We have passed the halfway point of Arc 1. Also, because I left my Xbox when I came back to school, I have nothing to do in my free time until further notice, so I'm this story will be updated more frequently. When I get my Xbox back, updating will go back Tuesday, Thursday, and the occasional weekend. One final thing, to clarify, Apple Blood has two versions; Juice and Alcoholic, what Eda gave to Luz in chapter 4 was the alcoholic variety.
Luz opened her eyes and looked around. She noticed that she wasn't in Eda's nest, she wasn't even in the Owl House. She... she wasn't even in the Demon Realm.
"I... I'm home?"
She got out of bed and walked around. She went downstairs and looked around.
"Hello?"
She walked to the kitchen when she heard a voice.
"Mija?" Her mother called.
"Mami!"
She ran into the kitchen with excitement and slight confusion.
"Mami, I have to te-ahhh!"
She fell onto her back when she saw what was in the Kitchen, it wasn't her mother. It was her mother after being petrified.
"M-mami?!"
"Your mother put up one impressive fight."
She looked up and saw Emperor Belos.
"W-what are you doing here?" Luz demanded.
"Don't you remember? After my children failed to over throw me, you agreed to help me conquer the Human Realm. You seemed very excited to rain hellfire and brimstone against those that have done you wrong."
Luz looked down and saw that she was wearing a white dress with a gold Emperor's Coven symbol on it along with a golden crown. She looked at her shoulder and saw a small branding scar that resembled the Emperor's Coven symbol.
"Now, shall we expand our kingdom, Luciana Belos?"
Luz bowed her head.
"Yes... Father."
Luz shot up in Eda's nest with a scream. She got out and ran to the kitchen. She saw Eda and let out sigh of relief.
"Bad dream?" Eda asked.
"You wouldn't believe it." Luz said.
"Try me."
"I woke up back home... a-a-and then I found my mom... petrified in the kitchen. Then Emperor Belos was there, saying that we failed. A-a-and then he said I joined him and called me Luciana Belos."
"Well, uh... welcome to the family?" Eda said, "Sorry, Kid, I don't really know how to cheer someone up. Try and keep focus, we have to stay on track and scout out the castle until we can get in without being noticed. We have less than a week before the day of Unity."'
Luz grabbed her cloak and her knife while Eda grabbed her staff and Coven Guard outfit.
"King! You're in charge until we get back!"
"Weh?" King said, getting woken up.
He instantly went back to sleep and Eda groaned.
"Typical."
Luz and Eda got on the staff and went to the woods that are just out of the castles sight. Eda pulled out binoculars, that she got from the Human Realm, and started looking at the castle.
"Now, we wait and find the perfect spot. According to the letter Lily sent us, the guard rotation should leave us a four minute opening. We just need to find an entrance. Luz, set up a small camp while I scout this place out."
"If you grew up here, then don't you know this stuff?" Luz asked.
"No, ever five years, my dad changes up the guard rotations and where they watch. It's to prevent... well this."
"That's comforting."
"Don't worry kid, we can do this. We have an inside witch, remember that." Eda looked at the nervous look on Luz's face, "Hey, nothing bad will happen."
"You promise?"
"I promise. Now go set up camp."
Luz went to do what she was told and Eda went back to looking for an entrance. Her fake smile left and she sighed. She knows that's a promise she might not be able to keep.
