The next morning was a peaceful one. The sun was shining, it was somewhat quiet, and it was neither too hot nor too cold. Russel was very drunk, as always, but today it was in celebration because JD Hogg and Rosco P. Coltrane were surrendering themselves to Clayton and Russel. Bo and Luke would finally be able to go home.

It was, as of this time, that Bo and Luke were loading the Trans Am with crates. They didn't know what was inside, nor did they care. If it meant making it to the end of the day, then so be it.

As Bo was carrying the last crate out of the barn, Russel kicked the back of his knee. Bo stumbled to the ground, and the crate he was carrying went flying. It hit the ground with a loud crash as its contents broke, and spilled onto the dirt. The crate had been full of jars, all containing moonshine.

Bo got up quickly and started to back away from Russel. Luke quickly loaded his crate into the car and got ready to back Bo up for whatever was going to happen next.

Russel took his booze bottle, and broke it over Luke's head, showering him with the liquor. The blow knocked him out cold. Bo threw a punch at Russel, but the man caught it and began to crush his hand. Russel twisted his arm, forcing him onto one knee. Bo drove his fist into the man's gut, which only made him angrier. He threw Bo against the wall and punched him in the ribs. Bo tried to fight back, but the pain was overwhelming.

Clayton saw that he was getting really hurt, and gathered his wits. He pointed his gun in the air, and pulled the trigger, breaking up the fight.

That night, Bo and Luke sent out their last CB radio call to Jesse and Daisy. The wait was killing all four of them. They were all anxious, and they couldn't wait for all of this to be over. They didn't talk about Boss Hogg and Rosco's fate once the transaction was completed, and Bo and Luke weren't aware of their plans to trick Clayton and Russel, so, with that, the call ended.

As soon as it did, Russel set two jars of shine in front of them. "Drink it." He ordered.

"But we-" Luke started.

Clayton cut him off with, "Just do it, please."

Bo and Luke each took a drink from their jars. The shine had a skunky aftertaste and smelled more like perfume than it did moonshine. They both cringed, not wanting to take another drink.

"All of it." Russel growled.

He pulled out his gun and kept it pointed at Bo's forehead. Right between his eyes. He and Luke exchanged glances.

"See you on the other side cousin." Luke said, raising the jar to his mouth.

Bo did the same, choking it down quickly so he wouldn't have to deal with it for very long. Once they were both finished, Russel put his gun away and walked out of the barn.

"Right then, let's go. It's time for you two to go home." Clayton said.

Russel opened the fence gate, and Jesse, Boss Hogg, and Rosco walked in.

"Alright, I got 'em here, now let me have my nephews back." Jesse ordered.

"You first." Russel sneered.

Jesse ceased eye contact with the man and whistled the first twelve notes of Dixie. Russel looked confused for a moment, but then suddenly, there was an answer. A horn returned the tune.

"What was that?" Russel asked fearfully.

"I got someone here who wants to meet you. His name, General Lee, and he ain't too happy 'bout bein' thrown into a ravine." Jesse explained.

Russel looked up at the sound of a roaring engine. "Good God!"

A mass of black and orange came flying up, over the fence. It landed with a sideways skid a few feet away from Russel.

It was an orange, 1969 Dodge Charger. It had a black and white trimmed 01 on doors welded shut. The name 'General Lee' above both windows, and a Dixie flag on top. The headlights shone brightly, and a Crazy Cooter was behind the wheel.

Russel's eyes widened in fear, and he took off running for the hills. Daisy and Enos came running out of the trees and through the gate.

"Find Bo, Luke, and that Clayton fella, they can't be too far off." Jesse ordered.

"Not far at all, actually." Clayton chimed in.

He was sitting in the passenger seat of the Trans Am, holding a gun to Luke's head, who was in the driver seat.

Daisy looked around to see that Enos had snuck off and that nobody but her had noticed. Good little sneak, Daisy thought.

Inside the Trans Am, Clayton pointed his gun into the backseat where Bo was sitting.

"Drive." Clayton ordered.

"I can't I-I'll hit 'em." Luke argued.

"Exactly."

"I ain't gonna kill half my family!"

"Do it, or he dies." Clayton cocked the lever back on his gun.

"Don't do it, Luke. Hazzard County could use a little less of Bo Duke anyway." Bo said with fake confidence in his voice.

"Now don't talk like that!" Luke exclaimed.

"I… AM NOT… GOING… TO PRISON!" Clayton screamed.

"Think again." Enos growled.

He was standing at the side of the car, gun pointed at the back of Clayton's head.

"Now, turn around, and gimme your gun." Enos said authoritatively.

Clayton smiled. "With pleasure."

He whirled around and fired a shot at Enos. Blood flew from his side as the bullet's impact caused him to trip. He fell onto his back and didn't get back up.

Bo and Luke quickly got out of the car and ran in the other direction. Clayton fired a shot their way but ended up missing both of them. He then ducked into the shadows, and no one saw him after that.

Daisy ran to Enos and held his bleeding body in her arms.

"Daisy?" Enos whispered weakly.

"It's gonna be alright Enos, it's gonna be alright." She said reassuringly.

She cupped the deputy's face in her hand. Enos brought a shaking hand up to meet hers.

"I… I love you, Daisy." He whispered in a shaky voice.

He took one last glance up at her. Her beautiful face was streaked with tears. Enos smiled up at her.

"Enos!" Daisy sobbed.

That was the last thing Enos Strate heard, before losing consciousness in the arms of the girl he'd loved his whole life.

Bo and Luke ran behind the barn and took cover against the wall. A twig snapped in the darkness behind them, and a large figure appeared.

"Looks like I'll just have to finish you two off myself." Russel said.

Bo and Luke jumped away from him fearfully. It was then that their vision began to blur, and they grew dizzy. Luke grabbed the side of the barn to steady himself, and they both suddenly felt a sharp pain in their stomachs.

"Never mind, looks like all I have to do is sit back and watch." Russel sneered.

"What'd you do to us?" Bo asked in agony.

"Well, remember that moonshine you drank?" Russel asked.

"Yeah, what about it?"

Russel laughed. "You two were given an extreme overdose of anticholinergics and benzodiazepines."

"Luke, what's he goin' on about?" Bo asked.

"Tranquilizers and drugs that cause memory loss. Russel, how extreme of an overdose?" Luke asked.

"I ain't sure, but don't worry, the good news is if you don't die, you won't remember a thing." Russel explained enthusiastically.

Bo doubled over and collapsed onto the ground. "Whatever happened to quick and painless?"

"Eh, quick and painless is terribly overrated if you ask me. I like doin' things slow y' know, takin' my sweet time."

Luke fell over as well. "You… don't say."

Russel disappeared back into the shadows.

"L-Luke, e-everythin' hurts." Bo choked out.

Luke looked to his cousin, his vision beginning to blacken. Tears rolled down Bo's face. A yellowish-white foam streamed from his mouth. As his eyes began to roll back in his head, Luke reached out, grabbing his arm. He shook him back awake. Bo's body writhed in pain.

"Don't give up, keep fightin'. We'll get out of here, just stay with me." Luke urged him.

Bo didn't reply and fell limp. His eyes closed, and he felt the pain in his stomach slowly numb away. He started to feel relaxed, soon, the same thing happened to Luke. And then, just like that, it was over.
