A Gust of Country Love
At Country Corral, a group of country trolls was in the middle of playing Tubes and Steps, and one of them was about the roll the dice, shaking it in his hands before tossing them onto the board. However, he tossed it too hard, and one of the dice bounced off and fell into the jaws of a chomping clover. The group gasped as the female troll shouted, "Aw naw! Now, we'll never know how many spaces his piece moves"! The group screamed in agony before Gust came galloping towards them, saying, "Don't worry, y'all. Gust Tumbleweed is here." He walked over to the gameboard and scanned it before grabbing a dice from his pocket, saying as he shook it in his hand, "Judging by the amounts of bounce, the angling of the gameboard, and the surface structure." He gently tossed it as the dice landed and showed a visible three on top, next to the other dice, which also had a three on it. The group cheered as the troll rolled the dice and moved his piece six spaces before saying, "Thank you, Gust." The fun sheriff tipped his hat and said, "My pleasure. now, y'all be careful ayn' don't play too roughly." He started to walk away, as, from a distance, Holly watched him leave with a huge smile and a small blush on her face. Buckaroo was exiting her house when she saw Holly with a dreamy look in her eyes as the detective smirked and trotted to Holly, whispering, "Guess you ayy fan ov great, awful strong heroes like Gust, huh"? Holly's face flushed red as she crossed her arms and turned her head away in denial, saying, "Ay don't know what ya talking about, Buckaroo." Buckaroo snickered silently before gently shoving Holly's shoulder as she stated, "Gerl, it's been 4 years since ya told me ya liked him! When are ya gonna ask him out"?!
Holly sighed and said, "Ay wanna, Buckaroo. I mightily do! But it's difficult"! Buckaroo rolled her eyes and commented, "What's so difficult about asking ayy guy out? Ya go up ta him, ya chat, ya confess your feelings, ya ask him out on ayy date, that's it! Nothing difficult about that"! Holly sighed and said, "True, but faw me, it's...well...complex. Ay mighty like him, but ay fear he may nahwt like me bak. Besides, what if some othuurr troll has his eyes set on him romantically? Ay don't wanna start ayy feud ovuurr him with that there troll. Don't ya remember what happened last week with that there Beatrice gerl who were McJagger's old classmate? We were lucky she ayn' Laguna did nahwt break out into some crazy brawl ayn' at thay ...uhh same time, mighty awful happy ta see our friend a-standin' up faw herself. But y'all see my point there"? Buckaroo nodded as she said, "Holly Darling, ay understand y'all's doubts about this here, but how are y'all gunna know if he likes y'all bak if y'all don't try? Y'all need-ta buck up, ayn' stop a-bein' such ayy scaredy troll! March raheet up ta Gust, ayn' pour out all y'all's emotions ayn' feelings towards thay ...uhh guy until it's overflowing so much, he ken't move ayn' has ta listen ta ya! Ayn' whatevuurr his response is, y'all adapt ayn' accept it." Holly considered her best friend's words as she said, "Ya make ayy darn good point, but...ay don't even know where ta begin." Buckaroo placed a hand on Holly's shoulder as she said, "Well, we ken start by asking some ov our friends what it was like ta admit theuurr feelings ta someone they love so much. Maybe a-hearin' theuurr stories will vie ya some ideas on what ta do. Ayn' don't ya worry, Holls, your old wing troll Buckaroo is here ta help." Hearing that made holly smile as both country trolls high-hoofed one another and started to trot to TRollstopia while Buckaroo said, "Follow me. Ay know just who we ken ask first."
