First things first HAPPY NEW YEARS! I know, I know I'm a bit late with saying that but I still said it so ha!

Also sorry for the long wait for the next chapter. I have been waiting to type this up and was so excited to however I had to get surgery done to fix my leg. 2020 had a shot still for me back in December when I fell and tore my ACL. Don't do that it really hurts. Anyways I had to get surgery and be on meds for a while (I'm still on some so I'm sorry if my spelling or some of my writing doesn't make sense for a moment it's because I was drowsy) I am going to physical therapy and my leg is also getting better. So much so that I am able to give you the next chapter finally YAY!

Now quick review on what happened last time and because it was a long wait I am definitely going to make this one quick and not go into full detail with an explanation of why ok.

So first we start of in Bakugo's point of view heading to the cafeteria where Serenity and Kirishima are at being friendly and learning about each other since Kirishima declared that they were friends in the chapter before. When Bakugo joins them we learn that Serenity can't read Kanji well but is good with her Hiragana and Katakana (these are the three different forms of writing in Japan google for more info if you want) Kirishima and Bakugo learned that Serenity is German and that she was adopted only a few years ago leading to Kirishima asking why she ended up being an orphan basically. Dude not cool

Serenity Runs from this and into the girls bathroom because that day isn't exactly pleasant for her. When she leaves, she runs into Bakugo who heard her crying when he was walking by. He said he was waiting for her to be done with her pity party which caused her to break down slightly. Bakugo tried to comfort her which is where we learn she doesn't like to be touched by her shoulders, to which Bakugo mistakes for fear. (the only people she really lets touch her shoulders are her parents)

Because of that Serenity decided to take him to the hiding spot she was in a couple days ago that Bakugo almost found her in and tell him that it was PTSD. So in a sense he was right it was fear but for a different reason than what Bakugo initially thought. We learn what happens when people with the curse turn 25, and on her Fathers 25th birthday he had ripped her wings. Not only that we also learn that Serenity's quirk manifested when she was 4, but Ember didn't show up until she was 5, and that she had a fair amount of control over her quirk back then. Though sadly we also learn that her father never told her anything and this was how she learned of the curse. We never got to finish the whole story though because Serenity couldn't say it and instead buried her head into his chest and cried. Surprisingly Bakugo calmed her down enough for class.

Then we are in Serenity's point of view for the rest of the chapter. Kirishima apologized to her and she accepted it as long as he didn't ask her that question again. Then they headed out for training where Kirishima also learned who Serenity's adoptive parents are.

Aizawa has Serenity and Bakugo spar against each other without the use of their quirks to which we learn that Serenity is a very good fighter. She knocked the wind out of Bakugo causing him to fall to his knees, but she lost the fight when she hesitated to punch him in the face. Mainly cause she wasn't expecting him to fall and was planning on hitting his stomach again. Bakugo took advantage of the situation and tripped her then pinned her winning the fight.

Then Kirishima and Bakugo are sparring and Serenity is left talking to Papa Aizawa. She surprises him by asking him to have a family get together and talk about her nightmares, a.k.a. her memories. To which he was proud about and then was surprised again when she asked if Bakugo could come over for it as well.

Chapter 13-I've made it this far

(Serenity's point of view)

Bakugo and Kirishima were still sparring for a bit. Though Kirishima had a slight advantage, being that Bakugo didn't really get a break after you sparred with him, and that Kirishima's quirk was really good for close combat. However, Bakugo seemed to be dogging him way to easily and also guarding himself a bit better just in case he did take some punches. It was 6:45 and I looked towards Papa Aizawa.

"Hey Papa."

"Yes Serenity?" He said giving me his attention for a moment

"I'm gonna go ahead to the house and prepare somethings okay. Could you tell Bakugo to come by when he is done sparring with Kirishima?" I asked, I didn't want anything to stop me this time from telling my parents what had happened. Though I didn't want to be a crying mess either, and there was another thing I needed to explain or well technically she needs to explain to Bakugo. I know my parents haven't told him everything and hopefully it wont be too much of a problem, but its gonna suck and I know I'm gonna have a massive headache.

"You don't want to invite him yourself?" Papa Aizawa looked at me with and eyebrow raised.

"Its not that Papa, its just there is something I need to do before we talk fully."

"As in what Serenity?" he asked a little stern, as if already knowing what I was thinking.

