Chapter Eleven: Dwarves, Tamers and Digimon vs Trolls and Fugamon
The group had been traveling for the past few days. They walked around a few trees and some rocks and came upon the ruins of an old house. By the looks of the house, it had been smashed, burned down and pillaged. Gandalf had already gotten off his horse and inspected the house. Jeri had done the same and looked about the house with Calumon in her arms. She looked to the Wizard and asked, "What do you think happened here?"
"I'm getting somewhat of an idea." Gandalf said as he looked about. The rest of the Company stopped in front of the house and Thorin turned his pony to them. He then said, "We'll camp here for the night. Give everyone a chance to rest."
"Uh, thank goodness." Growlmon said as they all stopped. After helping Takato back down to the ground, Growlmon fell face first to the ground, startling a good number of the Company. Bilbo and the Dwarves then watched in amazement as the red dinosaur Digimon began to glow before shrinking down in size. When the light faded, Guilmon was laying on the ground, looking tired as ever. Takato walked up to him and asked, "You all right, boy?"
"Just give me a minute." Guilmon said as he sat up. Takato reached into his pack and pulled out another piece of bread. Guilmon took it from his Tamer's hand and nodded his thanks before taking a bite. Rika got off of Kyubimon and she too reverted back to Renamon. Kili looked to the other Tamers and Digimon and asked, "What do the rest of you look like when you Digivolve?"
"We remember somewhat the descriptions you gave us, but we want to see for ourselves." Gloin added. Henry then said, "Well, if we run into trouble, then you'll be the first to see."
"Speaking of Digivolution…" Kazu pipped up. They looked to him and said, "When we find them, I think it's about high time I got Guardromon to Digivolve into Andromon."
"So he'll be really useful in the next battle?" Impmon asked with a smirk. Kazu nodded and said, "Yes."
Then he ran what Impmon had just said again and snapped, "Hey!"
"I was kind of being serious." Impmon said with a shrug. Thorin shook his head and said, "Enough of this." Turning to his kin he said, "Fili, Kili, you two look after the ponies. Make sure that you stay with them."
"Aye, Thorin." Both brothers said as the Company started to mill about. In the ruined house, Gandalf finished his inspection by saying, "A farmer and his family used to live here."
"What do you think happened to them?" Jeri asked, becoming worried. Gandalf too seemed a bit worried as he and Jeri made their way back out of the ruined house. Thorin then ordered a pair of brothers, "Oin, Gloin. Get us a fire going."
"I can help out with that." Impmon offered and walked with them with Ai and Mako right behind them. Thorin, Rika, Renamon and Ryo joined Gandalf and Jeri when Gandalf said, "I think that it would be wiser for us to move on."
"Huh, why?" Rika asked, feeling a bit confused. Jeri then said, "I don't know exactly why, but I feel as if it might not be a good idea to stay here."
"Me too." Calumon agreed. With a shake of his head he looked worried, "Just look at this place. It doesn't seem fun."
"It doesn't have to be fun." Thorin said, not wanting to hear excuses. Then he said, "It only has to house us for the night."
"Well, seeing as I know that where exactly we are, I have another idea." Gandalf suggested, "We could make for the Hidden Valley."
"I have told you already, Gandalf…" Thorin said with a shake of his head and walked past the Wizard, "I will not go near that place."
"Uh, anyone else missing a few context clues here?" Rika questioned with an arched brow. Renamon then said, "I believe that if we're patient, the answers will be told."
"Come now, Thorin. Be rational." Gandalf argued. He made a few good points by saying, "The Elves could help us on our journey. All of us. We could get food, rest, advice. Enough for all of us."
"Help does sound helpful right now." Calumon agreed with the Wizard. Jeri then added, "It might not hurt to go to them."
"I do not need anything from them." Thorin bitterly said. Gandalf, the Tamers, Renamon and Calumon all looked to the Dwarf prince as he looked back. Gandalf then reminded, "We have a map that we cannot read." Then gesturing to the children and the Digimon he said, "They have friends still missing, plus they are in need of a way back to their world. Lord Elrond could help both quests."