"Hold up. You want me to tell you what exactly"? This question was asked by Melody, who was busy working at the salon, trimming a blue funk troll's red hair, as Holly said, "We wan-ta hear y'all's story about when Mojo told y'all he liked ya." Melody listened while she worked as she said, "Well, it's not something much storywise, but it was a cute moment. But I... don't feel like talking about it right now. Not because I'm busy, but...I'm going through some love trouble myself. Nothing with Mojo, in case you're asking. Our relationship is still solid as a rock. But...something happened recently and...it's left me at a crossroad." Holly and Buckaroo felt concerned for Melody as Holly commented, "Aw naw. What happened," as Buckaroo asked, "Did he cheat on ya"? Melody raised her hands temporarily and said, "No, no, no, no, no! He didn't cheat on me! Honest. It's just...well...can you both keep a secret"? Holly nodded as Buckaroo raised an eyebrow, stating, "Depends on what the secret is." Melody sighed and said, "A couple of days ago...after everything that went down with Marcus...Sid came up to me and...he kissed me." Holly and Buckaroo's jaws dropped as Melody continued, saying, "I know. I was speechless too. I didn't know how to react, especially since I think Sid might have feelings for me. But the problem is...I don't "like" Sid in that way, but I don't know how to tell him that without hurting him. You see..." Melody bit her tongue, unsure if she should tell her friends about Sid's species' real truth. She slowly took a deep breath and came up with a great cover, saying, "Sid is...fragile. Underneath that tough exterior he shows, he's sweet and very loving. I don't want to hurt Sid by telling him I don't love him that way, especially that I have a boyfriend, because he might become very..."sad" and never experience happiness again. And even if I wanted to, it's been hard to talk to him because, since that kiss, he and I felt awkward around each other. I don't know what to do."
Melody soon finished with the funk troll's hair as she removed the cape and said, "There you go, sir. You approve"? he troll nodded and said, "I dig it! Thanks, Melody," before he got up and left. Before Holly and Buckaroo could say anything, Melody called for her next customer, and to her surprise, it was Sid. Melody became a little nervous as she said while scratching the back of her head, "Sid! How...nice to see you. I...didn't think you'd be one to come to get your hair done." Sid had an awkward smile as he replied, "Well, I mean, I heard that this place was...pretty cool...and that you were a terrific hairdresser. So, I thought...why not give this a try and...*sighs.* Alright, look, I need to be honest with you a minute and say I'm sorry about...that kiss." Melody shook her head before saying, "It's alright, Sid. You're...," as she stopped to look at Holly and Buckaroo before saying, "Feeling things, and...that's a good thing. It's alright to have those kinds of feelings towards others. It's something natural that happens to all of us." Sid sighed and said, "Yeah, but...ok, I need to level with you. While deep down, I...kind of enjoyed that kiss, even deeper, it felt wrong. Of course, nothing with you is half-pop, but taking what you've taught me in considering others' feelings, I...don't really like you? In the "like" like manner"? Melody seemed to understand as she said, "It's ok, Sid. Truth be told; honestly, I should've said something but, while I'm happy you were able to experience what was possibly your "first kiss," I don't really "like" like you either." Sid smiled and sighed a breath of relief as he said, "Oh good. I was worried there for a minute. I mean, nothing against you, but honestly, the only reasons I kissed you was 1) I was coming off of that emotional rollercoaster high from what happened with Laguna's father, and 2) well, I just wanted to see what it would be like. You know, to kiss someone you're in love with. In case I find love, which I highly doubt since I think love is a mushy, sugary game. And I picked you because, well, you're the first troll who took a chance on me and...I guess I felt like I owed you? Does that make sense"?
Melody nodded and said, "Yeah, I get it. I should also tell you that even if you did have feelings for me, I'm...kind of...taken. I have a boyfriend back home in Volcano Valley." Sid raised an eyebrow and asked, "Is he some troll named Mojo Mohawk? I heard Val mention him and you in the same sentence a while back, and in my mind, I thought he might be your boyfriend." Melody nodded and blushed, saying, "Yep. Mojo's my boyfriend. We maintain a steady and solid long-distance relationship, always writing letters and staying in touch. I wish he lived here in Trollstopia with us, but he has a job back at Volcano Valley, just like I have my job here. And speaking of job, I have a job to do. Take a seat, Sid." The Flexi-Troll sat down in the chair as Melody turned her head to face Holly, saying, "Sorry I couldn't help you, Holly." However, she got a warm smile from the country ambassador as Holly commented, "Actually, you and Sid did help me." Melody and sid were both confused as the pop/rock troll placed a cape around Sid while he asked, "How did we help you"? Holly answered, "A-seein' ya both a-bein' honest with each othuurr done helped me see that honesty is ayy key asset when a-tellin' someone how ya feel. Naw matter if it's darn good aw bad." Melody nodded and added, "Yeah, and nothing's more honest than when you speak from the heart. That's what I noticed when Mojo told me how he felt about me." Holly had a huge grin as she said, "Thanks, y'all," before she and Buckaroo left the salon, as Sid asked in confusion, "What was that about"? Melody shrugged and replied as she grabbed her scissors and a comb, "Beats me, but at least we were able to help. Now, what are we doing today, Sid"?
