They had to sneak Laxus out pretty early, they were both very sleepy when they did so. Laxus fixed the tape on the door and ran back to his room as quickly and quietly as he could. He unlocked the door and walked over to his bed, crashing on top of it. He thought back on the previous night.

He and Cana agreed that if they ever had opposite gender twins they would be named Redmond and Redelle. That was pretty much the last thing he remembered actually talking about. She fell asleep shortly after and he was left awake for about twenty minutes, thinking. Because, unlike Cana, he had thought about the implications of having twins. They would have to be together as adults, they would have to have sex, and even though Laxus wasn't the best when it came to morals he did agree that the idea of having sex after marriage might save a lot of heartbreak later down the line. So if he and Cana were to have twins, they would have to be married.

And for some reason that thought didn't scare the ever living crap out of him.

Laxus often found himself sneering at couples that took things too fast. He had known teenagers who "loved each other" and "were going to be together" after only a few weeks of knowing each other. He had seen too many of those relationships end the exact way he expected them to. But now that he was actually in a relationship with a person he had met literally five days ago, he understood what they meant.

Did he actually believe that he and Cana were going to get married and be together until the day they died? The chances were fifty-fifty. They would or wouldn't. There was no way to tell whether or not their relationship would actually work, that was what dating was for right? But the idea of being with her for the rest of his life didn't scare him or make him feel like he was moving too fast. He loved being around her, he trusted her even though he had only known her for a little bit of time, and despite all of his past experience with girls and relationships, he really, really cared about her and wanted it to work.

For the longest time, Laxus viewed marriage and relationships as what his parents had. Disgusting, full of hatred and spite and more pain than it was worth. His grandpa had tried to beat it out of him and he did to an extent. But Cana had done a number on him. She really had flipped him upside down.

Laxus accepted that he wasn't going to get anymore sleep before he had to head to breakfast in about an hour so he just decided to hop in the shower.

Cana grabbed the skates and rollerblades and shoved them into her bag, opting to carry the skateboard. They just finished lunch and she had gone to her room to grab the items they were going to use to break the rules. Laxus would be waiting for her by the elevator. She had changed into yoga pants and her crop top she had made earlier. She was going to be moving a lot so she put her hair up to. This was going to be a really fun one, she hadn't had the chance to skate in a while.

Cana peaked out the door of her room, making sure no one was around. She didn't know how well everyone knew the rules and if they knew that this was technically breaking them. So she decided to be careful either way. Once she was sure that no one was around she snuck out into the hallway and to the elevators. Laxus was waiting just like he promised.

"Sup loser," Cana greeted.

"Nothing much, just waiting on your late ass."

"Oh come on, I had to be careful! Here, catch."

She tossed him the skateboard so that she could press the down button on the elevator. The doors opened and she stepped inside, Laxus behind her.

"Here, take my coat," Laxus told her as he set the skateboard down to take it off.

"What? Why?"

Cana took it anyway and stuffed it into her bag.

"Cause if I'm going to ride this skateboard then I need to make sure that the coat doesn't get caught in the wheels."

"Okay fine."

They stepped out of the elevator and Cana stopped them to take a seat at a chair.

"What's the hold up," Laxus asked.

"Do you want the skates or the blades," Cana asked, pulling one of each out of the bag.

"Um, neither, I'll stick to the board."

"Well you can do both. Come on, just pick."

Laxus looked flustered and fumbled with an answer.

"Wait a second," Cana interrupted his stammering, "do you not know how to skate?"

"...no."

Cana smiled and started putting on the roller blades. They were a little bit big but she could manage. She should have known that he didn't know when they were picking out sizes for the skates. She had asked what his foot size was for the skates and he said it didn't matter. So she had ended up buying a size more suited to his feet. They had very similar foot sizes apparently.

"Well you're going to learn today," she told him.

"What do you mean?!"

"I'm going to teach you. You can learn on the skates, they're easier for balancing. Less tumbles."

Cana tied up her rollerblades as tight as they would go and then stood up next to him.

"I'm too big, I'll break them," Laxus offered up as a meager excuse, watching her step slowly over to the entrance of the carpeted lobby. Once she was outside, she would be on sidewalk.