"Help? From an Elf?" Thorin questions as if it were impossible. Then he reminded, "A Dragon goes and attacks Erebor. What help came from the Elves that day?" The group looks to him as he was still bitter about. He brought up another reminder, "Orcs plunder the kingdom of Moria and desecrate our sacred halls."
Looking Gandalf in the eye he said, "The Elves looked on and did nothing about it."
Gandalf, the Digimon and the children knew that Thorin was speaking from bitter memories of all that the Dwarves had lost. They felt sympathy for Thorin and his kin. But Rika then said, "Look, this isn't about what happened back then. This is what's happening now."
"Rika's right." Ryo agreed with her. Thorin heard the two Tamers out when Ryo said, "Maybe the Elves could really help out this time?"
"You all ask me to seek out the aid of the very people who betrayed my grandfather." Thorin's face fell when he remembered losing both of them. It hardened again and said, "Who betrayed my father."
"You are neither of them, Thorin." Gandalf reminded him. The younger members of the Company looked between the Wizard and the Dwarf as Gandalf said in irritation, "I did not give you that map and key for you to hold onto the past."
"I did not know that they were yours to keep." Thorin retaliated with a glare. Gandalf took a deep breath from the Dwarf's stubbornness before sharply turning around and walking off. The children and Digimon looked to the angry Wizard before following after him. Rika looked to Thorin and questioned, "Nice going there, Prince Pouty."
Thorin huffed as she followed after them. The rest of the group had been either tending to the ponies or gathering firewood for the night. Bilbo, the other children and the Digimon noticed the fuming Wizard walking by and the Hobbit asked, "Is everything all right?"
But when he didn't get an answer, Bilbo walked after the Wizard and asked, "Gandalf, where are you going?"
"To seek the company of the only one around here who's got any sense." Gandalf angrily said as he marched towards his horse. It didn't make anything clearer for the group and Bilbo asked, "And whom might that be?"
"Myself, Mr. Baggins!" Gandalf while walking up to his horse. He muttered aloud, "I've had enough of Dwarves for one day."
Rika walked up after him and said, "Don't think you're going anywhere without me."
"And why should I allow you to come along, Ms. Nonaka?" Gandalf questioned and looked to the girl. Rika then said, "Because it wouldn't hurt to have a little help out there."
Gandalf only shook his head and said, "Very well, hurry along then."
"Come on, Renamon." Rika said as she climbed onto her horse. The yellow fox Digimon disappeared out of sight while Ryo quickly got on the back of one too, "I coming with you as well."
"Then you might want to hurry." Rika said as Gandalf started to move off. Thorin came out of the ruined house and said, "Come on, Bombur, we're all hungry."
The rest of the Tamers, Digimon, Dwarves and Bilbo looked to Dwarf prince with uncertain looks. Bilbo looked to Balin and asked, "Are they coming back?"
Balin took a deep breath before shrugging and they all looked after the departing group. The rest of the Tamers watched their two friends go off with the Wizard and Jeri said, "Be safe, you guys."
"They'll be fine. Momentai." Terriermon said, knowing that Rika, Ryo and Renamon could handle themselves. Plus, with Gandalf being a Wizard, their friends had a little more protection. The group could only hope that they would eventually come back.

The sun was starting to set as Gandalf, Rika and Ryo all continued riding over some hills. Even though they were behind him, Rika and Ryo heard Gandalf muttering to himself. They heard 'stubborn' and 'Thorin' every other minute. Ryo then asked, "So… How long until we go back?"
"Until my frustrations have subsided." Gandalf snapped without looking back. Rika arched a brow and said, "So, for a while then."
"Gandalf…" Renamon said, reappearing right next to the Wizard and walked alongside his horse. The Wizard glanced to the yellow fox Digimon and she asked, "I know that Thorin's distrust for the Elves goes back to the loss of the Lonely Mountain, but is there no one else to read the map?"
"Unfortunately, there are too few who read ancient Dwarvish and hardly enough time to go and find them." Gandalf said with a shake of his head. Then he said, "Plus, Lord Elrond could have heard about your missing friends, help you find them and a way back home for you."
"And if he doesn't?" Rika asked as she and Ryo came up next to him. Gandalf had calmed down enough to say, "Then we are no better off than when we started."
The four continued to travel through the country side.