Outside, Buckaroo grinned and said, "Well, that there were ayy little unexpected, but at least Melody was able ta give y'all some darn good advice. Now, let's go see our next troll, who ken give us ayy raw experience in a-tellin' someone she likes how she feels." Both country trolls walked through town until they spotted who they were looking for. Laguna was playing a game of chess with McJagger, and Aggie was reading a book when the trio looked up and saw them approaching as Aggie got up, saying as she closed her book and placed it into her bag, "Hi, Holly! Hey, Buckaroo"! Buckaroo tipped her hat as Holly said, "Howdy, y'all! Ya mind if ay ask ya something"? McJagger and Laguna looked up from their game as the funk troll said, "Of course. Ask away." Holly then asked, "What was it like to tell some troll ya liked so much how ya felt about 'em"? Aggie, Laguna, and McJagger thought about it as Aggie was the first to speak, saying, "Well, I confessed my feelings to Trollex, at first, I felt really nervous and confused because, well, these feelings inside of me were so new. and honestly, it only got stronger over time and...in a way...I was almost in self-denial of them because I was young at the time. I did my best to be as honest about how I felt with Trollex, and then, he took the reins and "helped me" discover that I truly loved him when he kissed me. That experience showed me that sometimes, in the smallest moments where you seem to doubt how you feel, you need to take the biggest risks to express them towards others."
Laguna then spoke up, saying, "As for me, well, when I first started crushing on McJagger, I also felt nervous, but mainly towards him thinking that I wasn't pretty or beautiful because of...you know...what I've been through. And even with my friends giving me a small makeover, if you remember Aggie, I still had that feeling, and it seemed to grow because, in a way, I felt a bit pressured to look pretty just to try and impress a guy. After my initial panic attack, it provided me self-realization that while looking pretty is a nice change of pace, to really express my true feelings, I had to be myself, no matter what my appearance looks like. After all, I am beautiful in my own unique way, and that's the best way to express how you feel. Once I felt more comfortable as myself, despite my initial fears and doubts, I spoke with McJagger, and we bonded over a common interest." Then, McJagger added, "After spending some time together, we started to grow gradually closer, and after the events of before and after Haircut Day, we got to talking, and after saying how we felt,...soon, we became official." Holly's eyes widened in awe as she said, "Aw! Such ayy sweet story," as Buckaroo was also smiling as she said, "Holls is right. It is such ayy tender, heart-warming tale." Holly then asked, "So, you guys just acted like yourselves when ya told your partner how y'all felt? Ya didn't need ta do anything big or extravagant"? Aggie, Laguna, and McJagger shook their heads as Aggie said, "The only thing you need to do is just act naturally and be honest with yourself and the troll you like."
McJagger added, "Think of confessing your emotions to someone as having a regular chat with your friends. You wouldn't act differently or speak a different way in front of us, right"? Holly shook her head and responded, "Naw way. Ay, ken confidently be me around y'all because y'all are my friends! But, when it comes ta romance, ay'm as terrified as ayy mouse in ayy cage full of cats." Buckaroo comforted her best friend by saying, "Holls, ya don't have ta be scared about this. Besides, you're one of the most confident trolls in all of Trollstopia. If y'all can drill ayy hole faw raw glitter in ayy Glitter Mine ayn' live ta tell the tale, y'all can go up ta Gust ayn' stand tall ayn' proud, stating, "Gust Tumbleweed, ay love ya with all my heart ayn' soul"! Y'all can do this, Holls. Ya need ta be confident in yourself"! Holly nervously looked at Buckaroo and held her best friend's hands as she said, "Ay...ay don't know, Buckaroo. Ay know that he'll reject me or say that he doesn't feel the same" Aggie came up and placed a hand on Holly's shoulder as she said, "Holly, it's ok to be nervous when telling someone that you love them, but how can you know Gust won't lie you that way if you don't jump at the opportunity and tell him"? Laguna added, "Note: Aggie is correct. While being nervous is a normal thing, in the beginning, one cannot reciprocate their own emotions unless you tell them to the troll of interest to you." McJagger even commented, "They're right. Just tell Gust, and no matter what, it'll be groovy because at least you'll feel better expressing your feelings for him."

