The Losers, after giving Bill time to openly grieve, made their way out of the lair and were near the entranceway to which would lead them towards the Neibolt house's basement.
"Wait," Eddie said as he walked over to the rushing water and stood under it, allowing the vomit to come off.
"How does it feel?" Stan asked.
"Refreshing," Eddie responded halfheartedly as he exited.
The group ascended the rope and were back inside the house, walking outside to a still crisp afternoon day.
"Man, that was—"
"Please, don't say any more," Bev begged Richie to keep shut for just this one time.
"Oh, fine!"
Mike chuckled, "You guys are alright – so, what now?"
"Well, we still have a month of summer to go, and—" Ben said before being cut off by Eddie.
"Only one month! Shit, we've been doing this chasing for much longer than expected."
"Y-yep, we were…" Bill whispered before getting on Silver and started to pedal home.
Before anyone could call out to him, Stan stopped them.
"Let him be – he needs to grieve."
The rest nodded before getting on their respective bikes and pedaled away from the house.
"So, meetup at the quarry tomorrow?"
They all agreed to Ben's plan and went their separate ways, except for Richie, who was following Eddie.
"You coming back home, with me?"
"Why not – figured this may be the last time I see you."
Eddie laughed, "We'll both see."
As they both pedaled slowly, Eddie moved closer towards Richie, causing the teen to become aroused.
"Tell me, do I smell?"
Richie leaned over towards Eddie and gave a good whiff.
"Oh boy! You smell worse than—"
"Okay, thank you. I need a shower."
"You'll need more than that, my good man."
"Like what?" Eddie asked, "All I need is a bar of soap and at least a gallon of shampoo."
"…I'd wager two bars."
"Really? Shit, I must smell bad."
"Like I was trying to say, worse than the inside of your mother's slippers."
"Okay, one, you almost made me puke, and two, they smell like baby powder…ass."
"How would you know?"
"Who do you think applies it?"
"…Oh, you poor thing."
Eddie laughed again, "Don't worry about me, I've lived through way worse."
As the duo saw the Kaspbrak's residence up ahead, Eddie started to panic.
"What are you going to say?"
"…I'll think it up as I go along."
Eddie groaned, "Gee, thanks."
Richie laughed, "You worry way too much – enjoy your shower."
As the boys hopped off their bikes, it was Richie who rang the doorbell, and in a few seconds, Sonia answered, flinging the door open.
"Oh, there you are!"
"Hi, Mom. I need to—"
"Don't say any more, get yourself upstairs to shower and thrown on some clean clothes."
As Eddie made his way inside, Sonia gagged.
"Oh my god, Edward. You smell like high heaven."
"…Yeah…shower, remember?"
Sonia nodded to which Eddie escaped.
"I bet you're wondering what happened?" Richie asked.
"Oh, this ought to be good."
"Well…" Richie froze, unable to come up with a good excuse on the spot.
"Umm…we were playing down the barrens, and—"
"Stop – that's all I need to hear."
Richie nodded, "I promise you Eddie wasn't seriously injured in any way this time."
Sonia sighed, "Well, that's a good thing. Goodbye."
"Wait!"
Before Sonia slammed the door shut, she was alerted by the teen.
"Yes?"
"…Is…is Eddie going to be able to play with us still?"
Sonia deeply sighed, "I mean, I guess so – just as long as you all are careful of his arm."
Richie smiled, "Don't worry, we will."
As the teen hopped onto his bike and started to pedal home, he chuckled.
'I don't think anything is going to top what just happened…'