"Not true, those skates can handle it," Cana told him, tossing him the bag. She leaned against the door for support.

"Well, I'll fall and be embarrassed."

Cana eyed him. That one was true. It was obvious to her that he didn't want people to see him failing at something as simple as roller skating. Was that the reason why he was so flustered when she asked? She still wanted him to be a part of this one. Skating was super fun. She racked her brain for places that she could teach him that might be a little bit more empty.

"Well, is there a basketball court around here," she asked.

"Yeah, in the recreation center."

"Cool, we'll head over there then. Get on that board and lead the way."

He didn't complain and opened the door for her. Cana stepped out onto the sidewalk and rolled out of the way so that he could step outside too. He flung her bag over his shoulder like a backpack and got on the skateboard, rolling down the concrete ahead of her.

Cana had been worried that she wouldn't be as good at skating as she used to be but the movements came right back to her as if she had never stopped. She kept well in pace with Laxus.

"How are you so good at that," Laxus asked in astonishment. She zipped ahead of him and began rollerblading backwards, surprising him even more.

"The only fun things in my hometown are a mall, a movie theatre and a skating rink. All of my friends' birthday parties in elementary and middle school were at the rink. I got really good at it."

She swerved back to his side, skating next to him on the side that he wasn't pushing off of.

"And were you a skater boy back in the day?"

"Every kid knows how to skateboard to some extent. I can't do any tricks or anything but I have the stamina for it."

"I'll keep that in mind," Cana teased.

They rolled right up to a big glass building that kind of reminded Cana of the gym in her hometown. Laxus hopped off of his skateboard and Cana pushed her foot down to stop. There was a sign on the door with a list of rules for entering. Figures. One of them was no skating inside. And figures, there was a person right there by the door at a desk.

"Are we even allowed in here," Cana asked.

"Yeah, we just have to go in and say we're from the camp. We have unlimited access to everything. There's the basketball court right there," Laxus told her, pointing at the door that led to a court.

"Put me on your back," Cana ordered.

"What?"

"There's no skating allowed so if I go rolling on in there, they'll kick us out. So I'll stay on your back until we get onto the court."

He had to admit that she was pretty smart. He would have never thought about that. He knelt down so she could climb on and he handed her the skateboard to hold. He pushed the door open and walked in. The lady at the desk looked up at him.

"Fairy Tail," he mumbled simply and she nodded and looked away. Laxus made a beeline for the court and pushed the door open, closing it behind him. The court was surrounded by thick brick, the only window into it being on the door. They wouldn't get caught unless someone important came in. Highly unlikely. He set Cana down and she did a big circle around the room, picking up speed.

He watched her move effortlessly, swirling around in circles as she glided across the floor. She rolled right up to him and came skidding to a stop.

"Alright, get your skates on."

"Oh come on."

""Oh come on" yourself! There's no one watching, it's just me."

She took his hand in hers and then rolled backwards, taking his arm with her until she was forced to let go.

"I don't even know how to put them on," Laxus retorted.

"Just like putting on shoes," Cana called from across the court, still rolling around in figure eights and oblong circles. Laxus grumbled in complaint but still found himself putting on the skates anyway. He tied them onto his feet, finding them snug but comfortably so. Now he was faced with another dilemma: How to get up.

He looked up helplessly at Cana who was skating slowly towards him. She stopped and then slowly fell onto her hands and knees. Hot. Maybe this was worth it.

"Okay, so you're going to get into this position."

No longer worth it! No longer worth it!

"And you're going to push yourself so you're sitting on your knees and legs like this."

She did the movement and Laxus copied it.

"Now you're going to bring your dominant leg up like a lunge but leave the other leg down."

He did exactly as she did. With her help he pushed himself up using his knee and within moments he was standing.

"Keep your feet in a "V" shape or you'll slide down. See you're already halfway done."

He was standing. Wobbly, sure but standing nonetheless. It felt just like standing until he leaned too far forward or backward and then he would start slipping. Just as he began sliding, Cana took his hands in her and steadied him.

"Okay, don't stand up straight but bend your knees and lean forward slightly. If you stand too straight you'll go falling backwards."

Laxus looked nervously at her hands and then down at his feet.

