Chapter 26
I wish to skip ahead for the moment, after all, one can't know everything at once now can they?
We had our ship repaired and were making a beeline to earth. I have just gotten word that there was an attack on my family about to happen in one earth week. So, needless to explain, he rushed back home.
Gene and I have done all we can on our side, but now, we need to help my family before things get out of hand.
I had upgraded mother's cloaking device she made for me. When I take on my human appearance, I appear like my father Suiryu and elder Garou. "As strange as it is for me to say, the look suits you" Gene said offhandedly as I tested my device.
It allowed me to dress similar to them too. I wore father's martial art pants, and elder's shirt with a golden belt around my waist. "I have to look the part now don't I…" I said with a grin.
But now wasn't the time to gloat on the family resemblance.
I have kept focus on earth and just got word of a strange sound being emitted over the communication devices.
It was driving the family insane by the reports we got from Earth, and it intensified as it went on.
I myself could hear it, as could Gene and most of my crew. It didn't bother us, yet this tone was setting off the family. "Such an unusual discovery…"
"It matters not, Gene do what you can to find and stop the device at once. I will try and ensure the family doesn't harm anyone. It's the last thing they would want on their heads."
He nodded in agreement. "I'll use music to see if I can detect it," Gene was about to get to work but paused. "Lord Boros…" he said. "May I suggest one other thing?"
He told me his idea and I nodded in agreement. Along with myself, there will be a few other crewmembers beamed to earth along with me. However they shall remain on standby.
I gave a nod and called for me to be teleported to earth, Gene got right to work, searching for the probe along with the others.
I must hurry…
#
The moment I arrived, I took it all in, and savored the sights of this world. I did miss it greatly, however I know I am needed in the universe elsewhere.
I paused from my nostalgic thinking when I heard a piercing shriek of pain! I ran to the source of it and froze.
"Luna…"
She was crying, holding her head in pain as she tried to keep people back and away from her. Every piece of glass has been shattered in the area. I suppose my nostalgic thinking had me overlook such an important aspect!
But there was no time to dwell.
Luna had a look of rage in her eyes and she set them on heroes who were trying to help her. She sprinted towards them, ready to lash out until I came and caught her strike!
For a moment the look of rage subsided. Her eyes stared into mine before she began to tear up. "Bory…" she whispered.
I smiled to her, and told Luna to unleash her pain upon me. I could take it and I will withstand it until Gene solves the issue.
She has grown stronger since our last mock battle, her strikes are more accurate, and her power doubled from what it was before. That or the rage she is unleashing has made her that much more powerful. Either way, I took everything she dealt to me. She would continue to fight on until I heard the music…
It was also when I saw the army surround us.
There was a look on her face, the moment she heard the music. "Gene…" she whispered lowly. But her eyes began to show she was no longer in pain.
The sound stopped as she appeared to have relaxed…
BAM!
Specks of her blood came upon my face.
Her smile didn't vanish, yet she fell to her knees and collapsed to the ground before me. "LUNA… LUNA!"
Looking about the army men were smiling. "Got her!"
"SHE WAS IN CONTROL OF HERSELF JUST NOW! WHY DID YOU KILL HER!" I shouted in rage.
But they didn't answer me, but I could hear over their devices, Luna wasn't the only one they have gotten.
One by one, the family of Garou fell. I couldn't reach them in time, and knew I came too late to stop this utter madness.
There was one voice I heard as they spoke of my father. "Suiryu gave us a lot more trouble than anticipated. He was hiding out in an old monster's nest, two of my men have broken arms, and six have broken legs and ribs…"
Wait, father wouldn't have done such a thing… unless there was something worth protecting.
"Gene, track the last signal sent out over the army communications. Where is this monster nest they spoke of…"
He tracked it rather quickly. City D, underground outside of the city.
I just hope I make it there in time…
#
The nest wasn't hard to find, the smell of human blood also helped in my search of it. The army had cleared out after their conquest, yet inside the monster's nest I could hear them.
Heartbeats.
I ventured deep into the cavern, at the same time became aware of the other creatures lurking in the shadows. Along the ground there were bodies of fallen beasts, those who thought it would be simple to attack my father in such a state.
How foolish of them.
Yet as more began to appear out of the shadows, I sent off a pulse of my strength, just enough to get them to back away.
Many quickly turned tail to run, others, merely kept on standby and watched on as I made my way deeper.
I could hear them now, the littlest heartbeats. There was a small cave against the wall that appeared to have just been built up to hide something. I gently cleared away the rock and dirt, only to see them.
Two little ones, sound asleep but looked uncomfortable. "My brothers…" I whispered.
With care, I reached in and retrieved them. They gave a disgruntled sound but remained asleep.
I must get them home.
I turned only to find a legion of monsters, smiling wicked grins as they stared at me like a piece of meat. "The last one caused us trouble, his brood will be enough to pay for the suffering he caused!" one said with a drooling grin.
"You should have stayed in the shadows." I muttered. I took off the cloaking device, they froze once they saw the real me, and I instantly went into my third phase form.
The power I emitted made them fear me, I don't have to tell you this, but even with my arms full, a legion of monsters are nothing more than ants to me!
I did put my cloaking device back on as I returned to the surface. The first thing I thought of was taking my brothers back to the home where I grew up. But, I then realized it may not be the best course of action.
Instead, my plans altered to that of the Association. I have to be certain my brothers are safe and cared for.
Upon arrival, I came to the hero in charge. Zombieman.
He paused the moment our eyes met, he was a little confused but then saw the twins in my arms. "Wait, are these…"
"My mother and father's children yes…"
His look of confusion only grew. "Wait, Boros?" he asked.
I nodded, it was then I saw some new faces enter with Amai Mask. One of them, despite being serpent was carrying two infants himself. I had since left the care of my brothers to Titan.
I do believe I need to end the story here for the time being, there is much more I wish to tell, however I don't believe now is the time to tell it.
Rest assured, this tale is far from over…
