Andy reached over to smack the annoying alarm clock to cease the noise that it projected throughout the room. She rubbed the sleep out of her eyes, and looked around immediately not being familiar with her surrounding. She looked down down at Robert who was face deep in her neck radiating his breath onto her skin.
All the memories flooded her brain from last night. It brought a smile to her face as she ran her hand through her hair. She looked underneath the sheets to see that she was clad in the t-shirt she had on after her shower yesterday. She didn't remember putting it back on but she was happy that it was there.
She looked at the time which said, 7:23am.
"Shit." She said attempting to wake Robert up realizing that she had hit snooze too many times. The tardy bell for school rings at 8:00am "Sully, wake up." She tried shaking him but no response.
"Robert, get up. We're going to be late."
"Hmm." He groaned.
"Get up, I have a calculus exam." She said and he sighed raising up from her. "Thank you."
She quickly stood and went to take a shower. While she was in there, Sully went into the bathroom also to brush his teeth and wash his face. When he finished he left out to go to his closet. The silence between the two was more comfortable than awkward, it was just very early in the morning for the them.
Getting out of the shower, Andy had completely forgotten about her overnight bag that she had packed after the argument with her mother. She had her uniform and clean underwear in there, but it was in the car.
She quickly came out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel to Robert not being in the room. She figured he was downstairs, so she yelled for him. She had no time to converse right now. She was focused on getting ready as fast as possible. He came to the bottom of the stairs with half of his uniform on, he was not wearing the coat. He looked up at her.
"Can you get my duffle bag from the car?" She asked and he nodded. She heard the door open then close indicating that he went outside. She just sat on the bed and sudden flashbacks from last night took over her body causing her to close her eyes. She bit her lip and crossed her legs at the thought.
"You good?" Robert asked looking at her, putting the bag on the bed. Her eyes shot open and she cleared her throat.
"Uhm... yea" She said as her cheeks turned warm and red. "I'll be out in a minute."
Robert left her going downstairs and she opened her bag and put her underwear on. She put her uniform on quickly and wrapped her wet hair into a bun on top of her head. Andy rushed to grab the bag and go downstairs.
She saw a smoothie that sat for her on the counter with a metal straw in it and she smiled to herself. She rushed to grabbed it and saw him come from around the corner. Checking the time on her watch, her heart started to frantically beat.
7:49am
She saw he had her keys in his hands and she rolled her eyes.
"Phone?" She asked.
"In the car." He said and they headed outside. He got in the driver's seat and she got into the passenger seat. He sat there and looked her.
"Robert, I'm going to be late. If you could drive, that would be great." She said bringing up the seat that he had recline the night before.
"We are going to be late regardless." He said.
"Well, I can't be. I've never been late." She said. "...a-and I have an exam at 8:30." She went on and on talking fast not taking a breath.
"Andy.." He stopped her. "Let's calm down and breathe."
"I can'-"
"Breathe." He said and she looked at him taking a deep much needed breath. "I'll take care of the tarty, but let's talk for a minute."
She knew he was going up the events that occured last night, and she really didn't want to speak on it right now. She dreaded the conversation.
"Can we just go?" She asked slouching down in her seat.
"Nope." He said popping the 'p' "Something's on your mind, you're going to fail the exam if you don't get it off your chest."
Nice choice of words
"Nothing's on my mind but this exam." She said looking out the window.
In reality Andy worried about her stance with Robert. She worried that what he said a few nights ago was true. What if they couldn't go back to being friends after being intimate. What if he didn't want her in that way but also not as a friend anymore.
"Your hand." He said grabbing it ceasing the shaking. "Talk to me."
She finally worked up enough courage to look at him and she could tell he was genuinely worried. She wasn't sad about the situation just confused.
"Can we talk after class?" She said. "I promise, I'll talk."
He hesitated before nodding his head and pulling off in the direction of the school. The entire ride there he never let go of her hand. She enjoyed the gesture which made her feel a little relief.
The two pulled up to the school's student lot and he parked. There were a few people still going in late as they got out of the car. Andy walked in front of Robert trying to make it to class as soon as possible. Maybe her teacher would cut her some slack.
She opened the door and Robert came up behind her, she was about to walk off until he stopped her and pulled her over to the office.
Opening the headmistresses office door, she looked at him and a smile formed on her face.
"Headmistress Kentala."
"Robert, hi. What can I do for you?"
"Um.. Andrea and I had gotten pulled over by the police this morning. I was wondering if you could email Ms. Hinsen and ask her to excuse her tarty. The fault was completely my own." He said.
"Consider it done, anything for you Mr. Sullivan." She said and Robert gave his award winning smile.
"Thank you." He said and closed the door.
"So it's just that easy for you?" Andy said looking up at him and he shrugged. "Thank you though, I'll see you later."
He nodded at her and she speed walked to her class that was on the next floor.
