Another year after Godzilla visit Japan to bring five guys back to Japan.
Godzilla stopped a terrorist group called Red Bamboo.
He fought a giant lobster.
During that year, Godzilla and Mothra mated once a month.
It's nineteen sixty-seven.
On a remote island called Sollgel in the Pacific Ocean, a team of United Nations scientists, led by Tsunezo Kusumi are trying to alter the weather to allow mankind to grow food in unsuitable climates and end world hunger.
As scientists get closer to completing the experiment compound in order to launch the experiment for a test run, they get a strange radio interference that is affecting their equipment.
One day, a plane flies over the island.
A man jumps out of the plane using a parachute.
Kusumi and his assistant, Fujisak investigate the man.
The guy introduce himself as Goro Maki, an investigative reporter, who wants the scoop on the scientists' experiments.
The scientists refuse to tell him about the top secret experiment, but let him stay, on the condition that he helps cook and clean and act as the team's photographer.
Five days later, while exploring the island, he sees a giant praying mantis moving through the jungle around the camp.
Later he finds a beautiful native girl swimming in the water.
He tries to take a photograph of her, but she disappear under the water.
Two days later, the experiment is ready to commence.
Weather Control Capsule on the island begin spraying a cooling gas into the air, while a balloon carrying a Radioactivity Sonde is launched into the atmosphere.
Maki is warn to stay inside, but leaves to search for the native girl to warn her.
The experiment is progressing normally, until radio interference returns and the Radioactivity Sonde detonates in the air, triggering an extreme heat wave, accompanied with severe radiation storms.
After several weeks, the storms cease, and Kusumi and Maki exit the base and begin observing the damage.
They wander across the island and notice the giant mantises have grown huge, which Maki named Kamacuras.
Three Kamacuras appear to chase them.
Soon Godzilla surfaces on the island.
He roars at the Kamacuras, who ignore the two guys and attacks him.
Godzilla kills one in hand to hand combat and burns another with his atomic fire beam.
The last one flies away.
Godzilla bends down to stare at the two guys for a minute before heading for a lake that is red water and hot like a hot tub.
One night, Maki and the scientists catch the native girl stealing one of Maki's shirts, but she escapes.
Maki tracks her down to a cave on the island, but slips and knocks himself unconscious.
When the girl returns to her cave, she holds a knife pointed at him and ask "what are you doing in my cave?"
Maki nervous replies "I just came for my shirt, but you can keep it."
The girl smiles "I'm Saeko Matsumiya, daughter of Japanese scientist who worked on the island and died seven years ago.
Maki brings Saeko to his camp and introduces her to the others.
Godzilla passes by they to check on them.
Kamacuras attacks their camp and destroys it.
Saeko offers the scientists residence in her cave.
A few days later, the scientists come down with a fever that Saeko recognize as Sollgel fever.
Saeko and Maki heads to the lake.
They pass over a valley, which Saeko warns that a giant spider named Kumonga, lives down in the valley.
They reach the lake to see Godzilla resting.
Saeko and Maki collect water from the lake and bring it back to give to the men.
A few days later, scientists get a radio interference again, then hear Godzilla roar.
Maki curious ask "is Godzilla talking to someone?"
Saeko leaves the cave to collect some plants, when Kamacuras chases after her.
Saeko yells for Godzilla to help her, when a giant moth comes to her defense attacking Kamacuras with beams from her antennas.
Kamacuras began a battle with the giant moth.
A rock gets kicked into the valley of Kumonga waking up Kumonga.
The giant moth blast Kamacuras with her energy beams.
Kamacuras flees from the giant moth.
Saeko tries to return to her cave, but is attacked by Kumonga.
Maki sees Saeko and tries to get her to safety, but are cornered by Kumonga, who begins spitting webbing at them.
Maki pulls out his lighter to cut through Kumonga's web.
Maki and Saeko escape to the cave.
Kumonga traps them in the cave.
The giant moth blast Kumonga with energy beams.
Kumonga turns to the giant moth to fight it by bringing it down with its webbing.
The giant moth blast the webbing away.
Saeko and Maki escape the cave through the secret underwater tunnel and setup a radio antenna outside allowing fujisaki to make radio contact with the U.N., who send a rescue submarine.
Maki notice the giant moth fight Kumonga and recognize it as Mothra and says "that must be who Godzilla was talking to."
Kusumi tells the men "we have no hope of escaping the island alive with the monsters roaming around."
Maki replies "Mothra and Godzilla will protect us."
Kusumi ask "you know Mothra?"
Maki replies "yes, she's the Queen of all monsters."
Kamacuras flies overhead, but Kumonga knocks it out of the sky and traps it in webbing.
Kumonga stings Kamacuras and injects it with venom, killing it instantly.
Mothra fires her energy beams at Kumonga again.
Godzilla gets up and follows the chirps of his Queen to see her fight a giant spider and blast Kumonga with his atomic fire beam.
While Godzilla and Mothra fight Kumonga, the scientists escape the island on a raft.
Maki smirks "I told you that you didn't have to worry about the monsters. Mothra taught Godzilla how to interact with us humans.
Godzilla blast Kumonga one last time setting Kumonga ablaze.
Mothra chirps "I'm tried from the battle and I depleted my energy using those energy beams."
Godzilla lowers down and has Mothra climb onto his neck and give her a ride back home.
Saeko started dating Maki after they got back to Tokyo and got married later on.
