Rogue was furious. She felt like such an idiot being turned down by Remy like that. Again, she thought they were making progress when she went to find him straight after Henri had told her about the stupid bets going on behind their backs. But no, Remy had set her up to deal with something he wanted handling then ducked out on the one thing she wanted help with. Sure, she might have been up for giving all the thieves a good taste of their own medicine, but still! Remy had agreed to help her and now he was skipping out on said agreement like she feared. She felt like such an idiot being so obviously used like that.
Rogue had convinced herself to the library so she could brood. It was quiet and she was enjoying the isolation.
After a while of being left to sit with her thoughts, someone found her.
"Y' hidin'?" Theo asked as he came upon her in one of the chairs in the library.
Rogue scoffed at that.
"What from?" she asked.
"Heard 'bout y' little meetin'. Y' puttin' every thief here in their place. Y' ain't regrettin' your decision, are y'?" Theo asked.
"Does it look like ah regret it?" Rogue demanded to know, letting her frustration come through.
"Non, I don't reckon y' be scared'a any of em. But I reckon somet'in' be botherin' y'," Theo said.
"So what?" Rogue asked. "What is it y' want Theo?"
"Mon heist got moved forwards t' t'night. I be serious 'bout mon offer last night an' just wanted t' let y' know dat, if y' were still interested, we be leavin' in une heure."
"English," Rogue demanded.
"An hour," Theo corrected.
Rogue stayed quiet, just looking at Theo. When she didn't respond, Theo straightened up.
"If y' wanna come, I be waitin' in de kitchen," he said, beginning to leave.
"Theo," Rogue called after him, feeling somewhat guilty for acting in a huff with him when he'd done nothing wrong.
Theo stopped and turned to look at Rogue.
"'bout last night, ah'm sorrah ya got yelled at the way ya did," she said, coming to remember one of the things she wanted to address last night, but was prevented from by Remy.
Theo snorted.
"Dat just be de way t'ings are," he said.
"Ya tried really hard ta be there for everyone an' it got thrown completely back in ya face. Ah'm sorrah that happened ta ya, an', for what's it's worth, ah'm really greatful ya was there last night," Rogue said.
When Theo cracked a smile, Rogue couldn't help but smile back. She reckoned Theo was a decent fellow. It seemed like he had never lied to her and he hadn't been involved in any of the bets involving her. He was just looking out for her and extending a friendly hand out to her with his offer. An offer that was still greatly playing around Rogue's mind. An offer, she still didn't understand the cons of.
"There be no need t' thank moi, but it be appreshiated. Not every day y' get someone thankin' y' for doin' y' job," Theo said.
There was a moment where Theo's and Rogue's eyes meet and a mutual understanding was passed between them.
"Remember, change y' mind, I'll be waitin'," and with that, Theo left her alone to decide whether she would do the heist or not.
