A Very Morgan Christmas-Ch 14
The next morning when Penelope woke up she was in the bed alone, she reached over and felt Dereks side of the bed and it was still warm so he hadn't been gone long. She smiled and said, "today's Christmas Eve and my anniversary so I better get up and get ready".
She threw the covers back and raised up and as she swung her feet over the side of the bed she was hit with a huge pain that radiated from her stomach all the way around to her back. She winced in pain and said, "what was that"?, the pain quickly subsided and she was able to stand up.
Derek was getting ready to go back upstairs and check on her when she started walking toward him, he said, "GOOD MORNING, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY AND MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE BABY GIRL". She giggled and said, "good morning, happy anniversary and Merry Christmas Eve to you too handsome" as she leaned in and pressed a kiss to his lips.
He rested his forehead against hers and said, "I was just coming to get you for breakfast", she sighed happily and said, "well then lead the way handsome, lead the way". He took her hand in his and led her toward the dining room so they could join the others.
After breakfast Fran said, "so what does everybody want to do today"?, Henry and Jack quickly said, "play in the snowwwwwwww" and their moms laughed and Emily said, "again, aren't you two tired of that yet"?, everybody then laughed as the little boys smiled and said, "nopeeeeeeee" and ran to get ready so they could get back outside.
Derek said, "wellllll I'd like to cuddle with my baby girl today", Penelope smiled and said, "I'd like that too handsome, I'd like that too". Sarah said, "while you two are doing that and the other men are going outside with the boys we need to make cookies and candy don't we momma"?, Fran nodded her head and said, "that we do Sarah, that we do" as they turned and walked from the dining room to the kitchen to get started on their baking.
Penelope wobbled over to the couch and plopped down, Derek grinned as he sat down beside her and handed her a small wrapped gift. She said, "I forgot yours upstairs, let me go and get it", as she started to get up Derek said, "I'll go get it, just tell me where it is".
She smiled and said, "in my suitcase, it's on top of the clothes", he kissed her lips gently and then headed for the stairs. As soon as he was out of sight she was hit with another sharp pain, she winced and grabbed her stomach and said, "easy little one, easyyyyyyy".
Derek walked back downstairs and over to the couch and sat down, he smiled and said, "it was where you said it was gorgeous" causing her to grin. He then watched as she started opening the box and she saw the strand of pearls and said, "ohhhh hotstuff, it's gorgeous".
He said, "the reason this is a small string is their is one pearl for every year that I've been in love with you and then one for this year and every year from now on I'm going to give you a pearl to add to your necklace".
She said, "ohhhh Derek, I love it" as she touched the strand of 10 beads, he said, "I love you so much baby girl and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you". She rested her forehead against his and said, "I can't wait either handsome, I can't wait either.
Derek opened his box and smiled down at the ultrasound photo that was in the box, he pulled it out and said, "hey there little one, my aren't you growing up so big, daddy can't wait to meet you". Penelope smiled as she put her hand on top of his and said, "I can't wait either handsome, the sooner the better I say" and he grinned at her before kissing her lips gently.
By the time the boys came in later that evening the cookies and candy was all done and Derek and Penelope were still snuggled up together on the couch. Reid smiled and said, "happy anniversary guys" as they handed them homemade anniversary cards.
Derek and Penelope thanked their family for the cards and then to end the evening they all watched Penelopes favorite movie, it's a wonderful life. When it was over Derek said, "I know it's early but I'm gonna take her and lay her down".
Fran smiled and said, "she's exhausted honey, being two weeks overdue is hard on a womans body" and Derek nodded his head yes in agreement as he picked her up and carried her toward the stairs that led to their bedroom.
