7 years after the Dominion War, 5 years after Voyager's return. Starfleet brings a new ship down the line to keep the peace that has been hanging by a thread throughout the galaxy.

12. Pomp and Circumstance

The Saint Johns had just landed. A few crew members in the shuttlebay but mostly security and a few command level officers. Everyone else from science and engineering was working on getting the ship ready. Oser walked out.

OSER "Captain, USS Arizona, arriving."

A crewman blew the whistle and everyone immediately snapped to attention. Gabriel walked out to a podium set up for this specific ceremony.

GABRIEL "To Captain Alex Gabriel, Stardate 59039.8. You are requested and required to take command of USS Arizona, signed Rear Admiral Samuel J. Carson, Starfleet Command."

The crew clapped.

GABRIEL "Thank you, all. I'll be looking forward to getting to know each of you as we continue on this journey together. I'll have a speech before we launch. Dismissed."

The crew disbanded...no, not the crew. His crew.
