Welcome to 2021! I hope you're all safe and happy and healthy. This is the part where I thank you all again for reading this far!

I've been a little distracted the last few days with another project but something popped in my mind so here we go with another chapter! Again, the chapters will be short and updates won't follow a specific schedule but it's still the best way to update this regularly. Hope you enjoy it.

It had been 5 weeks and 4 days since Jack and Kurt's first date and since that time they'd managed to go out a few more times and talked or texted nearly every day. Kurt was settling in to his new job as the Administration Manager of the Cyber Crimes Team and Jack was working on his class' performance for the winter concert. They regularly Skyped their lunch breaks comparing each other's food of choice and had even taken Stephen for ice cream three times. Stephen had taken to their relationship surprisingly easily, just shrugging and telling Kurt "Mr Jack is cool, I'm okay with it". Kurt made sure to only use Jack's requested nickname in the privacy of their homes or in texts. Jack never commented on it but was grateful for Kurt's discretion.

No matter how busy they each got, they stopped managed to keep in contact and both realised every message, conversation, touch and kiss. After their dates they usually ended up at Jack's apartment and although they'd ended up in Jack's bed a couple of times their hands had remained above their clothes. Each man eager to progress their relationship but hesitant for their own reasons, both aware of the potential complications for the other.

It was a Thursday evening and Jack was getting ready for bed. He was looking forward to his date with Kurt the next night to celebrate their 6 weeks as a couple. Jack was brushing his teeth when he heard a familiar knock-knock knock knock knock-knock at the door. It was the coded knock he and Kurt had devised if Kurt wanted to stop by in his way home from work.

Opening the door Jack's smile disappeared as he saw Kurt's tear stained face standing in front of him.

"Jack, I'm so sorry." He whispered. Jack opened his mouth to reply when he felt a sharp pain in his shoulder. He looked up to see a masked figure standing behind Kurt.

"Look who got sloppy. The boss wants a word, Anderson."

Jack's vision went dark and his body dropped to the ground as the tranquilliser took effect.

No-one noticed the unconscious body being put into the trunk of a black SUV and a sobbing man pushed into the back seat at gunpoint. The vehicle drew no attention to itself as it carefully reversed and left the previously safe boundaries of Columbus and took its passengers across the border and into the boundaries of Pittsburgh.

Uh-oh - Jack's in trouble now! Please review and let me know what you think. Unicorns are still hungover from New Years but reviews can make them happy!