A few hours had passed since Gandalf and the others had left the campsite. Bombur had prepared his stew and Bofur poured up a bowl for everyone. Some of the Dwarves were chattering amongst themselves. Bilbo and the other Tamers and Digimon were starting to worry when their friends didn't come back. Bilbo walked up to the campfire and pointed out, "They've been gone a good long time."
"Who now?" Bofur asked, not paying much attention. Takato looked to the Dwarf and reminded, "Gandalf, Rika, Ryo and Renamon."
"He's a Wizard. He'll do as he chooses to." Bofur said about the Wizard. Henry then said, "And remember, Renamon will help Gandalf protect Rika and Ryo. So, maybe we should relax a little."
"Good point." Takato said as they did make a point. Bofur poured up two more bowls and handed them to Bilbo, "Here, do us a favor. Go and take these to Fili and Kili. They must be hungry by now."
"Uh, fine." Bilbo said and took the bowls. Takato and Guilmon followed after the Hobbit with the former said, "We'll come with you."
"Thank you, Takato." Bilbo said with a nod. Then with another he said, "And you as well, Guilmon."
"No, problem." The red dinosaur Digimon said with a grin. The three walked off while Bombur tried to get more of the stew. Luckily, Bofur saw what he was doing and swatted his hand with the spoon. Then he said, "Stop it. You've had plenty enough as it is."
Bombur sighed and walked off from the kettle. Bilbo, Takato and Guilmon walked through the ruins of the farm and past some of the mounts as they made their way to the brothers. They could hear a few laughs coming from the campfire when Gloin said, "Aye, it's not a bad stew there, Bombur. I've had worse."
"It's pretty good to me too." Kazu could be heard saying. Nori laughed when he said, "Dori could've been the one to cook it, eh."
This caused a few laughs from the group. The three heard the Dwarf in question scoff before saying, "Oh, hilarious."
The three sees that the brothers were on the outskirts of the forest and walked in. Fili and Kili were standing very still and when Bilbo, Takato and Guilmon stood by them, the Hobbit presented the stew to them. But they noticed that both brothers were looking very nervous about something. Bilbo looked between them and asked, "What's the matter?"
"Uh, we're supposed to be looking after the ponies." Kili said, sounding very worried about something. Takato nodded and said, "Right. So what's going on exactly."
"Only we've encountered a slight problem here." Fili said and they all looked to the ponies in the woods. Kili said, "We had sixteen ponies." They were able to count quickly while his brother said, "Now, we're down to fourteen."
The ponies neighed as the five inspected what might have happened to their missing mounts. They moved about the group and Kili said, "Daisy and Bungo are the ones missing."
"Well, that's not good." Bilbo said with a nervous chuckle. They came across an overturned tree and the Hobbit said while pointing a bowl at it, "And that right there is not good at all." Then he suggested, "Um, shouldn't we go and tell Thorin?"
"Sounds like a good idea to me." Takato said as they inspected the downed tree. But Fili shook his head and said, "Uh, no. Let's not worry him just yet." He then said, "As our official burglar," Then gesturing to the other two, "and accompanying help, we thought that you might like to take a look into it."
"I guess." Guilmon said and started to sniff at the downed tree. Bilbo, after thinking it over, then said, "Well, uh… Look, something big uprooted these trees."
"That was our thinking." Fili agreed. Guilmon then added, "What every it was, it smells stinky too."
"I'm surprised that we didn't hear anything." Takato said as he looked at the uprooted trees. He recalled, "We've been here for a while."
"It's a real head scratcher." Kili agreed with him. The ponies and horses continued to neigh from their spots as they kept looking.
"It's something very big, stinks and possibly quite dangerous." Bilbo deduced, becoming nervous. Guilmon took another sniff before catching the scent of something. Looking in a certain direction, the red dinosaur Digimon started growling and it made the others look where he was looking at with pinprick eyes. Fili pointed when he saw something, "Hey. Over there's a light. Come over here."
"Stay down." Kili said as they moved closer to what was going on. They all got down low and moved through the woods. They came to a stop at a log and they could all see the glow of another campfire. The sound of grunting and laughter came from the darkness. Those who didn't know what it was looked to the two Dwarves and Bilbo asked, "What is it?"