Holly and Buckaroo applauded the trio for a great performance as Holly then placed a fist over her chest while saying, "That there settles it! It's tahm faw this here Country troll ta stand tall ayn' tell Gust how ay feel about him romantically"! Everyone cheered for Holly as buckaroo patted holly on the back while saying, "atta gerl, Holls! You go out there ayn' give it all ya got"! Holly then began to ponder on something as she asked, "Well, there's only one thing. Thay ...err only question is how am ay gonna be able ta tell him? He's busy throughout thay ...err day acting as thay ...err fun sheriff." Aggie then asked, "Well, is he busy at night? What if you made plans to spend time with Gust"? McJagger then remembered something as he said, "I got it! A new restaurant opened up in Vibe City, and it's a real groovy place for couples to go and dine. Why don't you set up a dinner date with Gust and eat there"? Holly thought about it before asking, "Do ya have ta dress fancy or anything"? McJagger shook his head while saying, "The only thing fancy you need to bring is a smile and positive vibes." Holly jumped up and clicked her heels while saying, "Woo-hoo! Then, count me in! Hold on ayy S-I-L to the very soul minute. What if I say the wrong thing or do something wrong by accident"? Aggie then got another idea as she said, "Then, we'll go with you and provide backup support." Buckaroo became confused as she asked, "Uh, doesn't that kind ov defeats the purpose ov ayy date"? McJagger then wrapped his arm around Laguna while saying, "Not if it's a double date." Laguna then blushed as she realized what McJagger had said, replying, "Note: McJagger makes a good point. If we come along with you and Gust as a double date, then we can help you out." Aggie then snapped her fingers and said, "Genius, but let's make it a secret double date. You guys follow them but get a table next to them. That way, you can enjoy your night out and secretly give Holly a hand or two. And if it'll help, let's make it a secret triple date. Trollex and I can use a night out anyways."
Holly felt deeply touched that her friends were going to help her as she said, "Y'all...oh, come here, y'all," as she used her hair to bring everyone into a group hug. She then asked Buckaroo, "Say, Buckaroo, will you come too? I could sure a little inside help." Buckaroo shuffled her feet as she said, "Gosh, Holly, ay would, but ya know that ay don't partake in romance. Ay'm a wild, lone bachelorette, ayn' ay ain't ready ta settle with ayy guy yet." Holly then held Buckaroo's hand as she pleaded, "Please, Buckaroo. It would really help if my wing troll were there ta provide some support." Buckaroo couldn't say no to her best friend as she sighed before saying, "Even if ay wanted ta Holls, ayn' that's ayy big if, who would wanna go out with me"? Aggie got another great idea as she said, "Give me a moment," as she flew on top of a mushroom and let out a loud "Yodele-hee-hoo"! She brought her hand up to her ear and listened carefully until a loud yodeling session responded to her call. In the blink of an eye, the Yodelers, Hickory, and his brother Dickory came out of the bushes as Aggie came forward, saying, "Hickory! Dickory! It's great to see you guys again! I see you both seem to be doing well." Hickory nodded and said, "Yah! Dickory ahnd I hafe been doing fery vell! Der ahlps seem to be bearing a louder echo efery time ve yodel." Dickory added, "Ve are lucky zat not a lot of afalanches occur around ziss time! So, vhat brings you to summon us for"? Aggie started to explain, "See, we're helping Holly tell Gust how she feels by setting her up on a date with him, but she's a little nervous. So, Laguna, McJagger, Trollex, and I, are going to "accompany" them on a secret triple date. Or a quadruple date if you both are willing to unite and disguise as a country troll again so Buckaroo can have a partner and sit with Gust and Holly"?
