The Princess Discovery (Part 2)

"Mommy do you think I'll get in?" Sarah asked as Penny drove the car, going to the audition.

"I don't know sweetheart." said Penny while glancing at her daughter. "But you have to give your best when your turn comes okay?" she said.

Sarah nodded. "Can you teach me mommy?" said Penny's daughter.

Penny smiled, "Okay, when they call you in, there will be two or three people sitting on the table. They will ask you to do things like act out a scene or cry or laugh. You have to be able to do this quickly so they'll know that you can act." said Penny.

"I don't think I could cry mommy." Sarah said.

"Well, sometimes it helps when you think of something sad." said Penny. "Remember when you woke up screaming because you had a bad dream?" she asked her daughter.

"Uh huh." said Sarah.

"Well, you cried that night, right?" Penny said.

"It was so scary mommy." said the child.

"I bet it was. Besides that, what else would make you sad?" Penny asked Sarah.

"Well, I get sad when you and daddy fight." she said. "Or when you took Buster away from me." Sarah added.

Penny was touched by what her daughter said. "Okay, if they ask you to cry, just think about those things and I'm sure you'll be able to cry real tears, alright?" she told her daughter.

Sarah nodded. "You're really smart mommy." she said

Penny smiled at her daughter. "Aww, thank you sweetheart. Mommy loves you so much!" she said as she continued to drive towards the audition.

They arrived at the audition, finding almost twenty to thirty kids with their mom or dads waiting for their turn to be called in. Penny grabbed Sarah's hands and led her to the table to have the staff register her daughter for the audition. One staff gave Penny a form to fill up, telling her to return it as soon as possible and wait for her daughter's name to be called. Penny took the form and filled it with Sarah's information, making sure to attach a close up and full-body picture of her daughter before handing it back to the staff by the table.

Penny then took her daughter to join the others, waiting for their turn. She helped her daughter sit down on the chair before sitting down beside another lady with her son, playing with a tablet.

"Hi I'm Penny and this is my daughter Sarah." Penny said waving at the other lady.

"Hello, I'm Laura and this is Richie, my son." said Laura while putting her arm over her son.

"Uh, do you have any idea what we're auditioning for?" asked Penny.

"I heard it was for a toy company or something." Laura said. "Have you guys done something like this before?" she asked Penny.

"Uh yeah, my daughter was about six months old when she got cast for this baby care commercial. You know, baby oils, baby powder, shampoos and stuff." Penny said casually.

"Wow that's so amazing!" Laura said while smiling at Penny's daughter.

"Mommy, I got a TV commercial when I was a baby?" Sarah asked.

"Uh huh, but you were too young to remember sweetie." said Penny.

"How did I do mommy?" asked Sarah.

"You did great back then! The director and producer loved you sweetheart!" said Penny making Sarah smile.

"Really?" asked the child.

"Really honey. You cried for a while but you just lit up the room when your turn came for them to film you." Penny said, leaving out the part where Sarah almost ruined the shoot.

"Maybe because I got your talent for acting mommy." Sarah said, making Penny emotional.

"Aww, thank you sweetheart. You just made me so happy!" Penny said while kissing her daughter.

"Wait, are you an actress?" Laura asked Penny.

"Not anymore." Penny said, giving Laura a weak smile,

Laura looked closely at Penny, trying to recognize her. "You look a little familiar, I just can't seem to figure out where have I seen you before." said Laura.

"I did a TV show called Parker & Ramona for four seasons." Penny said.

It then came to Laura, recognizing Penny. "Right! Now I remember. Why did they end it?" asked Laura.

"The studio decided not to continue the show anymore. They said the ratings were not as good as the first two seasons." said Penny.

"I'm sorry Penny." said Laura, touching Penny's hand.

"It's alright Laura." Penny said.

"So, are you doing anything lately? Maybe a movie or a TV show?" asked Laura.

"No. I decided to stay home and take care of this young lady and her older brother." said Penny.

"Well at least she's following in your footsteps right?" said Laura.

Penny looked at her daughter and smiled. "You're right I guess." she said, touching Sarah's face.

