Steve walks in the door to the apartment after a mission. He is still in uniform and can't wait to just relax. However, as he walks through, he senses something isn't right. He maintains a ready fighting stance, and he sneaks around checking every room. He slowly opens the last door. Without warning, something hits his chest. He looks down and sees it…a nerf bullet suctioned to his uniform. He cries out as he dramatically falls to the floor, pretending to be dead. You walk into the image of your husband laying on the floor "dead" and your son James in a fort he built holding his nerf gun.

"James, how many times have I told you? If you're going to kill daddy, at least hide the body."

James chuckles, and Steve looks up at you,

"Really (Y/N)? That's what you're worried about?"

"Well, clearly I don't have to teach him how to shoot," referring to the nerf bullet stuck to his chest, which hit precisely over the heart, "he seems to have a natural talent for it."

You give Steve your hand to help him and make yourself and Steve invisible to James, so he isn't grossed out by you and him kissing.

"So, how did the mission go?"

"Easy. How was yours?" nodding towards James.

"OH, it was tough. I barely made it out alive." You both start laughing. James crosses his arms and looks insulted. You look over at him,

"Honey, you know I'm kidding. I had a lot of fun with you." He still looks hurt, "uh-oh, I think someone needs a visit from the tickle monster."

You move towards him, and he tries to run away, but you manage to catch him. It doesn't take long before he is laughing hysterically.

"Daddy! Help me!" James manages to yell as he gets furiously tickled.

"Sorry, kiddo, even I'm not strong enough to save you from the tickle monster. Also, I'm dead, remember? You killed me."

"I sowwy daddy! Poof, you are alive again! Help me pwease!"

"Captain America is here to save the day!"

"OH NO! Not Captain America!" You cry out, pretending to be scared.

He runs over to you and James and scoops him out of your arms. But you will not be defeated that quickly, you start to get up, and Steves runs away while James is laughing and screaming at the same time.

"Run, daddy! The tickle monster is coming!"

You catch up to them and grab them both, the three of you falling into a pile of laughter. But your laughter is interrupted by the doorbell. You all freeze, and Steve looks at you to see if you know who that could be.

"That must be the pizza!"

"PIZZA!" Steve and James say in unison.

You laugh at them as you walk to the door. The boys hear you say 'Come on in,' so they walk over to see why you're letting the pizza guy in the apartment. James rips himself from Steve's head and excitedly runs over.

"Auntie Nat!" He jumps into her arms. "I'm so excited you are the pizza deliverer. Are you staying to play?"

The three adults smile at each other.

"Of course I'm staying! Do you think I would just drop your dinner off and not hang out with my favorite little man?"

James thinks for a second. "NO!" and he clings to her neck as if he wants to make sure she can't leave.

Steve walks over to Nat and gives her a hug. They go to the dining room to have dinner, talking about work, or at least as much as they could with a four-year-old present. You tell Nat about James' deadly aim with a nerf gun.

"Really? So I guess my lessons have been working, huh, James?"

He looks all too proud of himself. Steve stops as he is about to take a bite of pizza.

"Wait, you've been teaching him how to shoot?"

"Yeah, what do you think we do when you leave me to babysit?"

"So, you're saying it's your fault I took a nerf dart to the chest when I got home today?"

"Yup, that's pretty much what I'm saying." She turns to James, "nice shooting, kid." They high-five each other.

Steve does say anything, but it's apparent that he's hatching a plan. You all finish your pizza, and Steve finally goes to change out of his uniform. Natasha, James, and yourself sit watching a movie when he comes back to the living room. Without saying a word, Steve unloads three nerf rounds, one hitting each of you. He has a smug look on his face and is clearly proud. You look at the three nerf bullets and where they are on each of you.

"Not very consistent with your accuracy. I think you could use some lessons from James."

"Oh, come on! I think that was pretty good, for how fast I shot!"

Natasha shakes her head at him.

"Really? Ok, let's see you do better than."

"You sure you can handle getting humiliated in front of your son?"

"Quit stalling already." He says as he throws the nerf gun at her.

Within a second of her having the gun in her hand, she fires three shots straight across Steve's forehead, barely even looking as she did. She throws it back to him as he stands there stunned. James walks over to his father and takes his hand.

"Don't worry, daddy, I can teach you how to shoot better."

This brought a huge smile to Steve's face as he picks his son up and gives him a hug.

"Thank you, buddy." He leans in to whisper in James' ear, "next time Auntie Nat comes over, we'll get her together. Ok?"

"Yeah!"

James pulls one of the darts off Steve's head and sticks it on his own,

"Look, I match daddy now."

Everyone laughs at how adorable that was. Steve looks at the clock and see's that it's already pretty 9:30.

"Uh oh. It looks like it's past someone's bedtime."

"Aw man. Can I stay up for just five more minutes, pwease?"

"Or how about you got get your PJ's on, and I'll come read you two stories?"

"Otay!" He says as he hops down from his arms and runs off to his room.

Steve is about to follow him when Nat stops him.

"Hey, Rogers! Don't think I didn't hear what you whispered to James over there."

"I have no idea what you are talking about."

"Ok, fine, play it that way. But I just want you to know that you can try, but I will be ready for you."

Only slightly nervous, he leaves to go tuck his son into bed and read him the promised two stories. How could life get any better?

Well, your pretty positive things are going to get a lot more interesting really soon.