Buckaroo looked at Hickory and Dickory as she asked, "How in tarnashun will that work"? Hickory explained, "Vell, it's simple. I take der front ahnd my brother ahcts ahs der behind," as Dickory added, "Vhich may I point out is not der most "ahppealing" job." Aggie then asked, "So, are you guys up for the task"? Hickory and Dickory looked at one another before Hickory said, "I don't know. I mean, it's been a vhile since ve'fe done it," as Dickory added, "I don't know either. Only because I hafe seferal consideration against ahcting ahs a behind again." Aggie then got a great idea as she said, "If you guys do this, I'll treat you later to some homemade flavor berry strudel. I've been learning how to bake foreign treats, and so far, my strudels are to fawn over." Hickory and Dickory perked up at the opportunity to try Aggie's strudel as both brothers said happily, "Ve're in"! Buckaroo facepalmed and silently muttered, "How do ay get myself into situations like this"? Holly smiled as she stated, "Thanks, y'all! Ay'm gonna go ask Gust and see if he's available tonaheet"! Holly galloped as fast she could to Country Corral and soon ran into Gust, who was on his daily rounds. she approached him, saying, "Howdy, Gust." Gust tipped his hat and said, "Howdy, Holly. What's up"? Holly took a deep breath and then slowly asked, "Well, ay was wondering if you had any plans tonaheet"? Gust thought about it before saying, "Nawht that ay can think of. Why"? Holly smiled and then asked, "Ay was wondering if ya wanted ta come with me to this restaurant in Vibe City tonight. Does that sound ok"? Gust smiled and nodded, saying, "Sure thing, Holly. How about 6"? Holly nodded as the fun sheriff tipped his hat before walking away, leaving Holly to start dancing excitedly. When Gust turned around, Holly acted cool, leaning against a post, saying, "Can't wait," while Gust smiled and walked away again.
Once he was gone, Holly squealed in excitement as she galloped to tell her friends. Several hours later, in Vibe City, Holly Darling and Gust walked down the street with Buckaroo and Hickory, wearing his Country Troll costume from the world tour. Gust looked around while saying, "Hoo-doggy, Vibe City is so wondrous"! Holly nodded and said, "Yep! With its bright colors ayn' unique shapes, it's ayy sight faw the eyes"! Gust then looked over at Hickory, saying, "Ayn' it's great ta see ya again, Hickory. Haven't seen ya around Lonesome Flats since the world tour incident. Where'd ya go"? Hickory chuckled and responded in his country accent, "Well, after ever'thing that went down, ay decided ta travel ayy little, ayn' see the world. Experience other forms of music. Ay enjoy a-yodelin', and ay've developed a hankerin' faw Country, but a-seein' other forms of music have really opened my eyes." Gust then looked at Hickory and Buckaroo before asking, "So, how long have ya both been together"? Buckaroo blushed and tipped her hat down and covered her eyes, saying, "We're only friends, Gust," as Gickory then replied, "But y'all never know," before winking at Holly, who stifled her increasing laughter. Soon, they made it to the huge, star-themed restaurant, which had a large, glowing sign that said, "Vibe Venue." Gust did not know that trailing behind them was Aggie, Trollex, McJagger, and Laguna, who were following the group. As the country couples entered the restaurant, an employee led them to a table, where both "couples" sat down, Holly and Gust on the left, and Buckaroo and Hickory on the right. After they had gotten settled in, Aggie's group were led to a table behind them, Aggie and Trollex on the right, McJagger, and Laguna on the left.
As everyone in holly's table looked at the menus and were looking at what to pick, Buckaroo started a conversation, saying, "Ya know, guys, ay haven't been to a fancy place like this in an awfully long time. How about you, guys"? Hickory tipped his hat and said, "Well, ay reckon the last time ay went to a fancy restaurant was back home, where the only things really fancy are the napkins." Everyone broke into laughter as Gust then said, "Ay like your humor, Hickory." Holly then decided to ask Gust something as she asked, "So, Gust, what made ya decide to become a fun sheriff anyways"? Gust smiled and said, "Well, it dates back ta when ay was just a youngin'. " As Holly listened, Aggie and her friends started to listen as well, with Trollex whispering, "So, how is this going to work anyways"? Aggie whispered back, "Well, we're going to listen in and provide Holly some extra support to take that first step into talking to Gust and admitting her feelings." McJapper stretched his neck above the tall chair and looked over, saying, "Seems like so far, Gust is telling them a story, and Holly seems to be really intrigued. should we start our secret "aid"? Aggie nodded and waited for Gust to finish telling his story as Holly said in admiration, "Wow, Gust! You are such ayy brave ayn' carin' troll. Makes ys wonduurr if someday, anyone might wanna be with ya." Gust chuckled as he said, "Maybe, but it has ta be the right troll. You can't just find someone and fall in love willy-nilly. It's like a game of chess. It requires strategy and knowing the right moves."