They continued to chat with each other while the kids played with their toys until they heard a staff call out Laura and Richie's names, telling them to follow him into the audition room. Penny turned to her daughter who was playing with her Olaf doll. "Are you ready?" she asked Sarah.

"I guess mommy." said Sarah, looking a little nervous.

Penny hugged her daughter. "Don't be scared sweetheart. I'm sure you'll be able to pull it off." she said, encouraging the young lady.

"You think so?" said Sarah.

"I do sweetheart. Don't worry, I'm gonna be there with you okay?" Penny said.

Sarah nodded. "Okay mommy. I'll do my best." She said.

Penny smiled at her daughter. "That's my girl." she said before kissing her again.

After half an hour and a few more hopefuls being called in, the staff called in Penny and Sarah to come with him inside. Penny quickly grabbed her purse and held Sarah's hand, following the staff into the audition room. The staff then told Penny to stand by the side while telling her daughter to stand in front so the casting staff could get a better look at her under the lights and camera.

Penny saw three people sitting by the table looking at Sarah's file — a lady with thick glasses who's about her age, an older lady with curly hair and a skinny man about the same age as her husband.

Sarah stood in front of them while holding her Olaf doll as Penny stood at the side and nervously looked at her daughter, hoping she would do great.

The lady with the glasses spoke first, adjusting her glasses. "Hi Sarah, my name is Andrea, how are you doing?" asked Andrea.

"Hi, I'm doing okay." Sarah said.

"And who is that with you?" asked Andrea, pointing at her toy.

"This is Olaf, he sleeps with me every night." said Sarah making them laugh a little.

"Hi Sarah, I'm Dolly." said the older lady. "Are you nervous?" she asked.

"A little bit." said Sarah. "I don't know if I could cry real tears." she added, making them all laugh.

The skinny man then spoke. "Hi Sarah, my name is Ned. Why do you think you should cry?" he asked.

"Well, my mommy said that sometimes they ask you to cry in auditions." said Sarah making them smile.

"Don't worry Sarah, we won't ask you to cry today." said Ned making Sarah sigh with relief.

"Ugh thank you so much!" Sarah exclaimed. "You hear that mommy!? They won't ask me to cry and I don't have to think about losing Buster!" she said.

Penny smiled, "That's great sweetheart!" said Penny. "Now don't lose focus, you're still on the clock." she added.

"Oh right!" Sarah said. "I'm sorry." she said to the casting panel.

"It's alright Sarah. I'm guessing Buster is your dog?" asked Dolly.

Sarah nodded. "Uh huh. Buster is a good boy. Me and my brother trained him so he won't pee or poop inside the house." she said.

"That's great. He must be a very smart dog huh?" asked Ned.

Sarah's face lit up. "He's very smart. He would do what you ask of him if you ask him nicely." she said.

The casting panel smiled at how adorable Penny's daughter was. "You are so adorable. Can you sing or dance for us?" asked Andrea.

Sarah nodded. "Okay, but I'm not much of a singer so I'm sorry if I break your ears or something." she said making them all laugh.

"It's alright Sarah, just do your best." said Doily.

"You can do it sweetheart." Penny said, hoping for the best.

"Okay." said Sarah.

Sarah then took a deep breath and started singing Let it Go from the Frozen animated movie while dancing and swinging her Olaf toy. Penny was amazed seeing her daughter give her all in her performance, as the casting panel looked on, mesmerized at how charming and cute Penny's daughter was. Sarah finished singing as the casting panel and a few people in the room applauded her, impressed by her performance. Sarah gave them the loveliest smile and bowed her head while doing a curtsy with her dress, impressing them more.

"Thank you!" Sarah said.

"That was great Sarah! Good job!" said Ned.

"I'm sorry if I hurt your ears." Sarah said,

"It's fine baby girl." Andrea said.

"Okay, I think we're done here." Dolly said. "Thank you Sarah, you can go back to your mommy now." she added.

"Thank you Ms. Dolly." said Sarah before turning around and running to her mother.