"Trolls." Kili said with a slight glare. Guilmon started growling again when the scent. Fili looked to the Tamer and asked, "Can you get him to stop?"
"He must smell something really bad." Takato said before looking to his Digimon partner. He asked, "What is it, boy?"
"I smell a Digimon." Guilmon growled. This did confuse the other four, but it didn't stop the brothers as they leapt over the log and moved in closer. Takato and Guilmon climbed over the log after them with Bilbo following behind. But when he started running after them, Bilbo turned around and grabbed the two bowls of stew. They kept running through the brush but stopped when they heard something stomping by. All five stayed low and out of sight as a Troll, a creature with pale skin, chubby gut and brown loincloth stomped by, not noticing them at all. But they noticed something in the Troll's arms, two more of their ponies were neighing and squirming about in the Troll's grip. Bilbo was horrified when he saw who the ponies were, "He's got a hold of Myrtle and Minty."
Thinking what was going on, Bilbo said, "I think that those trolls are going to eat them. We have to do something quick."
"Like what?" Takato questioned as he didn't know what to do. Kili then said, "Here's the plan," Pushing the three forward he said while taking a bowl of stew from Bilbo, "Mountain Trolls are really slow and very stupid. You three are small enough to get around them."
But Bilbo didn't seem all for it when he said, "No, no."
"It's perfectly safe. We'll be right behind you." Kili reassured them. Then he reminded, "Plus, you're Digimon Tamers, you've handled big foes before."
"True." Takato and Guilmon said seeing as he had a point. Fili then took the other bowl and said, "But if you are in need of assistance, then hoot twice like a barn owl and once like a brown owl."
"Huh?" Takato asked before the three were pushed further away. Bilbo tried to remember, "Twice like a barn ow." Then he shook his head, "Now, twice like a brown- Once like a-"
"You had it right the first time." Guilmon said as they started moving towards the Trolls. But Bilbo was still unsure of the plan and looked back as he asked, "Are you two sure that this is such a good idea?"
But when all three looked to see if the brothers were still there, they were surprised to see that they weren't. Takato then muttered, "So much for being right behind us."
"Come on." Guilmon said and they were on the move again. As they got closer, they heard one of the Trolls say, "Mutton yesterday, mutton today and, blimey, if it don't look like we'll be having mutton again tomorrow."
They were able to sneakily come up on the Troll's campsite. One of the other Trolls said to the first with a lisp, "Quit your griping, Bert.
They peeked over the brush to see three Trolls by their campfire. Two were sitting by the fire while the third placed the ponies into a pen behind them. All three Trolls had pale skins, chubby guts and brown loincloths. The Troll then reassured the one called Bert, "These here ain't sheep. These is fresh nags."
"Oh!" The third Troll complained. With a shake of his head, "I don't like horse. I never have in my life. There's not enough fat on them."
Takato, Guilmon and Bilbo stayed low in the brush before moving on. They were able to hear every word the Trolls were saying when Bert said, "Well, it's better than leathery old farmer. All skin and bone, he was. And I'm still picking bits of him out of me teeth I am."
The three's eyes widened to this, but they had to keep quiet for the time being. But as they moved behind a tree, the third Troll let out a sneeze that landed in the stew pot. The three Trolls looked into the pot and disgusted the three when Bert said, "Well, that's lovely, that is. A floater."
"Oh, it might improve the flavor." The first Troll said, making the three's faces turn green and made them gag like they were going to be sick. Making sure to keep his voice down, Bilbo whispered, "Wait here."
"Okay. Be careful." Takato whispered back. Bilbo then snuck off while Takato and Guilmon kept track of the Hobbit. The Trolls continued to talk as the third then tried to be helpful by saying said, "Oh. There's a lot more where that came from."
The first Troll just rolled his eyes and grabbed a really large potato and started to skin it. Tom snorted as if to give more, but Bert grabbed his fellow Troll by the nose and said, "Oh, no, you don't, Tom!"
"Ow!" Tom yelled as Bert had a good grip on his nose. Bilbo snuck up to the coral holding the captured ponies while Bert shoved Tom and yelled, "Now sit down!"