He didn't have an actual class today, he had to tutor two students , so he just went to the library to meet the first one.
He tutors both students in two hours, and the was about to ring. He put his things back into his backpack and left out to meet Andy.
He spotted her going down the hall, so he steered his way through the bodies to get to her unintentionally ignoring the greetings that were being thrown at him. Andy turned around hearing his name be called multiple times and met his eyes. He tilted his head in the direction of an unoccupied science lab, indicating that he wanted her to go in there.
She moved to the room and so did he. She looked around to make sure no one was in there and he propped against a table, sitting his backpack down next to him. Andy walked over to him standing in between his legs and played with her fingers nervously.
"How was the test?" He asked her. She playfully smiled showing all of her teeth and he chuckled. "That good?"
"That good." She stated. "One hundred out of One hundred possible points."
He smiled down at her and grabbed her hands. "What's up?" The sudden change in tones told her that he was ready to talk. Andy looked to the side of the room and put together what she wanted to say before actually saying it.
"Last night." She said trying not to crack a smile thinking of the intimate moment they shared. "Last night... was..."
Andy couldn't find the correct word to describe how her previous night with him had gone.
"I know." He said seriously knowing what she was trying to say. He wrapped her arms around his neck and she had no choice but to look at him.
"I-I just don't know.." She started. "I don't know what it meant, i-it was confusing for me." He listened to her and let her continue. "I remember you saying the other night... you said that there's a certain line that friends have and when you cross it, there is no going back." She sighed and looked down then back up as he nodded.
"Yea." He said engaged in her speech.
"It's either move forward or not talk to the person again." She said trying not to get emotional. She was tired of shedding tears every second of everyday. "and I really don't want to lose you. I can't lose you." He nodded taking everything she had just said in. Andy couldn't imagine her life without Robert intruding every second of it. She knew that he loved her and the other way around. They were best friends though, being in a relationship and being friends are two entirely different things. "So, I'm giving you a choice. We could either forget it happened and try to stay friends, or..." Andy blinked back her tears. "Or we could act like each other never existed"
Just the thought of the last sentence broke her heart into a million pieces causing a single tear to stream down her face.
"It's your choice. I'll respect whatever you choose." She unwrapped her arms from around his neck and stepped back. "I'll give you time to think about it."
As she grabbed her bookbag and tried to walk away, he grabbed her arm bringing her back into his embrace, smashing his lips into hers. She melted into his arms letting the rest of the tears that she held back out.
"I am so glad that you didn't choose one of those." She said pulling away, laughing through her tears.
"'Act like eachother never existed'? type of shit is that?" He asked making her laugh even more. "It hurt." He said laughing along with her.
"Sorry." She said and a wave went over her body. She wasn't sure what is was, but it felt... right.
"I love you, you know that, but a relationship... it's a lot of work Andy." He said lowly. Her head slightly dropped and her smile did too, so he tilted it back up. "It is, you know that. The way we are now, it's not far from one." He said and looked at the sadness in her eyes. "We argue everyday as is."
Andy slowly removed his hand from her face and grabbed her backpack.
"I'm not done." He said pulling her back in. "I want that with you, I do, but we gotta learn how to communicate. You can't shut down every time something is going on." He said touching her waist. "You can't get upset and storm off or any of that." " So let's start now." He said making her eyebrows furrow. "The medicine in your bag hasn't been touched in a few weeks. What's up with that?"
She nervously bit her lip and toyed with the hem of his shirt. "Nothing, I just didn't need it." She said.
"Oh, really?" He asked and she nodded. "Vic told me y'all went to the aquarium last week and you punched a grown ass man for stepping on your toe."
"I didn't punch him, I almost did. She stopped me." She said.
"See." He said chuckling. "If we're doing this, we have to talk to each other, Andy or it won't work."
She looked up at him and nodded.
"I will." She said quietly. "Same goes for you."
"Same goes for me." He said back to her and cracked a smile and leaned down placing a kiss on her lips.
"Okay, let's talk about last night." She said wrapping her arms around his waist. "You do that to just everybody you hook up with?"
He shook his head laughing.
"I'll see you later." He said kissing her lips.
"Mhm." She said enjoying the attention he was giving her. "I'm about to leave."
"You only had one class?" He asked and she nodded. "Okay, are you going back home?"
She rolled her eyes at the fact that she forgot that she and her mother had a fight.
"Yea. I have to face her some time." She said and he nodded placing one last peck on her lips, leaving her to smile. "I'll see you later?"
He nodded and she let go and walked out of the room.
Robert sat back and watched as she walked out.
Okay, this chapter was kind of boring ðŸ˜.
Fun Fact actually really really sad fact: this is actual how my life is, I exaggerated it for the book but, it inspired this lmaoooo...
Also, I just reread all of the previous chapters and cringed at how many times I misused: to, too, and two. I swear I'm not dumb, I just type really fast.