"She needs to explain herself to him to, so he knows exactly what he's gotten into." To this Papa Aizawa grabbed my shoulders making me jump slightly and gave me a stern look. It was more out of worry for me because he knows exactly what I'm talking about.

"Are you sure?" He asked me very seriously. I nodded my head

"Yeah, because if I don't speak up now, I don't know if I'll get the chance later." I said as brave as I could to try and hide that I was scared of something wrong. I didn't want him to see me nervous, and I wanted to at least feel better about myself in some way or another. Papa Aizawa sighed and moved his hands off my shoulders.

"Yeah, I'll tell him. We'll meet you back home."

"Thanks Papa." I hugged him really quick and then left. I left and headed towards my home.

(Bakugo's point of view)

I had just pinned Kirishima and won the second fight.

"HA WHAT DID YOU THINK OF THAT LIZARD!?" I said standing up but saw she wasn't in the gym anymore. 'Where did she go?' I pulled out my phone and noticed that it was 7. 'Aizawa Sensei must have sent her back to her dorm.'

"Sorry Bakugo Serenity left a little bit ago. However, you improved very well after sparring with her. Kirishima you need to work on defending your sides more so when people counter you like that you don't take too much of a hit." Aizawa Sensei said.
"Now it's 7 so that's it for today. You can go back to your dorms." Kirishima and I both nodded and started to leave.
"Hold on Bakugo I have one more thing I need to talk to you about." I sighed and turned to face Aizawa Sensei with an irritated look.

"What now?" I asked but noticed Kirishima stopped as well wondering what was up as well.
"Kirishima, go ahead without me. I'll catch up." To this he nodded and continued to leave the gym.

"Serenity told me that she spoke to you about her past today." So that's what this is about.

"Yeah." I said calming down a bit.

"She also told me she didn't finish telling you because she broke down." I sighed. Stupid Lizard of course spoke to her stupid parents. I was getting a little irritated again.

"Whatever is left she can keep it to herself. I heard enough to know she has been through a lot." I said slightly.

"Its not just that Bakugo. You're the first person she has ever really talked to about this. Why I have no idea, but not even Hizashi nor I know as much as you do."

"Yeah, she told me that. I don't know why she told me about it either."

"Because of this she wants to talk to us now however she wont without you there." So that's what this is about. Why did she need me though? That doesn't make sense.

"Why?"

"Because you were able to calm her down, and she wants to know the mess you have stumbled into."

"What do you mean?"

"I only know a little of it, so I'm learning along with you but it deals with Ember. She also want you to speak with her." This shocked me for a second. What was that idiot lizard thinking?

"And get attacked again, yeah no thanks."

"You won't be attacked again. There are measures be taken to insure that. Hizashi and I will be there as well since I have a feeling there is something that Ember could help us with."

"Tch, so when are we going to have this talk?"

"Tonight."

"Tch." Of course, she chose tonight. Better sooner than later, I guess.

(30min later at the Lizards place)

Aizawa Sensei and I walked through the door to see the lizard walking down the stairs with a few wooden boxes. One that had a red cross on the sides probably indicating first aid and another small thin one.

"Oi Lizard, whats up with that?" I asked wondering. She looked at me and frowned slightly.

"Wow not even a hello?" She asked in a sarcastic manner, causing me to smirk

"Nope." She sighed and then replied

"I am just moving these boxes to the basement."

"Can I ask why?" However, instead of an answer she looked down as if her feet were suddenly interesting.

"You'll find out later…." She mumbled making me strain to hear her. I sighed at that, was later going to be a good thing another fucked up thing? Knowing the Lizards luck, it's probably something fucked up.

"So Bakugo do you mind apple cider?" Hizashi Sensei asked coming from what I assumed was the living room. He looked like an idiot. He was wearing a pink apron with a heart on it and ruffles on the bottom of it over a blue, long sleeved turtleneck and jeans. It was weird seeing him outside of his hero gear.

"I don't mind." I answered sternly.

"Wonderful and what about mochi?" I looked at Aizawa Sensei for a second. What the hell was this a tea party?

"No why?" As soon as I ask Serenity walks back into the room.

"Papa Hizashi always makes my favorites for special talks as a way to keep me in the room." She answered causing Hizashi Sensei to nag her a little.

"Oh, come on Serenity. This is a big step for you sweetheart I just want to make sure you're comfortable before-"

"Don't worry Papa Hizashi, I'll be fine." She cut him off

"Before what?" I asked slightly curious

"You'll find out later, as for now I need to finish our conversation from earlier." She said very sternly. Though the look in her eyes weren't strong enough to fool me. It was the same look she had earlier today when she was talking to me about it earlier. She was scared of talking about it fully.

