A chilly breeze blew across the mountaintop. The sun bringing little heat to a place so high it pierced the clouds. At the top of said mountain a being stood at the edge of a cliff; staring out into a sea of clouds. They might have even called the sight beautiful, if they cared for such things.
They stood there contemplating. They had felt a disturbance. They suspected that something they had thought had left the world had returned. Something that could be problematic.
Another being came up behind them. Also looking out at the sea of clouds. Painted yellow by the suns light. Off in the distance grey was forming. The beginning of a storm.
The two stood in silence for some time. Watching the clouds shift and roil below them. Not that it mattered, they were too high up for the weather to be a concern. Then, the new one spoke up.
"I have felt a disturbance, have you felt it too, NORmon?"
The other being stood there, silent, then replied. "Yes, I know what you speak of. I have felt it too, ANDmon."
"Should we be concerned?"
"Maybe, it is too early to tell what has happened."
The other being contemplated that response and replied "Perhaps, but this is a new development, we cannot afford to let our guard down."
"Wise words to be sure. But so far nothing that should cause us to change our course. All is going according to plan, and as long as we keep the prisoner under control we should succeed. The fools below are too busy dealing with the feathers to see the greater threat."
The other being said nothing in response, merely turning around and coming back the way they came. They had to pick their colleagues brain, and having gotten what they wanted, there was no reason to dally around more.
As they walked back, another stronger gust came over the mountainside. A stream of pitch black feathers was caught in the wind. They flew over the cliff out into the sea of clouds. Then they slowly started to fall, through the clouds and into the world below.
In the world below. Another duo, or rather a very confused Dracomon, was also mildy disturbed by the world.
Specifically they were disturbed by the sea of meat that stretched before their eyes.
A very bemused Armadillomon stood next to them.
"So... Does this explain where Sakuttomon got the meat."
"It's growing."
The Armadillomon blinked, that was not the answer they were expecting.
"I mean... yeah, it's growing? Where else would meat come from?"
"Well for starters, not growing from the ground?"
"Why wouldn't meat grow from the ground?"
"Because. Because. It's not normal alright? Meat comes from Animals. Plants grow from the ground, not meat."
"Meat in your world comes from Animalmons?"
"Animals not Animalmons."
"Is that a type of plant?"
"No animals are animals. Some of them actually look a lot like you."
"Whoa... You mean in your world I'd be made of meat? That's so cool... I would eat myself all the time."
"WHAT?"
"Yeah, if I was made of meat, I would never go hungry, I'd be my own snack."
"WHAT NO!?"
"Why not?"
"That's, that's... auto-cannabilism!"
"What's auto-cannabilism?" The Armadillomon said, giving a curious expression.
Wait. Did I say that out aloud?
"Uhhh... You know what, ignore I said anything."
"Ok?"
You know what. Probably better if I never bring this topic up again. Ever. Meat grows here. Don't question it.
With that the two went down the road to the guild.