Tom did just that while Bert did the same. Tom started sneezing again, but this time he reached around and grabbed a large handkerchief and blew into it. Bilbo started to try and untie the nots around the pen, but he wasn't having any luck with it. Bilbo silently groaned in frustration when he couldn't get them undone. He looked and saw that Tom was turning his way. The Hobbit was able to hid and avoided being seen. Takato and Guilmon both tensed a little when they saw Tom look back. Tom then asked, "Well, I do hope that you're gonna gut these nags." He rose from his seat and said, "I don't like the stinky parts.
"Ow!" The Troll shouted when Bert whacked him in the head with the ladle. Bert glared at Tom and said, "I said sit down there."
Tom whimpered as he returned to his spot. The first Troll then complained, "I'm starving here! Are we having horse tonight or what?"
"Shut your cakehole, William." Bert warned. Bilbo turned his head and saw a blade tied to Tom's loincloth. He looked between it and the ropes while Bert said, "You'll eat what I go and give ya."
"How come he's the cook?" William questioned and glanced to Tom. Then he complained, "Everything he makes tastes the same. Everything tastes like chicken."
"Except the chicken." Tom reminded with a half-grin. William nodded and said, "What tastes like fish!"
"I'm just saying," Bert started, "that a little appreciation would be nice."
One of the ponies neighed, making Bert stop his stirring for a second. Then he continued and said what he wished, "Oh. 'Thank you very much, Bert. Lovely stew there, Bert.' How hard is that?"
Bilbo shushed the ponies as he got closer to Tom. Takato and Guilmon remained quiet as they watched their friend. William then said, "How much longer do you think that Fugamon will be gone, eh."
That made Bilbo, Takato and Guilmon's eyes widen to this news. They had not expected any other Digimon to be in Middle-earth. But they could worry about it later as Bilbo moved to set the ponies loose. Bilbo kept moving forward when his hand touched a bone and moved his hand away in silent disgust. Takato and Guilmon gasped when Tom started reaching behind him and Bilbo had to lower himself a little more. Bert looked to the stew and said, "Now it just needs a sprinkle of squirrel dung."
"I really hope that they stop talking about that stew soon." Takato quietly said as he and Guilmon gagged once again. The red dinosaur Digimon nodded and whispered back, "Me too."
Tom finally grabbed onto something, a mug sitting on a rock. But as Bilbo moved closer to the Troll, Bert saw that Tom had the cup and growled a warning, "Here now, that there's my mug of grog."
"Uh, sorry." Tom said with a whimper before setting the mug back down. But Bert whacked him again with the ladle, making Tom cry out in pain, "Ow!"
Bert sat back down and took a sip of the stew with the ladle. He took a moment to observe it and said, "Ooh, that is beautifully balanced, that is."
He brought the ladle of to Tom and Bert said, "Go on and wrap your laughing gear around some of that, eh?"
Tom took a little while Bilbo snuck a lot closer to the Troll. When Tom finished, Bert asked him, "Good there, isn't it?"
Bilbo moved to take the knife from Tom, but the Troll kept moving about. Bert chuckled when he saw that Tom was enjoying the stew. With a proud grin he said, "That's why I'm the cook."
Bilbo started to move the knife, but Tom stood back up and the Hobbit backed up. Tom started scratching his behind, making Bilbo look away in disgust. Tom sat back down while William's gut growled and he said, "Oh, me guts are grumbling. I got to snaffle something right now.
"Flesh, I need flesh." He said as Tom started sneezing again. The Troll reached behind him just as Bilbo started reaching for the knife. The Hobbit gasped when Tom grabbed him by mistake along with the handkerchief and used them both. Tom blew his nose again, but this time on Bilbo as well. Takato and Guilmon both cringed at their friend's misfortune. Tom screamed when he saw what was in his handkerchief and alerted the other two Trolls when he said, "Blimey!"
The two Trolls looked to see what it was while Tom was a little nervous, "Bert. Bert! Look what's done come out of me hooter." He leaned to the cook and said, "It's got arms and legs and everything."
"What is it?" Bert asked as he started moving around. It made Tom even more nervous when Bilbo started moving around, "I don't know. But I don't like the way it wriggles around there."