I never knew she went through something like that. It kind of reminded me of that half and half bastard. However, he never really lost everything because he could get it back and have a life for himself. Lizard was alone probably until Aizawa and Hizashi Sensei adopted her, and even still she hasn't talked about it until today with me. I hope she is ready to do this because I have a ton of questions and I'm not leaving here without the answers to them.

"Alright." I sighed and sat down in a blue armchair and took one of the mugs from the table that were steaming from the apple cider. I also grabbed one of the 4 bowls that had 4 pieces of mochi in them. I drank some of the cider cautiously as Serenity sat down on the green Sofa and her parents sat down on both sides of her.

"So I know you've already heard me say this but I need to catch my parents up on this. I was on the part I hate talking about the most earlier with you so if I'm sorry if I start crying again, but I need to say it so that way you all know why I'm like this…" She was trying her best to sound confident but at the end her voice was leaning more to the quiet side. Making me sigh and glare at her slightly.

"Fine, but you better keep your voice throughout this. I don't want to strain to listen to you Lizard otherwise this would have been pointless." I said irritated at her causing her to look at me shocked for a second. However, she regained her composure a little more determined and nodded her head. I took a bite of mochi. It was Vanilla ice cream mochi. It went well with the cider, I could see why she liked it, but it was a bit sweet for my tastes.

As she spoke about her past and how she was able to control her quirk before Ember showed up, and how her father ripped off her wings. I had to stifle a chuckle as Hizashi hugged Serenity's head and Aizawa placed a hand on her head however not avoiding her fin making her jump and swat away at both of them. She didn't tell them her fin was sensitive and explained that she had learned at lunch.

"Oi Lizard, don't lose track." I snapped slightly interrupting the moment to hear the rest and she looked at me but she wasn't confident this time. She slowly nodded but she didn't speak.

"Serenity?" Aizawa urged her.

"Before he ripped my wings off he…. He…." She started to cry and I softened my look towards her.

"What did he do sweetheart?" Hizashi broke her from her thoughts slightly but not completely.

"Oi!" I snapped causing her to look at me surprised
"I get it, its rough to talk about but you've made it this far Serenity." That was the first time I actually called her, her name to her face. She looked at me shocked for another moment and looked down and cried some more. It irritated me, was she really going to give up here? That idiot lizard.

"I-I *hic* Know." She stuttered as she stared at her hands which were in small fists, she wasn't calming down and her parents were trying to calm her but they weren't doing a good job since they wanted to probably hug her like normal, but they both know that would make it worse so they were just rubbing her arms slightly.
"H-He k-…. *hic* he k-k…" she was stuttering but still trying. 'Come on Serenity just say it already damn it!' I was screaming inside of my head, she was annoying the fuck out of me with those stupid tears. Suddenly she took a deep breath and closed her eyes and curled up into a ball slightly and shouted what she couldn't say earlier.
"HE KILLED HER! *sob* H-he *gasp* HE KILLED MY MOM! I-I *hic* COULDN'T *gasp* SAVE HER!" Everyone froze except for me. I stood up and went directly to her then crouched down to her level. Moving her arms, I made her look at me.

"So, you tried to protect your mom from your father when the curse took over him." She nodded
"You told me earlier that he didn't tell you, you were cursed, and you found out the hard way was this when you learned it." She shook her head.

"N-no *hic* I-I found out *hic* when E-Ember *hic* showed up." I stared at her in shock for a second before leaning to hug her like I did earlier today. She moved out from her curled position and wrapped her arms around me and cried against me. Hizashi and Aizawa Sensei just stared at us for a moment not saying anything until Serenity's crying turned into a sniffling mess.

"T-there is s-s *hic* someone else y-you *hic* need to s-speak *hic* to." She said to me pushing away from me. To this Aizawa and Hizashi Sensei both stood up and headed to the basement.

"Ember correct?" She looked at me surprised I said her curses name, but nodded.

"Y-yeah, *hic* but I-I need to *hic* change first. Go h-help them *hic* d-downstairs please." I sighed with irritation.

"Fine."

"O-one more *hic* thing."

"Yeah?"

"I'm s-sorry in *hic* advance." She said and then went to the stairs up to where I would assume is her room. Or what used to be it since she lives at the dorms as well.