Aggie then whispered, "Have anyone in mind," as Holly turned her head to see who was whispering before asking, "So, does anyone have ayy troll in mind for...you know...when that day comes"? Everyone thought for a minute as hickory said, "Well, ay don't know about Dickory, but ay know that ay'm not ready just yet. Besides, being too focused on romance can make our jobs as bounty hunters ayy little difficult, unless the troll we end up with ken "keep up" if y'all catchy my drift." Buckaroo placed her hands behind her head while saying, "Like ay mentioned befawe, ay ain't ready faw ayy relationship. Besides, naw offense ta any ov the trolls back home, but honestly, guys, romantically, don't interest me. I mean, it's nawht ta say that it won't stay that way, but ay rather have ayy friend or ayy partner in business, like Aggie, than have ayy romantic partner. How about you, Gust"? Holly watched in nervousness as Gust thought deeply before his gut rumbled. Gust listened for a minute before saying, "Well, right now, the only thing on my mind is getting something ta eat. Let's order some food; ay'm starvin'." Holly seemed a little bit disappointed as Aggie quietly snapped her fingers, saying, "Drats. We need another idea, guys." Laguna was looking at the menu before spotting something of interest, saying, "They serve spaghetti here"? McJagger nodded, saying, "That's right. Vibe Venue has a huge menu filled with delicacies from all over the world." Trollex then got a great idea as he peeked over and whispered silently, "Spaghetti." As Trollex sat back down, Gust perked his head up, wondering where that voice came from before shrugging his shoulders.
He looked at the spaghetti on the menu and smiled before saying, "Ooh! This looks good, but it does seem mighty large. Ay don't think ay can eat that all by myself." Holly noticed and then got a great idea as she suggested, "Hey, Gust. If it's alright, why don't we share the spaghetti? That way, you won't have ta eat such a large plate alone." Gust liked that idea as he said, "Great idea, Holly. Ay'd be happy ta share my food with ya." Holly beamed from ear to ear as Buckaroo and Hickory both smiled in success, giving each other a thumbs up. When the waitress arrived, the country couples placed their orders and gave the menu to her after the waitresses wrote their orders down before leaving. Trollex gave a thumbs up to his group in success as MsJagger kissed Laguna on the cheek while saying, "That was genius, suggesting the spaghetti. What gave you that idea anyways"? Laguna blushed and replied, "Well, it was one of the first items I saw on the menu, but I'm glad that it helped bring upon another opportunity for Holly and Gust to elope. Then, another waiter came by, and the group placed their orders while listening to holly's group. Holly, Gust, Buckaroo, and hickory's orders came out and were ready to eat Minutes later. Buckaroo ordered a salad with a light dressing, Hickory got mac and cheese alfredo, and Holly and Gust got a huge tray of spaghetti and meatballs. With their orders in front of them, they all started to dig in and eat, while Aggie watched the best she could from her seat. Holly and Gust slurped up some of the noodles and seemed to be enjoying it. Then, Aggie noticed something as Gust took another bite. One noodle seemed to be really long, and Holly seemed to have gotten a short noodle. In reality, both got the same noodle and were slurping it up and coming close to each other.
Trollex popped his head to see as Holly and Gust's heads came closer, and before they could fully suck on the long noodle, they accidentally locked lips, making both country trolls blush. Aggie and Trollex had huge smiles on their faces as Laguna and McJagger got up to see and smiled in amusement. Seeing that Holly and Gust were about to separate, Aggie's group returned to their seats quietly as Holly said while blushing, "Wow. That was...a little unexpected." Gust was also blushing as he tipped his hat while saying, "A little...but was also very enjoyable." He then tapped a meatball with his fork and rolled it over to Holly's side of the plate, saying, "Y'all want the last meatball"? Holly nodded as she used her fork and splitter it in half, saying, "But ay think it's better if we share it." Gust's blush grew as he and Holly used their forks to take their respective halves of the meatball and ate it in content. Aggie, Trollex, McJagger, and Laguna all awed at the romantic sight before covering their mouths, realizing that they were a bit too loud. Gust perked his head up and asked,d "Did any troll hear that," as Buckaroo made an excuse, saying, "Probably some passerby gazing upon your romantic moment with what ay'm hopin' is your new girlfriend"? Gust seemed to buy it as he and Holly looked at one another while blushing as Gust then said romantically, "Well, maybe Buckaroo's right. After all, we do seem ta make ayy compatible pair. Y'all care about the well-being of other trolls, just like ay does." Holly's cheeks flushed pink as she said, "Yeah. In ayy way, we do seem ta go well together, like vanilla, strawberry, and BBQ sauce ta make tasty ice cream jerky."