Penny lifted her daughter and hugged her tight. "You are so amazing sweetie! I'm so proud of you!" Penny said, kissing Sarah on her cheek. She then put her daughter down and led her out of the audition room while another girl was coming in, being led by her mother for their turn to audition.

"Do you think I got in mommy?" asked Sarah.

"I'm not sure sweetie but at least you gave them your best shot, right?" Penny said, trying to keep her hopes up.

"I was so nervous when they asked me to sing." said Sarah making Penny smile.

"Really? But you were so great back there. And they clapped their hands, which is a good sign." Penny said.

"I guess." said Sarah. "Are we gonna wait to find out mommy?" she asked her mother.

"No sweetie. They'll usually give us a call if we get in or not." Penny said. "Tell you what, why don't we pass by the ice cream shop on the way home?" she said.

Sarah jumped with excitement. "Yay!" she exclaimed as they made their way back to Penny's car when a guy from the audition staff called her name and came running towards them. The staff then leaned over and whispered on Penny's ear as she nodded her head, thanking the staff before he walked back into the audition room.

Penny then grabbed Sarah's hand, leading her to the car and helping her sit down before getting on the driver's seat.

"What did that guy say mommy?" Sarah asked.

Penny turned and smiled at her daughter. "Guess what?" she said winking at her daughter.

Sarah stared at her mother and realized what her mother is trying to tell her. "I got in?" she asked.

Penny nodded. "You got in!" she said as Sarah quickly jumped to hug her mother, crying happy tears. "I'm so proud of you sweetheart!" Penny said kissing her daughter.

"I'm so happy mommy?" Sarah said as Penny wiped off her tears.

"Hey look, you cried real tears!" Penny said making Sarah laugh. "Now what do you say we go to that ice cream place huh?" she said while putting Sarah's seat belt on.

"Mommy I think I deserve more than ice cream now!" said Sarah making Penny laugh.

"You're right. What do you want to eat?" Penny asked her daughter.

"I want pizza bagels and pretzels mommy." said the young lady.

Penny smiled. "Okay, pizza bagels and pretzels it is!" she said before turning the car ignition.

"Then I'll have a big bowl of ice cream with everything in it!" said the child.

"Everything?" Penny asked, amused by how her daughter gets excited at eating out.

"Yes mommy! We're gonna put in some candy sprinkles, M&Ms, marshmallows, chocolate syrup, wafer sticks, Kit-Kats and a cherry on top!" Sarah excitedly said making Penny laugh.

"Sweetie, that seems so much! Are you gonna be able to eat all of it?" she asked the young lady.

"Yes mommy! We need to celebrate right?" she said.

Penny smiled. "Okay sweetheart, we'll get the biggest ice cream and put everything in it!" she said while slowing the car down, driving into the mall entrance.

Later in the afternoon, Penny came through the door holding Sarah's hand.

"We're home!" Penny said as Sarah went directly to the couch to sit and watch TV.

Leonard came from the backyard and immediately went to kiss his wife.

"So? How was the audition?" he asked Penny.

Sarah and Penny looked at each other smiling. "Sweetie, you wanna tell your dad how it went?" she said.

"I got in daddy!" Sarah yelled as Leonard lifted his daughter, showering her with hugs and kisses.

"Oh my god that is so amazing! Congratulations honey!" said Leonard. "Tell me how it went." he added while sitting on the couch and putting Sarah down with Penny sitting beside her husband.

Sarah faced her father. "They made me sing and dance daddy." she said. "I got so nervous but good thing I was able to do it." she added making Leonard laugh.

"Ugh, I wish I was there to see it!" he said as Penny pulled her phone.

"I took a video of it." Penny said giving him her phone.

Leonard pulled his daughter to sit between them as he held the phone while watching the video that Penny took of her daughter's audition. They finished watching while Leonard wiped off the tears in his eyes, happy and proud of his little princess.

He gave his daughter a tight hug while kissing her cheek. "I'm so proud of you honey. You are so amazing!" he said.

"I'm gonna be star daddy." Sarah said making her parents laugh.