I sighed and went downstairs to see that stupid bin full of ice again with two chains around it though this time instead of 4 and the mask in a corner away from it. Aizawa Sensei was filling a syringe with some clear liquid. Hizashi was putting more ice into the bin and I knew what that was for but the syringe had me a little worried.

"Whats that?" Aizawa Sensei looked at me and sighed.

"It's a paralyzing venom for Serenity." A what?

"WHAT?" I snapped just as serenity came downstairs in her school swimsuit.

"It's so she doesn't attack you." She answered behind me. She had stopped crying and looked like she cleaned her face up a bit. Though she still looked like a mess.

"BUT WHAT ABOUT YOU?" She sighed

"I'll be alright. Its not the first time I've had to do this. Papa Aizawa how much are you giving me this time?" She asked as serious as she could making him look at her with a quirked brow.

"Enough to get you through the night."

"Great." She sighed and then moved to the bin sitting into the ice and grabbing one of the restraints and attaching it to her arm. To say I was pissed was an understatement

"YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THIS TO GET ME TO TALK TO HER! SHE'S SPOKEN BEFORE!"

"Yes but I was in heat then and that was completely different compared to now. If I let her take over now, you'll get hurt and so will they. This is the only way to make sure that she doesn't hurt you guys and will talk to you." She said as she finished putting the restraint on her, and Hizashi Sensei was helping her with her other one.

"How many times have you done this?" I said cooling down slightly still irritated.

"Once. On my 15th birthday. Though it was a lot worse that day. I'm still surprised that I didn't hurt either of those two."

"Tch." I looked at her like she was nuts. Aizawa Sensei went and injected the venom in her arm and she looked at me.

"Now its your turn Bakugo."

"What?" I snapped

"You said I don't have to do this to talk to her. As long as I am wearing my fangs she cant take control unless I'm in heat, and even then its limited. The venom takes 30min to take full affect so you have 30mins to decide."

"Decide? DECIDE WHAT?"

"To talk or leave." I looked at her shocked for a moment.
"You're right I don't have to do this but I feel like I need to. I've made it this far right?" I started at her as she quoted me from earlier. And calmed down.

"Yeah, you stupid lizard." I sighed and knelt down to her level and removed her earrings. Hizashi Sensei gave me the other box that was apparently the case for her fangs and her collar.
"wait I'm removing all of them." She nodded slowly

"Y-yeah. She will have full control and I'll be asleep-ish" He looked at me confused
"Don't ask just get ready okay." She tells me looking at me seriously but her eyes are still telling me she is scared. I sigh and remove her chocker and watched her cautiously.

"Don't make me regret this alright lizard." She smiled at me and then closed her eyes.

"Good luck." She said and then took a deep breath and her scales cover her body. Her horns grew as well and when she opened her eyes again they were no longer gold that I had gotten used to and her sclarea was no longer white. Instead the gold was this weird tinted green that slowly took over her iris and her sclarea was now black

"Well if it isn't the cocky little brat." Ember's voice was deeper than Serenity's but it still sounded similar to her.

"Yeah, yeah and your Ember correct?"

"OH, quick learner I see."

"Yeah now shut it, I have some questions to ask and your gonna answer them understand?"

"And if I say no."

"Do you think you have a choice?"

"Clearly since you just offered me on. However, since I like being the one in control ask every question you want brat. Its not like I can do what I really want to do." She said licking her lips

"Do you know if the person created the curse is still alive?"

"AH my master is very much dead." I growled slightly

"What the hell can she do to break her curse then?" I snapped at her

"Simple, she can do what the rest of her family has done. Die of course."

"NO!" Hizashi snapped causing her to look at him and Aizawa sensei.

"You two again. Why do you stick around her so much when I'm just going to kill you in the end?"

"Because she is our daughter." Aizawa sensei replied calmly

"HA DAUGHTER! What bullshit adoption really is. Calling a cursed child yours when all she will do is hurt you in the end." She started laughing and it irritated the fuck out of me. I slapped her across the face and snapped

"AND FOR WHAT REASON WAS SHE CURSED FOR? WHAT DID SHE EVER DO TO DESERVE THIS!" This shocked her slightly and ticked her off. She looked back at me with a look that could kill

"Her family abused this quirk. Used it for their own greed and selfish needs. She is from the same tree and must be killed like the rest."