The Troll dropped Bilbo to the ground and Takato and Guilmon ran from the brush. They knelt down beside their friend and surprised the Trolls. Takato looked to the Hobbit and asked, "You okay."
"I'm fine." Bilbo said as he rose to his feet. But looking up at the three Trolls he said "But we have bigger problems."
"I know that one of 'em's a child of Man." William said pointing to Takato. Then pointing to Guilmon he said, "He's obviously a Digimon of some kind."
Their eyes widened that the Trolls knew a lot more about Digimon. William then pointed his knife at Bilbo and asked, "But what are you, then? An oversized squirrel?"
"I'm a burglar-" Bilbo started but quickly changed his answer, "Uh, Hobbit."
"A burglar Hobbit?" Tom asked, never hearing of such a thing. Hungry still on his mind, William asked, "Can we cook 'em?"
"Not the Digimon, that's for sure." Bert said, knowing what would happen with Guilmon. He looked at Bilbo and Takato and said, "But the other two-"
"We can certainly try!" Tom growled as he tried to grab the three, but Takato, Bilbo and Guilmon quickly moved out of the way. Bert moved in front of the three when they tried to run through the trees, "These two wouldn't make more than a mouthful. Not when their all skin and bone."
He knocked Bilbo back with this ladle and Guilmon responded by getting in front of the Hobbit and growled at him. Takato kept Bilbo close while William came closer and said, "Perhaps there's more of these lads and burglar Hobbits around these parts." He shoved them down while saying, "Might be enough for a pie."
"You stay away from them!" Guilmon shouted and opened his mouth wide. The inside of his mouth glowed before he threw his head forward, "Pyro Sphere!"
A sphere of energy launched from his mouth and William jumped out of the way. The attack flew into the trees before exploding against one. Takato pulled Bilbo onto his feet, "Let's go!"
They all started running, but the Trolls were blocking their way. Bert shouted to Tom, "Grab 'em Tom!"
"They're too quick!" Tom shouted as they were able to get around him. They were able to get past them, but William was able to get ahold of Bilbo's legs. The Hobbit yelped when he was hoisted up, "Right. Come here, you little-"
"Bilbo!" Takato and Guilmon shouted when they saw that their friend was in trouble. But the boy then yelped when Bert got a hold of him by the legs as well. Guilmon growled, and was about to attack but something big leapt out of the bushes and pinned him to the ground. Takato shouted out, "Guilmon!"
"About time you got back." Bert said to the newcomer. Bilbo and Takato looked to see that a creature that looked like a red skinned ogre with long unkept white hair, pointy ears with earrings attached to them. Around its waist it wore a tiger stripe loincloth and had sleeves on its left arm and right leg which further emphasize this resemblance as well as a bracer on its right arm and black belts on its left leg. It carries a large, spiked femur bone as a bludgeon weapon. It carries a large, spiked femur bone as a bludgeon weapon. It has a skull and crossbones on its left arm, metal studs on the knuckles of its left hand, and a scar on the back of its right hand. The Fugamon then said, "Hey, I told you I was going out on patrol.
"And it was that explosion that made em hurry back to you. So you're welcome for caring about you." Fugamon said with a roll of his eyes. William then said, "Enough of this. We need answers." Pointing his blade at his captive he questioned, "Are there any more of you little fellas hiding where you shouldn't be?"
"No. No, there isn't." Bilbo was quick to say, keeping the Company's very close location from them. Even Takato said, "We ain't got nothing to say to you."
"And what do you know, small fry?" Fugamon questioned Guilmon. But Guilmon's response was to glance at the champion level Digimon and growl. But Tom heard the nervousness in Bilbo's voice, walked up to the dangling upside down Hobbit and said, "He's lying." Then glancing to Takato he said, "I bet they both are."
"No, we're not!" Bilbo exclaimed. Tom then suggested, "Hold these twos' toes over the fire."
All three gasped at this dark suggestion. It sounded fun to the four as Tom said, "Make 'em squeal!"
"You want a squeal, then I'll give you a squeal!" A voice said from the trees, "Bada-Boom!"
