked.
"Republic City is under attack."Lin replied.
Jotaro clenched his fist.
Meanwhile at an airship,Hiroshi is looking at a photo of him,his wife,and Asami as a child and then snaps the photo away and placed the locket in his jacket.Then he walked up to where Amon stood.
"I've dreamed this day for so long."Hiroshi said.
"Yes, the time has come for the Equalists to claim Republic City as their own."Amon replied.
The boat docked at the wharf on the mainland and Team Avatar stepped out. Asami looked around.
"Where did you say you parked the car?"Asami asked.
"It's right around here somewhere. There it is!"Korra replied.
They ran in the direction she pointed. Asami's hot-rod was smashed into a lamppost with several parking tickets on the hood.
"Great job,Korra."Jotaro said sarcastically.
"Hey, you guys got arrested and left me with the car. I made it very clear I don't know how to drive."Korra said.
"All in all, you did a great job. But how are we going to pay for all these parking tickets?"Bolin asked.
Mako grabs the tickets and burns them all.
"Relax. The city's under attack. The police have more important things to worry about."Mako said.
Korra and Bolin got into the back of the car and Asami pulled out her stolen Equalist glove from the trunk. She went to the driver's seat and Mako moved to sit beside her.
"Why don't you sit in the back? With Korra."Asami said.
"I think I will."Mako replied.
Korra looked at the two of them in confusion.Jotaro sat beside Asami in the passenger seat and she revved the engine.
"Everything all right?" Korra asked Mako.
"Yeah.Everything's terrific."Mako replied.
Asami took off.
Meanwhile in the police headquarters in the control room Saikhan is in the control room.Just then,Tenzin dashed into the room.
"Chief Saikhan."Tenzin said.
"Tenzin! Boy, am I glad to see you. I was worried you'd been captured as well."Saikhan said.
"I'm the only council member left. What's the status?"Tenzin asked.
"Amon has launched simultaneous attacks across the boroughs. The police are trying to regain control but we're spread too thin."Saikhan replied.
"I need to send a wire."Tenzin said.
The wire had just been sent when the lights went out. Saikhan pulled out a flashlight and gave one to Tenzin. Suddenly, gas started coming in through the vents. Saikhan quickly closed the vents with metalbending. More gas came from under the door.
"We need to evacuate immediately. Everyone stay close to me."Tenzin said.
They moved through the station, protected by a bubble of air. Tenzin led them out the front door and extinguished the bubble. Hiroshi's mecha-tanks surrounded them.
"Not these mecha-tanks again!"Tenzin said.
The mecha tanks hold up magnetic arms and pulls the Metalbenders' uniforms and two Metalbenders are caught with the magnets but Tenzin tries to save Saikhan from being pulled with an air current but Saikhan gets captured as well.
Now he was all alone. The tanks shot cables at him but he deflected them with air. He lasted a few seconds longer then he was slammed into a column and thrown to the ground.His vision starts to get blurry as a mecha-tank gets close to him.
Then out of nowhere, Asami whirled the car around a corner and into the square.Bolin made a ramp and everyone leapt out of the car as it flew off the ramp and smashed into a tank and knocked another one off its feet. The 5 remaining tanks converged on Team Avatar.
The mecha tanks begin to attack them by unleashing extension cables at Mako and they electrocute him making the Firebender scream in pain as electricity surges through his body but he was able to redirect the lightning into the tank itself.
With the earth ramp Korra runs up to one of the tanks and then delivers a water strike into the tank's engine.The tank began smoking and Bolin tripped it with earth.
Tenzin was being loaded into another truck by several chi-blockers. Asami attacked them and took 2 of them down. 3 more attacked and she blocked and evaded their blows, electrocuting them as she went.
A mecha-tank fired an extension cable at Jotaro but Jotaro catches it with Star Platinum.Star Platinum pulls the cable making the tank go to his direction and gives Star Platinum a chance to give the tank the usual beatdown.
ORA!ORA!ORA!ORA!ORA!ORA!ORA!ORA!ORA!ORA!ORA!ORA!
The tank was sent flying to air and it crashed to the wall of the police headquarters.