"I'm sure you will be honey." he said while taking out his phone.

"What are you doing honey?" Penny asked.

"I'm copying the video onto my phone. I'm gonna post it in my Instagram." he said as he typed on his phone. "So, what else did you and mommy do today?" he asked.

"Mommy took me to the mall and we ate some pizza bagels and pretzels!" Sarah gladly announced. "And then me and mommy went to get some ice cream." she added, making Leonard laugh.

"What flavor did you get?" he asked the young princess.

"Everything daddy. I told the guy there to give me the biggest ice cream they have and put all the flavors in it. I'm telling you daddy, that ice cream is even bigger than my face!" said the child as Penny showed Leonard a picture of Sarah eating at the ice cream place.

"Oh my god! That really is bigger than your face! Did you eat all of it?" he asked Sarah.

"I shared some of it with mommy." said Sarah.

"I think that ice cream can feed a whole classroom." he said making Penny and Sarah laugh.

Sarah shrugged her shoulders. "What can I say daddy, I love ice cream!" she said.

"Well you deserve it honey." he said as William came down the stairs to join them.

"What happened mom?" asked William.

"I'm gonna be a star William!" Sarah quickly said. "And mommy got me a big bowl of ice cream!" she said to her brother.

"What are you gonna do? A TV show or a movie?" he asked his sister.

Sarah turned to Penny, unable to answer her brother. "Mommy what am I gonna do?" she asked making the couple laugh.

"Sweetheart, you're gonna do a toy commercial!" Penny said making Sarah scream.

"Can I keep all the toys mommy?" Sarah asked.

"I'm not sure sweetie. We'll ask them when we start the shoot, okay?" she told her daughter.

"Okay mommy. I hope they let me keep the toys." said Sarah.

"How about you? What did you and your dad do today?" Penny asked her son.

"We went to the comic book store." said William.

"Really? What did you get?" asked Penny.

"Dad bought me the new Dark Knight graphic novel." said William.

"Hmm, that's so generous of him." Penny said, referring to her husband.

Leonard then pulled a piece of paper from under the coffee table and gave it to Penny. "If you saw this then I'm sure you would buy him more than a graphic novel." he said as Penny saw the perfect score on William's test from school.

Penny was surprised and hugged her son, showering him with kisses. "Oh my god this is so wonderful sweetie!" Penny said crying happy tears. "I'm so proud of you!" she added.

"Thanks mom." William said.

"See that honey? I expect you to get perfect scores too when you start going to school. You got that?" Leonard said to his daughter.

"If I do, will you get me some ice cream?" Sarah asked making them all laugh.

"Honey, if you get perfect scores on your test, I'm gonna buy you the ice cream factory!" Leonard jokingly said.

"Really? You're gonna buy the whole ice cream factory?" asked Sarah, amusing her parents and brother.

Leonard kissed his daughter. "Yes honey." he said.

Sarah hugged and kissed her father. "Thank you daddy. You're really the best." she innocently said.

"You're welcome princess." said Leonard.

Sarah faced William. "Big brother, can you teach me math and science and stuff so I can get perfect scores when I go to school?" she asked William.

William patted Sarah on her shoulder. "Sure sis. No problem." he said earning a smile from the young lady and the couple.

Later that night, Leonard entered their bedroom while Penny was combing her hair in front of the dresser. He went to Penny and hugged her from behind, kissing and nibbling her neck, giving her goosebumps.

"Hmm, I think someone is waiting for their reward too huh?" she said teasing Leonard.

"I deserve it right?" Leonard said, giving her a goofy smile.

Penny turned around facing him. "And why would you deserve a reward?" Penny asked giving him an inquisitive look.

"Well, I'm a good and loving husband, I gave you a smart and sweet son and a charming and adorable daughter so I guess I deserve more than a reward!" he said making Penny laugh.

Penny slowly put her hands around his neck while smiling at him. "Hmm, you definitely deserve a reward for that mister!" she said as she started to kiss his lips.

Leonard then gently locked his arms around her while pulling Penny on the bed, loosening her robe along the way.