"Don't look down," Cana muttered, using her hand to bring his chin up. "Keep your eyes on me. Right here. Just look at me."

It was now that Laxus noticed the beautiful shade of dark brown her eyes were. They were so dark, almost black and it looked like there might even be some flecks of purple in there. He felt his nervousness ebb away a little bit and he felt grounded in the moment.

"Okay, you're going to drop your hips, like this."

She put her hands on his hips and pushed him down a little bit. He was very startled at first but found it moved his center of gravity and helped him balance even better. And her hands were on his hips. Nice.

And then she was suddenly rolling away from him.

"Get your ass back here," Laxus panicked.

"Nope, you're a big boy. You can stand now you have to walk."

Cana turned around so he was looking at her back. Nice.

"You're going to shift your body wait over the foot you're putting forward. Like this."

She showed him and damn that ass.

"Now you," Cana told him. She rolled back up to him and took his hands. She leaned to his right so he put his right foot forward. And he actually moved! "Good job," Cana encouraged. She leaned to the left and he shifted to the left, moving a little more. "You're doing so good!"

She was skating backwards with her hands holding firmly onto his and he was slowly but surely moving forward. And he wasn't even slipping!

"You're pretty good at this," Laxus complimented, his eyes slipping to his feet.

"Eyes on me. And yeah. I mean I'm not like a professional but I have been doing this all my life."

Laxus focused on the movement and on the rhythm the sounds of the skates were creating. It was almost like he was shifting his weight to some music which made everything a lot easier.

"When you need to stop, the brake is in the front of the skate," Cana told him.

"I don't want to stop. I want to keep moving."

"Well buster brown, how do you feel moving on your own?"

Laxus moved his eyes away from hers and saw that she was just barely touching his left hand now. He was doing this practically by himself! He felt proud of himself and the rush of adrenaline that pumped through him gave him a euphoric feeling.

Which them caused him to lose focus and fall.

Cana giggled as he rubbed his ass. She did a little circle around him and then came back to the front of him, instructing him on how to get up. This time, he didn't even reach for her hand. He instead focused on her shape in front of him and set his mind only onto making it there. Just as he began to feel himself slipping again, she caught him with her body, holding him up.

"I've got you, Laxus. You're not going to fall."

She placed his hands on her hips for him to hold onto and then put her hand on his arm and shoulder. She began skating backward, pulling him with her, a little faster than before.

"You're a natural," Cana told him. She didn't need to be loud, their faces were practically touching. "It took me a few months to get this good."

Laxus smirked and opened his mouth to say something.

"Before you get too full of yourself, I was eight when I started skating."

Laxus shut his mouth but he still kept that smirk on his face. They lost track of where they were, Cana instinctively moving them in circles and ovals and shapes along every corner of the basketball court with Laxus just along for the ride. They could feel the movement and how it affected their gravity towards each other. They would move left and Laxus would tighten his grip ever so slightly on Cana's waist. They would in a circle and they could feel their bodies being pulled closer and closer. Their circle getting smaller and smaller. And they were moving faster and faster. Until they stopped. Cana brought them skidding to a halt right in the middle of the court.

She pulled his head down and kissed him right on the mouth. Who knows how long they stood there, together. In their own little world, not caring about who or what would intervene, not knowing whether or not something would come to tear them apart. She pulled away from him and rested her forehead against his.

"You did it."

They had decided that they were done being on wheels for the day. Cana was walking barefoot on the sidewalk next to Laxus on the way back to the dorm, swinging her bag back and forth. He had his coat slung over his shoulders and he was still carrying the skateboard.

"And then, she fell right on her ass," Cana laughed, finishing a really funny story.

"Geez. And to imagine, now you're friends with two old guys!"

"Hey they're like thirty-something."

"You say tomato, I say to-mah-to," Laxus teased.

"Ew you better not!"

"Cana!"

The two turned around to see Makarov and Porlyusica walking towards them. Laxus hid the skateboard quickly behind his back. The two teens got super nervous super quick. They were busted and about to be sent home.

"Cana, we were looking every where for you," Makarov said as they stopped in front of the girl and boy. "Go get your stuff."

"What, why," Cana asked, concerned for real. She didn't want to be sent home. They still had so many rules to break.

"It's your mother. She's here to take you home."