Tenzin regained consciousness and rolled underneath a tank, blowing it up into the air and slamming it into a roof. The clash here was over. They had defeated all the mecha-tanks.
"Tenzin has escaped yet again. I can't stand to see Asami fighting alongside those benders and that man!"Hiroshi said as he watched the fight using his telescope.
"We will capture them before long.And you will have your daughter back."Amon replied.
Korra ran up to Tenzin."Are you all right?"
"I'm fine. Thank you, kids. Another moment and I would have been on my way to Amon."Tenzin said.
"Everyone...look."Jotaro said pointing at the Air Temple Island and there are Equalist airships heading for it.
"Oh no."Tenzin said.
The Lieutenant looked down over Air Temple Island.Beneath them, a group of White Lotus members had gathered to defend the Temple and the Airbending family within it. The airship sent a cable that plunged into the crowd. The Lieutenant and several chi-blockers all slid down it into battle.
Lin stood guard over the house. She looked to the Airbender family.
"Everyone, get inside and remain calm."Lin said bu then Pema starts screaming in pain.
"Pull it together, Pema. Didn't I just say stay calm?"Lin said.
"Mommy, what's wrong?" Ikki asked.
"The baby's coming!"Pema said.
2 female Air Acolytes rush over to Pema and lead her inside.
The White Lotus security did their best but it was no use. Soon the Island was overrun with Equalists. The Lieutenant led several chi-blockers to the house. Lin stood alone, barring their way.
She charged, instantly knocking out 2 enemies. The rest spread out, trying to flank her. They moved in and she defended herself on all sides.
Meanwhile Pema is in bed as an Air Acolyte puts a cloth on her forehead.
"The children, where are they?" Pema asked.
"Don't worry. They're in the other room, totally safe." A female Air Acolyte said.
Back outside,Lin fired two cables at the Lieutenant. He caught them on his sticks and electrocuted her through them. Then he ran forward to finish it. Suddenly Jinora appeared on her glider.
"Stay away from my dad's ex-girlfriend!"Jinora yelled as she fired a blast of air,knocking the Lieutenant off the roof.
"Jinora, you shouldn't be out here!" Lin yelled.
Just then Ikki arrives on her air scooter and knocks several Equalists over.
"Get off our island!"Ikki yelled.
"Girls, you need to go back inside this instant!" Lin ordered.
Just then Meelo jumps down from the roof.
"Taste my fury!" Meelo yelled farting on an Equalist's face knocking him out.
"Meelo,be careful!"Lin called but Meelo ignored him.
The Equalists charged at Meelo but he defeated every single one of them.
"Never mind."Lin said.
Later the Equalists are bound in a row in front of Lin, the Air children, and the White Lotus sentries.Lin ordered the White Lotus security to lock them away in the basement.Oogie grunted as he flew into the Island, carrying Tenzin and Team Avatar.
The children ran and embraced him.
"Oh, thank goodness you're all right."Tenzin said.
"We caught the bad guys."Meelo said and Tenzin was shocked by this.
"You let them fight?! Do you realize what could have happened?" Tenzin asked.
Lin smiled."I would have been toast if it weren't for your kids. You should be proud, Tenzin. You taught them well."
He looked at his children's happy faces and smiled. Lin gestured to the house. "Go on. Be with your wife."
Tenzin runs down the hall and he hears a baby crying.
"Pema!"Tenzin called.
He arrives at the room where he finds Pema holding their new child.
"Tenzin."Pema said.
"I'm here,Pema."Tenzin said as he sits next to his wife.
"This is our new son."Pema said as she passed the baby next to him.
Tenzin greets his newborn child and Jinora,Ikki,and Meelo peer into the room.
"Come meet your new brother."Tenzin said.
They ran to him and Ikki introduced them.
"Welcome. I'm Ikki, this is Jinora and this is Meelo. We have a super great family and we're so happy that you're a part of it."Ikki said.
"What are you going to name him.Can I pick?"Jinora asked.
"We already chose a name." Pema said.
"Rohan."Tenzin said.
Korra,Jotaro,Mako,and Lin watch from a near doorway.