"SO WHAT IF HER ANCESTORS USED YOU WRONG! WHEN HAS SHE EVER USED YOU WRONG!?" She did say anything back to me instead she looked down for a moment
"WELL"

"Bakugo I don't think this is going to solve anyth-"

"She hasn't abused it. She hasn't abused me." She looked up again and I saw her eyes were glazed confusing me

"Then why does she have to suffer?"

"Because her family never apologized. The only way she can now is to die herself and find him in the afterlife, however that wont break it now. Nor if she mates with someone and has a child. She won't be able to save them."

"So we just have to count down the days until you take over?" Aizawa asked and she nodded.

"Angel isn't bad, and sure I don't get along with her. I'm not supposed to, but I do try to help her sometimes because I think she can make it."

"What do you mean?" I asked

"I think she can make it to 25 and end this without doing something stupid. However, everything else I can't change. No matter how good she really is."

"What does that mean for us if we are around?" Hizashi asked
"I want to be able to bury my daughter if I need to." With those words she looked sad

"You will die since she loves you and I am ordered to destroy what she loves. As for burying her you wont be able to do that if you survive long enough."

"What do you mean?" Hizashi asked

"We turn back into our element when they reach the age of 25. So if you survive long enough you will only watch her turn into water." Hizashi Sensei collapsed into Aizawa Sensei

"Tch."

"Boy."

"What."

"Why did you call me her quirk?" I looked at her confused

"Isn't that what you are?"

"No. I'm just a curse. I take over her quirk and her control along with her mind, and with every 5 years I grow stronger. These chains won't hold her when she is 20. You better have a back up plan for when that time comes."

"Why are you warning us if you're supposed to kill us one day?" Aizawa sensei asked

"Because she doesn't deserve that pain. I have been with each of her ancestors since this started. Each of them was horrible. Each of them tried to use me for their own selfish needs and abused the birthright they were given, and thought I was just a joke. Never followed the rules and didn't care about who they hurt. Yet Angel here has only ever hurt people by accident, and works hard to stay away from others to keep them safe. Yet you," She looked at me, "You are the first to spark something in her."

"Spark something in her? Like what?"

"For the first time since I was created, I don't know. I was created to reveal in her pain, but when she met you, you make her forget its even there."

"So I make her life better?"

"In a sense, you irritate her to no end but you are also someone she respects and trusts for some odd reason. You make her stronger as well which I never even knew was possible." I smirked slightly

"She annoys me to and I mainly stick around because this guy ordered me to." I pointed to Aizawa Sensei causing ember to chuckle.

"Is that really it?"

"What else would there be?" I asked confused

"Something I cant see." She said confusing everyone but before we could ask any more questions, she closed her eyes and sighed
"I'm tired of this let her take over again so I can sleep." As soon as she said that she slumped over

"HEY!" I snapped, "I WASN'T DONE ASKING QUESTIONS DAMMIT! WAKE UP!" Her eyes opened but they revealed to be Serenity's normal eyes again.

"S-sorry. She doesn't want to s-switch back."

"Serenity." She could barely look at me and looked weak as her scales disappeared and she went back to being herself. I grabbed her choker to put it on her but before I could she collapsed from exhaustion.

"SERENITY!" Her parents yelled and were quickly by her side and holding her undoing her restraints. I quickly put her choker on her along with her earrings, but she didn't wake up. Because of this Aizawa Sensei picked her up and carried her out of there.

"Bakugo follow me." Hizashi Sensei said leading me out of the basement and up to a spare guestroom.
"Rest here for tonight okay, Eraserhead and I will lend you some clothes, bathrooms across the hall."

"Have you guys ever been able to control Ember?" I blurted out suddenly making him look at me with a frown.

"What you saw is the best we can do."

"Tch." I turned my back to him and sighed. I looked at my phone and noticed it was 1100. Thankfully tomorrow we didn't have school

"Thank you Bakugo." I turned around for a moment

"For what?"

"For watching her. Even though I know Aizawa made you, I'm still thankful you help her. So, thank you." I smirked slightly, that annoying lizard isn't all bad at least.

Hizashi gave me some old clothes that used to be Aizawa sensei's and I quickly changed into them and went to sleep wondering if she would be okay tomorrow. No matter how hard I tried to sleep though I couldn't. Not after everything I learned about that stupid Lizard. I kept thinking about her and what Aizawa sensei told me to do the day I first found about her curse. How am I giving you a good life if you're still going to die in the end?
