I saw one review about the amount of chapters I'm going to have, even though it wasn't a question, I want to clarify. I am very invested in the story myself, and I know that personally I love the stories that are longer. I am planning on making this a pretty long story, possibly going far into the 5th maybe 6th season. Anyways this is going to be a very interesting chapter and the events in it will continue into the next chapter. Hope y'all enjoy:)

Elena Pov

I told Kol to meet me at my house at about 7 pm. It was weird being back here, in my own home. Jeremy was here now but was planning on leaving the second Kol got here, he said he just can't be here with Kol because of what happened in Denver. I heard the knock at the door and got up to get it.

"Hey" I said with a smile and called for Jeremy to invite him in. When he did, he quickly left out the back door.

I zoned out and Kol filled the silence "So, this is the part where you let me in, so we can have a proper chat." he shifted on his feet. I shook my head " Ah, yea right" I stepped aside with a smile to let him in.

Alaric Pov

I just got Jenna out of the house and over to my old apartment. I told her I would go out to get Chinese food, and stepped outside to text Damon letting him know we were out of the way. I shoved the phone back into my pocket before actually going out to get takeout.

Damon Pov

Ric texted me letting me know they were out of the house and Jeremy said he was on his way to get the white oak stake and Bonnie. The plan was in action, I had Stefan watching Rebekah and I got into my car to get Tyler. We pulled up at the end of the street and and surrounded the house as stealthily as we could.

Kol Pov

I busied myself by playing a video game left on the TV, when Elena rounded the corner " Sorry, I had to dig up the old people alcohol" I smiled and put my controller down.

"See that's the problem with people today, they have no drinking imagination." I smirked at her and she smiled back as she put the bottle down on the counter.

"Turn-of-the-century New Orleans, now they knew how to make a drink." I clicked my finger at her with a smile. I saw a glimmer of curiosity on her face, I chuckled.

"You lived in New Orleans?" she asked with a smile on her face.

"We all did, till Nik drove a dagger through my heart." I said gloomily as her face softened.

She stepped forward "Why what happened?" she said with concern. I felt a twinge of pain in my heart. "I was a different person then...I killed a lot of people in vain, Nik feared Mikael would find us, I suppose it was the easier choice." I finished and I could tell the air was much heavier now.

"You don't have to say anything, darling, just thought you should know" I finished, looking back up at her, surprisingly not seeing any trace of fear. She actually smiled.

" Well I appreciate it...now can you help me make this thing?" she smiles and I move to take the mixer from her.

"I'll go get some ice." she says backing away from the counter, walking over to the fridge. When she opens the door to the freezer I tilt my head and flash over to it, hoping to tease her. When she shuts the freezer she jumps, finally noticing me. She almost dropped the ice, so I swiftly grab the container and our hands touch. I look back up at her and see that we are inches apart. My gaze drifts down to her lips for a moment. I know she caught it. She shakes he head and smiled "Ahh thanks."

Damon Pov

Tyler went around the back to scope it out but I went around to the living room window, I poked my head around the corner of the window to see Kol catch a glass of ice and stand mere inches away from Elena. I clenched my fists. I needed this bastard dead now, more than ever. Before they could spot me, I moved away from the window.

Elena Pov

He hands me a drink and I take a sip. I cough and he puts a hand on my shoulder. I hold up a hand "Ugh I'm good, I swear, it's just...wow."

He chuckles "You sure darling?" he waggles his eyebrows and smirks. I give him a glare and he puts his hands up in mock surrender. He gives me a light smile " So shall we talk about that truce?" he asks.

I nod and motion for us to sit down on the couch. I tell him what I said before, that I don't want anyone else I love to die for the cure, and he tells me about how Silas will bring death upon us all. We agree that we would do our best to drop all things about the cure. I smile and we agree to go back to the mansion and I walk out to the car first, as he forgot his coat.

Damon Pov

Jeremy texted he's here with Bonnie and the stake so me and Tyler move into the back just as Elena walks out of the door. He grabs he jacket as we walk in " Well darlings, I don't believe this is your house." He turns to face us and we gets straight to business and flash him against the wall, pinning him to the wall with wooden stakes. He screamed out in pain, dammit, Elena probably heard that. I see Jeremy around the corner and I yell "Jeremy now!"

Elena Pov

I smiled as I walked over to the car, about to pull the door handle, when I heard it. His scream. My blood ran cold. Everything was now in slow motion. I ran back to my front door, throwing it open and running through my house and into the kitchen. I heard a struggle and more grunts. "Jeremy now!" I heard Damon scream. I ran like hell trying to stop it. I got around the corner to see Jeremy plunge the white oak stake into Kol's heart. I felt the tears already streaming down my face. I looked Kol dead in the eye, seeing the pain in his eyes. I heard the deafening sound of my own scream. "NO, KOL" I ran over to them pushing them away. I was about to reach out to him when I heard his scream of pain. He was on fire. His screams were like poison to me. He flailed in pain pushing over the table and chairs, before falling to the floor. I threw the curtains off the rail, and patted the flames off of him. He stopped moving. I looked into his eyes and there was no light left in them. He was gone. I cried out in pain, feeling his loss dearly. I couldn't breathe I clutched his body with everything I had, reaching out to stroke his hair.

Kol Pov

When they held me back, I thought about Elena. Did she know? Was she part of this? Jeremy came at me but I couldn't move, I was already suffering from multiple stakes protruding from my body. This was the end, I knew it was. I looked up to see Elena staring back at me, tears streaming down her face, I saw the raw pain in her features. When she she screamed it had me convinced that our time together was true. She screamed out for me, pain obvious in her voice. Then we made eye contact, and I said goodbye with my eyes. I felt the burning sensation all over my body, I heard my screams mixing with hers as I fell to the ground. My world went black for seemingly the last time.

I woke from my body, standing up to see Elena cradling my body silent tears dripping down onto my charred face. I lent back down to her face, brushing her hair behind her ear. "Hello darling, I know you can't hear me, but I swear to you, this isn't goodbye, I will find my way back to you. Think of me as your dark knight in shining armor on the other side, watching over you." She looked up, and for a moment I thought she could actually hear me.

Elena Pov

I felt broken. I heard the voices surrounding me, trying to pull me back to sanity. I ignored them and clutched his body closer. I felt a strand of my hair be tucked behind my ear, I looked up and I felt his presence. I knew he was there. "I'm so so sorry" I whimpered.

The moment broke when someone broke the door down. I looked up and saw Klaus, and he saw Kol. He screamed threats that a barely understood. It seemed my friends had a plan, because Jeremy invited him in. I couldn't leave him, but I was ripped away from him and Klaus's face met mine. He was about to bit me I know it.

Kol Pov

When I saw Nik grab Elena and stalled over to him and threw him off of her. It worked, He slammed against the wall and Jeremy dragged her away from my body again as Bonnie did a spell, from what I could tell, it was a containment spell. I watched as they all fled the house. Elena looking like a shell of herself. It was heartbreaking, even though I was the dead man.

Please don't hate me. I was trying to follow canon as much as I could. I couldn't bear to have her help them kill him though. Ghost Kol is going to be a constant in the coming episodes though. Please review, they really make my day:)