"I'm sorry to interrupt,but more airships are coming."Korra said.
"Everything's not gonna be fine,is it,Daddy?"Ikki asked.
Outside the gang all see incoming airships.
"What do you want to do, Tenzin?" Korra asked.
Tenzin sighed."I need to protect my family and get them as far away from this conflict as possible. If Amon got his hands on my children- I hate to even think of it."
"If you're leaving, then I'm coming with you." Lin said.
"But-"Tenzin was cut off.
"No arguments. You and your family are the last of the Airbenders. There's no way in the world I'm letting Amon take your bending away."Lin said.
"Thank you Lin.Korra,I want you,Jotaro and your friends to leave this island and hide for the time being."Tenzin said.
"I'm not giving up!"Korra said.
"I'm not asking you to. I sent word to the United Forces. They will be here soon. And once my family is safe, I will return. With the reinforcements, we can turn the tide in this war."Tenzin said.
"What you're saying is, we need to be patient."Korra said.
Tenzin smiled."You're learning well."
Lin,Pema and the children get on Oogie before Tenzin could join,he hugs Korra.
"Stay safe,Korra."Tenzin said.
"You too."Korra replied.
Tenzin turns to Jotaro."I'm trusting you to protect Korra,Jotaro.Never leave her side."
"I won't.Goodbye,Tenzin."Jotaro said as he clasped arms with Tenzin.
"Oggie,yip-yip."Tenzin said and Oogie starts flying off.
Just then,an airship hovered right over the island and sent a cable into the courtyard.Chi-blockers came swinging down it.
4 White Lotus members stood protectively in front of Team Avatar.
"Go,we'll hold them off."One of the White Lotus members said and Korra gets on Naga.
"Everyone,climb on."Korra said.
Mako mounted behind her and Bolin behind him.Asami and Jotaro managed to squeeze onto the back.
"Let's go girl."Korra said and Naga starts running off.
"Mosutache guy!"Bolin yelled pointing at The Lieutenant who was sliding down the mountainside towards them.He flipped off a rock into the air.Naga jumped slapped him with her paw.He went flying.
They reached the water and Naga dove in. Korra created a bubble of air around them and Naga headed for the shore, where in the distance, a city was on fire.
Meanwhile Tenzin and his family are flying away but the Equalist airships were approaching quickly.One of them fires a net at Oogie but Lin Metalbends her cable to destroy the net.Then she wrapped her cable around the other one. She stood up and looked sadly back at the Airbender family.
"Whatever happens to me,don't turn back."Lin said.
"Lin,what are you doing?!"Tenzin asked but Lin jumps off Oogie.
"Lin!"Tenzin yelled.
Lin lands on the airship and starts ripping it apart with her metalbending.She launched herself onto the other airship and proceeded to do the same thing.Then 2 chi-blockers came up behind her and electrocuted her in the back.She cried out and fell,defeated and the Airbender family look back,shocked.
Meelo sniffled."That lady is my hero."
"Yes,she is."Tenzin said sadly as Oogie keeps flying.
In a sewer tunnel, Korra looked out at the empty Air Temple Island with remorse. Mako put his hand on her shoulder.
"Korra,we should get moving."Mako said.
Korra nodded and Mako led her into the tunnel.Asami saw their connection and scowled. Bolin of course was oblivious.Jotaro sighed silently and brought up the back of the group.
Good grief.When will this relationship drama end?*Jotaro thought.
Back at Air Temple Island, rain poured from the night sky. A cuffed Lin was thrust to her knees in front of Amon.
"Tell me where the Avatar is,and I'll let you keep your bending."Amon said.
"I won't tell you anything,you monster."Lin replied.
"Very well."Amon said as he places his thumb on her forehead and takes her bending away.
Meanwhile a ship is sailing for Republic City and a man walks over to another man who is wearing a strapping Fire Nation outfit.
"General, I just received a wire from the Avatar. She says Amon and his forces have gained control of the city. How do you want to respond?" The man asked.
"Tell her we will be arriving in three day's time and that I look forward to winning back Republic City, together." The general said.
The man saluted."As you wish,General Iroh."