McJagger had a weirded out expression as he whispered, "What's ice cream jerky," as Aggie whispered back, "It's something the country trolls like to eat." After everyone had finished eating and spent another few minutes talking, they got up and left the restaurant. Buckaroo and Hickory looked at one another and decided to let Holly and Gust walk home by themselves so they both could have a romantic moment. Buckaroo and Hickory both pretended to fall behind and joined Aggie and the rest of her friends. Meanwhile, Holly and Gust kept strolling as Holly then realized that now was the time to tell him. She took a deep breath and said, "Gust, ay need ta tell ya something. Something vital." Gust held her hand and said, "Y'all ken tell me anything, Holly." Holly worked up her courage and said, "Gust Tumbleweed, I...I like ya. more than ayy friend. Ay...ay love you. Ay've loved ya faw some time now, but ay was so nervous ta tell ya because...ay was afraid that ya didn't feel the same." Gust was a bit stunned as he said, "Wow...Holly. Ay...ay'm ayy little speechless. Ay...ay love ya too. If ay'm being honest, ay've had ayy crush on ya faw a while, but like you, ay was nervous ta tell ya because ay was afraid you didn't feel the same." Holly was stunned beyond belief as she smiled, saying, "Oh, Gust, ay'm so happy ya feel the same"! Holly and Gust stopped and shared a hug before Gust spun Holly and tilted her, like in a waltz, and both Country trolls locked lips, doing a proper kiss. They remained in that position for a while until they heard what sounded like cheering. Both country trolls got up and saw Aggie, Laguna, McJagger, Trollex, Buckaroo, Hickory, and Dickory, who had separated from Hickory, cheering, as Hickory, Buckaroo, and Dickory tossed their hats up in the air.
Aggie smiled and said, "Finally! It took you both long enough to hook up"! Buckaroo grinned and said, "Ya both look so cute"! Holly and Gust looked at everyone dumbfoundedly before Gust shrugged and said, "What the hey," as he pulled Holly into another kiss. The Country ambassador was so happy as she wrapped her arms around the back of Gust's head, slightly tipping his hat, so it almost covered his eyes but touched the tip of Holly's nose. Aggie pulled a camera out of her hair and quickly snapped a picture, holding the photo as she said, "Aunt Delta's going to be so excited when she sees this." McJagger walked up to Gust and said, "Congratulations, you two. While we all kind of saw this coming, you both deserve to be with each other." Gust then asked, "Any advice, loverboy? What's it like having a girlfriend"? McJagger wrapped his arm around Laguna while saying, "Well, having a girlfriend's just like being with your friend. The only difference is that with a girlfriend, you have an extraordinary connection that you both tend to and keep the fire of love alive." Laguna chuckled as she then commented, "What McJagger is saying is that dating is just like hanging with friends. So, you have nothing to worry about." Holly smiled as she said, "Either way, ay'm the happiest Country troll alive! Ay'm happy ta be with my great friends, and now, my favorite boyfriend." Gust offered his arm out, saying, "Shall we walk home together, Holly"? Holly placed her arm with Gust's as she replied, "Yeah, we shall," as both Country trolls began the long walk home together. Aggie and her friends followed them, with Trollex saying, "I think this is the start of a beautiful relationship," while Aggie added, "Yeah! Now, all we have to do is find Buckaroo a date," as Buckaroo replied, "Yeah...wait! What," which made everyone break into laughter while the detective sighed and hid her developing blush by tipping her hat lower to cover her eyes and most of her face.