A fire ball was flung out of the trees and exploded at the four monsters' feet. Tom staggered backwards when Kili came running out of the trees and hacked at Tom's leg with his sword. It caused the Troll to squeal instead while Kili moved in front of him and swung his blade once more. Tom let out another pained cry before falling against a tree. Impmon dropped down from the trees and stood with the Dwarf. Looking to the other two Trolls and the Fugamon Impmon ordered them, "Drop them now!"
"You what?" William questioned with a glare. Kili twirled his sword in his hand before holding it at the ready and repeated, "He said… Drop 'em."
The Troll with the lisp growled at the order. Both Bert and William responded by tossing Bilbo and Takato at the Dwarf. Bilbo, Takato and Impmon yelled when the two were flying through the air. Kili was able to catch Bilbo while Takato crashed into Impmon. Fugamon looked down at the captive Guilmon and raised his bone club to strike him. But before he could, a white blur came flying through spinning, "Terrier Tornado!"
The blur struck Fugamon, knocking him back, before hitting both William and Bert. Both Trolls yelped as they fell backwards and Guilmon sprinted to the other side just as the rest of the Company burst onto the scene with war cries. Even Kazu and Kenta showed up and started chucking rocks or twigs at the Trolls. Thorin struck William's hand with his sword while the other Dwarves engaged against Tom and Bert. Henry ran onto the scene and saw that both Guilmon and Terriermon were facing off against Fugamon. Looking down at his D-Ark, a screen came up and he quickly read, "Fugamon, huh? Champion-level. It's Heavy Swing attack's something that we need to watch out for."
"Let's hurry up and get in fighting shape!" Terriermon shouted before jumping out of the way when Fugamon brought his bone club down. Henry nodded and took out a card. He let the card he had spin through the air before catching it again between his two fingers. Then moving the D-Ark and card into place, he started to slide the card through the slot. Electricity crackled as the card was scanned. Henry's shout echoed when he said, "Digi-Modify!"
The card was fully canned and the data from it was read when the Tamer pulled it out. Terriermon was suddenly enveloped in light when Henry shouted, "Digivolution, activate!"
DIGIVOLUTION
"Terriermon Digivolve to…" Terriermon shouted as he started to undergo the transformation. He was surrounded by a green egg-like construct and it began. His entire being became data as his rookie skin started to peel off. His being grew in size and changed as he was a lot bigger, had green fur that has whisker-like markings on its cheeks, had a pair of D-VI'S 503xx denim jeans strapped firmly by a brown belt, a diamond marking on its forehead under its horn, and his most notable features would be the wears a pair of mini-gun-like gauntlets, "Gargomon!"
The champion level's arrival had caused the fighting to briefly calm down a moment. But it didn't last long when the Trolls tried to make a grab for the Dwarves. But the little creatures were quick to act by swinging their weapons at them. Gargomon stared Fugamon down and said, "Why don't you pick on something your own size, pal."
"With pleasure." Fugamon growled before raising his club into the air. Then throwing it forward he shouted, "Bone Strike!"
Gargomon blocked the attack his mini-gun gauntlets before throwing his right arm forward and unleashed a volley of, "Gargo Laser!"
Fugamon cried out in pain from the blasts and staggered backwards. Guilmon came running up and hit him with Rock Breaker right in the chest. Fugamon once again staggered backwards while Impmon came in from behind and hit him with a Bada Boom. But as much as the attacks hurt him, Fugamon didn't go down.
The Dwarves weren't having much luck against the Trolls. They were able to hit the Trolls with their weapons, but the bigger creatures were able to retaliate by swatting which Dwarf closest to them away. But the Company of Thorin Oakenshield didn't stay down long as they were on their feet and helped their comrades in the attack. Dwalin struck William in the side with a hammer while Thorin hacked at Tom's legs. Bombur came in and whacked the nasally Troll in the side with his weapon. Bofur swung his hammer down hard on Bert's toe, making him roar in pain. Guilmon and Impmon both fired a Pyro Sphere and Bada Boom at Fugamon's feet and made him jump back. But it allowed, Gargomon to jump forward and sock Fugamon in the face with a Bunny Pummel. The monstrous champion level fell backwards but didn't stay down for very long. Bilbo, Takato and Henry made sure to stay out of their friends' way. But Bilbo noticed that Tom's knife had fallen from his side, close to the ponies and an idea struck him. Looking to the boys he said, "Give me a hand."
"Huh?" Both Tamers asked while the Hobbit started to move off. Henry looked to Kazu and Kenta and said, "Cover us."
"You got it." Kazu said with a smirk before chucking another rock that hit Bert in the head. The Troll cried out in pain from the rock, but had his attention on Balin when the Dwarf swung at him with a hammer. Henry and Takato moved after Bilbo towards the ponies. William shouted to the other three, "Get the sacks! Stick them in the sacks!"
"A little busy right now!" Fugamon shouted as he kicked Gargomon away from him. The ponies were neighing with fright from the battle while the boys and Bilbo continued to sneak through the fighting. They had to dodge when a Dwarf came flying their way or duck under a swinging Troll arm. The Dwarves kept slashing or swinging, the Trolls were bashing or grabbing and the Digimon were blasting or biting, in Guilmon's case. Kili slid underneath Tom's legs and slashed at his feet. And when the Troll turned to the Dwarf, Kili stabbed the Troll in the gut with his sword, making Tom scream in pain. Bombur followed up with a swing to the foot with his hammer.
Bilbo and the boys were able to reach the knife and the Hobbit hoisted it up. Then walking over to the coral, Bilbo then said, "Help me guide the ponies out of here."
"Got it." Both Tamers said and they all ducked when Dwalin came flying at them. The Dwarf warrior got back up before raising his axe and running forward into the fight again. Bilbo then started to saw his way through the ropes the blade while the boys were able to watch out when something came their way.
After knocking Fugamon back, Guilmon opened his mouth and prepared another Pyro Sphere attack. But when he threw it at the enemy Digimon, Fugamon was able to move out of the way. The attack hurled through the air before landing in the forest and exploding. Fugamon then raised his bone club and swung it forward and unleashed his Evil Hurricane attack. The miniature cyclone tore up some tree limbs as Guilmon, Gargomon and Impmon ducked down. The three got back up before fighting with Fugamon again.
Thorin slashed at Bert's legs, but the Troll was able to move away from the swing of the sword. It left him vulnerable to an upward swing from Dori's hammer that hit him between the legs. Bert gave a high squeal from the blow and fell back onto his knees. Dwalin came in with a swing of a hammer that busted out a few of Bert's teeth.
Bilbo finished sawing through the ropes of the ponies' coral and it fell away. The Hobbit and the boys all ushered for them to run away. But his actions didn't go unnoticed by William when he turned and saw the escaping ponies. An idea came to the Troll as he rushed up to the three. Bilbo, Takato and Henry all looked to see William coming right at them and the boys picked up a rock each. But before they could throw them, William used his giant fist to knock the boys onto their backs. Bilbo gasped when William grabbed ahold of him.
Tom had gotten ahold of Ori, but Fili came to his rescue with a slash to the Troll's wrist. Ori fell to the ground and Kili rushed to help him, "Come on! Get back up!"
But most of the Company saw what two of the three Trolls were doing. Kazu and Kenta moved amongst them as well. When they all looked, Kili rushed forward with a cry, "Bilbo!"
"Don't!" Thorin said and held his nephew back. William and Bert both had a hold of Bilbo's arms and legs while Fugamon had moved away from the Tamers' Digimon and held Takato and Henry down. William then ordered the Company, "Lay down your arms." Then glancing to Gargomon, "And revert back.
"Or these three gets it." William warned. The Company knew that the Troll was serious. Bilbo, Takato and Henry all looked worried as they looked to their friends. Thorin glared, knowing that they could have taken the Trolls, but didn't want to suffer Gandalf's wrath, decided to comply. The Company looked to their leader before he plunged his sword blade first into the ground. The rest of the Dwarves followed suit and dropped what they had.
Gargomon complied by closing his eyes and light enveloped his form again. When it ended he was once again Terriermon. The three Trolls and Fugamon then began to work on their new meals.

Author's Note: I'm stopping it here because I want to start the next chapter with the rest of the Company. Plus, this is the longest chapter of the whole story. And I do apologize if the fight wasn't that exciting, I promise to do better later on. I look forward to reading your reviews. Be sure to leave a comment either about if I've done something wrong or if you want something specifically to happen. See you next time.
